also_o especial_o in_o god_n great_a bountifulness_n and_o mercy_n in_o call_v we_o in_o give_v we_o repentance_n mollify_a our_o hard_a heart_n by_o his_o heavenly_a grace_n and_o by_o his_o word_n instruct_v we_o daily_o in_o the_o course_n of_o godliness_n and_o especial_o by_o his_o powerful_a work_n in_o we_o frame_v we_o there-unto_a and_o enable_v we_o to_o perform_v what_o soever_o be_v provide_v but_o bad_o in_o their_o own_o behalf_n because_o they_o shall_v find_v the_o like_a measure_n at_o god_n hand_n this_o similitude_n stand_v in_o three_o comparison_n that_o be_v the_o master_n be_v compare_v to_o the_o servant_n a_o great_a sum_n to_o a_o small_a debt_n and_o god_n wonderful_a and_o unspeakable_a mercy_n to_o our_o extreme_a cruelty_n all_o which_o declare_v that_o we_o far_o more_o grievous_o offend_v god_n than_o any_o brother_n or_o enemy_n or_o mortal_a man_n can_v offend_v us._n the_o servant_n therefore_o fall_v down_o etc._n the_o servant_n etc._n etc._n the_o order_n and_o manner_n of_o free_a justification_n namely_o that_o god_n do_v free_o forgive_v we_o our_o sin_n and_o justify_v we_o that_o be_v he_o repute_v we_o as_o just_a and_o do_v discharge_v we_o from_o the_o guilt_n of_o sin_n for_o his_o son_n sake_n and_o do_v impute_v unto_o we_o the_o righteousness_n merrite_n and_o desert_n of_o his_o son_n as_o though_o we_o have_v perfect_o in_o our_o person_n fulfil_v the_o law_n of_o god_n concern_v forgiveness_n it_o be_v either_o ecclesiastical_a or_o civil_a ecclesiastical_a when_o in_o the_o public_a congregation_n by_o the_o comfortable_a tiding_n of_o the_o gospel_n either_o private_o or_o general_o we_o receive_v the_o comfort_n of_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n or_o when_o upon_o the_o peculiar_a and_o particular_a confession_n of_o some_o one_o or_o more_o with_o public_a prayer_n the_o minister_n pronounce_v pardon_n civil_a forgiveness_n be_v when_o among_o ourselves_o we_o forgive_v one_o another_o not_o bear_v hatred_n in_o our_o heart_n for_o wrong_n commit_v nor_o yet_o thirst_v after_o revenge_n some_o will_v say_v we_o must_v forgive_v one_o another_o therefore_o we_o must_v not_o defend_v our_o self_n nor_o seek_v redress_n but_o there_o be_v a_o difference_n betwixt_o a_o lawful_a defence_n and_o private_a revenge_n &_o god_n have_v appoint_v the_o magistrate_n to_o do_v right_a and_o equity_n after_o which_o sort_n a_o christian_a may_v defend_v himself_o as_o paul_n do_v appeal_n unto_o caesar_n acts._n 15._o but_o private_a revenge_n which_o be_v a_o desire_n to_o hurt_v proceed_v from_o a_o wrathful_a mind_n be_v here_o forbid_a as_o it_o be_v write_v rom._n 12._o vengeance_n be_v i_o i_o will_v repay_v say_v the_o lord_n and_o suit_n of_o law_n in_o matter_n of_o extremity_n as_o that_o must_v be_v the_o last_o refuge_n when_o nothing_o else_o will_v prevail_v these_o suit_n of_o law_n i_o say_v with_o a_o godly_a mind_n may_v be_v follow_v with_o charity_n always_o reserve_v ourselves_o to_o equity_n &_o to_o neighbourhood_n not_o care_v to_o sit_v down_o by_o a_o little_a loss_n so_o that_o we_o may_v recover_v our_o own_o in_o any_o good_a and_o indifferent_a sort_n but_o here_o it_o be_v necessary_a to_o be_v speak_v to_o prevent_v a_o objection_n that_o see_v his_o master_n will_v he_o to_o be_v sell_v his_o wife_n and_o child_n and_o all_o that_o he_o have_v &_o payment_n to_o be_v make_v that_o some_o gather_v here-hence_o that_o satisfaction_n may_v be_v make_v for_o our_o sin_n by_o our_o part_n and_o through_o our_o endeavour_n but_o the_o prophet_n esay_n in_o his_o 53._o chapter_n declare_v otherwise_o therefore_o all_o of_o we_o be_v debtor_n in_o this_o case_n be_v enforce_v to_o fly_v unto_o god_n mercy_n and_o to_o crave_v the_o release_n of_o this_o our_o great_a debt_n which_o we_o can_v never_o satisfy_v neither_o do_v god_n always_o show_v his_o severity_n at_o the_o beginning_n that_o we_o be_v compel_v shall_v seek_v for_o release_v yea_o rather_o by_o his_o free_a mercy_n offer_v unto_o we_o he_o do_v prevent_v we_o in_o this_o case_n but_o only_o in_o this_o parable_n be_v declare_v that_o if_o god_n shall_v deal_v with_o we_o in_o extremetie_n what_o shall_v become_v of_o us._n as_o also_o if_o he_o shall_v exact_o require_v of_o we_o that_o which_o we_o be_v indebt_v unto_o he_o how_o needful_a it_o be_v for_o we_o to_o fall_v down_o upon_o our_o knee_n and_o to_o sue_v for_o favour_n for_o this_o be_v the_o only_a hope_n of_o help_n that_o sinner_n have_v therefore_o the_o prophet_n david_n be_v oppress_v with_o the_o great_a weight_n and_o burden_n of_o his_o sin_n cry_v out_o psalm_n 143._o enter_v not_o into_o judgement_n with_o thy_o servant_n o_o lord_n for_o in_o benefit_n be_v so_o fresh_a in_o his_o remembrance_n that_o his_o hart_n can_v be_v so_o cruel_a towards_o his_o fellow_n servant_n for_o sure_o if_o any_o of_o we_o all_o can_v remember_v god_n great_a mercy_n towards_o ourselves_o and_o how_o deep_o we_o be_v indebt_v to_o god_n we_o shall_v never_o find_v in_o our_o hartâ—_n
