because_o a_o man_n be_v capable_a of_o receive_v wrong_n in_o several_a respect_n this_o first_o part_n of_o justice_n extend_v itself_o into_o several_a branch_n answerable_a to_o those_o capacity_n of_o injury_n a_o man_n may_v be_v injure_v either_o in_o his_o soul_n his_o body_n his_o possession_n or_o credit_n and_o therefore_o this_o duty_n of_o negative_a justice_n lay_v a_o restraint_n on_o we_o in_o every_o of_o these_o that_o we_o do_v no_o wrong_n to_o any_o man_n in_o respect_n either_o of_o his_o soul_n his_o body_n his_o possession_n or_o credit_n 3._o first_o this_o justice_n tie_v we_o to_o do_v no_o soul_n hurt_n to_o his_o soul_n and_o here_o my_o first_o work_n must_v be_v to_o examine_v what_o harm_n it_o be_v that_o the_o soul_n can_v receive_v it_o be_v we_o know_v a_o invisible_a substance_n which_o we_o can_v reach_v with_o our_o eye_n much_o less_o with_o our_o sword_n and_o weapon_n yet_o for_o all_o that_o it_o be_v capable_a of_o be_v hurt_v and_o wound_v and_o that_o even_o to_o death_n 4._o now_o the_o soul_n may_v be_v consider_v either_o sense_n in_o a_o natural_a or_o spiritual_a sense_n in_o the_o natural_a it_o signify_v that_o which_o we_o usual_o call_v the_o mind_n of_o a_o man_n and_o this_o we_o all_o know_v may_v be_v wound_v with_o gry_n or_o sadness_n as_o solomon_n say_v prov._n 15._o 13._o by_o sorrow_n of_o heart_n the_o spirit_n be_v break_v therefore_o whoever_o do_v causeless_o afflict_v or_o grieve_v his_o neighbour_n he_o transgress_v this_o part_n of_o justice_n and_o hurt_n and_o wrong_v his_o soul._n this_o sort_n of_o injury_n malicious_a and_o spiteful_a man_n be_v very_o often_o guilty_a of_o they_o will_v do_v thing_n by_o which_o themselves_o reap_v no_o good_a nay_o often_o much_o harm_n only_o that_o they_o may_v vex_v and_o grieve_v another_o this_o be_v a_o most_o savage_a inhuman_a humour_n thus_o to_o take_v pleasure_n in_o the_o sadness_n and_o affliction_n of_o other_o and_o whoever_o harbour_v it_o in_o his_o heart_n may_v true_o be_v say_v to_o be_v possess_v with_o a_o devil_n for_o it_o be_v the_o nature_n only_o of_o those_o accurse_a spirit_n to_o delight_v in_o the_o misery_n of_o man_n and_o till_o that_o be_v cast_v out_o they_o be_v fit_v only_o to_o dwell_v as_o the_o possess_v person_n do_v mar_n 5._o 2._o among_o grave_n and_o tomb_n where_o there_o be_v none_o capable_a of_o receive_v affliction_n by_o they_o 5._o but_o the_o soul_n may_v be_v consider_v also_o in_o the_o spiritual_a spiritual_a sense_n and_o so_o it_o signify_v that_o immortal_a part_n of_o we_o which_o must_v live_v eternal_o either_o in_o bliss_n or_o woe_n in_o another_o world_n and_o the_o soul_n thus_o understand_v be_v capable_a of_o two_o sort_n of_o harm_n first_o that_o of_o sin_n second_o that_o of_o punishment_n the_o latter_a whereof_o be_v certain_o the_o consequent_a of_o the_o former_a and_o therefore_o though_o god_n be_v the_o inflict_a of_o punishment_n yet_o since_o it_o be_v but_o the_o effect_n of_o sin_n we_o may_v just_o reckon_v that_o he_o that_o draw_v a_o man_n to_o sin_n be_v likewise_o the_o betrayer_n of_o he_o to_o
