Yea many a time in mercy he his anger turn'd away And did not fiercely all his wrath ' gainst them stir up alway verse 39 For he remembred that they were but flesh that is most vain A wind that passeth soon away and cometh not again verse 40 How oft did they provoke him in the barren wildernesse And in the desart also him grieve by their wickednesse verse 41 Yea to their sins they turned back and tempted GOD anone And of Isra'l they limited the just and holy One verse 42 They did not his almighty hand remember thankfully Nor yet the day he saved them from the fierce enemy verse 43 How he had in strong Egypt lanâ— that stubborn would not yeeld Wrought his great signes and wondâ— had done in Zoan field verse 44 And how he had by his great powâ— their rivers turn'd in blood And LXIV O GOD while I unto thee pray be pleasd my voice to hear Of th' enmie that most cruel is preserve my life from fear verse 2 Me from the secret counsell hide of those that wicked be From th' insurrection of the men that work iniquitie verse 3 Who whet their tongue with greaâ— despighâ— like sharp two edged swords And to shoot arrows bend their bows even their most bitter words verse 4 That they may shoot in secret at the man that 's perfect heere They suddenly do shoot at him and not at all do feare verse 5 Themselves they in a matter ill encourage privilie Of laying snares they commune still

LXXIII GOD truely unto Israel is good as may be seen Even to all such as upright are and of a heart that 's clean verse 2 But as for me in my great grief my feet in ev'rie way Were almost gone my steps also had well nigh slipt away verse 3 For envious at foolish men I was most foolishlie When of the wicked still I saw the great prosperitie verse 4 For in their death there are no baâ— as others feel infirm But in their health and wealth also their strength is ever firm verse 5 They are not as all other men in trouble as we see Nor yet like other men also on earth they plagued be verse 6 Therefore vain pride even as a chiâ—â— doth compasse them about Even as a garment violence doth cover them throughout verse 7 Their eyes always with fatnes swolâ— stand out yea more then this They have more wealth among their hands than any heart could wish verse 8 They altogether are corrupt and speak most wickedly Concerning their oppression great they proud speak loftily verse 9 Against the heav'ns most proudly they do set their mouth and talk Their tongue reviling throgh the earth continually doth walk verse 10 Therefore soon hither do return the people round about And of a full cup waters great unto them are wrung out verse 11 And thus they say how doth at all GOD know the things that be And is there any knowledge now in him who is most hie verse 12 Behold those the ungodly are and prosper at their will Heer in the world alwayes they do increase in riches still verse 13 I verilie did say my heart I cleansed have in vain And in mine innocencie al 's have wash'd my hands with paiâ— verse 14 For all the day long have I been still plagued more and more And every morning early I have al 's been chastned sore verse 15 If I say I will surely thus speak as I did intend Thy childrens generation just behold I should offend verse 16 When I this thought to know theâ— too painfull was for me verse 17 Till to GODS Sanctuary I went then I their end did see verse 18 In slipperie places surely thou didst set them all at last Thou them into destruction all down shamefully didst cast verse 19 How into desolation they as in a moment be Thus brought They all with terrours are consumed utterlie verse 20 As a vain dream when one awakes even so O LORD likewise When thou awak'st most surely thou their image shalt despise verse 21 Thus was my heart griev'd I was in my reines pricked sore verse 22 So foolish I and ignorant a beast was thee before verse 23 Neverthelesse continually I alwayes am with thee By my right hand thou surely hast most safely holden me verse 24 Thou shalt me with thy couÌ„sel wise still guide as I do crave And afterward to glory thou me surely shalt receive verse 25 Whom in distresse have I in heav'n but thee whom I require Besides thee also there is none on earth that I desire verse 26 My flesh and heart fail me but God who failes me neveâ— The strength is of my heart and â— my portion ev'n for ever verse 27 For lo they that are far from shall perish so and so Thou hast all them destroyed thaâ— from thee a whoring go verse 28 But for me to draw neer to Gâ—â— it 's good ev'n evry where I trusted have in God that I may all thy works declare PSAL. LXXIV O God why hast thou us for â— cast off in danger deep why doth thine anger smoak agaiâ— ev'n thine own pasture sheep verse 2 Thy congregation dear to thee in good remembrance hold Which thou ev'n in thy mercie gâ— hast purchased of old The rod of thine inheritance which thou redeemed hast This Mount Sion wherein alwayes thou dwelt m time bypast To desolations lasting still lift up thy feet anone â—'n all that in the Sanctuarie the enemie still hath done Amidst thy congregations all thy enmies still do roar They also do set up for signes their ensignes in great store A man was famous and renown'd in their societies â—ccording as the axes he did lift on the thick trees But with sharp axes and also strong hammers which they take â—e carved work thereof at once in furie down they break They fire into thy Sanctuary have cast by casting down â—hey have defil'd the dwelling place of thy Name to the ground verse 8 They said in heart Let us destroâ— together all their band GODS synagogues they have burnt that are in all the land verse 9 Our signes we see not no more a Prophet us among Nor yet among us any is that knoweth well how long verse 10 How long Lord shall th'adversâ— thus us reproach with shame Shall th' enmie fierce for ever thus blaspheme thy holy Name verse 11 Why
dost thou thus withdraw ev'n thy right hand so stout Now from thy bosome where it 's 〈◊〉 with speed pluck thou it out verse 12 For surely GOD the LORD of oâ— my King is by good will Even in the midst of all the earth salvation working still verse 13 By thy great strength alone indâ— thou didst divide the sea â— waters great the dragons heads were broken all by thee verse 14 Thou all in pieces breakst the heads of Leviathan fell â—nd gav'st him for the people meat in wildernesse that dwell verse 15 The fountain the flood thou didst cleave by thy strength alone The mighty rivers of the land thou didst drie up anone verse 16 The day is thine the night also is thine by greatest right The Sun for day thou hast prepar'd and likewise hast the light verse 17 The coasts and borders of the earth thou hast all set compleat Thou hast al 's made the winter cold and summer with its heat verse 18 Remember this that thee reproch'd the enmie hath with shame O LORD and that the foolish folk blasphemed have thy name verse 19 O of thy Turtle dove the 〈◊〉 free from the wicked set The congregation of the poor 〈◊〉 â—er not forget verse 20 Have to the Covenant respect that hath been made by thee For earths dark places dwellings aâ— even full of crueltie verse 21 O let not the oppressed folk returne with grief and shame Let those that poor and needy are praise thy most blessed Name verse 22 Arise O God thine owne justicâ— plead thou how speedilie Remember how the foolish man reproacheth daily thee verse 23 Forget not of thy foes the voicâ— the tumult alwayes ill Of those that up against thee rise increaseth ever still PSAL. LXXV TO thee O God do we give thaâ— we doe give thankes thee â—or that thy wondrous works declare thy great Name neer to be When I the congregation great to govern shall receive â— all affaires as Judge I will me uprightly behave The earth and the inhabitants that in the same appeare â—â—gether now dissolved are its pillars I up bear I surely said unto the fools Deal not thus foolishly â—â—d to the wicked men also Lift not the horn so hie Lift ye not up your horn on high speak not with stiffe neck thus For not from th' east nor from the west nor south promotion is But God 's the Iudge he puts down one and sets another up For in the hand ev'n of the Lord of red wine is a cup. It 's full of mixture he it out powres but the wicked all That be on earth the dregs thereof wring out and drink them shaâ—â— verse 9 But I 'le for ay declare sing praisâ— to Iacobs God I 'le still verse 10 All wickeds hornes I 'le cut off th'uprights hornes raise I will But wicked men shall 〈…〉 which they 〈…〉 〈…〉 wicked men cut 〈…〉 But of 〈…〉 â—ous all the hornes shall be◠〈◊〉 â—ed still PSAL. PRaise ye the LORD O now give thanks unto the Lord together For he is good for his mercy endureth fast for ever verse 2 Who of the LORD Omnipotent the mighty acts of worth Well utter can Who all his praise can to the full shew foorth verse 3 Blest are all they that judgement wel do keep in all their wayes And he that upright at all times doth righteousnesse alwayes verse 4 With favour such remember me as thou O LORD dost bear To thy people O visit me with thy salvation dear verse 5 That I thy chosen good may see in thy folks gladnesse glade That I with thine inheritance to glory may be made verse 6 We with our fathers sinned have we have iniquitie Committed by a sinfull life we have done wickedlie verse 7 The wonders great which thou did worâ— O Lord in Egypt land Our fathers though they saw them all did not them understand Of thy great mercies multitude they well remembred never But at the sea ev'n the red sea they him provok'd together verse 8 Neverthelesse he by his might them sav'd who were his own For his names sake that he might make his mighty power known verse 9 He al 's the red sea did rebuke and it was then made dry Through deeps as through the wildernesse he led them by and by verse 10 He sav'd them from the hand of him that did them alwayes hate And them redeemed from the hand of th' enemie so great verse 11 The waters covred then their foes of them left was not one verse 12 Then they beleeved all his words they sang his praise anone verse 13 They soon by their unthankfulnes his glorious works forgot For his wise counsell foolishly at all they waited not verse 14 But in the barren wildernesse did lust exceedingly And in the desert GOD alwayes they tempted foolishly verse 15 And he to them al 's their request gave after their intent But wasting leannesse suddenly into their soul he sent verse 16 They also Moses in the camp did vex with great envy And Aaron though a Saint of God by them was not set by verse 17 Therefore the earth did open wide and Dathan speedily Did swallow up and covred al 's Abirams company verse 18 And also in their companie a kindled fire did fall The flam thereof then breaking forth burnt up the wicked all verse 19 A calf of gold in Horeb they made in their folly rare And worshipped most foolishly the molten image there verse 20 Thus they their glory shamefully chang'd as they did trespasse Into the liknesse of an ox that eats on earth the grasse verse 21 They God their Saviour then forgâ—â— which by his mighty hand For their comfort alwayes had done great things in Egypt land verse 22 Most wondrous works within the land of Ham as all might see And things that were most terrible even hard by the red sea verse 23 Then said he He would them destroy had Moses in the way Not stood from them destroying all to turn his wrath away verse 24 Yea they despisde the pleasant land they not beleev'd his word verse 25 But in their tents they murmur'd still not hearkning to the Lord. verse 26 Therefore ' gainst them he lifted up his hand with great distresse To overthrow them every man in the waste wildernesse verse 27 And al 's among the Nations all to overthrow anone Their seed and likewise in the lands to scatter them each one verse 28 To Baal Peor also they did joine themselves with speed And ate the sacrifices that were offred to the dead verse 29 Thus they most foolishly with their inventions full of sin To anger him provok'd and so the plague on them brake in verse 30 Then Phineas full of zeal stood up and judgement he that day Did execute and so the LORD the fearfull plague did stay verse 31 And unto him for righteousnesse that counted was therefore Yea unto generations all and that for evermore verse 32 They at the waters al 's of strife sore did him angrie make So that it went exceeding all with Moses for their sake verse 33 Because they did his wounded sprit provoke presumptuously So that at last he with his lips spake unadvisedly verse 34 They also did not then destroy the Nations with their hand Concerning whom the Lord to them learn expresly gave command verse 35 But they the heathens workes did with whom they mingled were verse 36 And they their idols served al 's which were to them a snare verse 37 Yea which was more ev'n in a rage the cause of fearfull evils Their sons and daughters wickedly they sacrific'd to devils verse 38 And so they blood most innocent did shed without all fear Yea ev'n the blood of those that were

XVII ATtend unto my cry O LORD and hear the right from me My prayer now hear that go'th not oâ— of lips that famed be verse 2 Let my sentence from thy presence come foorth my cause to clear Let al 's thine eyes behold the things that equall still are heer verse 3 Thou narrowly hast prov'd mine haâ— which still is in thy sight And visited hast also me in darknesse of the night Thou hast me tri'd nothing thou shaâ— find in me more or lesse I purposde am even that my mouth in no way shall transgresse verse 4 Concerning works of wicked men by the word taught by thee From paths of the destroyer I have kept me carefullie verse 5 My goings alwayes in thy paths in mercy still hold up That my footsteps in all thy wayes directed may not slip verse 6 I called have on thee O GOD for sure thou wilt me hear O hear my speach and unto me incline thy gracious ear verse 7 Thy marv'lous loving kindnesse shew thou that by thy right hand Sav'st them that put their trust in thee from those that them gainstand verse 8 O keep me Lord now and protect as th'apple of the eye Under the shaddow of thy wings most closelie hide thou me verse 9 From wicked men who ever still me to oppresse are stout Even from my deadly en'mies all who compasse me about verse 10 Inclosed they are alwayes in their own fat at their will They with their mouth great swellinâ— word with boast speak proudly still verse 11 Those men have us now in our step compassed with deceit And craftilie they bowing down their eyes on earth have set verse 12 Like as a cruell Lion that is greedy of his prey And a young Lion lurking which in places hid doth stay verse 13 Quicklie arise him disappoint and cast him down O LORD My soul now from the wicked save which surely is thy sword verse 14 From men which are thy hand O LORD from men whose daylie strife Is for this world which only have their portion in this life Whose bellie with thy treasure hid thou fillest of the best They full of children to their babes leave of their wealth the rest verse 15 As for me I in righteousnesse thy face will surely see With thy likenesse when I awake I satisfi'd shall be PSAL. XVII O Lord that chiefly art my strength thee dearly love I will The LORD my rock and fortresse is and my deliverer still My God my strength in whom I trust my buckler al 's is he The horne of my salvation al 's and Towre that is most hie verse 3 Upon the LORD who to be prais'd is worthy I will call So in all dangers I shall be sav'd from mine enmies all verse 4 The sorrowes great of fearfull death me compassd all dismaid And of ungodly men the floods made me to be afraid verse 5 Of hell the sorrowes alwayes did me compasse fearfullie The snares of death with trembling feaâ— and grief prevented me verse 6 I in distresse call'd on the LORD and cry'd to GOD with teares He from his Temple heard my voice my cry came to his eares verse 7 Then shook the earth trembled aâ— the hills foundations both Were mov'd and al 's they shaken werâ— because that he was wroth verse 8 Out of his nostrils there went up a smoak most fearfully And from his mouth a fire devour'd coales kindled were thereby verse 9 He also bow'd the heav'ns and camâ— down in a way most meet And darknes which was black thick there under was his feet verse 10 And he upon a Cherub rode and did most swiftly flie Yea on the wings he of the wind did flie with Majestie verse 11 He darknesse made his secret place his pau'lion round about Were waters dark and of the skies thick clouds all stretched out verse 12 At the brightnesse that him before was in his fearfull ire His thick clouds passed here and there hailstones and coales of fire verse 13 The Lord al 's thuÌ„dred in the heav'ns the Highest every where Then gave his voice hailstones coals of fire that flamming were verse 14 Yea he sent out his arrowes and them scattred great and small And he shot out his lightnings bright and them discomfit'd all verse 15 The chanels of the waters deep all seen then clearly were And al 's the worlds foundations all discovered were each where At thy rebuke all this was done most powerfully O LORD Even at the fearfull blast of breath thy nostrils did afford verse 16 His readie help he from above did send by his command Hee out of many waters me drew by his mighty hand verse 17 He fâ—oÌ„ mine enmie that was strong most safely set me free From theÌ„ which did me hate for theâ— were all too strong for me verse 18 Of my calamitie they did prevent me in the day But the LORD in his mercie great was ever still my stay verse 19 He also a large place into me brought forth by his might He did deliver me because he did in me delight verse 20 According to my righteousnesse the LORD rewarded me After the cleannesse of my hands me recompensd hath he verse 21 For of the LORD I have the wayes well keept with all my heart And from my God I wickedly would not at all depart verse 22 For all his judgements of great weight were ever me before And I his statutes not a way did put from me therefore verse 23 I also was upright and true before him in my way And I from mine iniquitie did keep my self alway verse 24 Therefore after my righteousnesse GOD recompenc'd hath me According as his eyes have seen my hands cleannesse to be verse 25 Thou wilt shew with the mercifâ—â— thy self in mercy right And with a man upright thou wilt even shew thy self upright verse 26 Thou with the pure thy selfe wâ— sheâ— most pure in all thy wayes And with the froward thou thy self wilt froward shew alwayes verse 27 For thou the people poor wilt saâ— that fore afflicted be And also wilt bring down at length the lookes that are so hie verse 28 For thou in thy great mercy wilâ— my candle clearly light The LORD my GOD enlighten will my darknesse all made bright verse 29 For I by thee even through a troâ— have run not hurt at all And by my GOD I with great force have leaped ov'r a wall verse 30 As for GOD perfect is his way GODS word is surely try'd He to all those that trust in him a buckler doth abide verse 31 For who is God except the LORD yea surely there is none Or who for safety is a rock except our GOD alone verse 32 It is God onely in his love that grideth me with strength And maketh also all my way most perfect at the length verse 33 Like Hinds feet which most swiftly run he makes my feet to be And by his hand
own strength be thou O Lord exalted ever still â—o sing alwayes most thankfully and praise thy power we will PSAL. XXII MY God my God Why hast thou me forsaken Why art thou So far from helping me and from words of my roaring now verse 2 My God in the day time I cry but thou me dost not hear And in the night season I am not silent in my fear verse 3 But thou alwayes most holy art O thou of Israel That dost inhabite constantly the praises that excell verse 4 Our father 's all in great distresse did put their trust in thee They trusted and thou didst them all deliver speedilie verse 5 They cri'd to thee then they were deliv'red great and small In thee they trusted and they not confounded were at all verse 6 But I am as the crawling worme no man in any wise Of all men a most vile reproach whom people do despise verse 7 All they do laugh me still to scorn that see me in the way They with contempt shoot out the liâ— they shake the head and say verse 8 In GOD he trusted that he would deliver him from ill Let him deliver him sith he delighted in him still verse 9 But thou art he that safely me out of the womb didst take When I was on my mothers breasts to hope thou didst me make verse 10 When I was new come from thâ— woâ—â— I was then cast on thee Thou from my mothers belly art a gracious God to me verse 11 Be thou not far away from me for trouble now is neer Of thee I have great need for none there is to help or hear verse 12 Great many Buls most fiercely have me compassd to confound Strong Buls of Bashan that are strong have still beset me round verse 13 They still upon me with their moÌ„th did gape me to devore Ev'n as a lion fearefully which ravening all doth rore verse 14 I am like water powred out my bones are out of joint In my bowels my heart like wax is melted every point verse 15 Like a potsheard my strength is dri'd my tongue it cleaveth fast Unto my jawes into the dust of death me brought thou hast verse 16 For dogs have compassd me about the wicked that did meet In assembly have me inclosde they pierc'd my hands and feet verse 17 My bones I all may surely tell which are both dry and bare In fury great they fiercely look and al 's upon me stare verse 18 Those cruell men my garments takâ— and part among them all Upon my vesture they cast lots to whom it may be fall verse 19 But now be thou not far O LORD from me with grief opprest O thou who art mine onely strength to help me now make hast verse 20 Deliver from the bloody sword my soul in trembling feare And from the dogs devouring power save thou my darling dear verse 21 Now from the lions cruell moutâ— me save in tymes so hard For from the hornes of Unicornes thou surely hast me heard verse 22 Unto my brethren carefully thy Name declare I will And in the congregation I will praise thee ever still verse 23 All ye that fear the Lord him praise ye seed of Jacob dear Him glorifie and all ye who are Israels seed him fear verse 24 For he hath not despisde nor yet abhorred utterly Th' afflicteds grief nor hid his face but heard when he did cry verse 25 In the great congregation still my praise of thee most dear Shall be I will al 's pay my vowes before them that him fear verse 26 The meek shal eat wel satisfi'd they hearty praise shall give Unto the Lord that him do seek your heart for ay shall live verse 27 The worlds ends all remember shal and turn to GOD therefore The kinreds of the nations all shall worship thee before verse 28 For to the LORD alone by right the kingdome doth belong And he is the great Governour the Nations all among verse 29 All they that be upon the earth fat in prosperity Shall of his good things surely eat and worship chearefully All they that go down to the dust shall bow down him before And none on earth alive his soul shall keep for evermore verse 30 A little seed shall surely him serve in sinceritie It for a generation shall to GOD accounted be verse 31 They shal come his righteousâ— they shall declare anone Unto a people yet unborn that he this all hath done PSALME XXIII THe Lords my shepheard I 'l not waÌ„t verse 2 He makes me by good will ye in green pastures he me leads beside the waters still verse 2 He makes me in the pastures green ly down by his good will He in his mercy doth me lead beside the waters still verse 3 My wearied soul he doth restore he also doth me lead Into the paths of righteousnesse for his Names sake indeed verse 4 Though through the valley of deaths shade I walk I 'l fear no ill Thou art with me thy rod and staffe me comfort ever still verse 5 Thou sets in presence of my foes a table me before Mine head with oyl thou dost anoynt my cup it runneth o're verse 6 Goodnesse and mercy all my life shall neer me follow still And in the house of GOD the LORD for ever dwell I will PSAL. XXIV THe earth the LORDS is properly yea and its fulnesse all The world likwise and also they that dwell there great or small verse 2 For he it firmely on the seas hath founded with his hand And also hath establish'd it upon the floods to stand verse 3 Who is he that shall of the LORD ascend into the hill And who in his most holy place shall constantly stand still verse 4 He that clean hands hath with puâ— heâ— who unto vanitie Hath not with pride lift up his soul nor sworne deceitfullie verse 5 Assuredly he from the LORD the blessing shall receive And from the GOD that saveth him he righteousnesse shall have verse 6 This is the generation now of them that in each place Him seek O Jacob that alwayes do humbly seek thy face verse 7 Ye gates lift up your heads and ye doores everlasting all Be lifted up and then come in the King of glory shall verse 8 Who is the King of glory great the mighty LORD and strong The Lord who still in battell is with might his foes among verse 9 Ye gates lift up your heads and ye doors everlasting all Be lifted up and then come in the King of glory shall verse 10 Who is this King of glory great the Lord who hath as his Most mighty hosts ev'n surely he the King of glory is PSAL. wickednesse at heart After the work of their own hands them render their desert verse 5 Because Gods works they not regard not th' operation all Ev'n of his hands he them destrâ—â— but not build up he shall verse 6 Now blessed be the LORD alwâ— because that surely he Hath of my supplications all the voice heard from on hie verse 7 The LORD he is my onely streâ— and shield in time of need My heart in him did trust and I am helped well indeed Therefore my heart doth greatly rejoice the saints among And al 's I will most thankfully him praise still with my song verse 8 The LORD is still the onely streâ— of all those who are his And he the saving strength also of his Anointed is verse 9 Thy people save and richly blesâ— thine heritage together Feed them also by thy great mighâ— and lift them up for ever PSALME XXIX WIth all your heart give to the Lord O ye that mighty be Both strength and glory give unto the LORD that is most Hie. Unto the Lord the glory due unto his Name accord â— the beauty of holinesse now worship ye the Lord. The Lords voice on the waters is the GOD of glory great â— hundreth aloud the Lord doth on those many waters sit The voice of the almightie LORD is powerfull as we see â—he voice ev'n of the LORD alwaies is full of Majestie The voice of the Almighty LORD doth break the Cedars tall â— a Cedars great in Lebanon God breaks in pieces small He makes them like a calf to skip the loftie Lebanon And like an Unicorn that 's young the mountain Sirion verse 7 The voice of the Almightie Loâ—â— when he is in his ire Doth fiercely strike cut and diviâ—â— the hotest flams of fire verse 8 The voice of the LORD mighâ— the wildernesse doth shake The wildernesse of Kadesh he to tremble all doth make verse 9 The Lord his voice makes Hiâ— discovering forrests bare And in his Temple every one his glory doth declare verse 10 The Lord most glorious sits the flood which he doth coâ— The LORD in a great Majestieâ— still sitteth King for ever verse 11 The LORD will give his strâ— the Lord wil never cease To blesse his people alwaies wâ— prosperitie and peace PSALME XXX EXtoll thee Lord I will for thou hast lift me up on hie And hast not made my scorning foes for to rejoice ov'r me verse 2 O Lord my God in trouble great I cryed unto thee And thou in mercie of my hurt at last hast healed me verse 3 Lord thou my soul up from the grave hast brought as thou though'st fit Thou hast me kept alive that I go not down to the pit verse 4 Oye his saints unto the Lord now sing with chearfulnesse And at the remembrance give thanks of all his holinesse verse 5 His anger for a moment lasts his favour life doth bring Tears in the night may be but joy comes in the morning spring verse 6 And I most foolish rashly said in my prosperitie I am so stablish'd fast that I shall never moved be verse 7 Lord by thy favour thou hast mâ— my mountain in its place Strong for to stand I troubled waâ— when thou didst hide thy face verse 8 O LORD I unto thee alwayes most fervently did cry And I my supplication made unto the LORD most hie verse 9 What profite is there in my bloâ— when naked I and bare Go down to pit Shal dust thee pâ— shall it thy truth declare verse 10 Now hear me Lord for it is â— and on me mercy have In this distresse Lord be thou still my helper me to save verse 11 My mourning into dancing noâ— is turned all by thee Thou hast put off my sackcloath with gladnesse girded me verse 12 To th' end my toÌ„gue may to thee sing praise and not silent be O LORD my GOD for ever I will thanks give unto thee PSAL. XXXI LOrd let me never be asham'd who puts my trust in thee Now in thy perfect righteousnesse do thou deliver me verse 2 Bow down thine ear to me with speed let me deliv'rance have Be thou my strong rock for an house of defence me to save verse 3 For thou in dangers art my rock and fortresse on each side Therefore me lead for thy Names sake and wisely still me guide Pull me out of the net that they laide for me privily For thou alone art my great strength whereon I do rely verse 5 Into thine hand I do commit my sprite which came from thee O LORD who art the GOD of trutâ— thou hast redeemed me verse 6 I have them hated with my heart that in their wayes unjust Still lying vanities regard but in the LORD I trust verse 7 I in thy mercy will rejoice for thou my miseries Considered hast and known my fouâ— in great adversities verse 8 And hast not shut me up into his hand that is my foe Thou hast my feet most freely set in a large rowm to goe verse 9 Have mercy upon me O Lord for in trouble am I Mine eye with grief consum'd is my soul and my belly verse 10 For my whole life with grief is spâ— and yeers with sighs and grones My strength doth fail and for my sinâ— consumed are my bones verse 11 I a reproach was to my foes to neighbours speciallie And to mine acquaintance a fear who saw me fled from me verse 12 I am forgoten as a man that 's out of minde and dead also like a vessell am that 's broken all indeed verse 13 Of many I the slander heard each where me fear supprisde While they took counsell they my life to take away devisde But I O Lord in thee alwayes did trust with all my heart And the in great confidence mine only God thou art â— yea times are in thy hand now from â—y foes hands set me free And froÌ„ all them who with great rage are persecuting me Thy glorious face to shine upon thy servant brightly make And save me in my troubles great ev'n for thy mercies sake verse 17 Let me not be asham'd O Lorâ— for on thee call'd I have Let wicked men be all asham'd and silent in the grave verse 18 All lying lips to silence put which greevous things do speâ— Both proudly and contemptuously ' gainst righteous men and meek verse 19 How great 's thy goodnes which â— laid up for who thee fear And wrought for theÌ„ that in thee â— before mens children here verse 20 Thou shalt them in the secret hiâ— of thy presence from wrongs Of mans pride and close in a tent them keep from strife of tongue verse 21 For ever blessed be the Lord for he to me so long Hath shew'd his kindnesse marvelâ— within a citie strong verse 22 For I said in my hast I am cut off before thine eye Neverthelesse thou heardst my voice when I cri'd unto thee verse 23 O love the Lord all ye his Saints for God the faithfull guards

XLVI TH' Almighty God is our refuge and strength by which we stanâ— In trouble and adversitie a present help at hand verse 2 Therefore we will not fear though that the earth removed be And though the mountaines carri'd all be in the deepest sea verse 3 Though thereof the great waters roar and troubled motions make Thogh with the swelling great thereof the mountains hudge do shake verse 4 A river is whose streams shall make Gods citie glade to be The Tabernacles holy place of him who is most Hie. verse 5 God is ev'n in the midst of her she shall not moved be God in great mercy shall her help this early do shall he verse 6 The heathen rag'd the Kingdomes were all mov'd without delay His voice with such force uttred he the earth did melt away verse 7 The Lord of Hostes is still with us us to defend and judge The mightie GOD of Jacob is in danger our refuge verse 8 Come and behold what wondroâ— works the LORD to passe hath brought What desolations in the earth he in his wrath hath wrought verse 9 To the earths end he maketh wars to cease as men desire He breaks the bow and cuts the speâ— and chariots burns with fire verse 10 Be still and know that GOD I aâ— I will exalted be Among the heathen in the earth I 'le be exalted hie verse 11 The LORD of hosts is still with us to defend and judge The mighty God of Jacob is in danger our refuge PSALME XLVII O All ye people of the earth your hands clap and rejoice Shout unto GOD most chearfullie with a triumphing voice verse 2 For lo the LORD most High alwayes is terrible to see Ov'r all the kingdomes of the earth a great King sure is he verse 3 He wicked people under us his goodnesse for to shew Shall with the nations most profane under our feet subdue verse 4 He shall for our inheritance chuse which none shall remove Of Jacob the excellencie whom he did ever love verse 5 GOD with a shout of Majestie to be gone up is found The LORD is by his people heard ev'n with a Trumpets sound verse 6 To God sing praises with your heâ— unto him praises sing Sing praises both with heart and voicâ— sing praises to our King verse 7 For the great God of all the earth is only King and Lord All they that understanding have sing praise with one accord verse 8 God o're the heathen all doth reigâ— God highly sits upon Of his most perfect holinesse the fair and statelie throne verse 9 The Princes of the people all together as we see Are gathred even the people of Abrahams GOD most hie For certainely of all the earth the shields to God belong He greatly all the Sons of men exalted is among PSAL. LVIII O Congregation do ye still speak righteousnesse indeed O sons of men do ye to judge still uprightly proceed verse 2 Yea in your heart great wickednesse you work in every way And of your hands here in the earth the violence you weigh verse 3 The wicked are ev'n from the womb estrang'd before our eyes They go astray assoone as they be born still speaking lyes verse 4 Most like a serpents poison is the poison that they bear They are even like the adder deaf that stoppeth fast his ear verse 5 Which to the voice of charmers not hearken readilie Though never so wisely they appear in charming for to be verse 6 Break thou O God now in thâ— moâ— their teeth both sharp and stronâ— O Lord the great teeth now break â— of Lions that are yong verse 7 As waters run continuallie so let them melt and fall When as he bends his bow to shooâ— cut them in pieces small verse 8 As melts a snail let ev'ry one of them consumed be Like the untimely birth that they the sun may never see verse 9 Before your pots can feel the thoâ— he shall them all by death As with a whirle wind take away both living and in wrath verse 10 The righteous shal rejoice when thus sees the vengeance meet He in the blood of wicked men shall surely wash his feet verse 11 So verilie a man shall say the just rewarded be Yea verily who in the earth doth judge a God is he PSAL. LIX ME from mine enmies O my God deliver by good will Defend me safely from them that rise up against me still verse 2 From workers of iniquitie deliver me I crave And also by thy mighty arme from bloody men me save verse 3 For lo they for my soul do wait the mighty gathred be Against me Lord not for my fault or any sin in me verse 4 They run and al 's prepare themselves without my fault most bold Awake in time me for to help and also to behold verse 5 LORD GOD of hosts thou Isra'ls awake to visit still The heathen be not mercifull unto transgressours ill verse 6 They at the evening time return they make a noise and sound Most like a dog and thus they goe about the citie round verse 7 Behold they with their filthy mâ— belch out without all feare Sharpe swords are also in their lipâ— for who say they doth heare â— verse 8 But thou O LORD shalt surely â— at them both great and small Thou also in derision shalt have still the heathen all verse 9 Because of his great power streâ— I with great confidence Will wait upon thee ever still for GOD is my defence verse 10 Of my mercy the GOD me shall prevent as I require GOD shall upon mine enmies all let me see my desire verse 11 Not slay them lest my folk forget them who refuse to yeeld By thy might scatter and bring down O LORD our only shield verse 12 For the sin of their vile mouth and words of their lips not meek Let them be taken in their pride who cursing lying speak verse 14 In wrath consume them them consume that they no more may be That God in Jacob rules unto the earths ends let them see

LXVII GOD unto us be mercifull and blesse us with his grace And cause alwayes to shine on us his bright and glorious face verse 2 That thy good way upon the earth to all men may be known And al 's among the nations all thy saving health be shown verse 3 Thee let the people praise O GOD let them all praise thee so verse 4 O let the Nations still be glad and sing for joy also For thou the people righteously shalt judge by thy good will And all the Nations on the earth shalt govern wisely still verse 5 O God thee let the people praise thee praise ev'n let them all verse 6 Then shal the earth her increase yeeld and our God blesse us shall verse 7 God in his mercy surely shall us blesse both far and neere And al 's the ends of all the earth with reverence shall him fear PSAL. CVII VNto the LORD most mercifull O give now thanks together For he is good for his mercy endureth fast for ever verse 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so in all the land Whom safely he redeemed hath even from the enmies hand verse 3 And gathred them out of the lands wherein they were distrest From South and also from the North from East and from the West verse 4 They wandred in the wildernesse a solitarie way They found no city there at all wherein to dwell or stay verse 5 They hungry all and thirsty al 's were forced to lament Their soul in them in this distresse most fearfully yron also bound verse 11 Because against the words of God they still rebelled then And the counsell of the most High they proudly did contemne verse 12 Therefore with labour speedily he then brought down their heart They fel down flat and there was none to help them in their smart verse 13 Then in their trouble to the LORD they fervently did cry And out of their distresses them he saved by and by plant vineyards aboundantly and also sow the field Which may at last most plenteously the fruits of increase yeeld verse 38 He also blesseth them so that they greatly do increase And suffreth not by any hurt their cattell to decrease verse 39 Again they minish'd are and broght down low far from relief Through very great oppression affliction al 's and grief verse 40 On Princes he doth powre CXXX OUt of the deepths I still O Loâ—â— have cryed unto thee verse 2 Lord hear and to my sutes thine eaâ— let them attentive be verse 3 LORD if thou mark iniquities who shall before thee stand verse 4 But that thou mayst be fear'd wiâ— thâ— forgivenesse is at hand verse 5 I wait for GOD my soul doth waiâ— and I hope in the Lord verse 6 More theÌ„ they that for morning watâ— my soul waits for the Lord.
