voice_n out_o of_o the_o temple_n three_o by_o the_o matter_n command_v by_o the_o voice_n go_v your_o way_n and_o pour_v out_o the_o vial_n of_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n upon_o the_o earth_n this_o commandment_n thus_o give_v be_v according_o perform_v by_o all_o the_o seven_o angel_n in_o this_o whole_a chapter_n the_o first_o angel_n pour_v out_o his_o vial_n for_o 2._o and_o that_o be_v be_v somewhat_o dark_a and_o there_o be_v much_o variety_n in_o the_o interpretation_n of_o they_o i_o shall_v short_o open_v to_o you_o what_o by_o the_o compare_v of_o this_o and_o other_o scripture_n together_o i_o take_v to_o be_v the_o meaning_n of_o the_o word_n first_o when_o he_o say_v i_o hear_v a_o great_a voice_n it_o be_v a_o voice_n of_o authority_n and_o power_n and_o who_o can_v that_o be_v but_o he_o that_o have_v power_n over_o all_o these_o plague_n even_o god_n himself_o and_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n who_o also_o have_v power_n in_o the_o temple_n it_o be_v not_o the_o voice_n of_o one_o of_o the_o four_o beast_n the_o officer_n of_o the_o church_n alone_o but_o a_o further_a power_n do_v concur_v with_o this_o voice_n such_o as_o carry_v majesty_n and_o authority_n with_o it_o second_o out_o of_o the_o temple_n it_o impli_v it_o be_v a_o voice_n deliver_v not_o by_o one_o of_o the_o four_o officer_n in_o private_a but_o come_v out_o of_o public_a administration_n where_o only_o the_o lord_n speak_v do_v with_o authority_n set_v forward_o these_o angel_n upon_o this_o work_n and_o it_o may_v further_o imply_v that_o it_o spring_v upon_o some_o prayer_n of_o the_o church_n in_o the_o temple_n for_o all_o the_o voice_n in_o the_o temple_n be_v either_o the_o voice_n of_o the_o church_n unto_o christ_n or_o of_o christ_n unto_o the_o church_n and_o if_o the_o lord_n speak_v gracious_o in_o the_o temple_n it_o be_v common_o obtain_v in_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o church_n crave_v answer_n from_o he_o to_o the_o seven_o angel_n that_o be_v to_o say_v seven_o sort_n of_o god_n messenger_n whether_o magistrate_n or_o minister_n or_o whosoever_o they_o be_v that_o pour_v out_o these_o vial_n they_o be_v angel_n of_o god_n as_o be_v the_o messenger_n of_o his_o wrath_n neither_o be_v it_o mean_v of_o seven_o individual_a person_n but_o seven_o sort_n of_o person_n that_o set_v forward_o this_o work_n and_o withal_o i_o do_v accord_n with_o those_o that_o say_v that_o in_o all_o these_o administration_n there_o be_v some_o presence_n of_o the_o heavenly_a angel_n accompany_v the_o man_n in_o the_o work_n go_v your_o way_n your_o way_n be_v not_o in_o the_o original_a but_o go_v power_n out_o the_o vial_n the_o vial_n be_v vessel_n of_o large_a content_n but_o of_o narrow_a mouth_n they_o pour_v out_o slow_o but_o drench_v deep_o and_o distil_v effectual_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n vessel_n they_o be_v of_o full_a and_o just_a measure_n as_o all_o these_o judgement_n be_v dispense_v in_o weight_n and_o measure_n of_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n that_o argue_v that_o upon_o what_o subject_n soever_o these_o vial_n fall_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n fall_v together_o with_o they_o upon_o the_o same_o and_o that_o help_v not_o a_o little_a to_o open_v the_o place_n and_o to_o show_v the_o danger_n of_o some_o interpretation_n which_o do_v expound_v the_o sun_n vers_fw-la 8._o to_o be_v the_o scripture_n if_o these_o vial_n be_v the_o vial_n of_o god_n wrath_n how_o shall_v any_o of_o they_o be_v conceive_v to_o be_v pour_v out_o upon_o the_o scripture_n be_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n kindle_v against_o the_o scripture_n and_o for_o the_o earth_n vers_fw-la 2._o some_o conceive_v it_o to_o be_v mean_v of_o the_o common_a sort_n of_o godly_a christian_n but_o though_o some_o soar_v plague_n may_v befall_v some_o of_o they_o yet_o how_o can_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n be_v conceive_v to_o be_v pour_v upon_o they_o it_o can_v therefore_o be_v mean_v as_o some_o of_o good_a note_n say_v of_o the_o waldenses_n and_o albugenses_n huguenot_n and_o lollard_n but_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n fall_v upon_o such_o as_o worship_v the_o beast_n and_o his_o image_n and_o therefore_o take_v that_o for_o certain_a that_o what_o thing_n soever_o the_o vial_n of_o god_n wrath_n be_v pour_v upon_o they_o be_v such_o as_o god_n be_v deep_o displease_v withal_o upon_o the_o earth_n they_o think_v right_a that_o think_v it_o to_o be_v mean_v of_o the_o common_a sort_n of_o catholic_n
give_v he_o glory_n let_v all_o run_v in_o that_o stream_n that_o we_o acknowledge_v his_o justice_n and_o truth_n and_o mercy_n and_o grace_n and_o look_v up_o to_o he_o for_o receive_v from_o he_o whatever_o be_v of_o his_o mercy_n and_o grace_v needful_a for_o we_o and_o then_o we_o shall_v avoid_v those_o plague_n and_o judgement_n which_o be_v threaten_v or_o go_v forth_o against_o we_o it_o which_o be_v double_a 1._o proper_a and_o primary_n his_o kingdom_n be_v thereby_o darken_a 2._o the_o secondary_a and_o accidental_a event_n be_v three_o 1._o anguish_n and_o indignationâ—_n interpretation_n of_o it_o be_v the_o more_o difficult_a because_o it_o be_v general_o conceive_v that_o the_o execution_n of_o god_n judgement_n upon_o the_o beast_n have_v not_o yet_o go_v beyond_o the_o pour_v out_o of_o the_o four_o vial_n therefore_o conjecture_n about_o it_o will_v be_v the_o more_o difficult_a and_o it_o may_v be_v more_o uncertain_a yet_o because_o the_o scripture_n in_o itself_o be_v not_o dark_a how_o dark_a so_o ever_o we_o may_v be_v in_o our_o apprehension_n the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o beast_n be_v dark_a but_o not_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o lord_n have_v promise_v a_o gracious_a blessing_n upon_o all_o that_o read_v and_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o this_o prophecy_n chap._n 1._o verse_n 3._o so_o that_o by_o the_o compare_v of_o one_o part_n of_o this_o prophecy_n with_o another_o and_o observe_v the_o due_a poise_n of_o every_o word_n in_o his_o place_n with_o holy_a fear_n and_o reverence_n the_o lord_n be_v wont_a to_o lead_v his_o people_n into_o truth_n according_a to_o the_o promise_n make_v to_o the_o apostle_n john_n 16.13_o which_o be_v fulfil_v to_o every_o successor_n of_o they_o in_o some_o measure_n let_v we_o therefore_o go_v on_o in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n to_o consider_v of_o these_o thing_n first_o the_o difficulty_n chief_o lie_v in_o open_v the_o subject_n whereon_o this_o vial_n will_v be_v pour_v for_o open_v that_o and_o the_o rest_n will_v be_v clear_a the_o seat_n of_o the_o beast_n be_v general_o take_v for_o the_o city_n of_o rome_n and_o it_o be_v confirm_v from_o the_o like_a speech_n rev._n 13.2_o where_o the_o dragon_n give_v the_o beast_n his_o power_n and_o his_o seat_n or_o throne_n and_o great_a authority_n and_o therefore_o they_o gather_v from_o hence_o the_o ruin_n of_o rome_n apply_v also_o hereunto_o some_o prophecy_n of_o the_o sibyl_n who_o in_o their_o language_n tell_v we_o thus_o much_o that_o rome_n shall_v then_o be_v desolate_a and_o be_v as_o if_o it_o in_o the_o pour_v out_o the_o seven_o vial_n which_o impli_v that_o before_o it_o come_v not_o up_o in_o remembrance_n before_o god_n in_o point_n of_o actual_a punishment_n for_o thing_n be_v say_v to_o come_v up_o into_o â—â—â—â—â—brance_n before_o god_n when_o he_o take_v in_o hand_n either_o to_o show_v mercy_n to_o they_o or_o to_o pour_v out_o wrath_n upon_o they_o a_o sign_n that_o the_o vial_n and_o fierceness_n of_o his_o wrath_n be_v not_o yet_o pour_v out_o upon_o rome_n beside_o it_o be_v express_v in_o this_o text_n that_o upon_o the_o pour_v out_o of_o this_o vial_n the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o beast_n be_v darken_v but_o there_o be_v a_o great_a difference_n between_o darken_n and_o destroy_v egypt_n be_v darken_v before_o pharaoh_n be_v destroy_v or_o the_o body_n of_o egypt_n overwhelm_v in_o the_o red_a sea_n upon_o these_o ground_n therefore_o i_o can_v conceive_v that_o it_o be_v mean_v of_o rome_n but_o of_o something_o else_o which_o in_o scripture_n be_v to_o be_v understand_v by_o throne_n sometime_o it_o be_v put_v for_o that_o form_n of_o government_n and_o authority_n which_o any_o person_n or_o state_n sit_v on_o that_o throne_n do_v administer_v as_o it_o be_v say_v of_o christ_n that_o his_o throne_n be_v a_o throne_n of_o righteousness_n and_o that_o be_v not_o so_o much_o speak_v of_o the_o place_n where_o he_o govern_v as_o of_o the_o government_n itself_o so_o in_o the_o 89_o psalm_n 29._o &_o 36_o 37._o i_o will_v make_v his_o throne_n as_o the_o day_n of_o heaven_n and_o again_o his_o throne_n shall_v be_v as_o the_o sun_n before_o i_o it_o shall_v be_v establish_v for_o ever_o as_o the_o moon_n and_o in_o psalm_n 122.5_o throne_n of_o judgement_n be_v distinguish_v from_o the_o throne_n of_o the_o house_n of_o david_n to_o wit_n such_o as_o david_n have_v erect_v so_o by_o the_o like_a proposition_n it_o be_v here_o mean_v of_o that_o form_n of_o government_n which_o the_o beast_n exercise_v in_o the_o church_n rule_v for_o a_o throne_n be_v such_o a_o kind_n of_o seat_n wherein_o one_o of_o peerless_a authority_n do_v govern_v as_o a_o monarch_n in_o his_o own_o dominion_n indeed_o the_o universal_a supremacy_n of_o the_o pope_n both_o in_o spiritual_a and_o temporal_a thing_n whereby_o he_o challenge_v transcendent_a authority_n over_o all_o king_n and_o prince_n that_o be_v violate_v by_o the_o four_o vial_n of_o these_o angel_n but_o yet_o still_o here_o be_v another_o throne_n which_o yet_o hitherto_o remain_v unplagued_a and_o that_o be_v his_o singular_a sole_a authority_n and_o monarchical_a government_n whereby_o he_o sit_v chief_a and_o only_a judge_n in_o ecclesiastical_a cause_n in_o his_o own_o jurisdiction_n and_o like_v unto_o which_o he_o have_v establish_v the_o government_n of_o all_o national_a provincial_n and_o diocesan_n church_n and_o so_o this_o interpretation_n do_v very_o fit_o suit_n with_o the_o proper_a effect_n of_o the_o pour_v out_o of_o this_o jurisdiction_n inviolate_o and_o this_o he_o have_v bring_v into_o all_o national_a and_o provincial_n and_o diocesan_n church_n in_o the_o world_n where_o popery_n have_v prevail_v and_o which_o still_o continue_v in_o some_o protestant_a church_n where_o though_o the_o doctrine_n and_o worship_n of_o popery_n be_v abolish_v and_o the_o transcendent_a supremacy_n of_o his_o government_n yet_o the_o form_n of_o his_o government_n monarchical_a or_o sole_a and_o singular_a government_n by_o one_o that_o be_v episcopacy_n be_v still_o continue_v who_o be_v then_o the_o five_o angel_n that_o have_v pour_v out_o his_o vial_n upon_o this_o peerless_a government_n the_o episcopacy_n though_o it_o be_v say_v this_o vial_n be_v not_o yet_o pour_v out_o and_o though_o it_o haply_o be_v not_o pour_v out_o with_o the_o writing_n of_o such_o man_n who_o so_o conceive_v be_v under_o their_o hand_n
