salvation_n induce_v sinner_n that_o observe_v it_o to_o remember_v themselves_o and_o take_v their_o own_o estate_n into_o consideration_n if_o so_o much_o care_n and_o pain_n be_v necessary_a to_o the_o save_n of_o a_o soul_n then_o sure_o it_o concern_v i_o to_o be_v careful_a for_o myself_o i_o have_v a_o soul_n to_o save_v as_o well_o as_o other_o and_o if_o the_o save_n of_o a_o soul_n require_v so_o much_o attendance_n it_o will_v be_v ill_a for_o i_o to_o neglect_v it_o say_v the_o hitherto-secure_a and_o inconsiderate_a sinner_n thus_o parent_n master_n neighbour_n by_o follow_v close_o the_o work_n of_o their_o own_o salvation_n may_v do_v much_o towards_o the_o conversion_n of_o their_o child_n servant_n and_o neighbour_n and_o there_o be_v some_o remarkable_a instance_n of_o this_o kind_n that_o may_v be_v here_o insert_v but_o for_o the_o study_n of_o brevity_n 2._o now_o for_o the_o manner_n and_o order_n of_o the_o soul_n be_v proceed_v in_o this_o consideration_n it_o admit_v of_o much_o variety_n but_o according_a to_o the_o condition_n of_o the_o subject-matter_n and_o the_o end_v whereto_o such_o consideration_n serve_v it_o may_v be_v brief_o thus_o state_v 1._o the_o soul_n consider_v what_o the_o law_n of_o god_n require_v of_o man_n and_o how_o he_o have_v transgress_v and_o break_v it_o what_o exact_a holiness_n and_o purity_n god_n demand_v a_o serious_a and_o severe_a compare_v of_o his_o life_n with_o the_o law_n for_o by_o the_o law_n be_v the_o knowledge_n of_o sin_n thus_o man_n come_v to_o know_v themselves_o to_o be_v offender_n and_o to_o have_v displease_v and_o provoke_v god_n but_o here_o usual_o the_o sinner_n thought_n be_v very_o much_o confine_v to_o some_o one_o sin_n or_o other_o in_o which_o he_o apprehend_v which_o he_o expect_v but_o yet_o some_o convict_a person_n and_o person_n deep_o affect_v with_o a_o legal_a humiliation_n fall_v short_a of_o this_o step_n towards_o conversion_n and_o never_o come_v to_o any_o serious_a enquiry_n after_o the_o way_n and_o mean_n of_o salvation_n such_o be_v they_o who_o see_v themselves_o undo_v and_o apprehend_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n ready_a to_o come_v forth_o against_o they_o immediate_o fall_v into_o a_o despair_a sorrow_n and_o conclude_v peremptory_o against_o themselves_o that_o there_o be_v no_o help_n for_o they_o thus_o cain_n when_o in_o the_o word_n of_o scripture_n as_o love_v the_o world_n so_o as_o to_o give_v his_o only_o beget_v son_n that_o whosoever_o believe_v on_o he_o shall_v not_o perish_v but_o have_v everlasting_a
