5_o the_o sum_n of_o this_o first_o petition_n be_v that_o the_o lord_n will_v bestow_v upon_o we_o thing_n necessary_a for_o this_o life_n to_o wit_n food_n and_o raiment_n especial_o next_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v help_n of_o the_o outward_a necessity_n of_o this_o life_n that_o be_v such_o thing_n as_o make_v for_o our_o peaceable_a be_v as_o far_o &_o as_o long_o as_o the_o lord_n think_v expedient_a for_o us._n 6_o the_o necessity_n or_o rather_o the_o aequitie_n of_o this_o petition_n be_v manifold_a first_o it_o teach_v we_o that_o we_o ought_v whole_o to_o depend_v upon_o god_n providence_n by_o who_o we_o be_v nourish_v maintain_v and_o preserve_v secondlie_o that_o we_o acknowledge_v he_o the_o giver_n of_o all_o good_a thing_n both_o spiritual_a and_o temporal_a thirdlie_o that_o we_o may_v with_o quiet_a mind_n expect_v those_o thing_n at_o his_o hand_n which_o otherwise_o will_v hold_v we_o in_o a_o miserable_a care_n and_o perplexity_n 7_o for_o our_o merciful_a father_n do_v not_o disdain_v to_o receive_v our_o body_n into_o his_o protection_n and_o custody_n that_o by_o these_o small_a thing_n he_o may_v exercise_v our_o faith_n when_o as_o we_o look_v for_o all_o thing_n at_o his_o hand_n even_o the_o least_o crumb_n of_o bread_n and_o drop_v of_o water_n that_o we_o put_v into_o our_o mouth_n i._o the_o marcionite_n and_o manichaees_n therefore_o be_v out_o of_o their_o wit_n who_o have_v endeavour_v to_o defend_v that_o god_n have_v no_o care_n of_o these_o our_o body_n as_o though_o the_o same_o be_v unbeseeming_a his_o majesty_n and_o that_o our_o flesh_n or_o our_o body_n be_v the_o work_n not_o of_o god_n but_o of_o a_o evil_a beginning_n that_o be_v of_o the_o devil_n and_o therefore_o that_o it_o become_v not_o the_o good_a god_n to_o sustain_v they_o see_v they_o be_v evil_a ii_o they_o be_v mad_a also_o who_o think_v that_o all_o thing_n be_v dispose_v by_o the_o toss_n of_o fortune_n and_o the_o epicure_n also_o together_o with_o those_o who_o hold_v that_o god_n have_v no_o care_n or_o respect_n unto_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v do_v under_o the_o or_o be_v of_o the_o moon_n iii_o witch_n and_o sorcerer_n in_o like_a sort_n be_v here_o condemn_v and_o all_o those_o who_o either_o open_o or_o by_o any_o secret_a trade_n seek_v their_o maintenance_n in_o this_o life_n of_o the_o devil_n and_o not_o of_o god_n 8_o
