one_o imply_v the_o other_o express_v there_o be_v a_o judgement_n imply_v viz._n that_o though_o they_o be_v by_o call_v and_o in_o the_o account_n of_o the_o multitude_n builder_n yet_o god_n will_v reject_v they_o and_o go_v on_o with_o his_o work_n in_o convert_n both_o jew_n and_o gentile_n without_o they_o the_o judgement_n express_v be_v that_o christ_n who_o they_o so_o much_o hate_v and_o oppose_v shall_v be_v in_o spite_n of_o their_o heart_n and_o to_o their_o extreme_a vexation_n make_v king_n of_o the_o church_n and_o exalt_v to_o supreme_a power_n over_o all_o thing_n and_o the_o only_a stay_n of_o the_o whole_a church_n both_o of_o jew_n and_o gentile_n and_o herein_o it_o be_v to_o be_v note_v both_o the_o manner_n how_o this_o shall_v be_v do_v in_o the_o word_n be_v become_v or_o be_v make_v and_o also_o the_o time_n in_o that_o he_o say_v it_o be_v make_v builder_n quest._n a_o question_n may_v be_v move_v here_o for_o the_o sense_n viz._n how_o the_o scribe_n and_o pharisee_n and_o such_o like_a man_n can_v be_v say_v to_o be_v builder_n builder_n ans._n for_o answer_v whereunto_o we_o must_v understand_v that_o the_o scribe_n and_o pharisee_n and_o so_o wicked_a man_n that_o possess_v eminent_a place_n in_o the_o church_n may_v be_v say_v to_o be_v builder_n first_o in_o the_o account_n of_o the_o multitude_n whatsoever_o they_o be_v indeed_o yet_o they_o be_v common_o so_o account_v as_o builder_n and_o prime_a man_n in_o manage_v the_o affair_n of_o the_o church_n second_o the_o scribe_n and_o pharisee_n may_v be_v acknowledge_v in_o some_o respect_n as_o builder_n indeed_o they_o do_v god_n some_o work_n for_o howsoever_o they_o do_v not_o sound_o teach_v christ_n yet_o they_o draw_v the_o people_n by_o their_o doctrine_n to_o avoid_v on_o the_o right_a hand_n the_o stoical_a strictness_n of_o the_o essenes_n and_o on_o the_o left_a hand_n the_o profane_a irreligiousnesse_n of_o the_o sadducee_n three_o they_o be_v builder_n by_o call_v they_o have_v the_o name_n not_o so_o much_o from_o what_o they_o be_v as_o from_o what_o man_n in_o their_o place_n have_v be_v or_o aught_o to_o have_v be_v and_o these_o be_v the_o person_n that_o oppose_v christ_n and_o be_v thus_o severe_o judge_v of_o god_n diverse_a thing_n may_v be_v hence_o note_v first_o that_o man_n may_v be_v great_a in_o their_o own_o opinion_n and_o in_o the_o account_n of_o the_o world_n who_o yet_o be_v nothing_o set_v by_o of_o god_n such_o be_v these_o pharisee_n luke_n 16.14_o 15._o and_o therefore_o we_o shall_v labour_v for_o a_o spirit_n without_o guile_n and_o not_o be_v wise_a in_o ourselves_o or_o rest_n in_o outward_a show_n but_o seek_v the_o praise_n of_o god_n we_o be_v safe_a if_o god_n allow_v of_o we_o though_o all_o the_o world_n disallow_v us._n second_o that_o god_n will_v acknowledge_v free_o any_o good_a he_o find_v in_o his_o very_a enemy_n as_o here_o the_o pharisee_n be_v not_o deny_v the_o title_n of_o builder_n for_o nor_o look_v after_o they_o as_o it_o be_v and_o though_o they_o have_v law_n and_o a_o kind_n of_o government_n yet_o their_o law_n and_o custom_n be_v vain_a isaiah_n 10.3_o altogether_o insufficient_a to_o make_v they_o live_v happy_o use_v the_o use_n may_v be_v first_o for_o information_n and_o so_o it_o may_v inform_v we_o in_o two_o thing_n first_o the_o vanity_n and_o insufficiency_n of_o worldly_a thing_n riches_n power_n honour_n conquest_n carnal_a parentage_n and_o the_o like_a avail_n man_n nothing_o unto_o a_o bless_a life_n the_o gentile_n have_v all_o these_o in_o their_o great_a glory_n and_o yet_o not_o worthy_a to_o be_v call_v a_o people_n second_o we_o may_v hence_o gather_v the_o reason_n of_o these_o strange_a devour_a judgement_n which_o fall_v upon_o the_o world_n by_o war_n famine_n pestilence_n etc._n etc._n for_o inasmuch_o as_o world_n of_o man_n live_v without_o the_o compass_n of_o the_o obedience_n to_o god_n government_n and_o stand_v out_o as_o so_o many_o rebel_n the_o lord_n therefore_o see_v they_o will_v not_o be_v his_o people_n fight_v against_o they_o from_o heaven_n and_o make_v wonderful_a havoc_n among_o they_o as_o a_o great_a king_n that_o revenge_v himself_o by_o the_o strength_n of_o army_n upon_o rebel_n second_o for_o instruction_n and_o so_o we_o that_o be_v sinner_n of_o the_o gentile_n shall_v hence_o learn_v to_o acknowledge_v &_o praise_v the_o free_a grace_n of_o god_n who_o without_o our_o desert_n have_v reckon_v we_o in_o the_o court_n of_o his_o people_n we_o that_o be_v by_o nature_n viz._n none_o of_o god_n people_n three_o and_o especial_o it_o shall_v set_v out_o the_o misery_n of_o all_o man_n live_v in_o their_o sin_n without_o repentance_n and_o the_o rather_o shall_v we_o be_v move_v with_o this_o terror_n 1._o because_o no_o place_n can_v privilege_v impenitent_a sinner_n for_o not_o only_o profess_v gentile_n but_o even_o wicked_a israelite_n be_v in_o scripture_n reckon_v as_o no_o people_n the_o wicked_a be_v account_v as_o no_o people_n though_o they_o live_v in_o the_o church_n and_o dwell_v among_o god_n people_n for_o what_o be_v the_o chaff_n to_o the_o wheat_n though_o both_o lie_v together_o yea_o though_o man_n bear_v the_o name_n of_o god_n people_n yet_o god_n hate_v they_o never_o a_o whit_n the_o less_o for_o that_o and_o therefore_o to_o distinguish_v they_o and_o show_v how_o little_o he_o regard_v they_o he_o call_v they_o the_o evil_a people_n jer._n 13.10_o the_o disobedient_a and_o gainsaying_n people_n rom._n 10.21_o the_o people_n of_o gomorrah_n isaiah_n 1.10_o the_o people_n of_o my_o curse_n isaiah_n 34.5_o 2._o because_o god_n will_v show_v by_o his_o fierce_a wrath_n that_o he_o do_v not_o reckon_v out_o what_o people_n it_o be_v god_n except_v against_o first_o such_o as_o can_v live_v without_o god_n in_o the_o world_n people_n be_v not_o god_n people_n ephes._n 2.12_o such_o as_o can_v go_v whole_a day_n week_n month_n year_n without_o any_o hearty_a care_n of_o god_n or_o his_o glory_n or_o favour_n these_o be_v evident_o not_o a_o people_n second_o such_o as_o be_v of_o a_o stifneck_n such_o as_o will_v not_o let_v god_n yoke_n come_v upon_o they_o such_o as_o will_v not_o obey_v his_o voice_n but_o walk_v in_o the_o imagination_n and_o counsel_n of_o their_o own_o evil_a heart_n do_v he_o no_o service_n but_o as_o man_n law_n fear_v they_o to_o it_o a_o constant_a habitual_a alienation_n of_o the_o heart_n from_o the_o care_n of_o god_n presence_n in_o god_n ordinance_n be_v a_o sure_a sign_n of_o person_n god_n regard_v not_o ob._n but_o there_o be_v fault_n in_o the_o best_a man_n in_o the_o world_n and_o therefore_o why_o shall_v such_o as_o live_v in_o the_o church_n and_o profess_v the_o true_a religion_n be_v cast_v off_o only_o for_o live_v in_o sin_n see_v all_o be_v sinner_n sol._n i_o answer_v with_o the_o word_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n deut._n 32.5_o 6._o want_v of_o a_o religious_a life_n three_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o magistrate_n he_o shall_v have_v the_o better_a subject_n by_o it_o good_a christian_n be_v the_o best_a subject_n and_o the_o knowledge_n of_o religion_n and_o god_n word_n make_v man_n obey_v not_o for_o fear_n or_o custom_n but_o for_o conscience_n sake_n and_o for_o fear_n of_o god_n displeasure_n and_o beside_o it_o make_v man_n humble_a and_o charitable_a humble_a not_o to_o think_v themselves_o too_o good_a to_o obey_v and_o charitable_a in_o not_o suspect_v the_o meaning_n of_o prince_n further_o than_o they_o must_v needs_o and_o it_o restrain_v the_o excessive_a proneness_n of_o man_n nature_n that_o be_v without_o religion_n apt_a to_o speak_v evil_a of_o those_o that_o be_v in_o authority_n and_o chief_o because_o true_a religion_n will_v make_v man_n pray_v hearty_o to_o god_n for_o their_o governor_n and_o god_n himself_o do_v spare_v or_o bless_v they_o the_o rather_o for_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o righteous_a the_o use_n shall_v be_v to_o inform_v and_o teach_v all_o sort_n of_o man_n to_o take_v heed_n of_o separate_v what_o god_n have_v join_v together_o it_o be_v a_o extreme_a folly_n to_o give_v unto_o caesar_n what_o be_v due_a to_o caesar_n and_o not_o to_o give_v unto_o god_n what_o be_v due_a to_o god_n and_o so_o it_o be_v to_o give_v unto_o god_n what_o be_v due_a why_o the_o duty_n of_o magistrate_n be_v not_o here_o set_v down_o as_o well_o as_o the_o duty_n of_o subject_n i_o answer_v that_o in_o those_o time_n of_o the_o apostle_n the_o magistrate_n be_v do_v what_o they_o can_v to_o cover_v they_o and_o if_o they_o be_v evil_a man_n they_o must_v not_o speak_v of_o their_o dispraise_n without_o a_o great_a respect_n of_o glorify_v god_n by_o it_o and_o beside_o they_o must_v not_o venture_v so_o far_o to_o judge_v of_o the_o final_a estate_n of_o any_o man_n for_o any_o evil_n till_o the_o end_n come_v in_o the_o case_n of_o superior_n it_o be_v true_a they_o may_v use_v dispraise_n but_o it_o must_v be_v as_o a_o medicine_n which_o must_v be_v apply_v with_o many_o caution_n and_o the_o ingredient_n must_v be_v god_n word_n and_o not_o
