thing_n we_o may_v observe_v in_o the_o apostle_n assignation_n of_o the_o cause_n of_o our_o deliverance_n from_o a_o state_n of_o sin_n and_o acceptance_n with_o god_n 1._o that_o he_o assign_v the_o whole_a of_o this_o work_n absolute_o unto_o grace_n love_n and_o mercy_n and_o that_o with_o a_o exclusion_n of_o the_o consideration_n of_o any_o thing_n on_o our_o part_n as_o we_o shall_v see_v immediate_o ver._n 5_o 8._o 2._o he_o magnify_v this_o grace_n in_o a_o marvellous_a manner_n for_o 1._o he_o express_v it_o by_o all_o name_n and_o title_n whereby_o it_o be_v signify_v as_o 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d mercy_n love_n grace_n and_o kindness_n for_o he_o will_v have_v we_o to_o look_v only_o unto_o grace_n herein_o 2._o he_o ascribe_v such_o adjunct_n and_o give_v such_o epithet_n unto_o that_o divine_a mercy_n and_o grace_n which_o be_v the_o sole_a cause_n of_o our_o deliverance_n in_o and_o by_o jesus_n christ_n as_o render_v it_o singular_a and_o herein_o sole_o to_o be_v adore_v 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d rich_a in_o mercy_n great_a love_n wherewith_o he_o love_v we_o the_o exceed_a riches_n of_o his_o grace_n in_o his_o kindness_n ver._n 4_o 5_o 6_o 7._o it_o can_v reasonable_o be_v deny_v but_o that_o the_o apostle_n do_v design_n deep_o to_o affect_v the_o mind_n and_o heart_n of_o believer_n with_o a_o sense_n of_o the_o grace_n and_o love_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n as_o the_o only_a cause_n of_o their_o justification_n before_o god_n i_o think_v no_o word_n can_v express_v those_o conception_n of_o the_o mind_n which_o this_o representation_n of_o grace_n do_v suggest_v whether_o they_o think_v it_o any_o part_n of_o their_o duty_n to_o be_v like_o mind_a and_o comply_v with_o the_o apostle_n in_o this_o design_n who_o scarce_o ever_o mention_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n unless_o it_o be_v in_o a_o way_n of_o diminution_n from_o its_o efficacy_n and_o unto_o who_o such_o ascription_n unto_o it_o as_o be_v here_o make_v by_o he_o be_v a_o matter_n of_o contempt_n be_v not_o hard_a to_o judge_v but_o it_o will_v be_v say_v these_o be_v good_a word_n indeed_o but_o they_o be_v only_o general_a there_o be_v nothing_o of_o argument_n in_o all_o this_o adore_v of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o the_o work_n of_o our_o salvation_n it_o may_v be_v so_o it_o seem_v to_o many_o but_o yet_o to_o speak_v plain_o there_o be_v to_o i_o more_o argument_n in_o this_o one_o consideration_n namely_o of_o the_o ascription_n make_v in_o this_o cause_n unto_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o this_o place_n then_o in_o a_o hundred_o sophism_n suit_v neither_o unto_o the_o expression_n of_o the_o scripture_n nor_o the_o experience_n of_o they_o that_o do_v believe_v he_o that_o be_v possess_v with_o a_o due_a apprehension_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n as_o here_o represent_v and_o under_o a_o sense_n that_o it_o be_v therein_o the_o design_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n to_o render_v it_o glorious_a and_o alone_o to_o be_v trust_v unto_o will_v not_o easy_o be_v induce_v to_o concern_v himself_o in_o those_o additional_a supply_n unto_o it_o from_o our_o own_o work_n and_o obedience_n which_o some_o will_v suggest_v unto_o he_o but_o we_o may_v yet_o look_v further_o into_o the_o word_n the_o case_n which_o the_o apostle_n state_n the_o inquiry_n which_o he_o have_v in_o hand_n whereon_o he_o determine_v as_o to_o the_o truth_n wherein_o he_o instruct_v the_o ephesian_n and_o in_o they_o the_o whole_a church_n of_o god_n be_v how_o a_o lose_a condemn_a sinner_n may_v come_v to_o be_v accept_v with_o god_n and_o thereon_o save_v and_o this_o be_v the_o sole_a inquiry_n wherein_o we_o be_v or_o intend_v in_o this_o controversy_n to_o be_v concern_v further_o we_o will_v not_o proceed_v either_o upon_o the_o invitation_n or_o provocation_n of_o any_o concern_v this_o his_o position_n and_o determination_n be_v that_o we_o be_v save_v by_o grace_n this_o first_o he_o occasional_o interpose_v in_o his_o enumeration_n of_o the_o benefit_n we_o receive_v by_o christ_n ver._n 5._o but_o not_o content_a therewith_o he_o again_o direct_o assert_v it_o ver._n 8._o in_o the_o same_o word_n for_o he_o seem_v to_o have_v consider_v how_o slow_a man_n will_v be_v in_o the_o admittance_n of_o this_o truth_n which_o at_o once_o deprive_v they_o of_o all_o boasting_n in_o themselves_o what_o it_o be_v that_o
