city_n of_o refuge_n but_o thou_o think_v it_o better_a to_o neglect_v he_o that_o thou_o may_v have_v help_n from_o the_o egyptian_n and_o assyrian_n thou_o seek_v then_o to_o drink_v the_o water_n of_o far_a country_n while_o god_n supply_v thy_o necessity_n with_o sufficiency_n of_o water_n at_o home_n it_o may_v be_v also_o he_o allude_v to_o that_o similitude_n he_o use_v in_o ver_fw-la 13._o he_o there_o call_v god_n the_o fountain_n of_o live_a water_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v god_n will_v be_v to_o thou_o a_o ever-springing_a fountain_n that_o can_v never_o be_v draw_v dry_a neither_o shall_v thou_o ever_o perish_v for_o thirst_n if_o thou_o will_v content_v thyself_o with_o he_o alone_o but_o thou_o thirste_a after_o the_o water_n of_o nilus_n and_o euphrates_n thus_o we_o have_v now_o attain_v the_o prophet_n meaning_n neither_o be_v it_o to_o be_v doubt_v but_o he_o speak_v of_o the_o water_n of_o nilus_n and_o euphrates_n because_o both_o these_o nation_n in_o outward_a appearance_n abound_v in_o all_o sort_n of_o riches_n and_o in_o multitude_n of_o man_n see_v israel_n then_o rely_v upon_o such_o defence_n the_o prophet_n here_o blame_v their_o ingratitude_n in_o that_o they_o satisfy_v not_o themselves_o with_o those_o succour_n which_o god_n afford_v they_o albeit_o the_o same_o appear_v not_o unto_o they_o in_o so_o manifest_a and_o visible_a a_o sort_n as_o the_o other_o do_v instruction_n a_o excellent_a and_o fruitful_a instruction_n for_o in_o god_n we_o have_v all_o sufficiency_n and_o if_o himself_o alone_a can_v content_v we_o certan_o he_o will_v give_v we_o more_o than_o we_o can_v wish_v and_o will_v ever_o supply_v all_o our_o need_n for_o himself_o be_v never_o weary_a of_o well_o do_v he_o will_v bestow_v upon_o we_o whatsoever_o our_o heart_n can_v desire_v but_o because_o we_o can_v perceive_v this_o bounty_n and_o liberality_n towards_o we_o with_o our_o outward_a sense_n that_o make_v we_o run_v so_o greedy_o after_o the_o world_n enticement_n doct._n learn_v we_o hence_o then_o neither_o to_o lust_n after_o the_o water_n of_o nilus_n nor_o euphrates_n that_o be_v to_o say_v after_o the_o deceivable_a allurement_n of_o this_o present_a evil_a world_n which_o carry_v in_o they_o a_o fair_a gloss_n in_o outward_a show_n but_o let_v we_o rather_o thirst_v after_o this_o secret_a and_o hide_a fountain_n note_v which_o be_v therefore_o keep_v close_o from_o our_o bodily_a eye_n that_o we_o may_v seek_v it_o by_o faith_n now_o it_o follow_v verse_n 19_o thou_o own_o wickedness_n shall_v correct_v thou_o and_o thy_o turn_n back_o or_o treason_n shall_v ask_v vengeance_n of_o thou_o and_o thou_o shall_v know_v and_o understand_v that_o it_o be_v a_o evil_a and_o a_o bitter_a thing_n that_o thou_o have_v forsake_v the_o lord_n thy_o god_n and_o that_o my_o fear_n be_v not_o in_o thou_o say_v the_o lord_n god_n of_o host_n the_o prophet_n here_o again_o confirm_v that_o which_o i_o have_v say_v before_o namely_o that_o the_o people_n will_v they_o will_v they_o shall_v in_o the_o end_n feel_v what_o it_o be_v to_o revolt_v from_o god_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v if_o hitherto_o by_o so_o many_o chastisement_n sum_n the_o sum_n thou_o have_v not_o learned_a that_o thy_o treason_n and_o treachery_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o all_o these_o misery_n god_n will_v yet_o add_v judgement_n upon_o judgement_n till_o at_o the_o last_o thou_o be_v enforce_v whether_o thou_o will_v or_o no_o to_o confess_v that_o thou_o receive_v the_o just_a reward_n of_o thy_o iniquity_n this_o be_v the_o sum_n of_o the_o verse_n but_o he_o say_v in_o the_o first_o place_n thy_o wickedness_n shall_v correct_v thou_o as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v albeit_o god_n neither_o ascend_v into_o his_o judgement_n seat_n nor_o stretch_v forth_o his_o hand_n to_o correct_v thou_o yet_o shall_v thy_o iniquity_n testify_v thy_o just_a condemnation_n even_o in_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o sun_n and_o this_o manner_n of_o speak_v be_v more_o forcible_a and_o have_v great_a vehemency_n in_o it_o then_o if_o the_o prophet_n have_v only_o say_v that_o god_n will_v afflict_v his_o people_n just_o thy_o wickedness_n then_o say_v he_o shall_v chastise_v thou_o the_o like_a speech_n there_o be_v also_o in_o a_o manner_n in_o isaiah_n 59.12_o isa_n 3.9_o and_o 59.12_o the_o trial_n of_o their_o countenance_n testify_v against_o they_o as_o if_o the_o lord_n shall_v say_v though_o i_o shall_v sit_v still_o and_o not_o take_v upon_o i_o the_o office_n of_o a_o judge_n though_o no_o man_n shall_v give_v in_o evidence_n against_o thou_o though_o none_o shall_v commence_v any_o action_n at_o all_o against_o thou_o yet_o will_v the_o guilt_n of_o thy_o own_o conscience_n rise_v up_o against_o thou_o and_o will_v put_v thou_o to_o shame_n and_o rebuke_v so_o in_o this_o place_n thy_o own_o wickedness_n shall_v correct_v thou_o now_o we_o be_v to_o see_v the_o reason_n why_o the_o prophet_n say_v this_o for_o it_o be_v most_o certain_a that_o hitherto_o many_o of_o they_o still_o repine_v with_o open_a mouth_n against_o god_n as_o if_o he_o have_v deal_v too_o sharp_o and_o severe_o with_o they_o in_o regard_n therefore_o of_o these_o murmur_n which_o every_o one_o be_v ready_a ever_o and_o anon_o to_o utter_v forth_o against_o god_n the_o prophet_n repel_v such_o slander_n in_o tell_v of_o they_o that_o their_o own_o wickedness_n be_v sufficient_a to_o correct_v they_o thy_o own_o wickedness_n say_v he_o shall_v execute_v against_o thou_o the_o office_n of_o a_o judge_n in_o condemn_v thou_o 17._o verse_n 13._o &_o 17._o he_o say_v the_o same_o of_o their_o turn_n back_o but_o he_o here_o better_o express_v that_o which_o he_o have_v say_v before_o in_o general_a of_o their_o revolt_n from_o god_n service_n and_o obedience_n therefore_o here_o he_o specify_v one_o kind_a of_o wickedness_n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v we_o need_v not_o now_o call_v for_o thy_o accuser_n or_o for_o witness_n or_o for_o a_o judge_n to_o pronounce_v sentence_n thy_o only_a turn_n back_o will_v suffice_v in_o stead_n of_o all_o these_o as_o sufficient_a to_o condemn_v thou_o he_o add_v in_o the_o next_o word_n thou_o shall_v know_v and_o prove_v how_o evil_a and_o bitter_a a_o thing_n it_o be_v to_o have_v forsake_v the_o lord_n thy_o god_n these_o phrase_n of_o speech_n be_v somewhat_o sharp_a but_o we_o tell_v you_o before_o what_o they_o signify_v namely_o thy_o revolt_n or_o forsake_v that_o be_v to_o say_v thy_o treacherous_a disloyalty_n to_o wit_n in_o that_o thou_o have_v forsake_v
