what_o the_o fellowship_n of_o his_o suffering_n be_v nor_o what_o the_o virtual_a power_n of_o his_o resurrection_n mean_v and_o so_o it_o be_v that_o from_o the_o idolize_v of_o that_o present_a enjoyment_n they_o in_o a_o very_a short_a time_n become_v to_o be_v cast_v out_o of_o that_o enjoyment_n and_o yet_o do_v they_o not_o know_v that_o they_o be_v so_o cast_v out_o because_o of_o the_o false_a fiend_n who_o have_v get_v again_o into_o the_o house_n from_o whence_o he_o be_v go_v out_o and_o counterfeit_v god_n through_o the_o help_n of_o the_o imagination_n and_o so_o make_v these_o soul_n believe_v that_o god_n be_v their_o present_a portion_n and_o that_o they_o have_v such_o a_o fast_o thank_v of_o he_o that_o nothing_o can_v be_v able_a to_o separate_v they_o when_o at_o that_o very_a instant_n of_o time_n the_o heart_n be_v in_o captivity_n with_o the_o creature_n i_o fear_v that_o this_o be_v the_o very_a condition_n of_o many_o now_o adays_o who_o have_v know_v god_n after_o this_o manner_n beforesaid_a and_o yet_o have_v forsake_v he_o again_o and_o turn_v to_o the_o creature_n and_o yet_o do_v but_o little_a know_v that_o they_o be_v so_o far_o carry_v away_o from_o god_n as_o they_o be_v but_o when_o god_n in_o his_o orderly_a proceed_n go_v on_o in_o bring_v the_o soul_n through_o all_o the_o danger_n and_o difficulty_n of_o the_o creature_n and_o self_n then_o do_v he_o not_o suffer_v the_o soul_n to_o have_v what_o it_o will_v have_v nor_o enjoy_v what_o it_o will_v enjoy_v in_o that_o first_o manifestation_n of_o himself_o in_o the_o name_n of_o his_o son_n but_o as_o the_o bodily_a presence_n of_o jesus_n be_v to_o be_v take_v away_o in_o his_o appear_v in_o the_o second_o dispensation_n in_o the_o flesh_n that_o so_o he_o may_v come_v again_o in_o the_o spirit_n or_o ghostly_a baptism_n by_o which_o they_o shall_v still_o be_v lead_v on_o till_o they_o be_v in_o the_o near_a and_o safe_a union_n of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n that_o can_v be_v attain_v to_o in_o the_o body_n so_o it_o be_v that_o the_o ghostly_a presence_n in_o the_o first_o manifestation_n in_o the_o spirit_n must_v be_v take_v away_o that_o so_o the_o spirit_n may_v come_v to_o a_o further_o and_o more_o sure_a partake_n of_o the_o divine_a nature_n than_o it_o can_v in_o the_o first_o manifestation_n for_o as_o christ_n follower_n can_v have_v be_v please_v to_o have_v still_o enjoy_v the_o bodily_a presence_n of_o christ_n in_o the_o first_o appear_v in_o the_o flesh_n so_o will_v a_o soul_n be_v please_v with_o the_o first_o manifestation_n of_o god_n appear_v in_o the_o name_n of_o his_o son_n to_o the_o spirit_n but_o as_o christ_n bodily_a presence_n must_v be_v take_v away_o that_o thereby_o the_o life_n of_o self_n which_o live_v in_o the_o sense_n and_o reason_n of_o his_o disciple_n under_o that_o present_a enjoyment_n may_v become_v destroy_v and_o overthrow_v by_o the_o come_n again_o in_o the_o power_n of_o the_o spirit_n or_o ghostly_a baptism_n so_o it_o be_v that_o the_o first_o appearance_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n in_o the_o first_o appearance_n of_o the_o soul_n must_v be_v hide_v and_o take_v away_o because_o of_o so_o much_o life_n of_o self_n in_o the_o sense_n and_o reason_n and_o that_o by_o a_o further_a and_o more_o clear_a and_o safe_a way_n to_o manifest_v himself_o in_o the_o soul_n and_o that_o be_v by_o the_o pour_v out_o of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n into_o it_o by_o the_o virtue_n of_o which_o the_o soul_n become_v baptize_v into_o the_o suffering_n and_o death_n of_o christ_n whereby_o the_o life_n of_o sense_n and_o reason_n become_v to_o die_v and_o the_o spirit_n bring_v out_o of_o the_o claw_n of_o sin_n death_n devil_n and_o hell_n and_o the_o power_n of_o the_o resurrection_n of_o christ_n become_v to_o be_v know_v and_o the_o body_n of_o sin_n become_v to_o be_v destroy_v by_o the_o powerful_a work_n and_o burn_v of_o this_o ghostly_a baptism_n and_o this_o be_v the_o very_a baptism_n the_o apostle_n paul_n speak_v of_o when_o he_o say_v know_v you_o not_o so_o many_o of_o we_o as_o be_v baptize_v into_o christ_n be_v baptize_v into_o his_o death_n therefore_o we_o be_v bury_v with_o he_o by_o baptism_n into_o his_o death_n etc._n etc._n for_o if_o we_o have_v be_v plant_v together_o into_o the_o likeness_n of_o his_o death_n we_o shall_v also_o be_v in_o the_o likeness_n of_o his_o resurrection_n know_v this_o that_o our_o old_a man_n be_v crucify_v with_o he_o that_o the_o body_n of_o sin_n may_v be_v destroy_v that_o henceforth_o we_o shall_v not_o serve_v sin_n etc._n etc._n rom._n 6.2_o 3_o 4_o 5_o etc._n etc._n and_o those_o soul_n who_o know_v god_n in_o this_o work_n can_v witness_v to_o the_o truth_n of_o be_v before_o say_v yet_o god_n be_v but_o one_o and_o the_o same_o god_n and_o though_o there_o be_v these_o three_o baptism_n yet_o they_o all_o make_v up_o but_o one_o perfect_a baptism_n by_o love_n of_o the_o world_n and_o unstablenesse_n of_o spirit_n be_v carry_v to_o and_o fro_o by_o the_o power_n of_o sin_n inward_a or_o outward_a and_o so_o come_v to_o own_o christ_n in_o his_o season_v it_o by_o the_o virtue_n of_o the_o boil_a of_o the_o paschall_n lamb_n in_o it_o viz._n by_o the_o false_a application_n of_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n whereby_o they_o get_v to_o issue_n of_o blood_n continual_o run_v viz._n the_o thought_n inclination_n fear_n care_n love_n and_o desire_n run_v continual_o into_o the_o creature_n and_o yet_o can_v worship_n god_n in_o a_o form_n and_o apply_v christ_n in_o these_o form_n according_a as_o he_o be_v and_o what_o he_o suffer_v in_o the_o flesh_n and_o from_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o though_o they_o have_v the_o plague_n of_o leprosy_n upon_o they_o viz._n heart_n full_a of_o sin_n and_o selfenesse_n yet_o do_v they_o not_o know_v it_o but_o by_o the_o physic_n get_v out_o of_o these_o form_n they_o keep_v down_o that_o leprosy_n from_o their_o own_o behold_v think_v to_o cure_v the_o same_o and_o by_o so_o do_v there_o be_v some_o raw_a flesh_n still_o in_o the_o soul_n viz._n some_o good_a some_o righteousness_n some_o good_a conceit_n of_o what_o be_v act_v in_o their_o holy_a form_n out_o of_o which_o there_o be_v many_o good_a think_n raise_v in_o the_o mind_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o faith_n in_o christ_n and_o sanctification_n of_o the_o spirit_n etc._n etc._n all_o which_o be_v but_o as_o the_o raw_a flesh_n arise_v among_o the_o leprosy_n and_o while_o that_o soul_n have_v that_o raw_a flesh_n in_o it_o it_o be_v but_o loath_o in_o the_o eye_n of_o god_n and_o be_v account_v as_o unclean_a and_o until_o man_n true_o know_v himself_o all_o overspread_v by_o this_o plague_n of_o leprosy_n viz._n sin_n and_o selfnesse_n as_o well_o in_o his_o good_a act_n as_o in_o his_o evil_a act_n he_o be_v not_o in_o a_o capacity_n to_o be_v pronounce_v clean_o and_o the_o or_o his_o fury_n or_o anger_n etc._n etc._n be_v kindle_v in_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n in_o the_o condemn_a property_n of_o the_o light_n which_o be_v in_o the_o conscience_n and_o the_o spirit_n of_o man_n find_v itself_o deprive_v of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o nothing_o but_o the_o fury_n of_o the_o lord_n pour_v out_o and_o that_o nothing_o but_o woe_n and_o want_n appear_v in_o the_o bread_n it_o be_v to_o be_v understand_v in_o its_o original_n community_n and_o property_n first_o for_o the_o original_a it_o be_v of_o the_o vigour_n and_o virtual_a strength_n of_o the_o earth_n which_o do_v give_v and_o communicate_v itself_o into_o the_o grain_n cast_v into_o it_o whereby_o the_o same_o receive_v life_n and_o so_o be_v bring_v out_o and_o bring_v on_o still_o to_o its_o christ_n until_o the_o death_n of_o sin_n and_o self_n be_v accomplish_v and_o so_o the_o spirit_n be_v make_v partaker_n of_o the_o life_n and_o virtue_n of_o the_o resurrection_n of_o christ_n and_o with_o he_o become_v ascend_v above_o all_o power_n and_o principality_n and_o so_o to_o reign_v with_o he_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v necessary_a that_o christ_n shall_v both_o suffer_v and_o etc._n and_o so_o it_o be_v to_o this_o present_a day_n that_o those_o soul_n who_o god_n draw_v into_o a_o near_a union_n of_o himself_o he_o draw_v they_o out_o of_o the_o first_o and_o second_o outletting_a of_o himself_o in_o the_o first_o and_o second_o dispensation_n and_o so_o bring_v they_o into_o the_o three_o dispensation_n or_o ghostly_a baptism_n in_o which_o the_o body_n of_o sin_n and_o selfness_n become_v find_v out_o and_o forsake_v for_o while_o the_o first_o and_o second_o dispensation_n be_v in_o force_n the_o body_n of_o sin_n be_v not_o so_o clear_o find_v out_o nor_o can_v be_v so_o forsake_v as_o it_o

they_o before_o other_o insomuch_o that_o some_o may_v judge_v they_o to_o have_v receive_v something_o of_o god_n but_o yet_o this_o be_v but_o the_o proper_a work_n of_o wit_n which_o have_v power_n truth_n appear_v but_o it_o be_v no_o marvel_n for_o truth_n always_o find_v many_o enemy_n among_o man_n but_o especial_o among_o priest_n in_o all_o age_n and_o it_o will_v be_v so_o as_o long_o as_o the_o order_n of_o priest_n be_v in_o date_n yet_o i_o confess_v though_o your_o come_n into_o the_o ministry_n be_v absolute_o against_o the_o mind_n and_o command_v of_o god_n as_o be_v the_o first_o order_n of_o king_n in_o israel_n and_o that_o god_n have_v wink_v at_o you_o above_o thirteen_o hundred_o year_n and_o suffer_v you_o to_o come_v into_o the_o ministry_n by_o the_o ordinance_n of_o man_n yet_o as_o god_n own_v some_o of_o the_o king_n in_o israel_n so_o i_o make_v no_o doubt_n but_o that_o god_n have_v own_v some_o among_o you_o but_o yet_o i_o believe_v solomon_n account_n may_v be_v their_o number_n and_o those_o among_o you_o who_o god_n have_v own_v or_o to_o this_o day_n do_v own_o they_o be_v make_v to_o see_v and_o confess_v the_o emptiness_n of_o their_o wit_n and_o scholarship_n in_o the_o understanding_n of_o the_o mind_n and_o will_v of_o god_n and_o find_v their_o art_n learn_v in_o the_o university_n to_o be_v one_o of_o the_o great_a enemy_n against_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n the_o which_o they_o have_v to_o deal_v withal_o and_o they_o can_v speak_v by_o experience_n that_o university_n learning_n be_v but_o a_o mere_a cheat_n and_o a_o foolish_a thing_n to_o make_v a_o right_a minister_n of_o the_o word_n of_o truth_n and_o so_o be_v make_v to_o renounce_v all_o the_o curiosity_n of_o art_n and_o scholarship_n and_o as_o they_o have_v receive_v the_o truth_n from_o the_o fountain_n of_o truth_n so_o be_v they_o make_v to_o speak_v and_o these_o soul_n can_v envy_v any_o man_n in_o who_o the_o truth_n be_v but_o rejoice_v to_o see_v they_o and_o hear_v they_o speak_v and_o account_v they_o as_o the_o minister_n of_o god_n though_o they_o be_v never_o put_v to_o the_o holy_a university_n for_o the_o same_o spirit_n proceed_v from_o the_o same_o fountain_n make_v no_o difference_n and_o these_o man_n account_v it_o their_o joy_n to_o be_v in_o the_o society_n of_o people_n who_o be_v experience_v and_o they_o seek_v no_o lordship_n over_o the_o people_n nor_o be_v they_o so_o hungry_a heart_v after_o tithe_n and_o great_a benefice_n but_o can_v rather_o condescend_v to_o work_v with_o their_o own_o hand_n for_o their_o bread_n but_o i_o believe_v you_o have_v not_o many_o of_o these_o among_o you_o for_o the_o curse_n have_v cover_v the_o face_n of_o the_o most_o of_o you_o in_o your_o generation_n under_o which_o you_o be_v close_o seal_v from_o the_o right_a knowledge_n of_o truth_n and_o can_v no_o more_o believe_v your_o deceit_n than_o the_o apostle_n paul_n before_o his_o bring_v such_o a_o sad_a message_n to_o they_o expect_v to_o be_v envy_v and_o evil_o speak_v of_o yea_o and_o persecute_v to_o death_n i_o know_v the_o man_n that_o shall_v be_v send_v with_o this_o with_o the_o great_a mystery_n of_o sin_n and_o selfness_n in_o you_o and_o out_o of_o the_o true_a knowledge_n and_o right_a sense_n thereof_o that_o you_o may_v be_v make_v fit_a to_o discover_v the_o mystery_n of_o sin_n and_o selfness_n in_o all_o other_o and_o that_o you_o may_v be_v right_o make_v partaker_n of_o the_o mystery_n of_o the_o divine_a nature_n that_o from_o the_o enjoyment_n thereof_o you_o may_v be_v make_v able_a to_o know_v and_o comprehend_v with_o all_o saint_n what_o be_v the_o height_n and_o depth_n etc._n etc._n and_o to_o know_v the_o fellowship_n of_o the_o but_o your_o foolish_a conceit_n raise_v in_o you_o by_o the_o custom_n of_o tradition_n by_o which_o you_o have_v make_v the_o command_n and_o power_n of_o god_n without_o effect_n and_o hereby_o you_o make_v a_o god_n of_o this_o ordinance_n or_o type_n institute_v and_o give_v that_o to_o it_o which_o of_o right_n do_v belong_v to_o himself_o and_o the_o incorporate_n any_o soul_n into_o right_a colour_n and_o have_v make_v use_n of_o they_o and_o apply_v they_o for_o the_o uphold_v of_o themselves_o and_o for_o the_o oppose_a and_o put_v down_o of_o all_o who_o have_v more_o appearance_n of_o god_n in_o they_o then_o themselves_o and_o beside_o when_o or_o where_o they_o have_v or_o have_v power_n they_o take_v to_o they_o the_o help_n of_o the_o sword_n of_o justice_n to_o uphold_v themselves_o and_o destroy_v other_o who_o have_v god_n more_o clear_o manifest_v in_o they_o then_o themselves_o and_o thus_o have_v they_o become_v the_o man_n of_o sin_n who_o exalt_v himself_o above_o god_n or_o any_o that_o be_v call_v by_o the_o name_n of_o god_n as_o you_o shall_v see_v plain_o open_v afterward_o but_o in_o the_o interim_n beware_v of_o they_o and_o think_v and_o do_v whatsoever_o the_o scribe_n and_o pharisee_n teach_v they_o but_o yet_o he_o command_v not_o the_o people_n to_o hear_v they_o but_o only_o as_o you_o may_v infer_v from_o the_o other_o word_n but_o in_o case_n he_o have_v in_o plain_a word_n command_v they_o to_o hear_v they_o that_o make_v not_o for_o your_o hear_n of_o unsent_a minister_n in_o our_o day_n as_o i_o shall_v plain_o be_v in_o the_o divine_a nature_n and_o the_o reason_n be_v because_o that_o the_o faith_n according_a to_o christ_n in_o the_o flesh_n do_v not_o take_v away_o lust_n out_o of_o the_o heart_n but_o rather_o conform_v the_o heart_n to_o lust_n and_o lust_n to_o the_o heart_n and_o lust_n be_v lovely_a to_o the_o heart_n and_o the_o operation_n of_o the_o divine_a nature_n or_o faith_n issue_v out_o of_o and_o from_o the_o divine_a nature_n it_o kill_v lust_n in_o the_o heart_n and_o draw_v the_o heart_n with_o all_o its_o affection_n into_o the_o right_a centre_n and_o from_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o many_o in_o their_o form_n fall_v short_a of_o that_o which_o be_v the_o true_a centre_n and_o become_v enemy_n of_o christ_n and_o yet_o none_o preach_v christ_n nor_o pretend_v christ_n more_o than_o those_o but_o can_v you_o who_o be_v so_o complete_o congregat_v people_n think_v that_o you_o be_v any_o such_o as_o be_v the_o enemy_n of_o christ_n i_o doubt_v you_o will_v hardly_o believe_v it_o but_o let_v i_o tell_v you_o in_o plain_a term_n you_o have_v best_o beware_v lest_o you_o be_v find_v in_o the_o number_n of_o such_o for_o whosoever_o be_v enemy_n to_o the_o cross_n of_o christ_n shall_v be_v find_v enemy_n to_o christ_n but_o i_o fear_v you_o do_v not_o right_o understand_v what_o the_o cross_n of_o christ_n be_v and_o then_o how_o shall_v you_o be_v friend_n to_o it_o for_o i_o assure_v you_o none_o know_v the_o cross_n of_o christ_n but_o those_o who_o be_v right_o incorporate_v into_o the_o divine_a nature_n and_o that_o be_v not_o a_o incorporate_n in_o kirk-fellowship_n as_o you_o call_v it_o and_o while_o you_o be_v bind_v up_o in_o that_o incorporate_n i_o may_v upon_o safe_a ground_n conclude_v that_o you_o as_o yet_o know_v not_o what_o the_o cross_n signify_v but_o it_o may_v be_v that_o some_o among_o you_o will_v know_v what_o i_o mean_v by_o the_o cross_n of_o christ_n and_o will_v hear_v my_o opinion_n of_o the_o same_o for_o i_o know_v this_o be_v a_o time_n wherein_o man_n be_v addict_v to_o hear_v new_a thing_n but_o yet_o i_o have_v not_o any_o new_a thing_n to_o tell_v you_o for_o what_o i_o have_v to_o say_v to_o you_o be_v no_o more_o but_o such_o old_a tale_n as_o have_v former_o be_v tell_v both_o by_o christ_n and_o his_o true_a follower_n but_o when_o the_o follow_v of_o christ_n cease_v than_o the_o old_a say_n and_o tale_n which_o be_v former_o tell_v grow_v out_o of_o fashion_n and_o new_a say_n and_o wise_a say_n and_o learned_a say_n and_o study_v fiction_n be_v new_a become_v to_o be_v in_o request_n but_o to_o answer_v what_o some_o of_o you_o may_v desire_v i_o will_v bring_v old_a say_n to_o explain_v the_o truth_n hereof_o to_o you_o and_o these_o shall_v be_v the_o say_n of_o the_o apostle_n paul_n who_o oft_o insist_v upon_o this_o very_a subject_n viz._n the_o cross_n of_o christ_n but_o this_o be_v not_o the_o wooden_a cross_n upon_o the_o which_o the_o body_n of_o christ_n heart_n with_o the_o inclination_n thought_n love_n and_o desire_n which_o be_v daily_o tend_v and_o bend_v down_o to_o the_o creature_n in_o one_o kind_a or_o other_o and_o the_o creature_n with_o its_o object_n arise_v to_o meet_v the_o affection_n to_o carry_v they_o after_o they_o from_o the_o live_n and_o abide_v in_o god_n as_o he_o be_v a_o spirit_n and_o in_o christ_n as_o he_o be_v in_o the_o divine_a nature_n or_o the_o union_n of_o the_o father_n and_o in_o that_o union_n of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n to_o keep_v the_o heart_n with_o its_o affection_n that_o so_o the_o fellowship_n of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n may_v daily_o be_v the_o fellowship_n of_o our_o heart_n and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o ought_v to_o be_v the_o centre_n of_o all_o heart_n without_o which_o there_o can_v be_v no_o happiness_n in_o any_o form_n yea_o this_o lead_v the_o heart_n out_o of_o centre_v in_o form_n and_o this_o be_v that_o which_o the_o apostle_n will_v have_v those_o who_o he_o write_v to_o to_o enjoy_v and_o for_o that_o end_n he_o declare_v the_o truth_n as_o it_o be_v in_o jesus_n that_o so_o they_o may_v have_v fellowship_n with_o they_o who_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o truth_n and_o he_o affirm_v that_o their_o fellowship_n be_v with_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n 1_o jo._n 1.2_o 3._o and_o where_o the_o heart_n be_v right_o call_v and_o right_o carry_v on_o in_o the_o way_n of_o christ_n and_o those_o who_o be_v his_o follower_n they_o rest_v not_o in_o form_n and_o kirk-fellowship_n for_o they_o find_v in_o themselves_o other_o matter_n to_o go_v about_o and_o that_o be_v to_o press_v after_o the_o fellowship_n of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n and_o their_o longing_n empty_a mourn_a spirit_n be_v not_o nor_o can_v be_v content_a with_o any_o thing_n below_o that_o fellowship_n and_o out_o of_o the_o great_a desire_n hereof_o the_o soul_n be_v set_v at_o variance_n with_o all_o create_a thing_n or_o whatsoever_o may_v interpose_v or_o keep_v back_o the_o spirit_n from_o that_o which_o be_v the_o object_n of_o its_o desire_n and_o when_o by_o pure_a enlighten_v the_o pure_a believe_a be_v fix_v in_o the_o will_n or_o heart_n than_o i_o believe_v there_o will_v be_v suffer_v in_o the_o daily_o strive_v to_o keep_v the_o create_a object_n from_o the_o heart_n and_o the_o heart_n from_o the_o creature_n by_o object_n and_o then_o shall_v appear_v and_o be_v make_v manifest_a that_o which_o never_o do_v appear_v before_o even_o the_o great_a body_n of_o sin_n and_o selfnesse_n which_o of_o necessity_n must_v be_v destroy_v and_o crucify_v and_o make_v as_o dead_a as_o the_o body_n of_o jesus_n when_o it_o hang_v dead_a upon_o the_o cross_n of_o wood_n and_o this_o daily_a withstand_v the_o body_n of_o sin_n in_o the_o heart_n and_o affection_n be_v the_o cross_n upon_o which_o the_o body_n of_o sin_n must_v be_v crucify_v for_o this_o body_n of_o sin_n or_o this_o selfnesse_n in_o the_o heart_n must_v die_v or_o the_o soul_n must_v die_v instead_o of_o it_o and_o it_o be_v not_o a_o few_o daily_a duty_n or_o be_v incorporate_v into_o a_o congregat_v way_n that_o will_v destroy_v it_o no_o no_o for_o this_o body_n of_o sin_n and_o selfnesse_n be_v of_o another_o nature_n then_o so_o for_o it_o will_v cost_v man_n the_o best_a blood_n in_o he_o before_o it_o be_v subdue_v and_o the_o apostle_n who_o know_v the_o evil_a of_o it_o and_o the_o necessity_n of_o have_v it_o crucify_v can_v not_o rejoice_v in_o any_o thing_n more_o than_o in_o the_o cross_n of_o christ_n by_o which_o he_o be_v crucify_v to_o the_o world_n and_o the_o world_n to_o he_o gal._n 6.14_o and_o by_o this_o daily_a deny_v of_o the_o out-going_n of_o the_o heart_n into_o the_o creature_n and_o the_o incoming_a of_o the_o creature_n into_o the_o heart_n man_n become_v plant_v into_o the_o likeness_n of_o christ_n death_n without_o which_o none_o can_v be_v partaker_n of_o his_o crucify_v rom._n 6.6_o and_o the_o apostle_n count_v but_o all_o thing_n dung_n and_o dross_n in_o comparison_n of_o know_v christ_n in_o this_o manner_n and_o to_o be_v find_v in_o he_o and_o to_o know_v the_o power_n of_o his_o resurrection_n and_o the_o fellowship_n of_o his_o suffering_n and_o a_o conformity_n to_o his_o death_n if_o by_o any_o mean_n he_o may_v attain_v to_o the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a phil._n 3.10_o 11_o etc._n etc._n this_o be_v the_o mark_n he_o aim_v at_o to_o which_o he_o walk_v by_o the_o rule_n of_o the_o suffering_n and_o example_n of_o christ_n and_o in_o obedience_n to_o his_o command_n which_o most_o be_v for_o self_n denial_n he_o press_v hard_o after_o he_o in_o the_o way_n of_o his_o suffering_n that_o so_o nothing_o that_o be_v of_o self_n may_v live_v in_o he_o yea_o when_o he_o find_v that_o self_n get_v life_n and_o food_n by_o way_n of_o consolation_n than_o be_v

dainty_n viz._n pleasure_n of_o all_o sort_n which_o concern_v the_o satisfy_a the_o corruptible_a part_n in_o man_n but_o when_o god_n go_v on_o in_o his_o wondrous_a work_n and_o show_v upon_o pharaoh_n viz._n the_o devil_n and_o his_o people_n than_o the_o israelite_n be_v make_v willing_a to_o depart_v viz._n the_o noble_a faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o affection_n from_o thence_o proceed_v and_o when_o the_o first_o bear_v become_v slay_v viz._n the_o strength_n of_o the_o will_v beget_v in_o it_o by_o the_o devil_n than_o the_o devil_n be_v force_v to_o let_v the_o noble_a faculty_n depart_v from_o the_o bondage_n of_o the_o lust_n beforesaid_a then_o out_o they_o go_v to_o the_o red_a sea_n whereat_o the_o people_n be_v in_o great_a straight_o than_o ever_o viz._n though_o the_o noble_a property_n and_o the_o will_v be_v go_v and_o depart_v out_o of_o the_o bondage_n beforesaid_a yet_o the_o devil_n raise_v up_o all_o his_o force_n and_o pursue_v the_o noble_a faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n think_v to_o take_v they_o again_o into_o bondage_n in_o that_o strait_a at_o the_o red_a sea_n viz._n when_o the_o noble_a faculty_n be_v in_o depart_v out_o of_o sin_n than_o it_o be_v that_o temptation_n be_v more_o raise_v up_o then_o ever_o and_o do_v so_o heap_v up_o and_o flow_v before_o the_o understanding_n that_o to_o pass_v over_o they_o there_o be_v no_o hope_n or_o likelihood_n to_o reason_n in_o which_o straight_o the_o devil_n with_o his_o army_n drive_v on_o apace_o in_o the_o irascible_a faculty_n and_o come_v on_o the_o back_n side_n of_o the_o noble_a faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o so_o raise_v despair_n and_o secret_a fear_n out_o of_o which_o anger_n and_o passion_n be_v produce_v and_o in_o the_o operation_n of_o which_o in_o that_o great_a distress_n of_o the_o soul_n wish_v itself_o that_o it_o have_v never_o stir_v out_o of_o its_o former_a condition_n rather_o than_o to_o have_v move_v thus_o far_o and_o to_o be_v swallow_v up_o in_o that_o present_a sad_a condition_n but_o when_o god_n will_v have_v his_o name_n more_o clear_o manifest_v then_o do_v he_o divide_v the_o sea_n viz._n all_o these_o great_a overflowing_n of_o temptation_n and_o so_o the_o noble_a faculty_n and_o the_o spirit_n pass_v through_o they_o all_o and_o the_o devil_n and_o sin_n and_o despair_n be_v all_o overwhelm_v in_o those_o temptation_n and_o this_o be_v the_o great_a work_n of_o god_n in_o the_o defeat_n of_o the_o devil_n and_o destroy_v he_o and_o sin_n in_o the_o same_o way_n wherein_o he_o think_v to_o destroy_v the_o noble_a faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o when_o the_o noble_a faculty_n become_v thus_o deliver_v have_v undergo_v this_o first_o baptism_n or_o suffer_v or_o plunge_v as_o before_o say_v then_o do_v man_n begin_v to_o fear_v the_o name_n of_o that_o great_a god_n who_o have_v do_v these_o great_a thing_n for_o his_o soul_n and_o so_o become_v to_o be_v obedient_a to_o moses_n viz._n to_o the_o outward_a require_v of_o the_o commandment_n and_o know_v god_n to_o be_v so_o great_a and_o terrible_a the_o fear_n of_o his_o name_n do_v cause_n man_n to_o yield_v obedience_n to_o his_o law_n and_o in_o the_o transgress_a or_o go_v astray_o from_o its_o requiring_n the_o same_o appearance_n of_o god_n be_v manifest_v as_o be_v at_o the_o give_v out_o thereof_o and_o this_o terriblenesse_n of_o god_n be_v know_v in_o the_o condemn_a part_n of_o the_o soul_n viz._n the_o conscience_n and_o so_o in_o the_o obedience_n to_o god_n in_o his_o terrible_a manifestation_n in_o the_o first_o baptism_n under_o the_o first_o dispensation_n man_n act_v in_o that_o fear_n to_o all_o the_o outward_a requiring_n of_o the_o letter_n and_o seek_v thereby_o to_o assuage_v and_o allay_v the_o appearance_n of_o that_o anger_n and_o go_v about_o to_o please_v god_n and_o satisfy_v justice_n by_o outward_a sacrifice_n and_o so_o it_o be_v that_o man_n live_v under_o this_o dispensation_n and_o act_v zealous_o therein_o the_o condemn_a part_n or_o conscience_n become_v somewhat_o pacify_v and_o quietness_n begin_v to_o appear_v and_o from_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o man_n draw_v conclusion_n that_o god_n be_v well_o please_v with_o their_o sacrifice_n and_o as_o under_o this_o first_o baptism_n in_o the_o first_o dispensation_n wherein_o be_v contain_v the_o first_o covenant_n of_o work_n man_n apprehend_v god_n in_o terror_n in_o the_o manifest_v the_o whole_a deity_n in_o the_o one_o name_n they_o become_v to_o yield_v obedience_n according_o viz._n in_o a_o first_o dispensation_n be_v hard_o as_o the_o nether_a millstone_n and_o will_v not_o yield_v any_o obedience_n except_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n by_o the_o hammer_n of_o the_o law_n smite_v upon_o the_o same_o and_o thereby_o force_v out_o obedience_n to_o what_o god_n require_v in_o the_o first_o dispensation_n so_o in_o time_n when_o the_o heart_n be_v make_v more_o willing_a and_o answerable_a to_o the_o requiring_n under_o the_o first_o dispensation_n then_o by_o the_o obedience_n there-und_a man_n have_v peace_n as_o be_v before_o say_v from_o whence_o he_o conclude_v that_o god_n be_v well_o please_v with_o he_o and_o so_o from_o these_o two_o ground_n viz._n the_o terror_n or_o anger_n of_o god_n out_o of_o which_o arise_v the_o fear_n of_o hell_n and_o out_o of_o the_o life_n and_o peace_n of_o conscience_n out_o of_o which_o arise_v the_o hope_n of_o heaven_n man_n work_v all_o his_o work_n and_o so_o be_v under_o the_o condition_n of_o the_o first_o covenant_n of_o work_n in_o which_o the_o deity_n stand_v in_o one_o name_n though_o we_o in_o our_o day_n know_v not_o the_o mystery_n hereof_o for_o when_o any_o soul_n be_v but_o under_o the_o first_o covenant_n of_o work_n he_o can_v talk_v of_o the_o deity_n as_o it_o be_v divide_v in_o its_o property_n but_o that_o be_v because_o of_o the_o live_n in_o this_o present_a dispensation_n under_o the_o gospel_n wherein_o we_o have_v receive_v a_o historical_a relation_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n by_o which_o man_n have_v get_v the_o relative_a knowledge_n of_o the_o threefold_a name_n of_o the_o deity_n and_o yet_o know_v not_o the_o power_n and_o proper_a work_n of_o the_o deity_n in_o the_o threefold_a name_n but_o blind_o look_v upon_o they_o as_o they_o be_v put_v out_o in_o the_o outward_a type_n and_o so_o make_v a_o humble_a jumble_v of_o they_o according_a to_o the_o history_n or_o relation_n of_o the_o same_o and_o from_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o man_n talk_v and_o preach_v and_o confer_v of_o the_o father_n son_n and_o holy_a ghost_n and_o yet_o live_v not_o in_o the_o power_n of_o what_o they_o preach_v or_o speak_v for_o they_o have_v not_o know_v the_o operation_n and_o proper_a work_n in_o their_o soul_n of_o the_o deity_n in_o the_o threefold_a name_n or_o three_o distinct_a property_n of_o the_o deity_n in_o the_o orderly_a manifestation_n of_o itself_o in_o the_o condition_n suitable_a for_o the_o same_o but_o those_o who_o live_v in_o the_o time_n of_o the_o first_o dispensation_n under_o the_o covenant_n of_o work_n where_o they_o have_v the_o law_n of_o commandment_n and_o the_o ceremonial_a law_n also_o and_o the_o ordinance_n therein_o contain_v they_o be_v not_o in_o the_o dispensation_n of_o the_o deity_n in_o its_o distinct_a property_n as_o we_o be_v but_o the_o distinct_a property_n be_v all_o include_v in_o the_o whole_a essence_n of_o the_o deity_n viz._n christ_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v both_o one_o in_o the_o father_n and_o the_o father_n in_o they_o and_o all_o but_o one_o god_n and_o though_o the_o godhead_n be_v thus_o whole_a in_o itself_o yet_o god_n let_v out_o himself_o in_o distinct_a property_n into_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o upright_a people_n under_o the_o first_o dispensation_n and_o by_o the_o very_a same_o way_n they_o be_v save_v as_o we_o be_v and_o do_v enjoy_v god_n in_o the_o same_o way_n that_o we_o do_v though_o not_o in_o the_o same_o dispensation_n for_o though_o they_o live_v under_o the_o covenant_n of_o work_n and_o ceremonial_a observation_n yet_o those_o soul_n who_o all_o the_o other_o prophet_n and_o all_o other_o people_n in_o these_o day_n but_o those_o who_o become_v blind_v of_o that_o which_o be_v the_o mystery_n of_o these_o thing_n by_o reason_n of_o the_o devil_n sin_n and_o selfness_n they_o become_v to_o live_v in_o the_o thing_n they_o observe_v and_o know_v nothing_o of_o god_n in_o the_o mystery_n and_o outletting_a of_o himself_o in_o his_o
