as_o to_o give_v any_o power_n to_o ride_v and_o to_o sit_v in_o their_o place_n of_o honour_n and_o dignity_n and_o it_o may_v tend_v to_o the_o weaken_n and_o utter_a overthrow_n of_o parliament_n for_o thus_o the_o absence_n of_o the_o most_o part_n of_o the_o best_a qualify_v and_o experience_v may_v be_v supply_v by_o proxy_n grant_v to_o a_o few_o and_o of_o less_o ability_n the_o other_o be_v the_o grant_n to_o stranger_n have_v title_n of_o honour_n confer_v on_o they_o without_o any_o other_o interest_n in_o this_o kingdom_n power_n of_o sit_v ride_a reason_v consult_v and_o voice_n in_o this_o court_n of_o parliament_n whereas_o none_o shall_v be_v member_n of_o this_o court_n but_o such_o as_o have_v interest_n by_o birth_n blood_n or_o inheritance_n within_o this_o kingdom_n and_o so_o may_v be_v sensible_a of_o the_o prejudice_n or_o advantage_n follow_v the_o law_n and_o constitution_n thereof_o therefore_o the_o say_n estate_n statute_n &_o ordain_v that_o hereafter_o all_o nobleman_n viz._n duke_n marquess_n earl_n viscount_n and_o lord_n shall_v give_v their_o personal_a presence_n in_o all_o parliament_n &_o so_o be_v personal_o present_a reason_n and_o advise_v when_o our_o parliament_n be_v not_o sit_v of_o our_o council_n and_o college_n of_o justice_n as_o that_o we_o shall_v make_v choice_n of_o some_o one_o of_o such_o as_o they_o by_o common_a consent_n upon_o the_o vacancy_n of_o the_o place_n shall_v recommend_v unto_o we_o or_o if_o we_o shall_v conceive_v another_o person_n to_o be_v fit_a than_o any_o of_o these_o recommend_v we_o shall_v make_v the_o same_o know_v to_o the_o parliament_n or_o in_o the_o time_n between_o parliament_n to_o out_o council_n and_o session_n that_o from_o they_o we_o may_v be_v inform_v of_o the_o qualification_n and_o ability_n of_o the_o person_n name_v by_o we_o to_o the_o effect_n that_o if_o by_o their_o information_n it_o shall_v appear_v to_o we_o that_o there_o be_v just_a exception_n against_o the_o life_n and_o qualification_n of_o the_o say_a party_n we_o may_v timely_o nominate_v some_o other_o against_o who_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o just_a exception_n by_o which_o mean_v we_o doubt_v not_o but_o that_o we_o shall_v from_o time_n to_o time_n choose_v such_o honest_a man_n as_o for_o their_o know_a integrity_n and_o ability_n shall_v be_v fit_a to_o discharge_v their_o place_n and_o office_n with_o that_o duty_n and_o sufficiency_n which_o we_o and_o our_o subject_n may_v just_o expect_v which_o intention_n of_o we_o be_v now_o so_o clear_o and_o full_o express_v we_o doubt_v not_o but_o will_v give_v good_a satisfaction_n to_o our_o ensue_a parliament_n and_o as_o we_o never_o intend_v to_o remove_v just_a and_o able_a man_n from_o their_o place_n in_o the_o college_n of_o justice_n so_o do_v we_o now_o declare_v for_o our_o people_n full_a satisfaction_n that_o their_o place_n shall_v provide_v unto_o they_o quam_fw-la diu_fw-la se_fw-la bene_fw-la gesserint_fw-la and_o if_o this_o our_o answer_n can_v content_v the_o scottish_a commissioner_n we_o do_v then_o remit_v the_o whole_a answer_n to_o be_v consider_v by_o we_o or_o our_o commissioner_n and_o the_o parliament_n at_o the_o next_o sit_v thereof_o 9_o of_o june_n 1641._o to_o their_o desire_n of_o place_v some_o scottish_a man_n of_o respect_n about_o the_o king_n and_o queen_n majesty_n and_o the_o prince_n highness_n upon_o the_o ground_n and_o reason_n give_v in_o the_o 9_o of_o april_n 1641._o it_o be_v answer_v his_o majesty_n goodness_n and_o grace_n towards_o his_o subject_n of_o scotland_n in_o place_v they_o about_o his_o own_o person_n in_o place_n of_o great_a nearness_n and_o trust_n have_v be_v such_o as_o aught_o to_o give_v they_o full_a satisfaction_n of_o his_o royal_a affection_n towards_o his_o subject_n of_o his_o native_a kingdom_n therefore_o for_o this_o point_n his_o majesty_n need_v only_o to_o assure_v they_o that_o he_o shall_v continue_v the_o same_o care_n which_o hitherto_o he_o have_v do_v for_o their_o satisfaction_n in_o this_o particular_a and_o not_o only_o so_o but_o shall_v also_o recommend_v the_o same_o to_o the_o prince_n his_o son_n that_o successive_o the_o kingdom_n of_o scotland_n shall_v so_o taste_v of_o the_o care_n of_o their_o sovereign_n that_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n they_o shall_v never_o want_v a_o sufficient_a number_n of_o honest_a and_o sufficient_a person_n of_o that_o nation_n about_o the_o king_n person_n and_o prince_n against_o who_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o just_a exception_n the_o 9_o of_o june_n 1641._o to_o their_o desire_n that_o none_o may_v have_v place_n about_o his_o majesty_n and_o the_o prince_n but_o such_o as_o be_v of_o the_o reform_a religion_n in_o manner_n express_v in_o the_o paper_n 1._o april_n 1641._o it_o be_v answer_v his_o majesty_n do_v conceive_v that_o his_o subject_n of_o scotland_n have_v no_o intention_n by_o this_o proposition_n especial_o by_o way_n of_o demand_n to_o limit_v or_o prescribe_v unto_o he_o the_o choice_n of_o his_o servant_n but_o rather_o to_o show_v their_o zeal_n to_o religion_n wherein_o his_o own_o piety_n will_v make_v he_o do_v therein_o that_o which_o may_v give_v just_a satisfaction_n to_o his_o people_n 9_o june_n 1641._o to_o their_o desire_n give_v in_o the_o first_o of_o april_n concern_v the_o copper_n coin_n it_o be_v answer_v whereas_o the_o scottish_a commissioner_n have_v represent_v unto_o his_o majesty_n the_o great_a prejudice_n sustain_v by_o the_o kingdom_n of_o scotland_n through_o the_o coin_n of_o copper_n money_n which_o have_v pass_v there_o this_o long_a time_n bygone_a for_o seven_o time_n and_o above_o as_o much_o as_o the_o true_a value_n and_o worth_n thereof_o contrary_a to_o the_o continual_a custom_n of_o that_o kingdom_n and_o therefore_o desire_v that_o no_o copper_n money_n be_v coin_v hereafter_o without_o consent_n of_o the_o estate_n convene_v in_o parliament_n who_o may_v remedy_v the_o present_a prejudices_fw-la the_o country_n sustain_v thereby_o and_o who_o upon_o good_a consideration_n of_o the_o necessity_n thereof_o in_o time_n to_o come_v may_v appoint_v such_o a_o competent_a proportion_n as_o be_v fit_a and_o as_o the_o country_n shall_v require_v for_o the_o use_n of_o the_o poor_a and_o for_o change_v in_o buy_v and_o sell_v of_o commodity_n and_o that_o the_o same_o
