cruel_o oppress_v they_o after_o the_o manner_n of_o egypt_n of_o old_a and_o do_v prove_v false_a brethren_n to_o they_o as_o edom_n do_v of_o old_a will_v certain_o be_v destroy_v and_o that_o utter_o that_o so_o a_o end_n may_v be_v put_v to_o their_o opposition_n for_o egypt_n shall_v be_v a_o desolation_n and_o edom_n shall_v be_v a_o desolate_a wilderness_n or_o make_v void_a of_o inhabitant_n this_o be_v oft_o repeat_v again_o and_o again_o that_o other_o who_o trace_v these_o step_n may_v see_v their_o own_o danger_n beforehand_o and_o study_v to_o prevent_v it_o and_o to_o assure_v the_o godly_a that_o this_o be_v not_o a_o rash_a sentence_n but_o such_o as_o he_o will_v not_o recall_v it_o 2._o a_o people_n opposition_n to_o the_o church_n of_o god_n and_o their_o violence_n and_o cruelty_n towards_o they_o be_v a_o special_a controversy_n which_o god_n will_v prosecute_v for_o this_o sentence_n be_v give_v out_o for_o the_o violence_n against_o the_o child_n of_o judah_n because_o they_o have_v shed_v blood_n etc._n etc._n 3._o the_o lord_n controversy_n against_o his_o people_n for_o sin_n because_o of_o which_o he_o let_v enemy_n loose_a upon_o they_o do_v not_o make_v the_o quarrel_n of_o enemy_n the_o more_o just_a nor_o do_v his_o people_n blood_n which_o they_o shed_v cease_v to_o be_v innocent_a blood_n for_o all_o that_o and_o to_o cry_v for_o vengeance_n upon_o they_o for_o say_v he_o they_o have_v shed_v innocent_a blood_n 4._o if_o this_o that_o they_o have_v shed_v blood_n in_o their_o land_n be_v refer_v to_o egypt_n and_o edom_n that_o they_o be_v cruel_a to_o such_o jew_n as_o live_v in_o exile_n among_o they_o it_o do_v teach_v that_o man_n cruelty_n be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o odious_a before_o god_n when_o it_o be_v second_o part_n of_o the_o verse_n illustrate_v their_o calamity_n by_o the_o simile_n of_o a_o deluge_n and_o as_o before_o the_o land_n tremble_v be_v bring_v in_o to_o point_v out_o the_o commotion_n and_o confusion_n they_o be_v to_o meet_v with_o upon_o it_o so_o also_o these_o thing_n here_o be_v apply_v to_o the_o earth_n which_o befall_v they_o upon_o it_o the_o part_n of_o the_o simile_n be_v 1._o it_o shall_v rise_v up_o whole_o as_o a_o flood_n or_o as_o with_o a_o flood_n and_o the_o meaning_n be_v that_o as_o water_n rise_v up_o and_o cover_v a_o land_n for_o so_o the_o sense_n be_v though_o the_o land_n be_v say_v to_o rise_v up_o so_o shall_v their_o land_n be_v overflow_v with_o calamity_n that_o they_o can_v not_o abide_v on_o it_o and_o as_o the_o original_a word_n will_v also_o bear_v in_o shall_v evanish_v and_o come_v to_o nothing_o as_o with_o a_o flood_n that_o be_v it_o shall_v be_v so_o cover_v as_o not_o to_o appear_v and_o they_o have_v no_o more_o use_n of_o it_o then_o if_o it_o be_v not_o 2._o if_o shall_v be_v cast_v out_o that_o be_v as_o the_o sea_n and_o deluge_n be_v restless_a and_o do_v still_o toss_v and_o cast_v out_o the_o slime_n and_o mire_n which_o they_o raise_v and_o so_o the_o same_o word_n be_v express_v isa_n 57_o 20._o so_o the_o land_n shall_v be_v shake_v and_o disquiet_v with_o trouble_n that_o it_o may_v spew_v they_o out_o leu._n 20.22_o 3._o which_o clear_v all_o the_o former_a it_o shall_v be_v drown_v as_o by_o the_o flood_n of_o egypt_n so_o that_o they_o can_v dwell_v on_o it_o doct._n 1._o a_o day_n of_o rebuke_n and_o how_o sad_a that_o plead_n will_v be_v therefore_o be_v they_o so_o often_o put_v to_o it_o in_o this_o matter_n by_o these_o question_n 2._o albeit_o the_o lord_n servant_n be_v account_v by_o reason_n of_o their_o faithful_a doctrine_n the_o disturber_n of_o the_o earth_n as_o chap._n 7.10_o act_n 17.6_o yet_o it_o be_v man_n own_o sin_n that_o disturb_v it_o perpetual_o quake_v till_o it_o swallow_v they_o as_o num._n 16.31_o 32._o 4._o albeit_o sinner_n when_o they_o see_v that_o stroke_n will_v come_v on_o will_v not_o be_v move_v for_o all_o that_o but_o be_v ready_a to_o harden_v themselves_o against_o they_o yet_o god_n will_v make_v they_o to_o smart_v under_o his_o rod_n and_o he_o will_v do_v so_o to_o all_o who_o be_v guilty_a as_o well_o as_o to_o one_o for_o every_o one_o shall_v mourn_v that_o dwell_v therein_o 5._o when_o man_n settle_v upon_o their_o dregs_o and_o seek_v to_o root_v themselves_o in_o the_o earth_n it_o be_v righteous_a with_o god_n to_o give_v they_o a_o disappointment_n and_o that_o he_o send_v calamity_n comparable_a to_o the_o great_a accident_n in_o the_o world_n to_o shake_v they_o out_o of_o their_o nest_n and_o to_o overflow_v all_o their_o enjoyment_n so_o much_o be_v intimate_v in_o that_o it_o shall_v rise_v up_o whole_o as_o a_o flood_n and_o it_o shall_v be_v cast_v out_o and_o drown_v as_o by_o the_o flood_n of_o egypt_n verse_n 9_o and_o it_o shall_v come_v to_o pass_v in_o that_o day_n say_v the_o lord_n that_o i_o will_v cause_v the_o sun_n to_o go_v down_o at_o noon_n and_o i_o will_v darken_v the_o earth_n in_o the_o clear_a day_n in_o the_o three_o place_n whereas_o they_o trust_v in_o their_o prosperous_a and_o comfortable_a condition_n the_o lord_n threaten_v to_o send_v a_o sudden_a change_n like_o a_o sun_n set_v at_o noonday_n or_o some_o sudden_a darken_n of_o the_o earth_n in_o daytime_n whence_o learn_v 1._o sinner_n by_o god_n permission_n and_o long-suffering_a may_v enjoy_v a_o very_a prosperous_a and_o comfortable_a outward_a condition_n and_o this_o may_v get_v time_n to_o continue_v and_o increase_v till_o it_o come_v to_o a_o height_n and_o prime_n for_o so_o be_v import_v they_o have_v a_o noon_n and_o clear_a day_n 2._o albeit_o sinner_n do_v rest_n and_o lean_v on_o such_o a_o condition_n yet_o it_o can_v secure_v they_o against_o god_n but_o he_o be_v provoke_v to_o make_v the_o very_a height_n of_o their_o prosperity_n the_o time_n of_o the_o sad_a change_n of_o their_o condition_n and_o to_o surprise_v they_o with_o a_o stroke_n when_o they_o do_v least_o expect_v it_o for_o the_o lord_n god_n will_v cause_v the_o sun_n to_o go_v down_o at_o noon_n and_o darken_v the_o earth_n in_o the_o clear_a day_n see_v jer._n 15.9_o 3_o time_n of_o calamity_n and_o real_a desertion_n will_v prove_v very_o sad_a to_o the_o impenitent_a and_o wicked_a and_o so_o much_o the_o bitter_a as_o their_o condition_n have_v be_v better_a outward_o therefore_o be_v their_o condition_n compare_v to_o a_o sunset_n and_o darken_a earth_n and_o that_o at_o noon_n and_o when_o the_o day_n have_v be_v clear_a verse_n 10._o and_o i_o will_v turn_v your_o feast_n into_o mourning_n and_o all_o your_o song_n into_o lamentation_n and_o i_o will_v bring_v up_o sackcloth_n upon_o all_o loin_n and_o baldness_n upon_o every_o head_n and_o i_o will_v make_v it_o as_o the_o mourning_n of_o a_o only_a son_n and_o the_o end_n thereof_o as_o a_o bitter_a day_n four_o it_o be_v threaten_v that_o by_o these_o trouble_n their_o former_a joy_n shall_v turn_v into_o general_a sorrow_n such_o as_o no_o sign_n can_v sufficient_o express_v and_o which_o shall_v be_v comparable_a to_o the_o great_a of_o worldly_a sorrow_n and_o continue_v all_o their_o day_n and_o be_v transmit_v to_o their_o posterity_n whence_o learn_v 1._o the_o joy_n and_o mirth_n of_o wicked_a man_n be_v it_o never_o so_o great_a shall_v end_v in_o sorrow_n and_o god_n will_v reach_v all_o of_o they_o and_o all_o their_o joy_n to_o put_v a_o end_n to_o it_o for_o i_o will_v turn_v your_o feast_n into_o mourning_n and_o all_o your_o song_n into_o lamentation_n 2._o the_o sorrow_n of_o wicked_a man_n who_o will_v not_o be_v sensible_a of_o nor_o mourn_v for_o sin_n will_n in_o god_n justice_n be_v make_v very_o great_a and_o bitter_a unto_o they_o so_o that_o all_o sign_n of_o sackcloth_n on_o their_o loin_n of_o which_o frequent_o in_o scripture_n and_o baldness_n of_o which_o mâ—â—_n 1.16_o shall_v be_v little_a enough_o or_o too_o little_a to_o express_v it_o and_o for_o the_o measure_n thereof_o it_o shall_v be_v as_o the_o mourning_n of_o a_o only_a son_n of_o which_o see_v zech._n 12.10_o 3._o it_o be_v righteous_a they_o to_o posterity_n for_o the_o end_n thereof_o shall_v be_v as_o a_o bitter_a day_n that_o be_v when_o they_o expect_v a_o issue_n they_o shall_v find_v bitterness_n and_o they_o shall_v come_v to_o a_o end_n under_o the_o bitterness_n thereof_o verse_n 11._o behold_v the_o day_n come_v say_v the_o lord_n god_n that_o i_o will_v send_v a_o famine_n in_o the_o land_n not_o a_o famine_n of_o bread_n nor_o a_o thirst_n for_o water_n but_o of_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n 12._o and_o they_o shall_v wander_v from_o sea_n to_o sea_n and_o from_o the_o north_n even_o to_o the_o east_n
