god_n who_o be_v always_o like_o himself_o receive_v they_o to_o mercy_n and_o doubtless_o god_n be_v more_o now_o displease_v with_o such_o as_o do_v now_o wilful_o kick_v and_o spurn_v against_o part_n of_o you_o do_v understand_v so_o much_o in_o the_o commandment_n lord_n prayer_n and_o article_n of_o the_o faith_n that_o it_o be_v a_o great_a shame_n for_o a_o godly_a man_n to_o have_v a_o in_o the_o 4._o chapter_n to_o the_o ephe._n from_o the_o 17._o verse_n forward_o if_o a_o man_n continue_v in_o darkness_n he_o do_v not_o repent_v he_o which_o commit_v his_o foul_a sin_n still_o although_o it_o be_v but_o in_o the_o desire_n of_o his_o heart_n have_v not_o repent_v he_o which_o do_v not_o feel_v sorrow_n and_o grief_n and_o have_v not_o a_o break_a and_o contrite_a heart_n and_o a_o sorrowful_a spirit_n have_v not_o repent_v he_o which_o do_v not_o eschew_v evil_a and_o do_v good_a have_v not_o repent_v all_o these_o be_v teach_v by_o the_o word_n for_o that_o be_v it_o by_o which_o we_o must_v cleanse_v our_o way_n and_o therefore_o you_o may_v bold_o say_v that_o he_o which_o learn_v not_o out_o of_o god_n word_n to_o repent_v can_v repent_v for_o although_o if_o it_o be_v possible_a he_o can_v repent_v for_o all_o other_o sin_n yet_o this_o one_o sin_n to_o set_v light_n by_o the_o instruction_n of_o the_o gospel_n will_v make_v still_o worse_o than_o they_o of_o sodom_n as_o our_o saviour_n do_v tell_v we_o math._n 11._o ath._n will_v you_o condemn_v those_o which_o call_v for_o mercy_n at_o their_o end_n which_o never_o repent_v before_o zealot_n we_o may_v not_o pronounce_v upon_o any_o one_o man_n because_o god_n only_o see_v what_o be_v in_o man_n but_o yet_o we_o may_v bold_o go_v so_o far_o as_o the_o word_n of_o god_n do_v lead_v we_o and_o by_o it_o we_o may_v see_v what_o god_n require_v and_o what_o god_n do_v condemn_v we_o may_v see_v that_o the_o common_a and_o general_a repentance_n which_o all_o profess_v at_o their_o end_n be_v not_o so_o much_o as_o a_o shadow_n of_o true_a repentance_n repentance_n can_v be_v in_o a_o man_n especial_o upon_o a_o sudden_a but_o he_o must_v needs_o feel_v a_o wonderful_a change_n in_o repentance_n man_n feel_v no_o such_o thing_n but_o be_v still_o as_o they_o may_v be_v well_o enough_o in_o doubt_n of_o salvation_n ath._n shall_v not_o all_o such_o as_o call_v upon_o god_n be_v holy_a ghost_n say_v by_o solomon_n in_o the_o proverbe_n that_o the_o sacrifice_n of_o the_o wicked_a be_v a_o abomination_n and_o in_o the_o same_o book_n it_o be_v say_v he_o that_o turn_v away_o his_o ear_n from_o hear_v the_o law_n even_o his_o prayer_n shall_v be_v abominable_a and_o therefore_o in_o the_o latter_a end_n of_o the_o four_o chapter_n of_o ecclesiastes_n he_o advise_v man_n when_o they_o come_v into_o the_o house_n of_o god_n to_o take_v heed_n to_o their_o fekete_n and_o to_o be_v ready_a to_o hear_v then_o to_o offer_v the_o sacrifice_n of_o fool_n for_o say_v he_o they_o know_v not_o that_o they_o do_v evil_a now_o you_o shall_v find_v many_o mâ—n_z â—rye_n in_o their_o misery_n and_o make_v great_a confession_n of_o their_o ungodly_a life_n but_o yet_o without_o true_a repentance_n as_o it_o be_v manifest_a for_o so_o soon_o as_o the_o prosper_v again_o you_o shall_v see_v they_o return_v to_o their_o old_a by_o as_o if_o they_o have_v true_o repent_v then_o shall_v it_o ever_o continue_v with_o they_o many_o that_o live_v in_o malice_n so_o soon_o as_o they_o be_v dangerous_o sick_a will_v be_v ready_a to_o ask_v forgiveness_n and_o to_o forgive_v all_o the_o world_n they_o know_v it_o boot_v not_o to_o bear_v malice_n any_o long_o but_o so_o long_o as_o they_o be_v able_a to_o craulle_a out_o of_o their_o bed_n and_o to_o stand_v upon_o their_o leg_n you_o shall_v see_v their_o old_a wither_a malice_n as_o it_o seem_v spring_v a_o fresh_a again_o which_o be_v a_o strong_a proof_n that_o they_o never_o true_o repent_v howsoever_o they_o think_v they_o do_v and_o even_o so_o be_v it_o in_o all_o other_o sin_n they_o seem_v unto_o man_n for_o to_o repent_v they_o ask_v god_n forgiveness_n but_o yet_o the_o heart_n abide_v still_o the_o same_o that_o it_o be_v before_o god_n there_o be_v no_o change_n in_o they_o before_o god_n they_o have_v not_o put_v of_o the_o sinful_a body_n of_o the_o flesh_n there_o be_v no_o change_n in_o they_o before_o god_n howesoever_o they_o seem_v to_o be_v change_v before_o man_n this_o counterfeit_a repentance_n make_v man_n bold_a all_o their_o life_n to_o despise_v the_o holy_a word_n of_o god_n which_o shall_v instruct_v and_o guide_v they_o it_o cause_v they_o at_o their_o end_n not_o to_o fear_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n noâ—_n the_o vengeance_n to_o come_v apply_v themselves_o all_o their_o life_n to_o seek_v for_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n to_o increase_v in_o say_v and_o repentance_n that_o when_o they_o come_v to_o their_o end_n they_o may_v which_o be_v able_a to_o rend_v the_o stony_a rock_n in_o piece_n and_o to_o cleave_v to_o the_o authority_n of_o weak_a man_n which_o be_v go_v before_o they_o but_o what_o shall_v a_o man_n say_v
