spirit_n in_o thy_o heart_n the_o assurance_n of_o the_o forgiveness_n of_o all_o thy_o sin_n 6._o second_o to_o renew_v thy_o heart_n by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n so_o that_o sin_n may_v daily_o decay_v and_o righteousness_n more_o and_o more_o increase_n in_o thou_o 5._o last_o in_o desire_v a_o supply_n of_o faith_n patience_n chastity_n and_o all_o other_o grace_n which_o thou_o want_v and_o a_o increase_n of_o those_o which_o god_n of_o his_o mercy_n have_v bestow_v upon_o thou_o already_o thus_o far_o of_o prayer_n in_o fast_v the_o devout_a action_n in_o fast_v be_v two_o first_o avoid_v evil_a second_o do_v good_a 1._o of_o avoid_v evil._n this_o abstinence_n from_o evil_n be_v that_o which_o be_v chief_o signify_v by_o thy_o abstinence_n from_o food_n etc._n etc._n and_o be_v the_o chief_a end_n of_o fast_v as_o the_o 10._o ninevite_n very_o well_o know_v a_o day_n of_o fast_n and_o not_o fast_v from_o sin_n the_o lord_n abhor_v it_o be_v not_o the_o vacuity_n of_o the_o stomach_n but_o the_o 14._o purity_n of_o the_o heart_n that_o god_n respect_v if_o therefore_o thou_o will_v have_v god_n to_o turn_v from_o thou_o the_o 10._o evil_n of_o affliction_n thou_o must_v first_o turn_v away_o from_o thyself_o the_o evil_n of_o transgression_n and_o without_o this_o fast_n from_o evil_n thy_o fast_a favour_n more_o noisome_a to_o god_n than_o thy_o breath_n do_v to_o man._n this_o make_v god_n so_o often_o to_o reject_v the_o fast_a of_o the_o 13._o jew_n and_o as_o thou_o must_v endeavour_v to_o avoid_v all_o sin_n so_o especial_o that_o sin_n wherewith_o thou_o have_v provoke_v god_n either_o to_o shake_v his_o rod_n at_o thou_o or_o already_o to_o lay_v his_o chasten_a hand_n upon_o thou_o and_o do_v this_o with_o a_o resolution_n by_o the_o assistance_n of_o god_n grace_n never_o to_o commit_v those_o sin_n again_o for_o epist_n what_o shall_v it_o profit_v a_o man_n by_o abstinence_n to_o humble_v his_o body_n if_o his_o mind_n swell_v with_o pride_n or_o to_o forbear_v wine_n and_o strong_a drink_n and_o to_o be_v drink_v with_o wrath_n and_o malice_n or_o to_o let_v no_o flesh_n go_v into_o the_o belly_n when_o lie_n slander_n and_o ribaldry_n which_o be_v worse_a than_o any_o meat_n come_v out_o of_o the_o mouth_n to_o abstain_v
