the_o word_n to_o confer_v with_o god_n in_o holy_a meditation_n wherefore_o these_o thing_n he_o find_v himself_o inward_o move_v unto_o and_o he_o can_v choose_v but_o be_v constant_a in_o they_o if_o at_o any_o time_n his_o wicked_a flesh_n hinder_v he_o from_o they_o as_o sickness_n make_v a_o man_n sometime_o that_o he_o can_v eat_v his_o meat_n then_o do_v he_o feel_v as_o sensible_a a_o miss_n of_o they_o even_o as_o of_o his_o meal_n and_o he_o can_v be_v as_o well_o without_o food_n as_o without_o these_o exercise_n for_o in_o truth_n they_o be_v the_o food_n of_o his_o soul_n and_o he_o relish_v they_o as_o food_n though_o sometime_o less_o than_o at_o other_o time_n as_o the_o disease_n of_o his_o soul_n grow_v more_o or_o less_o within_o he_o further_o mercy_n justice_n liberality_n truth_n diligence_n and_o other_o virtue_n be_v now_o natural_a unto_o he_o as_o well_o as_o religion_n he_o take_v comfort_n in_o do_v the_o duty_n thereof_o and_o make_v conscience_n god_n in_o the_o heart_n the_o second_o mean_n be_v a_o diligent_a hide_v of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n in_o the_o heart_n for_o see_v that_o be_v the_o seed_n of_o immortality_n if_o it_o be_v close_o lay_v up_o in_o the_o ground_n of_o our_o soul_n it_o will_v fructify_v to_o life_n this_o law_n be_v pure_a and_o it_o will_v purify_v it_o be_v perfect_a and_o it_o will_v convert_v the_o soul_n if_o like_o a_o plaster_n it_o be_v lay_v unto_o it_o let_v it_o be_v ingraff_v into_o you_o like_o a_o science_n and_o it_o will_v change_v the_o wild_a sap_n of_o your_o nature_n and_o make_v you_o able_a to_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n of_o holiness_n a_o man_n than_o bury_v the_o seed_n of_o the_o word_n in_o his_o hart_n when_o he_o do_v ponder_v and_o muse_v upon_o it_o when_o he_o set_v himself_o serious_o to_o consider_v the_o truth_n of_o it_o and_o to_o apply_v it_o unto_o his_o own_o soul_n take_v that_o that_o be_v general_o deliver_v as_o pertain_v to_o himself_o in_o special_a now_o the_o whole_a word_n must_v be_v thus_o whet_v upon_o the_o heart_n not_o the_o law_n alone_o for_o that_o of_o itself_o will_v breed_v nothing_o but_o miserable_a terror_n not_o the_o gospel_n alone_o for_o that_o find_v the_o heart_n unprepared_a to_o receive_v it_o in_o such_o ill_a ground_n will_v bring_v forth_o nothing_o but_o the_o stink_a weed_n of_o presumption_n but_o both_o the_o unto_o he_o and_o whosoever_o will_v not_o seek_v regeneration_n and_o salvation_n here_o where_o god_n have_v take_v order_n that_o he_o may_v meet_v with_o they_o he_o for_o his_o carelessness_n or_o ignorance_n of_o god_n ordinance_n shall_v never_o be_v able_a elsewhere_o to_o attain_v they_o i_o tell_v you_o my_o opinion_n before_o of_o the_o word_n

that_o he_o shall_v be_v think_v either_o unable_a or_o unwilling_a to_o work_v by_o this_o but_o where_o preach_v with_o pain_n or_o cost_n may_v be_v get_v there_o he_o that_o to_o save_v his_o labour_n or_o to_o spare_v his_o purse_n will_v neglect_v it_o shall_v never_o be_v bear_v again_o wherefore_o belove_v you_o must_v make_v high_a account_n of_o this_o ordinance_n you_o must_v follow_v it_o you_o must_v be_v constant_a in_o frequent_v it_o that_o the_o lord_n by_o the_o mouth_n of_o his_o faithful_a servant_n may_v breathe_v the_o breath_n of_o life_n into_o you_o i_o these_o selfe-preaching_a man_n that_o make_v preach_v little_a else_o but_o a_o ostentation_n of_o wit_n and_o read_n do_v put_v this_o sword_n of_o the_o spirit_n into_o a_o velvet_n scabbard_n that_o it_o can_v prick_v and_o wound_v the_o heart_n it_o can_v work_v life_n by_o work_a death_n first_o it_o can_v quicken_v by_o kill_v before_o it_o quicken_v but_o the_o plain_a and_o downright_o preach_v of_o the_o word_n by_o lay_v it_o open_a in_o plain_a term_n to_o the_o eye_n of_o the_o mind_n and_o lay_v it_o hard_o to_o the_o very_a conscience_n by_o exhortation_n rebuke_n and_o comfort_n for_o which_o it_o be_v profitable_a even_o this_o foolish_a preach_n be_v that_o that_o must_v make_v you_o wise_a to_o salvation_n wherefore_o how_o much_o be_v it_o to_o be_v desire_v that_o all_o we_o minister_n will_v follow_v that_o whereby_o with_o fetch_v less_o circuit_n and_o take_v less_o unprofitable_a and_o selfe-intended_n labour_n we_o may_v do_v more_o good_a he_o offer_v salvation_n he_o will_v have_v you_o renew_v and_o he_o offer_v the_o spirit_n of_o renovation_n and_o if_o you_o want_v it_o it_o be_v only_o mere_o whole_o because_o you_o regard_v it_o not_o and_o because_o you_o will_v not_o take_v his_o direction_n in_o seek_v it_o o_o thou_o therefore_o that_o be_v unregenerate_a see_v thy_o unregeneracie_n desire_v to_o be_v regenerate_v call_v riches_n and_o honour_n of_o heaven_n appertain_v unto_o he_o as_o a_o inheritance_n that_o can_v fall_v beside_o he_o every_o true_a christian_a therefore_o be_v he_o of_o never_o so_o mean_a repute_n &_o part_n in_o the_o esteem_n of_o other_o or_o of_o himself_o be_v yet_o a_o great_a and_o a_o rich_a heir_n and_o have_v a_o mighty_a and_o large_a kingdom_n by_o virtue_n of_o this_o birthright_n appertain_v unto_o he_o for_o the_o exclude_v of_o all_o that_o be_v not_o bear_v again_o from_o out_o of_o heaven_n be_v a_o plain_a admittance_n of_o all_o they_o into_o heaven_n to_o sorrow_n and_o well_o may_v they_o thank_v themselves_o for_o the_o want_n of_o comfort_n see_v they_o will_v not_o open_v their_o eye_n to_o look_v abroad_o into_o the_o land_n of_o comfort_n i_o be_o sure_a if_o any_o of_o we_o be_v shut_v up_o in_o close_a prison_n for_o the_o space_n of_o one_o whole_a twelvemonth_n and_o shall_v there_o be_v destitute_a of_o all_o good_a attendance_n lodging_n fare_v and_o other_o comfort_n but_o withal_o be_v assure_v that_o at_o the_o year_n end_n he_o shall_v sure_o come_v out_o of_o prison_n and_o be_v make_v a_o great_a prince_n for_o all_o the_o rest_n of_o his_o life_n which_o shall_v endure_v for_o the_o space_n of_o forty_o or_o fifty_o year_n after_o he_o will_v scarce_o feel_v any_o trouble_n in_o that_o restraint_n any_o grief_n in_o those_o want_n any_o discontent_n in_o that_o bad_a usage_n yea_o so_o much_o familiarity_n will_v his_o thought_n have_v with_o the_o wealth_n and_o honour_n wherein_o he_o shall_v live_v so_o long_a a_o time_n after_o his_o enlargement_n that_o the_o imprisonment_n will_v seem_v nothing_o unto_o he_o and_o he_o will_v rather_o wish_v to_o lie_v in_o prison_n upon_o those_o term_n then_o to_o live_v in_o his_o house_n without_o those_o hope_n my_o brethren_n such_o and_o none_o other_o be_v your_o condition_n this_o world_n be_v your_o present_a prison_n and_o for_o some_o of_o god_n child_n it_o can_v be_v deny_v but_o that_o they_o do_v find_v in_o it_o somewhat_o course_n entertainment_n but_o it_o be_v certain_a that_o after_o a_o little_a time_n perhaps_o less_o than_o half_a
