as_o touch_v the_o remember_n of_o god_n work_n out_o of_o faith_n and_o in_o faith_n he_o speak_v before_o in_o the_o second_o verse_n and_o in_o the_o four_o verse_n how_o that_o he_o consider_v the_o work_n and_o old_a do_n of_o the_o lord_n when_o he_o be_v trouble_v but_o as_o you_o have_v hear_v because_o his_o spirit_n be_v in_o a_o doubtfulness_n and_o mamere_n upon_o the_o certainty_n of_o god_n do_n he_o feel_v no_o consolation_n thereof_o but_o much_o heaviness_n and_o anguish_n of_o mind_n for_o those_o demand_n will_v god_n absent_v himself_o for_o ever_o will_v he_o be_v no_o more_o merciful_a and_o such_o like_a heavy_a and_o doubtful_a complaint_n can_v never_o proceed_v but_o from_o a_o sorrowful_a and_o much_o trouble_a conscience_n but_o now_o after_o that_o god_n have_v a_o sure_a faith_n in_o god_n take_v consolation_n of_o god_n word_n and_o work_n and_o such_o as_o have_v not_o first_o true_a faith_n in_o god_n can_v in_o the_o spirit_n receive_v comfort_n afflict_v and_o trouble_v that_o neither_o the_o felicity_n nor_o the_o person_n in_o who_o it_o dwell_v be_v any_o thing_n the_o worse_a for_o trouble_n and_o adversity_n before_o god_n but_o rather_o the_o better_a as_o you_o may_v see_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o say_v 5._o bless_a be_v you_o when_o man_n speak_v evil_a of_o you_o and_o persecute_v you_o and_o speak_v all_o no_o more_o merciful_a to_o help_v he_o out_o of_o trouble_n that_o special_o and_o particular_o suffer_v the_o trouble_n and_o this_o question_n so_o ask_v be_v very_o common_a and_o familiar_a to_o the_o christian_n and_o put_v they_o to_o great_a trouble_n and_o heaviness_n as_o we_o may_v see_v that_o this_o prophet_n asaphe_n consider_v the_o year_n before_o he_o and_o what_o god_n do_v to_o his_o elder_n and_o find_v that_o they_o receive_v remission_n of_o their_o sin_n and_o great_a benefit_n in_o this_o world_n at_o god_n hand_n so_o do_v a_o great_a number_n of_o man_n in_o hear_v and_o read_v the_o scripture_n of_o god_n see_v and_o perceive_v the_o remission_n of_o many_o man_n sin_n and_o how_o merciful_o god_n deal_v with_o they_o yet_o when_o they_o feel_v their_o own_o sin_n and_o suffer_v their_o own_o cross_n and_o trouble_v they_o have_v much_o a_o do_v and_o with_o great_a difficulty_n do_v they_o believe_v that_o god_n will_v be_v as_o good_a unto_o they_o be_v for_o god_n that_o give_v of_o his_o own_o gist_n and_o only_o free_a liberality_n wisdom_n knowledge_n learning_n and_o consolation_n give_v also_o the_o grace_n that_o the_o say_a virtue_n may_v in_o his_o faith_n be_v to_o doubt_v or_o to_o stand_v in_o a_o mamere_n of_o god_n mercy_n which_o be_v most_o sure_a and_o endure_v for_o ever_o and_o ever_o and_o to_o ask_v this_o question_n whether_o his_o mercy_n be_v clean_o go_v for_o ever_o the_o verity_n of_o his_o knowledge_n be_v to_o judge_v and_o say_v that_o it_o be_v his_o mercy_n that_o forgive_v sin_n and_o not_o he_o or_o any_o other_o man_n merit_n that_o can_v deserve_v the_o pardon_v of_o sin_n as_o you_o may_v see_v how_o sinful_a saul_n for_o his_o sin_n 15._o think_v to_o have_v appease_v god_n with_o sacrifice_n 18._o and_o the_o proud_a pharisée_fw-fr with_o his_o pretence_a good_a work_n but_o here_o in_o this_o knowledge_n that_o the_o prophet_n complain_v of_o the_o departure_n of_o god_n mercy_n be_v other_o be_v inward_a when_o that_o man_n can_v not_o feel_v god_n mercy_n in_o their_o conscience_n as_o they_o hear_v it_o speak_v of_o and_o as_o they_o read_v it_o in_o the_o book_n they_o be_v trouble_v and_o full_a of_o anguish_n and_o pain_n and_o as_o long_o as_o they_o be_v in_o this_o case_n without_o god_n mercy_n they_o can_v do_v nothing_o that_o plese_v god_n or_o content_v themselves_o but_o as_o soon_o as_o the_o spirit_n be_v assure_v and_o feel_v that_o god_n for_o his_o mercy_n do_v forgive_v and_o forget_v the_o iniquity_n that_o the_o spirit_n and_o body_n have_v commit_v and_o do_v against_o god_n it_o rejoice_v and_o be_v so_o glad_a that_o it_o will_v do_v nothing_o but_o that_o which_o plese_v and_o be_v acceptable_a unto_o god_n and_o in_o christ_n shall_v content_v and_o quiet_a his_o own_o conscience_n as_o for_o example_n adam_n before_o he_o inward_o feel_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n promise_v in_o christ_n 3._o to_o forgive_v and_o remit_v his_o sin_n and_o offence_n in_o what_o heaviness_n be_v the_o poor_a man_n he_o hide_v himself_o and_o can_v not_o abide_v the_o voice_n of_o the_o live_a god_n for_o he_o feel_v that_o his_o do_n heaven_n of_o this_o we_o learn_v wherein_o our_o profession_n consist_v consist_v first_o to_o learn_v god_n word_n secondary_o to_o bear_v it_o in_o our_o heart_n and_o remembrance_n three_o to_o understande_v it_o and_o four_o to_o speak_v of_o it_o to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o the_o edify_n of_o our_o neighbour_n and_o god_n word_n this_o way_n use_v shall_v keep_v we_o humble_a and_o low_o in_o prosperity_n and_o patient_a and_o strong_a in_o adversity_n but_o in_o these_o two_o verse_n be_v more_o word_n necessary_a to_o be_v consider_v if_o we_o will_v take_v consolation_n in_o adversity_n the_o first_o i_o will_v say_v
