be_v the_o effect_n and_o fruit_n of_o your_o wise_a preach_n by_o way_n of_o use_n and_o doctrine_n which_o you_o have_v learn_v at_o the_o holy_a university_n you_o so_o much_o boast_v of_o but_o shall_v be_v your_o overthrow_n but_o friend_n i_o will_v not_o have_v you_o in_o the_o least_o to_o mistake_v i_o in_o what_o i_o write_v in_o general_a to_o you_o for_o no_o truth_n be_v so_o general_a but_o there_o may_v be_v some_o particular_a exception_n admit_v in_o it_o so_o in_o this_o that_o i_o have_v write_v to_o you_o for_o though_o i_o express_v you_o all_o in_o general_n yet_o my_o charity_n cause_v i_o to_o admit_v of_o some_o particular_a exception_n of_o some_o among_o you_o in_o some_o respect_n for_o far_o be_v it_o from_o i_o to_o condemn_v the_o truth_n in_o any_o confess_v that_o many_o of_o you_o have_v wit_n and_o scholarship_n enough_o to_o maintain_v argument_n with_o papist_n and_o any_o other_o formalist_n that_o differ_v in_o judgement_n with_o you_o where_o the_o power_n of_o truth_n be_v want_v in_o any_o of_o you_o though_o you_o have_v the_o form_n of_o truth_n yet_o be_v you_o none_o of_o those_o who_o god_n call_v into_o the_o ministry_n but_o you_o shall_v one_o day_n be_v judge_v and_o condemn_v as_o thief_n who_o come_v not_o in_o at_o the_o door_n but_o by_o some_o other_o way_n though_o you_o put_v this_o off_o yourselves_o and_o apply_v it_o to_o other_o who_o the_o lord_n have_v raise_v of_o his_o own_o accord_n to_o speak_v what_o they_o know_v of_o god_n and_o have_v in_o some_o measure_n receive_v the_o truth_n and_o can_v bear_v witness_n to_o the_o truth_n and_o by_o these_o your_o falsehood_n become_v to_o be_v somewhat_o discover_v and_o therefore_o great_a be_v your_o malice_n and_o envy_n against_o they_o which_o do_v give_v and_o communicate_v itself_o into_o the_o grain_n cast_v into_o it_o whereby_o the_o same_o receive_v life_n and_o so_o be_v bring_v out_o and_o bring_v on_o still_o to_o its_o typify_v what_o be_v the_o virtue_n of_o himself_o and_o therefore_o he_o say_v by_o way_n of_o metaphor_n this_o be_v my_o body_n etc._n etc._n now_o the_o body_n of_o christ_n typify_v by_o bread_n in_o matter_n and_o likeness_n in_o the_o coporality_n so_o christ_n and_o the_o father_n be_v distinct_a in_o respect_n of_o the_o matter_n and_o likeness_n in_o the_o corporality_n viz._n the_o flesh_n while_o he_o live_v in_o it_o but_o do_v not_o differ_v from_o the_o father_n in_o union_n as_o himself_o faith_n joh._n 14.11_o which_o unity_n consist_v of_o the_o original_a communion_n the_o divine_a nature_n this_o be_v leave_v to_o be_v as_o a_o mark_n in_o the_o way_n least_o by_o forgetfulness_n man_n may_v happy_o step_v out_o of_o their_o way_n in_o follow_v he_o to_o the_o death_n of_o the_o cross_n and_o that_o be_v the_o chies_a thing_n which_o he_o command_v and_o will_v have_v they_o to_o remember_v and_o christ_n leave_v not_o this_o type_n only_o but_o he_o make_v to_o they_o who_o be_v his_o follower_n a_o promise_n of_o send_v the_o spirit_n to_o they_o who_o when_o he_o come_v shall_v bring_v all_o that_o he_o have_v say_v into_o their_o remembrance_n jo._n and_o so_o into_o the_o resurrection_n of_o jesus_n christ_n from_o the_o dead_a viz._n not_o to_o look_v at_o christ_n in_o the_o flesh_n but_o in_o the_o divine_a nature_n by_o the_o power_n of_o which_o the_o soul_n be_v compass_v about_o and_o save_v from_o the_o danger_n of_o all_o thing_n act_v or_o create_v and_o thus_o far_o baptism_n save_v so_o far_o as_o the_o weakness_n of_o it_o be_v know_v and_o the_o danger_n in_o it_o manifest_v and_o so_o become_v instrumental_a to_o direct_v and_o drive_v the_o soul_n out_o of_o itself_o into_o the_o thing_n signify_v but_o as_o the_o water_n destroy_v all_o that_o abode_n in_o it_o without_o the_o ark_n even_o so_o do_v baptism_n destroy_v all_o soul_n who_o live_v in_o the_o form_n or_o type_n thereof_o and_o yet_o be_v not_o enclose_v about_o or_o incorporate_v into_o the_o death_n and_o resurrection_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o abide_v in_o he_o according_a as_o he_o be_v in_o the_o divine_a nature_n and_o as_o the_o person_n can_v not_o be_v save_v if_o they_o keep_v not_o in_o the_o ark_n no_o more_o can_v any_o foul_a be_v safe_a but_o as_o it_o abide_v in_o the_o divine_a nature_n as_o the_o branch_n in_o the_o vine_n jo._n 15.1_o 2._o but_o i_o say_v no_o more_o at_o present_a of_o this_o type_n of_o baptism_n because_o it_o may_v be_v you_o shall_v hear_v somewhat_o more_o of_o it_o afterward_o and_o i_o hope_v by_o what_o be_v say_v you_o may_v partly_o understand_v your_o error_n in_o your_o foolish_a conclusion_n upon_o it_o and_o not_o to_o be_v deceive_v by_o the_o false_a lie_a spirit_n of_o in_o scripture_n for_o it_o and_o many_o example_n also_o but_o for_o set_v time_n and_o set_v form_n and_o in_o prayer_n you_o have_v none_o according_a as_o you_o use_v it_o as_o for_o the_o time_n of_o prayer_n which_o you_o use_v viz._n usual_o evening_n and_o morning_n you_o have_v neither_o command_n nor_o example_n in_o scripture_n but_o only_o this_o you_o follow_v by_o tradition_n and_o be_v lead_v to_o observe_v the_o same_o by_o your_o good_a think_n and_o the_o obligation_n of_o your_o blind_a conscience_n be_v wrong_n inform_v by_o the_o doctor_n of_o error_n who_o limit_v the_o holy_a one_o of_o israel_n and_o circumscribe_v he_o in_o a_o place_n and_o draw_v form_n and_o image_n of_o he_o according_a to_o their_o fancy_n and_o imagination_n and_o so_o have_v frame_v a_o fantastical_a or_o imaginary_a worship_n to_o he_o and_o in_o that_o fantastic_a way_n have_v learned_a to_o call_v upon_o he_o and_o so_o have_v set_v out_o to_o yourselves_o these_o set_a time_n at_o which_o time_n you_o can_v call_v upon_o your_o imaginary_a god_n that_o he_o will_v hear_v your_o feign_a prayer_n and_o forgive_v you_o your_o conceit_a sin_n and_o supply_v the_o imaginary_a want_n of_o your_o soul_n and_o likewise_o you_o can_v praise_v he_o for_o his_o imaginary_a mercy_n bestow_v upon_o your_o soul_n and_o add_v to_o these_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o other_o hypocritical_a repetition_n to_o fill_v up_o your_o hour_n and_o when_o that_o be_v do_v then_o all_o be_v well_o with_o you_o and_o then_o heart_n go_v whether_o thou_o will_v with_o thy_o affection_n for_o holy_a duty_n it_o be_v perform_v and_o so_o by_o this_o mean_v your_o heart_n be_v let_v out_o to_o go_v a_o whore_v all_o the_o day_n long_o and_o seek_v fellowship_n and_o communion_n with_o and_o in_o create_a thing_n and_o so_o your_o thought_n fear_n care_n lover_n and_o desire_n be_v carry_v after_o your_o chief_a god_n viz._n the_o world_n or_o something_o contain_v in_o it_o for_o it_o be_v your_o treasure_n it_o have_v your_o heart_n for_o where_o the_o treasure_n be_v there_o be_v your_o heart_n mat._n 6.21_o and_o look_v what_o have_v most_o of_o your_o thought_n that_o be_v your_o god_n and_o if_o you_o look_v into_o yourselves_o you_o shall_v find_v that_o the_o creature_n have_v more_o of_o your_o thought_n then_o that_o god_n you_o pray_v to_o in_o the_o morning_n but_o it_o matter_v not_o what_o your_o heart_n be_v about_o all_o the_o day_n long_o for_o you_o have_v that_o at_o command_n which_o will_v cure_v all_o and_o that_o be_v your_o evening_n sacrifice_n and_o duty_n of_o prayer_n and_o from_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o you_o by_o your_o choose_a time_n for_o prayer_n have_v become_v ignorant_a of_o the_o ground_n of_o prayer_n and_o have_v forsake_v the_o ground_n of_o prayer_n and_o choose_v to_o yourselves_o a_o set_a time_n for_o prayer_n the_o contrary_a effect_n be_v produce_v viz._n prayer_n proceed_v from_o the_o right_a ground_n be_v a_o mean_a whereby_o sin_n be_v keep_v from_o the_o heart_n and_o affection_n and_o the_o heart_n with_o the_o affection_n be_v keep_v from_o sin_n but_o when_o the_o ground_n be_v change_v into_o set_a time_n thereby_o the_o heart_n with_o the_o affection_n get_v liberty_n to_o sin_n and_o the_o creature_n have_v freedom_n to_o enter_v

upon_o the_o heart_n and_o thus_o your_o prayer_n be_v turn_v into_o sin_n and_o this_o you_o have_v by_o ask_v and_o receive_v counsel_n of_o your_o blind_a priest_n and_o hereby_o you_o make_v a_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v create_v for_o satisfy_v the_o belly_n from_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o the_o belly_n be_v the_o chief_a god_n that_o all_o these_o superfluity_n be_v provide_v for_o it_o and_o so_o many_o several_a dish_n when_o one_o of_o they_o will_v serve_v nature_n and_o for_o uphold_v the_o worship_n of_o this_o god_n what_o care_n fear_v and_o desire_v labour_n and_o watch_v and_o wait_v yea_o some_o for_o the_o worship_n and_o service_n they_o owe_v to_o this_o god_n sacrifice_v all_o their_o whole_a estate_n and_o some_o for_o this_o service_n will_v oppress_v their_o fellow_n creature_n and_o some_o for_o this_o service_n labour_n day_n and_o night_n both_o in_o body_n and_o mind_n and_o all_o little_a enough_o to_o satisfy_v this_o hungry_a god_n and_o whatsoever_o belong_v to_o the_o back_n have_v a_o relation_n to_o the_o belly_n and_o these_o two_o agree_v in_o one_o in_o their_o requiring_n as_o they_o become_v god_n and_o so_o to_z and_z for_o their_o worship_n through_o the_o command_a power_n of_o lust_n put_v in_o action_n all_o the_o affection_n sense_n and_o member_n of_o the_o body_n and_o soul_n and_o so_o it_o be_v that_o so_o many_o foolish_a fantastic_a fashion_n and_o superfluous_a habit_n become_v wear_v in_o these_o day_n so_o that_o i_o much_o fear_v this_o god_n have_v great_a power_n and_o be_v much_o worship_v in_o our_o time_n yea_o more_o than_o heretofore_o and_o as_o man_n have_v power_n in_o their_o hand_n viz._n the_o riches_n of_o this_o world_n they_o become_v the_o great_a provider_n for_o this_o god_n sacrifice_n and_o then_o they_o become_v to_o have_v the_o second_o character_n set_v upon_o they_o viz._n they_o glory_v in_o their_o shame_n be_v not_o this_o to_o be_v see_v in_o our_o day_n among_o most_o sort_n of_o those_o we_o call_v professor_n how_o they_o be_v carry_v out_o to_o worship_n back_o and_o belly_n as_o be_v before_o say_v but_o especial_o among_o those_o who_o be_v rich_a in_o the_o world_n have_v such_o sumptuous_a and_o excessive_a table_n and_o all_o thing_n suitable_a for_o the_o uphold_v of_o the_o lust_n of_o the_o eye_n &_o yet_o do_v they_o not_o see_v very_o many_o of_o their_o fellow_n creature_n like_v to_o starve_v both_o for_o meat_n and_o clothing_n and_o yet_o they_o can_v look_v upon_o they_o with_o a_o light_n look_v and_o very_o little_a compassion_n and_o the_o reason_n be_v that_o which_o they_o have_v they_o must_v keep_v for_o sacrifice_n for_o their_o god_n and_o the_o rest_n they_o must_v keep_v for_o themselves_o to_o glory_n in_o for_o the_o very_a sight_n of_o rich_a superfluity_n lift_v up_o the_o heart_n and_o the_o thought_n thereof_o do_v yield_v they_o comfort_n and_o the_o have_v and_o possess_v of_o these_o thing_n win_v the_o praise_n of_o such_o fool_n as_o themselves_o and_o in_o all_o these_o they_o glory_n and_o yet_o all_o they_o glory_n in_o be_v but_o their_o shame_n yea_o and_o abominable_a shame_n too_o both_o in_o the_o eye_n of_o god_n and_o in_o the_o eye_n of_o those_o who_o be_v wean_v from_o such_o thing_n and_o by_o the_o cross_n have_v crucify_v these_o thing_n be_v it_o not_o a_o shame_n to_o have_v the_o creature_n of_o god_n in_o abundance_n and_o so_o many_o like_a to_o starve_v for_o want_v and_o yet_o the_o bowel_n of_o compassion_n shut_v up_o against_o they_o ought_v but_o who_o be_v it_o that_o will_v believe_v the_o truth_n hereof_o for_o the_o son_n of_o man_n be_v blind_v of_o the_o right_a sight_n and_o knowledge_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o love_n they_o have_v to_o lust_n sin_n and_o selfness_n they_o be_v become_v enemy_n of_o the_o cross_n of_o christ_n and_o if_o any_o have_v attain_v to_o the_o first_o dispensation_n beforesaid_a they_o think_v themselves_o to_o have_v attain_v all_o that_o be_v necessary_a and_o that_o they_o need_v no_o more_o and_o so_o become_v to_o settle_v upon_o the_o lees_n enjoyment_n they_o in_o a_o very_a short_a time_n become_v to_o be_v cast_v out_o of_o that_o enjoyment_n and_o yet_o do_v they_o not_o know_v that_o they_o be_v so_o cast_v out_o because_o of_o the_o false_a fiend_n who_o have_v get_v again_o into_o the_o house_n from_o whence_o he_o be_v go_v out_o and_o counterfeit_v god_n through_o the_o help_n of_o the_o imagination_n and_o so_o make_v these_o soul_n believe_v that_o god_n be_v their_o present_a portion_n and_o that_o they_o have_v such_o a_o fast_o thank_v of_o he_o that_o nothing_o can_v be_v able_a to_o separate_v they_o when_o at_o that_o very_a instant_n of_o time_n the_o heart_n be_v in_o captivity_n with_o the_o creature_n i_o fear_v that_o this_o be_v the_o very_a condition_n of_o many_o now_o adays_o who_o have_v know_v god_n after_o this_o manner_n beforesaid_a and_o yet_o have_v forsake_v he_o again_o and_o turn_v to_o the_o creature_n and_o yet_o do_v but_o little_a know_v that_o they_o be_v so_o far_o carry_v away_o from_o god_n as_o they_o be_v but_o when_o god_n in_o his_o orderly_a proceed_n go_v on_o in_o bring_v the_o soul_n through_o all_o the_o danger_n and_o difficulty_n of_o the_o creature_n and_o self_n then_o do_v he_o not_o suffer_v the_o soul_n to_o have_v what_o it_o will_v have_v nor_o enjoy_v what_o it_o will_v enjoy_v in_o that_o first_o manifestation_n of_o himself_o in_o the_o name_n this_o be_v the_o very_a baptism_n the_o apostle_n paul_n speak_v of_o when_o he_o say_v know_v you_o not_o so_o many_o of_o we_o as_o be_v baptize_v into_o christ_n be_v baptize_v into_o his_o death_n therefore_o we_o be_v bury_v with_o he_o by_o baptism_n into_o his_o death_n etc._n etc._n for_o if_o we_o have_v be_v plant_v together_o into_o the_o likeness_n of_o his_o death_n we_o think_v you_o do_v a_o great_a piece_n of_o god_n service_n herein_o be_v judge_v yourselves_o i_o will_v know_v of_o you_o whether_o act_v or_o believe_v be_v the_o first_o bring_v out_o in_o any_o man_n if_o you_o say_v faith_n i_o will_v know_v what_o faith_n it_o be_v for_o the_o justify_v faith_n it_o can_v be_v for_o that_o be_v manifest_a after_o work_n and_o never_o do_v any_o man_n
