governor_n have_v of_o their_o peculiar_a place_n they_o have_v other_o concern_v to_o look_v after_o viz._n achmi_n have_v the_o charge_n over_o the_o fire_n warrouna_n command_v the_o water_n wajouvia_n the_o wind_n cubera_n riches_n etc._n etc._n some_o account_n this_o bramma_n to_o be_v the_o same_o with_o pythagoras_n and_o according_o the_o brahmans_fw-mi have_v some_o book_n which_o they_o firm_o believe_v to_o be_v pythagoras_n own_o work_n which_o agree_v with_o what_o jarchas_n according_a to_o philostratus_n tell_v apollonius_n thyaneus_n viz._n that_o the_o indian_n believe_v that_o which_o pythagoras_n teach_v they_o concern_v the_o soul_n and_o instruct_v the_o egyptian_n therein_o but_o diogenes_n laertius_n who_o write_v the_o life_n of_o pythagoras_n make_v which_o have_v each_o their_o peculiar_a follower_n the_o wistnowa_n account_n wistnow_v the_o supreme_a god_n and_o none_o equal_a to_o he_o and_o from_o he_o they_o take_v their_o denomination_n this_o sect_n be_v again_o divide_v into_o two_o the_o one_o call_v tadwadi_n wistnowa_n or_o madwa_n wistnowa_n and_o the_o oath_n ramanouja_n wistnowa_n tadwadi_n signify_v a_o disputer_n and_o tadwadiste_v ceremony_n of_o the_o tadwadiste_v the_o tadwadiste_n mark_v themselves_o daily_o with_o a_o white_a stroak_n which_o from_o their_o forehead_n come_v down_o their_o nose_n and_o with_o a_o round_a circle_n about_o the_o bigness_n of_o a_o groat_n on_o their_o temple_n as_o also_o the_o upper_a part_n of_o the_o arm_n near_o the_o shoulder_n and_o on_o both_o breast_n which_o they_o say_v be_v the_o work_n of_o wistnow_v and_o serve_v as_o a_o shield_n to_o defend_v they_o against_o the_o devil_n and_o jamma_n the_o infernal_a judge_n that_o they_o dare_v not_o touch_v nor_o approach_v they_o they_o make_v promise_n to_o wistnow_v to_o acknowledge_v he_o for_o the_o only_a god_n to_o who_o they_o owe_v reverence_n and_o obedience_n neither_o do_v they_o think_v it_o sufficient_a to_o make_v the_o forementioned_a promise_n but_o they_o must_v always_o lead_v a_o pious_a and_o virtuous_a life_n they_o be_v under_o one_o supreme_a head_n who_o dwell_v up_o in_o the_o country_n near_o the_o city_n pallacatta_n in_o a_o place_n call_v combeconne_v he_o wear_v not_o the_o cord_n call_v tsandhan_o about_o his_o neck_n as_o the_o other_o brahmans_fw-mi neither_o tenet_n the_o ramanouja_n wistnowa_n mark_n themselves_o with_o a_o sign_n in_o form_n like_o the_o greek_a letter_n ypsilon_n viz._n they_o begin_v from_o their_o nose_n upward_o to_o their_o forehead_n which_o be_v do_v with_o a_o stuff_n like_o whiteing_n or_o chalk_n they_o also_o burn_v another_o mark_n in_o their_o flesh_n under_o their_o armpit_n which_o some_o account_n sufficient_a think_v it_o needless_a to_o mark_v all_o their_o limb_n every_o day_n this_o sect_n think_v it_o enough_o when_o they_o have_v once_o with_o a_o upright_a heart_n promise_v their_o god_n to_o be_v his_o servant_n and_o believe_v that_o though_o they_o live_v wicked_o all_o their_o day_n after_o god_n will_v be_v merciful_a to_o they_o for_o that_o promise_n sake_n that_o wistnow_v will_v never_o forsake_v those_o he_o once_o have_v receive_v into_o his_o favour_n allege_v that_o a_o father_n will_v not_o kill_v his_o child_n though_o it_o offend_v that_o a_o man_n can_v live_v without_o sin_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o wistnow_v shall_v cast_v off_o those_o who_o once_o he_o love_v the_o ramanouja'_v wistnowa_n must_n go_v bareheaded_a with_o short_a hair_n except_o one_o lock_n on_o the_o top_n of_o their_o head_n which_o in_o a_o knot_n hang_v down_o their_o neck_n the_o supreme_a head_n of_o this_o sect_n who_o reside_v in_o the_o city_n causjewaram_n in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o carmatica_n may_v from_o a_o peculiar_a privilege_n wear_v a_o cloth_n about_o his_o head_n yet_o not_o always_o but_o only_o when_o he_o speak_v with_o any_o body_n the_o ramanouja'_v esteem_v their_o sect_n to_o be_v better_a than_o that_o of_o the_o tadwadiste_n because_o they_o be_v no_o trader_n nor_o frequent_a house_n of_o public_a entertainment_n the_o second_o sect_n of_o the_o brahmans_n be_v call_v seivia_n or_o ardhiha_n the_o follower_n thereof_o believe_v one_o eswara_n to_o be_v the_o supreme_a god_n make_v all_o other_o deity_n inferior_a to_o he_o nay_o wistnow_v himself_o they_o make_v two_o or_o three_o stroke_n with_o the_o ash_n of_o burn_v cowdung_n on_o their_o forehead_n some_o also_o wear_v a_o certain_a stone_n the_o three_o sect_n be_v call_v smarta_n who_o promoter_n be_v sancra_n atsjaria_n the_o follower_n of_o who_o account_n wistnow_v and_o eswara_n to_o be_v one_o and_o the_o same_o though_o they_o worship_v they_o in_o two_o several_a shape_v they_o wear_v no_o outward_a mark_n of_o distinction_n among_o the_o common_a people_n this_o sect_n be_v not_o much_o esteem_v and_o therefore_o have_v not_o very_o many_o follower_n because_o their_o opinion_n be_v somewhat_o above_o the_o vulgar_n apprehension_n as_o to_o the_o deity_n of_o the_o two_o forementioned_a go_n the_o four_o sect_n be_v call_v scharwaka_n the_o follower_n whereof_o after_o the_o opinion_n of_o the_o epicurean_o believe_v no_o life_n after_o this_o and_o whatever_o other_o allege_v to_o demonstrate_v it_o they_o deny_v and_o will_v not_o be_v convince_v without_o a_o peculiar_a demonstration_n the_o five_o sect_n be_v call_v pasenda_n the_o follower_n whereof_o affirm_v that_o the_o doctrine_n teach_v among_o the_o heathen_n be_v irrational_a and_o senseless_a and_o therefore_o they_o regard_v it_o not_o but_o only_a mind_n their_o belly_n and_o let_v all_o thing_n run_v at_o random_n believe_v also_o with_o the_o scharwaka_n that_o the_o soul_n of_o a_o man_n die_v with_o his_o body_n for_o how_o say_v they_o be_v it_o possible_a that_o the_o body_n of_o a_o man_n be_v burn_v to_o ash_n shall_v ever_o come_v to_o life_n again_o but_o this_o argument_n they_o maintain_v not_o against_o the_o christian_a belief_n of_o the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a of_o which_o they_o have_v no_o knowledge_n but_o contradict_v the_o heathen_n opinion_n herein_o who_o set_v down_o a_o certain_a time_n after_o the_o expiration_n of_o which_o all_o thing_n shall_v be_v as_o they_o be_v now_o platonicus_n annus_fw-la platonicus_n this_o opinion_n be_v hold_v by_o plato_n and_o other_o who_o make_v the_o time_n to_o be_v thirty_o six_o thousand_o year_n the_o pasenda_n be_v by_o the_o brahman_n esteem_v worse_a than_o those_o of_o the_o four_o sect_n not_o only_o for_o this_o their_o opinion_n but_o also_o because_o like_a beast_n they_o make_v no_o distinction_n between_o father_n and_o mother_n brother_n and_o sister_n they_o eat_v with_o all_o man_n and_o sleep_v by_o any_o woman_n allege_v that_o in_o the_o person_n of_o another_o woman_n they_o lie_v with_o their_o own_o wife_n and_o for_o a_o good_a name_n among_o man_n they_o regard_v it_o not_o yet_o they_o be_v afraid_a to_o dispute_v their_o opinion_n with_o the_o other_o sect_n as_o fear_v they_o shall_v suffer_v death_n for_o the_o other_o be_v provoke_v with_o indignation_n against_o their_o wicked_a and_o abominable_a manner_n of_o live_v will_v certain_o fall_v upon_o and_o kill_v they_o as_o have_v often_o happen_v to_o the_o ruin_n and_o destruction_n of_o many_o of_o these_o atheist_n the_o six_o sect_n call_v tschectea_n neither_o believe_v in_o wistnow_v nor_o eswara_n but_o acknowledge_v one_o tschecti_n for_o the_o supreme_a god_n from_o who_o they_o affirm_v wistnow_v eswara_fw-mi and_o bramma_n to_o have_v have_v their_o original_n and_o also_o their_o power_n and_o likewise_o that_o the_o world_n and_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o same_o proceed_v and_o have_v their_o be_v from_o he_o these_o three_o last_o sect_n be_v by_o the_o brahmans_n account_v superstitious_a have_v but_o few_o follower_n of_o their_o wicked_a opinion_n those_o brahman_n who_o by_o their_o retire_a
husband_n which_o last_o word_n husband_n she_o repeat_v five_o time_n whereupon_o they_o answer_v this_o shall_v be_v do_v in_o the_o other_o life_n then_o she_o immediate_o die_v and_o the_o sun_n in_o the_o outward_a appearance_n of_o the_o body_n brahman_n the_o sendra_n and_o settrea_n condemn_v by_o the_o brahman_n and_o for_o this_o reason_n the_o brahman_n condemn_v the_o soudra_n and_o settrea_n declare_v they_o guilty_a of_o unpardonable_a sin_n because_o both_o these_o tribe_n kill_v all_o manner_n of_o beast_n for_o their_o food_n except_o only_a cow_n from_o which_o they_o all_o abstain_v but_o the_o settrea_n on_o the_o contrary_a affirm_v that_o they_o do_v better_a than_o the_o brahman_n who_o disturb_v many_o soul_n by_o pluck_v divers_a herb_n out_o of_o the_o ground_n to_o feed_v one_o person_n when_o as_o they_o by_o kill_v a_o
