exception_n high_a or_o low_a rich_a or_o poor_a noble_a or_o simple_a bear_v in_o the_o visible_a church_n or_o without_o and_o further_o by_o be_v enemy_n of_o god_n he_o be_v therefore_o bear_v subject_a to_o hell_n to_o damnation_n and_o to_o all_o other_o curse_n so_o that_o look_v as_o a_o traitor_n convict_v stand_v thereby_o in_o his_o prince_n high_a displeasure_n and_o be_v sure_a of_o death_n without_o special_a pardon_n so_o stand_v every_o man_n when_o he_o be_v bear_v convict_v of_o high_a treason_n against_o god_n in_o his_o high_a disfavour_v and_o be_v in_o danger_n of_o he_o be_v low_a they_o shall_v also_o spit_v he_o out_o of_o their_o heart_n and_o that_o be_v true_a defiance_n indeed_o for_o alas_o he_o lodge_v in_o thy_o heart_n and_o there_o he_o make_v his_o themselves_o too_o much_o liberty_n in_o many_o sin_n but_o alas_o the_o pure_a wheat_n how_o thin_a be_v it_o scatter_v how_o hard_o to_o find_v a_o man_n at_o least_o a_o family_n which_o dedicate_v themselves_o to_o the_o lord_n in_o holy_a and_o sincere_a obedience_n and_o labour_n to_o make_v conscience_n of_o all_o sin_n now_o therefore_o see_v we_o be_v god_n corn_n field_n and_o we_o have_v some_o pure_a wheat_n among_o much_o chaff_n therefore_o god_n will_v winnow_v we_o to_o find_v out_o the_o corn_n if_o he_o have_v but_o one_o corn_n of_o wheat_n in_o a_o handful_n of_o chaff_n but_o one_o good_a man_n of_o many_o he_o will_v stir_v all_o the_o heap_n for_o those_o few_o corn_n he_o will_v not_o care_v to_o blow_v all_o the_o chaff_n to_o hell_n to_o find_v out_o those_o few_o corn_n of_o wheat_n to_o lay_v they_o up_o in_o heaven_n so_o that_o out_o of_o all_o question_n england_n be_v so_o full_o of_o chaff_n must_v look_v to_o be_v winnow_v now_o for_o the_o first_o fan_n of_o his_o word_n it_o have_v be_v use_v in_o this_o land_n these_o five_o and_o thirty_o year_n and_o that_o as_o powerful_o and_o as_o plentiful_o as_o any_o where_o in_o the_o world_n and_o yet_o alas_o many_o be_v more_o godless_a more_o ignorant_a more_o profane_a than_o ever_o they_o be_v yea_o wickedness_n grow_v and_o the_o chaff_n increase_v above_o the_o wheat_n be_v sure_a upon_o we_o &_o it_o have_v already_o begin_v to_o blow_v three_o or_o four_o blast_n have_v blow_v over_o we_o famine_n pestilence_n earthquake_n fire_n water_n wind_n these_o have_v so_o blow_v some_o of_o we_o that_o they_o have_v take_v away_o a_o great_a number_n of_o us._n for_o we_o that_o remain_v this_o only_a remain_v that_o we_o week_n strengthen_v ourselves_o by_o grace_n to_o be_v able_a to_o stand_v against_o the_o next_o blast_n for_o come_v it_o will_v &_o when_o it_o come_v no_o wealth_n nor_o worldly_a thing_n can_v enable_v we_o to_o endure_v it_o only_a faith_n &_o soul_n into_o hell_n but_o to_o labour_v to_o efchew_v this_o fearful_a fan_n of_o god_n wrath_n or_o at_o least_o if_o it_o come_v upon_o we_o that_o it_o may_v not_o blow_v we_o to_o hell_n but_o hasten_v we_o to_o heaven_n it_o thy_o heart_n be_v touch_v to_o ask_v how_o this_o may_v be_v i_o answer_v thou_o only_o to_o follow_v the_o prophet_n advice_n in_o this_o place_n by_o search_v and_o try_v ourselves_o the_o way_n to_o escape_v god_n trial_n be_v to_o try_v thyself_o and_o to_o escape_v god_n judgement_n to_o be_v a_o judge_n to_o thy_o own_o soul_n and_o so_o the_o way_n to_o escape_v the_o fearful_a fan_n of_o god_n be_v to_o fan_v thy_o own_o heart_n by_o the_o law_n of_o god_n for_o whosoever_o the_o first_o fan_n that_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n do_v work_v upon_o these_o man_n be_v never_o blow_v away_o with_o the_o fan_n of_o god_n judgement_n o_o then_o entertain_v the_o word_n of_o god_n into_o thy_o heart_n submit_v thy_o soul_n unto_o it_o let_v it_o pierce_v &_o try_v and_o ransack_v thy_o heart_n and_o lay_v before_o thou_o thy_o wretched_a estate_n by_o thy_o sin_n and_o when_o thou_o see_v thynakednesse_n and_o misery_n confess_v it_o bewail_v their_o good_a meaning_n and_o upright_o heart_n and_o brag_v of_o a_o good_a nature_n but_o they_o be_v foul_o deceive_v for_o take_v the_o civil_a man_n upon_o the_o earth_n and_o the_o seed_n of_o all_o sin_n in_o the_o world_n be_v in_o he_o by_o nature_n but_o to_o explain_v this_o point_n full_o observe_v these_o two_o clause_n first_o i_o say_v not_o the_o practice_n of_o all_o sin_n but_o the_o seed_n for_o all_o man_n practise_v not_o all_o sin_n the_o seed_n be_v in_o their_o nature_n but_o the_o practice_n be_v restrain_v sometime_o by_o education_n sometime_o by_o good_a and_o wholesome_a law_n sometime_o the_o constitution_n of_o man_n body_n deny_v the_o practice_n of_o some_o sin_n sometime_o the_o country_n a_o man_n dwell_v in_o or_o call_v a_o man_n live_v in_o keep_v he_o from_o the_o practice_n of_o some_o sin_n and_o always_o a_o general_a and_o limit_v grace_n of_o god_n restrain_v the_o nature_n of_o all_o man_n from_o run_v into_o many_o sin_n which_o hand_n of_o god_n if_o god_n shall_v take_v away_o and_o leave_v every_o man_n to_o his_o nature_n we_o shall_v see_v that_o every_o man_n will_v practice_v any_o sin_n in_o the_o world_n yea_o even_o the_o great_a sin_n that_o ever_o we_o hear_v to_o be_v do_v in_o the_o world_n all_o man_n which_o know_v themselves_o know_v this_o to_o be_v true_a and_o the_o more_o a_o man_n know_v his_o own_o heart_n the_o more_o he_o see_v that_o his_o heart_n be_v a_o sea_n of_o all_o wickedness_n &_o that_o it_o be_v the_o mercy_n and_o grace_n of_o god_n that_o he_o have_v not_o fall_v into_o the_o mighty_a be_v no_o thanks_n to_o nature_n for_o it_o be_v as_o evil_a and_o corrupt_a still_o be_v sever_v from_o grace_n and_o therefore_o nature_n must_v be_v full_o abolish_v afore_o man_n come_v to_o heaven_n and_o yet_o though_o all_o this_o be_v true_a i_o say_v not_o that_o sin_n break_v out_o in_o all_o nature_n alike_o though_o all_o nature_n be_v alike_o corrupt_a for_o the_o course_n of_o nature_n be_v restrain_v in_o some_o more_o than_o other_o by_o the_o mean_v aforesaid_a but_o this_o be_v the_o truth_n that_o whereas_o some_o be_v not_o so_o angry_a some_o not_o so_o wanton_a some_o not_o so_o cruel_a some_o not_o so_o covetous_a some_o not_o so_o ambitious_a etc._n etc._n as_o other_o that_o come_v not_o from_o any_o goodness_n of_o nature_n in_o they_o above_o the_o other_o original_o but_o from_o god_n hand_n which_o temper_v restrain_v and_o moderate_v every_o man_n nature_n as_o he_o see_v good_a and_o if_o god_n do_v not_o thus_o moderate_a &_o restrain_v the_o nature_n of_o man_n but_o suffer_v they_o to_o break_v out_o to_o the_o full_a there_o will_v then_o be_v no_o order_n but_o all_o confusion_n in_o the_o world_n therefore_o as_o especial_o for_o his_o church_n quietness_n so_o also_o for_o the_o preservation_n of_o public_a peace_n and_o the_o uphold_v of_o society_n in_o the_o world_n between_o man_n and_o man_n the_o lord_n hold_v a_o hand_n over_o every_o man_n nature_n and_o keep_v every_o one_o in_o a_o certain_a compass_n limit_v by_o the_o wisdom_n of_o his_o power_n which_o restrain_v hand_n of_o he_o if_o the_o lord_n shall_v take_v away_o all_o society_n and_o common_a wealth_n will_v be_v turn_v upside_o down_o because_o every_o man_n by_o the_o universal_a corruption_n of_o his_o nature_n will_v break_v out_o into_o every_o sin_n i_o end_v this_o point_n with_o appeal_n to_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o conscience_n of_o all_o man_n and_o especial_o of_o the_o best_a and_o holy_a man_n of_o who_o i_o compass_n of_o obedience_n nay_o i_o yet_o add_v further_o the_o nature_n of_o man_n and_o of_o all_o man_n be_v so_o corrupt_a since_o adam_n that_o even_o the_o seed_n of_o the_o sin_n against_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o a_o proneness_n to_o it_o be_v in_o the_o nature_n of_o every_o man_n though_o not_o one_o man_n among_o many_o thousand_o do_v commit_v that_o sin_n for_o see_v in_o that_o sin_n there_o be_v a_o heap_n or_o sea_n of_o all_o sin_n gather_v together_o
belove_v of_o their_o god_n requite_v this_o his_o love_n which_o they_o have_v no_o more_o deserve_v than_o any_o other_o nation_n certain_o as_o they_o deserve_v it_o not_o afore_o they_o have_v it_o so_o they_o requite_v it_o not_o when_o they_o have_v it_o but_o requite_v this_o love_n of_o god_n with_o sin_n with_o rebellion_n and_o with_o disobedience_n they_o tempt_v he_o they_o provoke_v he_o to_o wrath_n they_o presume_v of_o his_o mercy_n &_o prove_v a_o most_o stubborn_a and_o stifnecked_a people_n a_o froward_a generation_n moses_n partly_o see_v this_o in_o his_o own_o experience_n &_o better_a discern_v it_o in_o the_o spirit_n of_o prophecy_n and_o therefore_o wonder_v at_o this_o their_o wickedness_n he_o cry_v out_o do_v you_o thus_o requite_v the_o lord_n o_o foolish_a people_n &_o unwise_a 5_o thus_o that_o be_v with_o sin_n &_o disobedience_n which_o be_v the_o only_a mean_n to_o displease_v the_o lord_n &_o to_o provoke_v he_o to_o wrath_n for_o this_o cause_n they_o be_v worthy_o call_v a_o foolish_a and_o unkind_a people_n by_o moses_n and_o here_o by_o the_o prophet_n a_o nation_n not_o worthy_a to_o be_v belove_v namely_o for_o their_o unthankefulnes_n and_o unkindness_n which_o be_v such_o as_o they_o not_o only_o be_v slack_v and_o careless_a in_o performance_n of_o such_o duty_n as_o god_n require_v but_o even_o multiply_v their_o sin_n &_o commit_v those_o foul_a rebellion_n which_o his_o soul_n hate_v and_o among_o many_o the_o prophet_n here_o in_o this_o chapter_n note_v three_o of_o their_o great_a sin_n for_o and_o hereby_o the_o prophet_n o_o nation_n not_o worthy_a to_o be_v belove_v &_o therefore_o there_o be_v no_o man_n but_o if_o he_o be_v ask_v what_o he_o think_v of_o this_o nation_n of_o the_o this_o we_o have_v a_o land_n also_o that_o flow_v with_o milk_n &_o honey_n it_o be_v plentiful_a in_o all_o good_a thing_n we_o have_v liberty_n &_o peace_n under_o a_o peaceable_a prince_n and_o the_o companion_n of_o peace_n prosperity_n plenty_n health_n wealth_n corn_n wool_n gold_n silver_n abundance_n of_o all_o thing_n that_o may_v please_v the_o heart_n of_o man_n thus_o have_v god_n be_v with_o more_o and_o great_a sin_n than_o ever_o israel_n do_v so_o that_o if_o moses_n speak_v true_a of_o they_o then_o may_v our_o moses_n much_o more_o true_o cry_v out_o against_o england_n vengeance_n and_o before_o the_o face_n of_o god_n angel_n who_o bewail_v it_o and_o before_o the_o face_n of_o the_o devil_n who_o rejoice_v in_o our_o confusion_n and_o shall_v they_o lie_v hide_v only_o to_o ourselves_o now_o then_o if_o we_o will_v have_v they_o hide_v from_o god_n and_o stop_v the_o cry_n that_o they_o make_v against_o we_o and_o keep_v they_o from_o satan_n who_o accuse_v point_n in_o this_o exhortation_n be_v the_o time_n limit_v they_o when_o they_o shall_v search_v before_o the_o decree_n come_v forth_o etc._n etc._n as_o though_o the_o prophet_n shall_v say_v israel_n repent_v before_o god_n execute_v his_o judgement_n on_o thou_o for_o behold_v the_o gracious_a deal_n of_o god_n man_n sin_v his_o sin_n deserve_v plague_n but_o god_n present_o plague_v difficulty_n with_o pain_n and_o sorrow_n so_o the_o lord_n long_o conceive_v but_o at_o last_o bring_v forth_o his_o judgement_n yet_o it_o be_v with_o grief_n and_o unwillingness_n and_o he_o be_v loath_a as_o it_o be_v and_o much_o aggrieve_v to_o execute_v his_o most_o just_a judgement_n on_o those_o who_o have_v profess_v his_o name_n he_o often_o touch_v the_o jew_n a_o little_a and_o as_o be_v unwilling_a to_o smite_v they_o he_o draw_v back_o his_o hand_n again_o but_o at_o last_o when_o their_o sin_n do_v so_o increase_v and_o be_v so_o strong_a that_o they_o even_o do_v wring_v till_o this_o hour_n so_o that_o to_o this_o day_n when_o the_o old_a testament_n be_v read_v the_o veil_n be_v over_o their_o eye_n that_o they_o can_v see_v the_o light_n of_o christ_n jesus_n but_o minister_n let_v this_o suffice_v they_o they_o be_v the_o man_n that_o must_v declare_v unto_o man_n his_o righteousness_n even_o he_o that_o scorn_v and_o contemn_v the_o ministry_n he_o have_v no_o righteousness_n in_o he_o unless_o it_o be_v by_o the_o mean_n of_o a_o poor_a minister_n then_o do_v thou_o thy_o duty_n and_o be_v that_o mock_n thou_o have_v cause_n to_o honour_v thou_o and_o let_v this_o encourage_v student_n to_o consecrate_v themselves_o student_n to_o the_o ministry_n for_o what_o calling_n have_v so_o high_a a_o office_n as_o this_o to_o declare_v unto_o man_n his_o righteousness_n and_o assure_o how_o ever_o call_n in_o this_o wicked_a world_n thou_o be_v little_o account_v of_o for_o if_o it_o do_v not_o so_o it_o be_v not_o wicked_a yet_o thou_o be_v honour_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o all_o god_n child_n and_o even_o in_o the_o conscience_n of_o some_o who_o tongue_n do_v smite_v thou_o and_o the_o soul_n of_o thousand_o when_o they_o die_v shall_v bless_v thou_o who_o in_o their_o life_n care_v not_o for_o thou_o and_o the_o devil_n himself_o do_v envy_v &_o the_o holy_a angel_n themselves_o do_v wonder_n at_o the_o excellency_n of_o thy_o call_n in_o swallow_v the_o bitter_a pill_n of_o the_o law_n if_o therefore_o thou_o will_v be_v declare_v righteous_a by_o the_o gospel_n be_v content_a first_o to_o be_v pronounce_v miserable_a by_o the_o law_n if_o thou_o will_v be_v declare_v righteous_a in_o christ_n then_o be_v content_a first_o to_o be_v pronounce_v sinful_a minister_n and_o unrighteous_a in_o thyself_o second_o all_o man_n may_v here_o learn_v how_o they_o be_v to_o esteem_v of_o god_n minister_n and_o what_o reverence_n and_o obedience_n be_v due_a to_o their_o person_n and_o their_o doctrine_n these_o be_v they_o which_o must_v declare_v unto_o thou_o thy_o righteousness_n if_o thou_o have_v any_o be_v thou_o behold_v to_o he_o who_o when_o thou_o have_v lose_v a_o jewel_n which_o be_v all_o thy_o wealth_n can_v tell_v thou_o where_o it_o be_v and_o help_v thou_o to_o it_o again_o or_o to_o he_o who_o when_o thy_o cause_n be_v in_o trial_n at_o the_o bar_n will_v plead_v it_o for_o thou_o or_o to_o he_o who_o when_o devil_n himself_o shall_v not_o be_v able_a to_o answer_v and_o who_o when_o thy_o soul_n be_v sick_a to_o death_n and_o even_o to_o damnation_n can_v heal_v the_o deadly_a wound_n thereof_o a_o good_a minister_n therefore_o be_v worthy_a as_o the_o apostle_n say_v of_o double_a honour_n who_o duty_n we_o see_v be_v to_o declare_v unto_o man_n his_o righteousness_n and_o to_o conclude_v this_o point_n also_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o height_n of_o this_o office_n of_o a_o minister_n may_v encourage_v father_n to_o dedicate_v their_o son_n to_o this_o holy_a minister_n call_n for_o the_o physician_n care_v for_o the_o body_n or_o the_o lawyer_n for_o thy_o cause_n be_v both_o inferior_a duty_n to_o this_o of_o the_o mininister_n a_o good_a lawyer_n may_v be_v one_o of_o ten_o a_o good_a physician_n one_o of_o 20._o a_o good_a man_n one_o of_o 100_o but_o a_o good_a minister_n be_v one_o of_o 1000_o a_o good_a lawyer_n may_v declare_v the_o true_a state_n of_o thy_o cause_n a_o good_a physician_n may_v declare_v the_o true_a state_n of_o thy_o body_n no_o calling_n no_o man_n can_v declare_v unto_o thou_o thy_o righteousness_n but_o a_o true_a minister_n and_o thus_o we_o see_v the_o office_n or_o function_n of_o a_o minister_n now_o follow_v the_o blessing_n then_o will_v he_o have_v mercy_n upon_o he_o the_o four_o general_a part_n of_o this_o description_n sinner_n be_v the_o blessing_n which_o god_n give_v to_o the_o labour_n and_o function_n of_o a_o true_a minister_n then_o that_o be_v when_o a_o man_n by_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o law_n be_v bring_v to_o true_a humiliation_n and_o repentance_n and_o by_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o true_a faith_n in_o the_o messiah_n then_o will_v he_o that_o be_v god_n have_v mercy_n on_o he_o that_o be_v on_o the_o penitent_a and_o believe_a sinner_n behold_v here_o the_o admirable_a sympathy_n and_o the_o cooperation_n of_o god_n and_o the_o minister_n office_n man_n preach_v and_o god_n bless_v man_n work_v on_o the_o heart_n and_o god_n give_v grace_n a_o minister_n declare_v unto_o man_n his_o righteousness_n and_o god_n say_v so_o be_v it_o he_o shall_v be_v righteous_a a_o minister_n pronounce_v mercy_n to_o a_o penitent_a sinner_n and_o forthwith_o god_n have_v mercy_n on_o he_o here_o we_o see_v the_o great_a and_o glorious_a together_o account_n which_o god_n make_v of_o the_o word_n of_o his_o minister_n by_o they_o true_o teach_v and_o right_o apply_v namely_o that_o he_o as_o it_o be_v tie_v his_o blessing_n unto_o it_o for_o ordinary_o till_o a_o man_n know_v his_o righteousness_n by_o the_o mean_n of_o a_o interpreter_n god_n have_v not_o mercy_n on_o he_o but_o as_o soon_o as_o he_o do_v know_v it_o then_o as_o we_o see_v here_o god_n will_v have_v mercy_n on_o he_o and_o will_v say_v deliver_v he_o etc._n etc._n this_o be_v no_o small_a honour_n to_o minister_n and_o to_o their_o ministry_n that_o god_n himself_o give_v a_o blessing_n unto_o it_o &_o work_v when_o they_o work_v and_o as_o it_o be_v stay_v wait_v when_o they_o declare_v unto_o a_o man_n his_o righteousness_n and_o then_o have_v he_o mercy_n on_o he_o so_o powerful_a and_o so_o effectual_a be_v the_o word_n speak_v by_o a_o minister_n of_o god_n this_o be_v that_o 16._o which_o christ_n avouch_v whatsoever_o you_o lose_v in_o earth_n shall_v be_v loose_v in_o heaven_n will_v 23._o you_o know_v the_o meaning_n hereof_o read_v saint_n john_n who_o sin_n soever_o you_o remit_v they_o be_v remit_v who_o you_o retain_v they_o be_v 26._o retain_v justice_n as_o due_a unto_o he_o for_o the_o same_o here_o he_o bind_v on_o earth_n here_o he_o retain_v on_o earth_n this_o man_n sin_n be_v likewise_o bind_v &_o retain_v in_o heaven_n on_o the_o other_o side_n he_o see_v a_o man_n penitent_a &_o believe_v he_o pronounce_v forgiveness_n of_o sin_n &_o happiness_n unto_o he_o for_o the_o same_o he_o lose_v he_o from_o the_o band_n of_o his_o apply_v their_o doctrine_n to_o their_o audience_n in_o such_o manner_n as_o the_o circumstance_n of_o place_n time_n or_o person_n do_v require_v some_o minister_n come_v to_o a_o ignorant_a and_o unhumbled_a people_n and_o teach_v they_o the_o gospel_n which_o never_o know_v the_o law_n here_o the_o fiery_a coal_n be_v use_v but_o the_o lip_n be_v not_o touch_v that_o be_v good_a doctrine_n teach_v but_o not_o well_o apply_v for_o that_o the_o law_n shall_v first_o be_v lay_v to_o their_o conscience_n other_o beat_v all_o upon_o the_o law_n when_o it_o may_v be_v their_o hearer_n be_v a_o people_n sufficient_o cast_v down_o and_o have_v more_o need_n to_o be_v raise_v up_o with_o the_o sweet_a comfort_n of_o the_o gospel_n other_o use_v to_o lay_v open_a the_o nakedness_n of_o the_o court_n in_o the_o country_n and_o to_o reprove_v the_o fault_n of_o prince_n and_o great_a magistrate_n before_o the_o common_a people_n who_o have_v more_o need_n of_o the_o catechism_n other_o bring_v the_o catechism_n or_o point_n of_o ordinary_a instruction_n into_o the_o court_n where_o the_o duty_n of_o king_n and_o councillor_n shall_v be_v teach_v in_o all_o plainness_n and_o sincerity_n other_o bring_v their_o new_a opinion_n or_o controversall_a point_n unto_o popular_a audience_n which_o indeed_o be_v fit_a for_o the_o school_n other_o busy_a themselves_o about_o thou_o shall_v not_o die_v so_o when_o this_o prophet_n be_v prophet_n extreme_o affright_v at_o god_n presence_n because_o of_o some_o sin_n and_o negligence_n in_o his_o call_n it_o have_v be_v no_o comfort_n to_o his_o poor_a soul_n to_o have_v be_v tell_v thou_o shall_v have_v a_o more_o eloquent_a tongue_n and_o a_o more_o powerful_a speech_n thou_o shall_v have_v better_a access_n to_o the_o court_n &_o audience_n before_o the_o king_n all_o these_o and_o all_o such_o like_a will_v have_v be_v no_o better_a than_o guide_v poison_n unto_o he_o be_v in_o this_o case_n but_o the_o happy_a answer_n that_o refresh_v his_o weary_a soul_n more_o than_o all_o the_o world_n be_v this_o loe_o thy_o iniquity_n be_v forgive_v and_o thy_o sin_n purge_v all_o faithful_a minister_n must_v here_o conscience_n learn_v the_o true_a way_n of_o comfort_v trouble_v and_o distress_a conscience_n namely_o first_o to_o draw_v he_o unto_o a_o sight_n of_o some_o particular_a sin_n then_o to_o summon_v he_o into_o god_n presence_n and_o there_o to_o arraign_v he_o for_o those_o sin_n until_o the_o view_n of_o the_o foulness_n of_o his_o sin_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n justice_n have_v sufficient_o humble_v he_o and_o then_o to_o labour_v to_o persuade_v his_o conscience_n upon_o good_a ground_n of_o the_o pardon_n of_o those_o sin_n by_o christ_n jesus_n this_o be_v the_o way_n that_o god_n use_v and_o devise_v this_o be_v the_o sure_a way_n that_o can_v fail_v some_o think_v that_o all_o trouble_n of_o mind_n be_v nothing_o but_o melancholy_a and_o therefore_o psalm_n think_v nothing_o needs_o but_o physic_n and_o outward_a comfort_n but_o he_o that_o consider_v in_o what_o case_n the_o prophet_n here_o be_v or_o david_n when_o he_o make_v the_o 6._o the_o 32._o or_o the_o 51._o psalm_n will_v be_v of_o another_o mind_n and_o will_v find_v that_o nothing_o can_v proper_o trouble_v the_o mind_n but_o sin_n therefore_o as_o the_o wise_a physician_n in_o his_o cure_n first_o search_v out_o the_o cause_n and_o then_o endeavour_n to_o take_v it_o away_o so_o the_o good_a physician_n of_o the_o soul_n must_v first_o of_o all_o search_n into_o the_o cause_n of_o his_o sickness_n that_o be_v his_o sin_n and_o must_v take_v they_o away_o which_o if_o they_o do_v not_o than_o all_o their_o labour_n be_v lose_v for_o all_o the_o company_n music_n recreation_n wine_n diet_n nay_o all_o worldly_a comfort_n &_o delight_n if_o it_o be_v the_o advancement_n to_o a_o kingdom_n can_v so_o much_o comfort_v the_o distress_a soul_n of_o a_o sinner_n as_o this_o voice_n of_o a_o minister_n speak_v from_o god_n upon_o good_a ground_n thy_o sin_n be_v forgive_v thou_o now_o to_o lay_v down_o what_o be_v those_o true_a and_o good_a ground_n whereupon_o a_o minister_n may_v conscience_n safe_o and_o comfortable_o pronounce_v pardon_n of_o sin_n to_o a_o sinner_n belong_v proper_o to_o another_o place_n in_o the_o next_o place_n let_v we_o here_o observe_v repent_v how_o the_o lord_n afore_o he_o renew_v the_o prophet_n commission_n or_o send_v he_o to_o preach_v to_o the_o people_n first_o humble_v he_o for_o his_o sin_n and_o then_o upon_o his_o repentance_n give_v he_o pardon_v teach_v we_o that_o no_o minister_n be_v well_o qualify_v to_o the_o holy_a duty_n of_o the_o ministry_n unless_o he_o have_v true_o repent_v of_o his_o sin_n and_o have_v obtain_v pardon_n and_o mercy_n in_o the_o messiah_n minister_n labour_n for_o qualification_n but_o the_o true_a minister_n of_o god_n will_v labour_v for_o this_o qualification_n above_o all_o other_o for_o doubtless_o he_o shall_v pronounce_v most_o powerful_o the_o pardon_n of_o sin_n to_o other_o to_o who_o conscience_n god_n have_v pronounce_v pardon_n of_o his_o own_o in_o the_o last_o place_n let_v we_o observe_v how_o the_o prophet_n be_v to_o be_v comfort_v before_o they_o he_o go_v this_o new_a embassage_n the_o lord_n be_v so_o careful_a for_o he_o that_o rather_o than_o he_o be_v not_o comfort_v if_o there_o be_v no_o man_n to_o do_v it_o a_o angel_n shall_v be_v send_v to_o be_v his_o comforter_n &_o if_o there_o be_v not_o another_o prophet_n to_o
