we_o suppose_v be_v in_o grace_n through_o a_o work_n happy_o begin_v on_o their_o soul_n yet_o for_o several_a reason_n be_v not_o able_a to_o see_v this_o grace_n or_o reach_v to_o any_o discovery_n of_o it_o sometime_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o infancy_n of_o the_o work_n upon_o their_o heart_n be_v yet_o babe_n or_o rather_o embryo'_v in_o grace_n the_o first_o that_o appear_v upon_o light_n receive_v be_v a_o army_n of_o lust_n and_o potent_a corruption_n as_o we_o know_v paul_n set_v it_o out_o this_o cloud_n for_o present_a any_o other_o weak_a work_n that_o as_o yet_o in_o present_a be_v wrought_v in_o this_o time_n satan_n be_v not_o want_v he_o do_v not_o show_v so_o much_o artifice_v before_o to_o lessen_v their_o sin_n but_o he_o now_o make_v use_n of_o as_o much_o to_o aggravate_v it_o and_o as_o he_o be_v industrious_a before_o to_o seduce_v now_o he_o be_v as_o busy_a to_o accuse_v he_o lead_v the_o incestuous_a man_n to_o incontinency_n 1_o cor._n 7.4_o and_o therefore_o whatsoever_o they_o have_v see_v of_o grace_n heretofore_o or_o the_o favour_n of_o god_n now_o it_o be_v under_o a_o cloud_n which_o i_o believe_v be_v paul_n case_n when_o a_o messenger_n of_o satan_n be_v send_v to_o buffet_v he_o and_o a_o thorn_n in_o the_o flesh_n give_v he_o see_v it_o be_v put_v in_o opposition_n to_o the_o abundance_n of_o revelation_n that_o he_o have_v be_v take_v up_o into_o the_o three_o heaven_n 2_o cor._n 12._o and_o therefore_o have_v need_n of_o ordinance_n for_o support_v sometime_o on_o a_o soil_n receive_v by_o temptation_n of_o out_o of_o prerogative_n withdraw_v the_o ray_n of_o his_o spirit_n and_o refuse_v to_o testify_v with_o our_o spirit_n in_o which_o case_n the_o soul_n that_o be_v most_o upright_o with_o god_n and_o sincere_a in_o his_o fear_n walk_v in_o darkness_n and_o see_v no_o light_n in_o which_o there_o be_v need_n of_o all_o communication_n from_o god_n and_o attendance_n upon_o he_o in_o ordinance_n when_o these_o shall_v hear_v all_o in_o who_o the_o work_n of_o grace_n be_v not_o in_o truth_n thus_o warn_v to_o keep_v back_o and_o tell_v of_o the_o high_a danger_n of_o approach_v to_o this_o table_n in_o such_o away_o aggravate_v will_v not_o they_o put_v in_o their_o name_n and_o say_v their_o soul_n be_v now_o speak_v to_o they_o must_v therefore_o absent_v themselves_o and_o so_o the_o and_o the_o bruise_a reed_n break_v there_o have_v not_o be_v a_o few_o hungry_a sad_a soul_n that_o i_o have_v know_v that_o have_v bear_v the_o terror_n of_o the_o lord_n separate_z themselves_z for_o this_o reason_n but_o it_o will_v be_v reply_v by_o those_o that_o give_v this_o warning_n that_o they_o mean_v not_o these_o they_o be_v not_o at_o all_o intend_a in_o their_o speech_n these_o they_o will_v tender_v and_o with_o all_o endear_a affection_n of_o love_n encourage_v as_o those_o that_o have_v most_o need_v and_o be_v most_o fit_a to_o receive_v food_n for_o their_o strength_n but_o all_o of_o this_o help_v not_o when_o this_o proposition_n be_v lay_v down_o that_o no_o man_n in_o who_o justify_v faith_n and_o a_o new_a life_n by_o the_o spirit_n be_v not_o wrought_v may_v dare_v otherwise_o then_o on_o the_o peril_n of_o his_o soul_n to_o draw_v nigh_o hither_o will_v not_o such_o a_o soul_n necessary_o assume_v a_o new_a life_n through_o the_o spirit_n be_v not_o wrought_v in_o my_o soul_n i_o be_o conscious_a to_o myself_o that_o i_o be_o carnal_a whatsoever_o endeavour_n i_o have_v use_v to_o believe_v yet_o how_o far_o be_o i_o from_o faith_n in_o in_o the_o affirmative_a that_o they_o be_v in_o grace_n at_o least_o there_o be_v those_o hopeful_a sign_n in_o present_a that_o they_o can_v but_o conclude_v it_o and_o then_o they_o safe_o may_v come_v upon_o sight_n of_o this_o they_o may_v with_o cheerfulness_n make_v their_o address_n or_o else_o they_o must_v carry_v it_o in_o the_o negative_a all_o that_o be_v yet_o wrought_v be_v not_o say_v god_n have_v forget_v to_o be_v gracious_a and_o so_o they_o must_v keep_v off_o from_o the_o ordinance_n and_o debar_v themselves_o from_o those_o cordial_n those_o apple_n those_o flagon_n that_o be_v there_o tender_v and_o sick_a of_o love_n yet_o dare_v not_o intermeddle_v with_o the_o lord_n token_n that_o be_v tender_v to_o they_o or_o in_o the_o three_o place_n suspend_v and_o so_o sit_v down_o in_o doubtful_a fear_n whether_o they_o have_v grace_n or_o no_o and_o than_o that_o of_o the_o apostle_n rom._n 14.23_o he_o that_o doubt_v be_v damn_v if_o he_o eat_v because_o he_o eat_v not_o of_o faith_n for_o whatsoever_o be_v not_o of_o faith_n be_v sin_n will_v soon_o come_v into_o their_o thought_n and_o so_o all_o that_o be_v short_a of_o fullness_n of_o assurance_n seek_v who_o be_v the_o lord_n god_n know_v how_o to_o put_v to_o his_o seal_n to_o his_o own_o man_n who_o have_v not_o this_o knowledge_n must_v needs_o be_v here_o allow_v a_o great_a latitude_n either_o man_n entrust_v with_o it_o must_v have_v the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n as_o to_o this_o particular_a who_o they_o be_v in_o who_o a_o new_a life_n be_v and_o grace_v wrought_v or_o else_o they_o must_v be_v allow_v a_o great_a latitude_n to_o take_v in_o man_n that_o make_v profession_n of_o god_n and_o as_o member_n in_o church-communion_n may_v be_v edify_v by_o it_o i_o know_v this_o argument_n be_v carry_v another_o way_n and_o that_o we_o conclude_v the_o contrary_a upon_o a_o double_a account_n 1._o these_o seal_n of_o god_n outward_a and_o inward_a shall_v answer_v put_v in_o their_o life_n about_o their_o health_n their_o estate_n the_o nature_n of_o their_o ground_n or_o how_o to_o carry_v on_o their_o trade_n beside_o those_o multiply_v once_o of_o mere_a vanity_n and_o inconsiderable_a concernment_n they_o never_o have_v it_o in_o their_o thought_n to_o move_v a_o question_n of_o any_o concernment_n to_o their_o soul_n the_o young_a man_n question_n the_o jaylours_n question_n peter_n hearer_n question_n never_o come_v into_o their_o head_n i_o have_v see_v little_a evidence_n of_o good_a in_o these_o and_o i_o see_v little_a ground_n to_o believe_v any_o thing_n of_o faith_n in_o their_o soul_n you_o may_v speak_v of_o some_o of_o these_o as_o of_o man_n of_o good_a disposition_n of_o a_o fair_a nature_n and_o harmless_a life_n and_o course_n these_o may_v grow_v up_o in_o nature_n moralize_v and_o regulate_v when_o yet_o faith_n be_v far_o from_o they_o they_o may_v grow_v up_o high_a in_o profession_n but_o grow_v in_o the_o blade_n or_o leaf_n only_o and_o not_o in_o the_o root_n they_o may_v just_o be_v suspect_v every_o tree_n that_o bear_v a_o fair_a leaf_n do_v not_o bear_v good_a fruit_n and_o every_o apple_n of_o a_o fair_a colour_n be_v not_o to_o be_v desire_v for_o food_n such_o fruit_n as_o this_o may_v take_v where_o faith_n will_v not_o grow_v the_o prophet_n word_n then_o shall_v be_v heed_v break_v
