god_n that_o our_o nature_n be_v capable_a of_o to_o be_v our_o duty_n understand_v also_o that_o in_o reference_n to_o our_o gradual_a defect_n and_o intermission_n herein_o we_o ought_v to_o be_v deep_o humble_v as_o be_v faulty_a not_o unconcern_v as_o though_o we_o be_v innocent_a in_o this_o regard_n that_o we_o need_v continual_a pardon_n upon_o these_o account_n that_o we_o owe_v it_o to_o the_o blood_n of_o the_o redeemer_n that_o such_o thing_n can_v be_v pardon_v that_o we_o be_v not_o to_o reckon_v or_o ever_o to_o expect_v that_o blood_n shall_v stand_v we_o in_o stead_n to_o lug_v to_o and_o fro_o a_o dead_a carcase_n it_o will_v be_v upon_o this_o account_n needful_a to_o insist_v in_o show_v more_o distinct_o what_o sort_n of_o religion_n it_o be_v that_o be_v in_o itself_o whole_o undelightful_a propound_v some_o thing_n to_o consideration_n concern_v it_o that_o may_v tend_v to_o beget_v a_o dislike_n of_o it_o and_o so_o incline_v we_o to_o look_v further_o 1._o that_o we_o may_v know_v what_o we_o be_v not_o to_o take_v up_o with_o because_o our_o present_a subject_a confine_n we_o to_o this_o one_o measure_n of_o religion_n that_o it_o be_v delightful_a it_o will_v be_v proper_a to_o limit_v our_o discourse_n to_o this_o character_n only_o of_o the_o religion_n we_o be_v to_o pass_v from_o as_o vain_a and_o worthless_a viz._n that_o which_o be_v without_o delight_n which_o it_o also_o will_v be_v sufficient_a to_o insist_v on_o to_o our_o present_a purpose_n for_o since_o as_o have_v be_v large_o show_v the_o delightfulness_n of_o the_o religion_n which_o be_v true_a and_o live_v be_v intrinsical_v and_o most_o natural_a to_o it_o it_o will_v therefore_o be_v certain_o consequent_a that_o which_o be_v not_o delightful_a be_v dead_a and_o can_v serve_v for_o nothing_o and_o yet_o here_o it_o will_v be_v necessary_a for_o caution_n to_o insert_v 1._o that_o even_o such_o religion_n as_o be_v true_a and_o live_a and_o consequent_o in_o itself_o delightful_a yet_o may_v by_o accident_n sometime_o not_o appear_v
will_v that_o precept_n have_v be_v swift_a to_o bear_v slow_a to_o speak_v and_o how_o much_o to_o be_v regret_v a_o thing_n be_v it_o that_o the_o delight_n of_o practical_a live_a religion_n shall_v be_v so_o lose_v and_o vanish_v into_o a_o mere_a lip-labour_n thing_n of_o this_o nature_n be_v to_o be_v estimate_v by_o their_o end_n and_o the_o temper_n of_o spirit_n which_o accompany_v they_o which_o unto_o a_o serious_a and_o prudent_a observer_n be_v common_o very_o discernible_a and_o easy_a to_o be_v distinguish_v it_o be_v a_o amiable_a lovely_a thing_n to_o behold_v those_o odious_a when_o the_o thing_n design_v be_v nothing_o but_o self-recommendation_n and_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o pretender_n be_v visible_o vain_a and_o empty_a and_o when_o it_o be_v apparent_a will_v be_v mortal_a unto_o they_o and_o if_o the_o divine_a institution_n of_o the_o thing_n wherewith_o they_o so_o vain_o please_v themselves_o will_v not_o bear_v they_o out_o much_o less_o their_o own_o be_v their_o discriminate_a denomination_n or_o profession_n what_o it_o will_n and_o now_o all_o these_o thing_n whether_o several_o or_o together_o and_o whatever_a else_o of_o like_a kind_n do_v at_o the_o best_a make_v but_o a_o dead_a and_o consequent_o a_o undelightful_a religion_n such_o as_o have_v no_o pleasure_n in_o it_o because_o it_o have_v no_o life_n it_o remain_v religion_n itself_o be_v the_o thing_n we_o pretend_v to_o let_v ourselves_o be_v mock_v as_o we_o mock_v other_o and_o vain_o attempt_v to_o mock_v he_o also_o who_o be_v not_o to_o be_v mock_v with_o the_o mere_a empty_a show_n and_o appearance_n of_o it_o that_o we_o may_v be_v here_o somewhat_o more_o particular_a let_v it_o be_v consider_v 1._o that_o the_o religion_n which_o be_v in_o
