concern_v to_o vindicate_v be_v a_o true_a and_o sound_a part_n of_o this_o one_o holy_a catholic_n and_o apostolic_a church_n and_o all_o the_o mark_n of_o a_o true_a church_n do_v much_o more_o clear_o and_o full_o agree_v to_o it_o than_o to_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n but_o let_v i_o hear_v what_o they_o object_n to_o the_o contrary_n l._n first_o they_o say_v it_o be_v not_o one_o that_o be_v it_o be_v not_o unite_v because_o there_o be_v so_o many_o division_n in_o it_o some_o will_v be_v protestant_n some_o presbyterian_o other_o independent_o anabaptist_n quaker_n etc._n etc._n church_n and_o be_v themselves_o the_o schismatic_n because_o they_o make_v unlawful_a term_n of_o communion_n and_o exclude_v those_o who_o comply_v not_o with_o these_o term_n so_o far_o as_o they_o be_v one_o with_o the_o catholic_n church_n we_o be_v one_o with_o they_o so_o far_o as_o they_o retain_v that_o faith_n and_o worship_n which_o have_v ever_o be_v approve_v of_o in_o the_o church_n since_o the_o day_n of_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n we_o be_v ready_a to_o join_v in_o communion_n with_o they_o but_o the_o error_n and_o corruption_n which_o in_o latter_a time_n have_v be_v so_o as_o may_v conduce_v most_o not_o to_o the_o good_a of_o soul_n but_o to_o increase_v the_o wealth_n and_o honour_n of_o the_o pope_n and_o his_o clergy_n multitude_n of_o who_o especial_o those_o of_o high_a rank_n have_v live_v in_o pomp_n and_o pride_n yea_o wallow_v in_o all_o riot_n and_o luxury_n and_o by_o the_o bad_a example_n they_o give_v by_o the_o loose_a doctrine_n they_o teach_v and_o the_o large_a indulgence_n they_o grant_v upon_o easy_a term_n they_o have_v do_v much_o to_o promote_v and_o encourage_v wickedness_n among_o the_o people_n judge_n then_o i_o say_v contrary_a to_o it_o and_o be_v carry_v on_o by_o course_n no_o less_o contrary_a to_o the_o example_n and_o precept_n of_o our_o bless_a saviour_n t._n and_o by_o this_o mean_v i_o hope_v you_o do_v still_o more_o and_o more_o perceive_v that_o a_o man_n may_v be_v a_o sincere_a good_a christian_n without_o embrace_v of_o popery_n and_o particular_o this_o foundation_n article_n of_o the_o pope_n supremacy_n on_o which_o have_v be_v so_o long_o let_v we_o proceed_v to_o somewhat_o else_o chap._n vi_o of_o purgatory_n and_o prayer_n for_o the_o dead_a and_o indulgence_n l._n the_o next_o point_n which_o my_o author_n mention_n be_v purgatory_n and_o prayer_n for_o the_o dead_a which_o he_o put_v both_o together_o t._n not_o without_o cause_n for_o the_o latter_a depend_v on_o the_o church_n which_o be_v no_o part_n of_o true_a and_o save_a religion_n nor_o have_v ever_o be_v so_o account_v by_o the_o generality_n of_o christian_n and_o though_o our_o ancestor_n may_v have_v some_o excuse_n from_o the_o state_n of_o this_o church_n in_o their_o day_n yet_o we_o their_o posterity_n shall_v be_v utter_o inexcusable_a if_o now_o that_o our_o church_n have_v so_o just_o be_v at_o this_o day_n teach_v and_o impose_v in_o the_o roman_a church_n and_o i_o think_v it_o may_v come_v to_o pass_v through_o the_o wise_a and_o just_a judgement_n of_o almighty_a god_n that_o he_o have_v permit_v this_o corrupt_a church_n so_o foul_o to_o degenerate_v in_o some_o particular_a instance_n the_o better_a to_o preserve_v honest_a and_o well-meaning_a soul_n from_o be_v carry_v
