god_n chief_o in_o this_o matter_n must_v be_v consider_v with_o humble_a reverence_n his_o infinite_a understanding_n or_o knowledge_n his_o just_a will._n his_o sovereign_a dominion_n his_o knowledge_n may_v be_v conceive_v of_o two_o sort_n that_o which_o be_v call_v scientia_fw-la visionis_fw-la knowledge_n of_o vision_n or_o that_o which_o be_v scientia_fw-la simplicis_fw-la understand_v and_o compare_v together_o before_o any_o thing_n be_v decree_v or_o determine_v to_o be_v this_o knowledge_n be_v found_v on_o god_n omnipotency_n for_o he_o know_v his_o own_o power_n and_o so_o it_o be_v of_o thing_n but_o as_o possible_a to_o be_v if_o he_o please_v to_o give_v they_o be_v and_o he_o know_v also_o by_o this_o his_o understanding_n if_o he_o please_v to_o give_v they_o be_v what_o will_v be_v their_o operation_n and_o effect_n and_o what_o may_v flow_v or_o issue_v from_o they_o either_o as_o they_o be_v natural_a agent_n or_o voluntary_a so_o by_o this_o mean_v the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n arise_v to_o a_o infiniteness_n and_o to_o be_v without_o number_n as_o the_o psalm_n say_v 147._o 5._o but_o if_o it_o shall_v be_v limit_v to_o these_o thing_n alone_o which_o have_v a_o be_v and_o be_v within_o the_o circle_n of_o heaven_n or_o within_o the_o compass_n of_o the_o age_n of_o the_o world_n the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n shall_v in_o a_o sort_n be_v finite_a since_o these_o thing_n though_o to_o we_o they_o be_v many_o yet_o certain_o they_o be_v finite_a now_o the_o first_o act_n of_o predestination_n be_v in_o choose_v these_o thing_n to_o freedom_n will_v vary_v in_o their_o choice_n some_o cleave_v fast_o to_o good_a some_o decline_a to_o evil_n he_o know_v this_o not_o only_o in_o general_n and_o as_o possible_a but_o particular_o the_o very_a person_n if_o they_o be_v create_v and_o put_v to_o the_o trial_n yet_o it_o remain_v at_o his_o pleasure_n to_o create_v they_o or_o to_o try_v they_o or_o no_o to_o permit_v or_o hinder_v any_o of_o they_o in_o their_o choice_n which_o he_o know_v how_o to_o do_v if_o he_o will_v 3._o that_o he_o do_v understand_v that_o of_o they_o who_o he_o know_v will_v forsake_v their_o first_o good_a estate_n if_o he_o permit_v they_o he_o may_v just_o forsake_v some_o and_o punish_v they_o for_o their_o rebellion_n or_o he_o can_v find_v mean_n to_o restore_v they_o and_o reconcile_v they_o to_o himself_o but_o yet_o he_o determine_v neither_o 4._o that_o he_o understand_v that_o it_o may_v be_v more_o justifiable_a and_o equal_a not_o to_o spare_v angel_n but_o to_o show_v mercy_n to_o man_n as_o more_o frail_a and_o weak_a as_o also_o deceive_v by_o angel_n yet_o he_o will_v consider_v what_o to_o do_v 5._o that_o he_o understand_v that_o if_o he_o shall_v out_o decree_n fiant_fw-la let_v they_o be_v so_o this_o frame_n this_o order_n these_o cause_n with_o their_o effect_n these_o benefit_n these_o mercy_n these_o judgement_n these_o end_n glory_n to_o some_o shame_n to_o other_o let_v they_o be_v establish_v and_o ratify_v to_o the_o glory_n of_o the_o divine_a wisdom_n justice_n grace_n power_n and_o holiness_n amen_o amen_n amen_n say_v the_o bless_a and_o eternal_a trinity_n thus_o the_o will_n of_o god_n come_v to_o his_o knowledge_n make_v the_o decree_n of_o predestination_n which_o knowledge_n or_o understanding_n alone_o do_v not_o understand_v this_o mystery_n can_v conclude_v it_o the_o distinction_n of_o the_o will_n of_o god_n be_v that_o of_o damascen_n out_o of_o chrysostome_n into_o his_o antecedent_n and_o consequent_a will_n that_o be_v his_o chief_a and_o primary_n will_n proceed_v out_o of_o himself_o or_o out_o of_o his_o own_o goodness_n and_o therefore_o be_v call_v by_o anselme_n the_o will_n of_o his_o
