who_o govern_v they_o according_a to_o rule_n of_o civility_n have_v perhaps_o the_o outward_a mode_n or_o fashion_n of_o their_o country-religion_n so_o that_o to_o bring_v man_n i_o say_v to_o be_v in_o good_a earnest_n and_o serious_a in_o religion_n i_o know_v nothing_o more_o likely_a to_o be_v effectual_a than_o persuade_v they_o to_o think_v to_o converse_v more_o with_o themselves_o and_o by_o use_v their_o mind_n to_o bring_v themselves_o to_o feel_v that_o they_o have_v they_o that_o there_o be_v in_o they_o soul_n or_o a_o spiritual_a unseen_a active_a part._n this_o if_o they_o be_v well_o sensible_a of_o they_o will_v conclude_v that_o as_o they_o have_v a_o unseen_a part_n so_o there_o may_v be_v a_o unseen_a world_n according_a as_o they_o be_v tell_v there_o be_v and_o that_o as_o this_o their_o unseen_a part_n be_v true_o the_o man_n and_o the_o most_o excellent_a part_n of_o they_o so_o the_o unseen_a world_n be_v the_o most_o real_a and_o of_o great_a worth_n and_o moment_n that_o therefore_o these_o soul_n of_o they_o shall_v be_v look_v after_o and_o some_o provision_n make_v for_o they_o against_o they_o come_v to_o be_v strip_v of_o their_o body_n and_o to_o pass_v naked_a into_o the_o world_n of_o spirit_n further_o by_o this_o mean_v they_o will_v find_v that_o it_o be_v their_o body_n that_o eat_v and_o drink_v and_o sleep_v and_o be_v please_v and_o satisfy_v therewith_o and_o that_o when_o they_o have_v no_o body_n they_o shall_v do_v none_o of_o these_o that_o therefore_o there_o must_v be_v otherguise_n satisfaction_n look_v after_o for_o their_o soul_n in_o a_o word_n i_o can_v hardly_o believe_v that_o a_o think_v person_n can_v fail_v in_o the_o end_n to_o arrive_v at_o be_v serious_a in_o religion_n especial_o if_o he_o set_v out_o with_o any_o sober_a and_o certain_a principle_n one_o thought_n will_v lead_v on_o another_o till_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n some_o divine_a truth_n or_o other_o pierce_v or_o fix_v in_o his_o heart_n and_o make_v way_n for_o the_o final_a victory_n of_o faith_n §_o 10._o we_o will_v take_v a_o further_o and_o more_o distinct_a instance_n of_o the_o case_n in_o a_o particular_a train_n of_o thought_n suppose_v we_o then_o a_o man_n by_o himself_o and_o either_o upon_o the_o importunity_n of_o minister_n frequent_o rate_v people_n into_o seriousness_n or_o upon_o the_o instigation_n of_o his_o own_o conscience_n some_o way_n awaken_v by_o god_n secret_a grace_n which_o one_o time_n or_o other_o be_v want_v to_o none_o under_o the_o gospel_n suppose_v we_o i_o say_v such_o a_o person_n begin_v to_o consider_v whether_o there_o be_v any_o real_a necessity_n for_o he_o to_o trouble_v himself_o any_o further_a with_o religion_n than_o to_o be_v in_o the_o general_a fashion_n of_o the_o country_n and_o have_v cast_v away_o many_o thing_n that_o have_v be_v urge_v upon_o he_o either_o as_o false_a or_o as_o uncertain_a or_o of_o little_a moment_n at_o length_n to_o bethink_v himself_o 1._o though_o all_o the_o other_o particular_n usual_o inculcate_v to_o persuade_v i_o to_o seriousness_n in_o religion_n shall_v be_v false_a and_o mere_o little_a art_n and_o invention_n to_o awe_v i_o yet_o this_o be_v certain_a die_v i_o must_v soon_o or_o late_a not_o one_o escape_v this_o perpetual_a law_n those_o who_o have_v think_v themselves_o most_o exempt_v from_o the_o common_a fate_n of_o all_o have_v notwithstanding_o at_o length_n whether_o they_o will_v believe_v it_o or_o no_o feel_v it_o and_o yield_v thereto_o perhaps_o there_o may_v fear_n of_o god_n and_o with_o a_o decent_a concord_n further_o beside_o the_o inward_a advantage_n of_o be_v virtuous_a and_o religious_a do_v i_o not_o see_v daily_o that_o man_n by_o virtue_n and_o religion_n preserve_v themselves_o from_o a_o thousand_o inconvenience_n which_o other_o run_v into_o they_o keep_v and_o increase_v perhaps_o their_o estate_n their_o credit_n their_o ease_n their_o content_a and_o peace_n while_o in_o life_n at_o a_o distance_n from_o death_n let_v i_o serious_o consider_v of_o this_o and_o there_o will_v nothing_o appear_v more_o plain_a to_o i_o nor_o shall_v i_o be_v more_o sensible_a of_o any_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n than_o that_o such_o temper_n as_o describe_v will_v be_v a_o die_a torment_n to_o i_o a_o hell_n beforehand_o and_o that_o it_o be_v over_o foul_a action_n at_o present_a i_o shall_v not_o be_v able_a to_o do_v so_o long_o at_o least_o not_o at_o death_n nay_o even_o now_o at_o present_a i_o have_v much_o ado_n to_o make_v many_o doctrine_n and_o precept_n of_o christianity_n and_o 2._o be_v thou_o serious_o in_o thy_o heart_n persuade_v that_o christian_a religion_n be_v true_a and_o the_o alone_a sure_a way_n to_o happiness_n or_o else_o on_o the_o contrary_a be_v thou_o a_o mere_a formal_a external_a professor_n pretend_v to_o be_v zealous_a in_o this_o or_o that_o way_n but_o design_v by_o such_o pretence_n only_o other_o end_n than_o those_o of_o thy_o soul_n in_o a_o unseen_a world_n consider_v the_o matter_n serious_o for_o a_o multitude_n of_o mere_a worldly_a bigot_n of_o zealous_a outward_a religious_a people_n that_o thou_o be_v as_o to_o religion_n real_o lukewarm_a in_o love_n with_o the_o world_n and_o thing_n that_o be_v see_v so_o that_o thou_o have_v be_v very_o negligent_a in_o particular_a fashion_n and_o so_o thou_o wear_v clothes_n of_o this_o fashion_n rather_o than_o of_o that_o of_o the_o turk_n and_o persian_n etc._n etc._n because_o thou_o be_v among_o the_o english_a and_o a_o english_a man._n in_o like_a sort_n all_o nation_n have_v some_o religion_n thy_o country_n or_o thy_o friend_n this_o and_o therefore_o thou_o be_v of_o it_o thou_o have_v be_v but_o what_o happiness_n there_o can_v be_v in_o a_o world_n where_o it_o be_v say_v there_o be_v none_o of_o these_o we_o can_v easy_o apprehend_v it_o will_v therefore_o be_v necessary_a here_o
