to_o do_v in_o their_o election_n except_o a_o empty_a show_n and_o therefore_o person_n be_v most_o common_o prefer_v not_o for_o true_a episcopal_a qualification_n but_o because_o they_o can_v make_v interest_n with_o superior_n but_o principal_o because_o the_o bishop_n arrogate_a to_o themselves_o the_o whole_a power_n of_o govern_v the_o church_n and_o exclude_v all_o the_o minister_n from_o any_o share_n therein_o a_o thing_n most_o unexcusable_a in_o they_o who_o acknowledge_v themselves_o to_o be_v of_o the_o same_o order_n with_o the_o presbyter_n and_o only_o in_o a_o degree_n of_o honour_n above_o they_o and_o that_o by_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o civil_a magistrate_n whereas_o even_o those_o that_o with_o any_o probability_n or_o sobriety_n maintain_v the_o divine_a right_n of_o episcopacy_n do_v nevertheless_o acknowledge_v that_o he_o may_v neither_o ordain_v nor_o govern_v without_o the_o advice_n and_o consent_n of_o his_o presbyter_n this_o be_v look_v the_o ceremony_n impose_v in_o the_o liturgy_n in_o the_o general_a they_o acknowledge_v that_o it_o be_v lawful_a for_o any_o church_n to_o consent_v to_o and_o lay_v upon_o herself_o necessary_a rite_n and_o custom_n such_o as_o circumstance_n of_o time_n and_o place_n and_o other_o emergency_n may_v make_v necessary_a for_o the_o present_a time_n but_o that_o such_o ceremony_n shall_v be_v natural_o consider_v be_v but_o circumstance_n of_o the_o worship_n also_o that_o the_o surplice_n seem_v to_o be_v take_v from_o the_o ceremonial-law_n and_o to_o be_v at_o least_o a_o imitation_n of_o those_o priest_n garment_n as_o many_o other_o ceremony_n use_v in_o the_o ancient_a church_n be_v either_o take_v from_o the_o jew_n or_o devise_v to_o imitate_v and_o be_v like_o they_o now_o our_o saviour_n have_v abolish_v the_o old_a ceremony_n give_v no_o leave_n to_o his_o church_n to_o devise_v new_a one_o neither_o do_v he_o abolish_v they_o as_o type_n and_o shadow_n of_o himself_o only_o but_o also_o as_o yoke_n and_o burden_n as_o carnal_a ordinance_n and_o servile_a custom_n wherein_o his_o people_n be_v keep_v in_o great_a bondage_n
that_o our_o nearness_n to_o rome_n will_v endanger_v our_o return_v to_o she_o again_o and_o see_v conformity_n itself_o to_o law_n and_o canon_n will_v signify_v little_a unless_o a_o man_n will_v will_v compel_v the_o brethren_n who_o be_v for_o a_o total_a desertion_n of_o rome_n to_o be_v of_o the_o same_o mind_n and_o practice_v with_o they_o and_o that_o by_o force_n of_o arms._n the_o lutheran_n in_o germany_n have_v only_o reform_v the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o church_n and_o the_o idolatry_n of_o the_o mass_n and_o cast_v off_o the_o pope_n tyranny_n and_o some_o other_o temple_n and_o synagogue_n but_o of_o any_o platform_n of_o prayer_n or_o service_n other_o than_o the_o institution_n of_o the_o law_n we_o find_v no_o memorial_n now_o if_o the_o jewish_a priesthood_n be_v able_a to_o discharge_v their_o office_n without_o prescript_n form_n of_o word_n and_o that_o people_n may_v be_v safe_o commit_v to_o their_o priest_n in_o the_o exercise_n of_o
