and_o therefore_o the_o people_n have_v so_o bad_a a_o opinion_n of_o he_o that_o though_o they_o see_v how_o earnest_o he_o desire_v to_o see_v christ_n for_o which_o they_o may_v have_v think_v the_o better_a of_o he_o yet_o they_o murmur_v when_o our_o saviour_n go_v into_o his_o house_n because_o he_o will_v lodge_v with_o so_o sinful_a a_o man_n and_o yet_o zacheus_n though_o he_o be_v of_o the_o live_a god_n if_o a_o man_n shall_v make_v any_o curious_a work_n though_o the_o matter_n whereof_o he_o make_v it_o be_v either_o gold_n or_o silver_n yet_o we_o will_v like_v his_o workmanship_n and_o commend_v he_o for_o it_o but_o if_o he_o shall_v take_v the_o dross_n thereof_o and_o to_o show_v his_o cunning_n shall_v make_v as_o exquisite_a a_o piece_n of_o work_n as_o the_o former_a than_o we_o will_v have_v he_o in_o admiration_n but_o god_n even_o of_o the_o scum_n as_o it_o be_v of_o the_o people_n even_o of_o those_o that_o of_o all_o other_o be_v the_o vile_a of_o sinner_n he_o make_v singular_a instrument_n of_o his_o own_o glory_n and_o inable_v they_o to_o bring_v forth_o excellent_a fruit_n by_o convert_v they_o to_o grace_n as_o he_o do_v here_o zacheus_n which_o may_v teach_v we_o to_o admire_v his_o infinite_a power_n second_o see_v zacheus_n be_v here_o convert_v it_o may_v teach_v we_o neither_o to_o judge_v rash_o of_o other_o nor_o to_o despair_v of_o ourselves_o though_o we_o have_v be_v never_o so_o heinous_a sinner_n for_o who_o can_v despair_v of_o god_n mercy_n which_o extend_v itself_o even_o to_o those_o that_o be_v publican_n the_o whole_a scripture_n be_v write_v for_o our_o instruction_n and_o there_o be_v not_o so_o much_o as_o one_o example_n in_o the_o whole_a book_n of_o god_n but_o a_o man_n may_v make_v excellent_a he_o never_o expostulate_v why_o he_o have_v leave_v he_o he_o never_o demand_v how_o he_o have_v spend_v his_o portion_n but_o forget_v all_o his_o former_a lewd_a behaviour_n he_o entertain_v he_o as_o glad_o as_o if_o he_o have_v never_o offend_v he_o be_v we_o not_o to_o make_v this_o use_n thereof_o that_o though_o we_o have_v run_v riot_n with_o the_o prodigal_n and_o live_v never_o so_o lewd_o yet_o if_o we_o repent_v and_o return_v unto_o god_n he_o will_v receive_v we_o into_o favour_n as_o he_o do_v this_o prodigal_n for_o these_o thing_n be_v write_v for_o our_o instruction_n that_o we_o may_v apply_v the_o same_o to_o ourselves_o and_o find_v comfort_n in_o they_o it_o be_v a_o custom_n among_o some_o of_o the_o heathen_a that_o when_o any_o man_n be_v cure_v of_o any_o dangerous_a disease_n he_o go_v into_o the_o temple_n of_o aesculapius_n and_o there_o he_o register_v his_o name_n and_o disease_n and_o the_o mean_n whereby_o he_o be_v restore_v to_o his_o health_n and_o the_o reason_n of_o this_o custom_n among_o they_o be_v this_o that_o if_o any_o man_n fall_v afterward_o into_o the_o like_a disease_n he_o may_v there_o find_v the_o mean_n which_o he_o be_v to_o use_v for_o his_o recovery_n and_o thus_o have_v god_n secretary_n the_o penman_n of_o the_o scripture_n set_v down_o in_o the_o book_n of_o god_n many_o several_a example_n of_o such_o as_o have_v be_v heinous_a and_o notorious_a sinner_n to_o the_o intent_n that_o we_o observe_v both_o how_o they_o fall_v and_o be_v afterward_o restore_v find_v mercy_n through_o their_o unfeigned_a repentance_n may_v learn_v by_o their_o example_n not_o to_o despair_v of_o mercy_n and_o therefore_o to_o conclude_v the_o first_o point_n when_o soever_o thou_o be_v ready_a to_o despair_v of_o
