among_o equal_n and_o those_o that_o stand_v not_o in_o need_n of_o one_o another_o as_o for_o those_o that_o be_v far_o inferior_a it_o be_v pride_n with_o they_o to_o be_v unwilling_a to_o receive_v courresy_n or_o reward_n for_o wherefore_o be_v any_o advance_v in_o place_n but_o that_o they_o may_v do_v good_a to_o those_o that_o be_v below_o they_o it_o be_v no_o dishonour_n at_o all_o for_o a_o poor_a man_n that_o want_v bread_n to_o hire_v our_o his_o labour_n for_o a_o reward_n nor_o for_o a_o child_n that_o be_v bind_v to_o do_v what_o his_o facher_n command_v to_o be_v encourage_v by_o any_o reward_n that_o his_o father_n propose_v to_o any_o action_n now_o let_v we_o apply_v these_o thing_n to_o the_o business_n before_o we_o and_o we_o shall_v see_v how_o ill_o or_o how_o well_o mercenariness_n become_v we_o in_o our_o service_n of_o god_n first_o of_o all_o we_o be_v not_o here_o to_o consider_v the_o saint_n as_o do_v evil_a thing_n for_o a_o reward_n that_o be_v the_o worst_a mercenariness_n of_o all_o no_o but_o they_o serve_v god_n for_o a_o reward_n now_o wherein_o can_v the_o sordidness_n of_o this_o spirit_n lie_v be_v it_o that_o we_o need_v not_o to_o receive_v courtesy_n at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n or_o that_o we_o can_v endure_v to_o receive_v a_o courtesy_n which_o we_o know_v we_o be_v not_o able_a to_o requite_v such_o a_o struin_n of_o nobleness_n there_o be_v sometime_o find_v among_o man_n out_o if_o we_o shall_v aim_v at_o such_o a_o strain_n of_o nobleness_n with_o god_n how_o will_v such_o man_n ever_o offer_v to_o receive_v heaven_n especial_o when_o they_o do_v not_o work_v for_o it_o which_o make_v it_o far_o more_o oblige_v true_o in_o my_o mind_n it_o be_v very_o high_a pride_n for_o a_o poor_a creature_n that_o be_v poor_a and_o blind_a and_o naked_a and_o in_o want_n of_o all_o thing_n that_o when_o god_n offer_v to_o supply_v his_o poverty_n to_o cure_v his_o blindness_n to_o cover_v his_o nakedness_n he_o shall_v not_o be_v exceed_o overjoy_v at_o it_o and_o see_v that_o these_o supply_n be_v of_o this_o nature_n that_o they_o can_v be_v complete_o obtain_v till_o we_o come_v to_o heaven_n nor_o yet_o particular_a to_o show_v it_o in_o this_o now_o i_o suppose_v this_o be_v be_v the_o great_a reason_n why_o there_o be_v need_n of_o a_o further_a principle_n beside_o those_o three_o for_o that_o a_o man_n may_v act_v by_o all_o those_o three_o principle_n and_o yet_o be_v under_o a_o spirit_n of_o bondage_n now_o there_o must_v be_v some_o principle_n to_o free_v the_o soul_n from_o this_o bondage_n or_o else_o the_o soul_n can_v never_o serve_v god_n acceptable_o this_o principle_n must_v be_v love_n perfect_a love_n cast_v out_o fear_n first_o all_o slavish_a fear_n of_o god_n than_o the_o fear_n of_o man_n he_o that_o fear_v be_v not_o make_v perfect_a in_o love_n look_v to_o what_o degree_n the_o love_n of_o god_n be_v in_o the_o soul_n to_o such_o degree_n be_v the_o slavish_a other_o occasion_n or_o reason_n then_o from_o their_o unreasonable_a conception_n their_o over-timorous_a and_o dreadful_a apprehension_n of_o god_n they_o have_v some_o secret_a fear_n and_o doubt_n of_o his_o goodness_n that_o he_o will_v never_o be_v please_v though_o they_o make_v their_o way_n never_o so_o perfect_a before_o he_o though_o they_o humble_v themselves_o though_o they_o in_o which_o it_o be_v at_o any_o time_n intelligible_a and_o therefore_o for_o these_o man_n that_o speak_v against_o reason_n in_o religion_n they_o do_v but_o go_v about_o to_o unman_v we_o while_o they_o pretend_v to_o make_v we_o christian_n and_o they_o rob_v god_n of_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o wisdom_n the_o honour_n of_o which_o as_o it_o be_v give_v by_o we_o can_v be_v otherwise_o right_o and_o acceptable_o ascribe_v then_o as_o we_o understand_v how_o this_o wisdom_n discover_v itself_o in_o the_o several_a design_n and_o effect_n of_o it_o which_o understanding_n be_v by_o no_o other_o faculty_n in_o we_o but_o that_o of_o our_o reason_n though_o it_o need_v be_v elevate_v and_o strengthen_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o such_o act_n of_o our_o understanding_n the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n therefore_o in_o this_o gospel-way_n of_o justification_n be_v very_o conspicuous_a not_o only_o in_o that_o god_n have_v in_o this_o way_n make_v many_o attribute_n illustrious_a together_o but_o in_o that_o the_o way_n itself_o be_v such_o as_o be_v most_o apposite_a to_o attain_v the_o end_n viz._n to_o justify_v man_n which_o be_v the_o high_a commendation_n of_o the_o prudence_n of_o any_o design_n let_v we_o therefore_o be_v persuade_v to_o admire_v the_o wisdom_n and_o prudence_n wherein_o god_n have_v abound_v towards_o we_o in_o this_o way_n of_o faith_n which_o certain_o if_o we_o study_v more_o we_o shall_v be_v abundant_o more_o affect_v with_o even_o from_o our_o own_o conviction_n of_o the_o wisdom_n of_o it_o and_o make_v to_o cry_v out_o with_o the_o apostle_n paul_n 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d o_o the_o depth_n of_o the_o riches_n both_o of_o the_o wisdom_n and_o knowledge_n of_o god_n how_o unsearchable_a be_v his_o judgement_n and_o
