against_o the_o light_n they_o know_v not_o the_o way_n thereof_o nor_o abide_v in_o the_o path_n thereof_o from_o this_o to_o v._o 21._o job_n proceed_v to_o give_v other_o instance_n of_o wicked_a man_n who_o be_v cut_v off_o but_o in_o a_o ordinary_a way_n particular_o of_o these_o who_o follow_v work_n of_o darkness_n such_o as_o murderer_n thief_n and_o adulterer_n to_o who_o also_o pirate_n the_o path_n thereof_o for_o understanding_n whereof_o consider_v 1._o as_o for_o the_o way_n of_o propound_v this_o character_n they_o be_v of_o or_o among_o those_o that_o rebel_n etc._n etc._n though_o the_o relative_a they_o or_o those_z may_v refer_v to_o these_o violent_a oppressor_n and_o open_a robber_n former_o speak_v of_o that_o they_o be_v also_o among_o the_o number_n of_o these_o this_o be_v their_o character_n that_o they_o do_v not_o commit_v their_o wickedness_n open_o as_o the_o other_o sort_n do_v but_o be_v among_o the_o number_n of_o these_o of_o which_o sort_n there_o be_v many_o more_o than_o those_o name_v here_o who_o shun_v the_o light_n 2._o as_o for_o this_o light_n against_o which_o these_o wicked_a man_n rebel_v and_o the_o way_n and_o path_n whereof_o they_o know_v not_o nor_o will_v abide_v in_o they_o albeit_o the_o follow_a purpose_n do_v clear_a that_o it_o be_v mean_v of_o the_o light_n of_o the_o day_n which_o those_o wicked_a man_n do_v shun_v yet_o it_o may_v take_v in_o also_o the_o internal_a light_n whether_o of_o nature_n or_o divine_a revelation_n against_o which_o they_o fight_v and_o rebel_n and_o the_o path_n whereof_o they_o shun_v in_o their_o wicked_a course_n whereof_o this_o be_v a_o infallible_a evidence_n that_o they_o shun_v daylight_n in_o perpetrate_v these_o wickedness_n as_o be_v conscious_a to_o themselves_o how_o abominable_a they_o be_v and_o that_o therefore_o they_o be_v punishable_a by_o law_n in_o all_o civil_a society_n doct._n 1._o sinner_n be_v not_o all_o of_o one_o sort_n but_o but_o they_o have_v light_n which_o condemn_v at_o least_o their_o gross_a evil_n for_o therefore_o be_v they_o rebel_n against_o this_o light_n as_o well_o as_o they_o shun_v daylight_n when_o they_o commit_v they_o see_v psa_n 53.4_o 4._o man_n light_n shall_v have_v authority_n over_o they_o to_o command_v their_o practice_n for_o they_o be_v rebel_n against_o a_o sovereign_a authority_n who_o outward_a lot_n come_v alike_o to_o all_o that_o so_o neither_o their_o own_o affliction_n nor_o the_o prosperity_n of_o other_o do_v shake_v they_o this_o be_v the_o great_a truth_n which_o god_n in_o his_o providence_n have_v clear_v in_o job_n experience_n and_o the_o debate_v record_v in_o this_o book_n a_o truth_n to_o which_o the_o scripture_n eccles_n 9.1_o 2._o ezek._n 21_o 3._o and_o frequent_o elsewhere_o bear_v witness_n and_o therefore_o man_n will_v be_v very_o sincere_a will_v by_o faith_n grip_n to_o god_n love_n in_o every_o lot_n and_o will_v mortify_v their_o own_o lust_n lâ—st_v otherwise_o tentation_n contrary_a to_o this_o truth_n do_v shake_v they_o as_o we_o find_v in_o some_o case_n cross_a providence_n have_v occasion_v though_o not_o a_o denial_n yet_o low_a once_z i_o say_v in_o these_o respect_n the_o case_n of_o the_o godly_a and_o wicked_a may_v differ_v very_o far_o but_o yet_o the_o outward_a lot_n be_v the_o same_o 6._o saint_n ought_v to_o resolve_v that_o they_o may_v be_v like_o the_o wicked_a not_o in_o some_o lesser_a calamity_n only_o but_o even_o in_o be_v destroy_v and_o send_v out_o of_o the_o world_n by_o a_o sad_a stroke_n that_o so_o they_o may_v learn_v not_o to_o dote_v on_o time_n or_o those_o temporal_a issue_n that_o be_v give_v to_o man_n while_o they_o be_v continue_v in_o it_o for_o even_o to_o this_o do_v job_n extend_v the_o general_a assertion_n he_o destroy_v the_o perfect_a and_o the_o wicked_a he_o smite_v the_o one_o and_o the_o other_o indifferent_o as_o it_o please_v he_o even_o till_o he_o learn_v 1._o while_o he_o call_v any_o of_o these_o common_a calamity_n a_o scourge_n which_o import_v a_o correction_n for_o a_o fault_n it_o teach_v that_o whatever_o may_v be_v god_n end_n in_o cleanly_a trial_n and_o suffering_n yet_o national_a calamity_n be_v punishment_n for_o sin_n they_o be_v the_o result_n of_o god_n accurate_a search_v out_o and_z noticing_z of_o sin_n and_o shall_v be_v move_v to_o and_o fro_o according_a as_o he_o please_v who_o make_v use_v of_o it_o and_o to_o consider_v and_o try_v 2._o though_o god_n may_v sometime_o threaten_v when_o yet_o he_o forbear_v amos_n 7_o 1_o 2_o 3_o etc._n etc._n and_o sometime_o may_v inflict_v lesser_a calamity_n when_o yet_o he_o preserve_v the_o afflict_a alive_a yet_o it_o shall_v be_v remember_v that_o god_n have_v please_v sometime_o to_o send_v scourge_n very_o unexpected_o when_o nothing_o like_o that_o be_v dream_v of_o but_o the_o contrary_n seem_v most_o probable_a that_o he_o may_v surprise_v the_o be_o perfect_a or_o if_o i_o be_v perfect_a to_o wit_n in_o my_o own_o eye_n the_o text_n be_v thus_o read_v will_v afford_v a_o new_a ground_n of_o his_o resolution_n against_o contend_v and_o the_o sense_n will_v be_v either_o 1._o according_a to_o the_o translation_n though_o i_o be_v or_o be_v perfect_a etc._n etc._n as_o if_o job_n have_v say_v though_o i_o be_v sincere_a and_o not_o a_o in_o that_o case_n say_v he_o if_o i_o say_v i_o be_o perfect_a i_o will_v despise_v my_o life_n not_o only_a will_v the_o majesty_n of_o god_n crush_v such_o a_o proud_a contend_v and_o consequent_o such_o a_o one_o do_v despise_v his_o life_n when_o he_o enter_v on_o such_o a_o course_n as_o job_n himself_o observe_v chap._n 13.14_o but_o if_o a_o man_n be_v honest_a when_o he_o come_v to_o
