forbid_v the_o devil_n to_o publish_v his_o divinity_n and_o man_n to_o declare_v his_o miracle_n and_o his_o disciple_n to_o tell_v of_o his_o transfiguration_n or_o as_o wash_v his_o disciple_n foot_n or_o as_o ride_v upon_o a_o ass_n or_o as_o converse_v among_o sinner_n and_o last_o choose_v to_o die_v between_o thief_n these_o and_o many_o such_o other_o instance_n of_o condescension_n argue_v the_o most_o profound_a humility_n that_o can_v be_v imagine_v and_o withal_o how_o concern_v our_o lord_n be_v to_o commend_v and_o endear_v this_o most_o excellent_a duty_n to_o the_o practice_n of_o men._n of_o all_o the_o virtue_n and_o excellency_n in_o the_o world_n one_o will_v have_v think_v this_o of_o humility_n least_o capable_a of_o be_v practise_v and_o exemplify_v by_o still_o he_o hold_v his_o be_v as_o precarious_o as_o he_o first_o receive_v it_o and_o depend_v as_o much_o for_o his_o existence_n upon_o the_o will_n

first_o matter_n in_o the_o spiritual_a world_n into_o which_o the_o form_n of_o the_o new_a creature_n will_v be_v introduce_v and_o if_o man_n do_v but_o contain_v himself_o in_o this_o nothing_o that_o shall_v be_v reveal_v to_o they_o that_o with_o meekness_n bear_v they_o and_o with_o fruitfulness_n improve_v under_o they_o he_o therefore_o have_v try_v both_o the_o worst_a and_o the_o best_a must_v needs_o be_v a_o proper_a judge_n in_o the_o case_n whether_o happiness_n may_v consist_v with_o affliction_n or_o no._n and_o he_o be_v so_o far_o from_o discourage_v his_o disciple_n from_o no_o good_a or_o laudable_a principle_n but_o be_v altogether_o of_o a_o neutral_a and_o indifferent_a nature_n again_o there_o be_v a_o sorrow_n that_o proceed_v from_o a_o ill_a principle_n as_o from_o malice_n envy_n covetousness_n ambition_n servile_a fear_n and_o the_o like_a and_o which_o tend_v also_o to_o a_o ill_a end_n as_o to_o revenge_n impatience_n despair_n etc._n etc._n according_o the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o of_o a_o worldly_a sorrow_n 7._o and_o of_o a_o sorrow_n that_o work_v death_n so_o far_o be_v all_o mourn_v from_o be_v christian_n mourn_v or_o from_o give_v joyfulness_n in_o every_o place_n for_o this_o be_v our_o portion_n and_o our_o lot_n be_v this_o this_o be_v the_o style_n of_o the_o epicurean_a school_n and_o there_o be_v also_o some_o christian_n who_o though_o they_o do_v not_o make_v the_o pleasure_n of_o the_o animal_n life_n their_o end_n lot_n and_o portion_n as_o do_v the_o other_o yet_o they_o think_v they_o may_v allow_v themselves_o a_o great_a scope_n and_o compass_n in_o it_o that_o they_o may_v indulge_v themselves_o to_o the_o full_a in_o all_o the_o mirth_n and_o jollity_n of_o the_o world_n and_o that_o there_o be_v no_o need_n of_o any_o such_o thing_n as_o mourning_n in_o zion_n these_o man_n seem_v to_o have_v the_o same_o notion_n of_o christ_n religion_n that_o the_o jew_n have_v of_o his_o person_n they_o look_v upon_o he_o under_o the_o character_n of_o a_o great_a temporal_a prince_n and_o dream_n be_v of_o nothing_o under_o his_o reign_n but_o victory_n and_o triumph_n and_o festival_n and_o vineyard_n and_o olive_n yard_n and_o so_o some_o think_v of_o his_o religion_n they_o look_v upon_o it_o as_o a_o fine_a gay_a secular_a jolly_a profession_n as_o a_o state_n of_o freedom_n and_o emancipation_n well_o as_o day_n of_o light_n in_o the_o christian_a calendar_n this_o be_v intimate_v to_o we_o by_o several_a expression_n and_o by_o several_a example_n in_o holy_a scripture_n thus_o the_o church_n in_o general_n be_v in_o the_o divine_a song_n of_o solomon_n compare_v to_o a_o dove_n which_o though_o considerable_a for_o some_o other_o quality_n be_v yet_o for_o nothing_o so_o
