contrariwise_o when_o we_o be_v not_o inward_o persuade_v of_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n ourselves_o our_o speech_n of_o they_o come_v forcible_o and_o spare_o and_o true_o my_o brethren_n this_o be_v the_o reason_n we_o be_v so_o little_a in_o praise_v the_o lord_n because_o ourselves_o be_v not_o touch_v with_o a_o sense_n of_o his_o mercy_n we_o be_v not_o persuade_v he_o be_v so_o exceed_v merciful_a as_o he_o be_v we_o think_v better_o of_o man_n than_o we_o do_v of_o he_o therefore_o if_o any_o thing_n grieve_v we_o we_o be_v ready_a to_o complain_v unto_o man_n then_o unto_o god_n and_o for_o matter_n of_o mercy_n we_o be_v exceed_v in_o praise_v of_o those_o man_n that_o be_v merciful_a to_o we_o but_o we_o be_v not_o persuade_v of_o the_o exceed_a mercifulness_n of_o god_n riches_n of_o mercy_n that_o be_v in_o god_n because_o you_o may_v object_v be_v god_n so_o merciful_a what_o be_v the_o reason_n then_o that_o he_o do_v so_o sharp_o afflict_v even_o his_o dear_a child_n why_o do_v he_o afflict_v evil_a man_n with_o such_o a_o great_a affliction_n as_o hell_n iâ—_n self_n why_o be_v so_o many_o damn_a and_o why_o do_v so_o many_o perish_v while_o it_o be_v give_v glory_n to_o god_n first_o by_o his_o believe_v he_o to_o be_v such_o a_o god_n as_o he_o profess_v himself_o to_o be_v and_o so_o that_o which_o make_v he_o evident_a to_o all_o the_o world_n to_o be_v a_o god_n most_o merciful_a be_v the_o receive_n of_o christ_n by_o faith_n further_n in_o this_o do_v the_o true_a worship_n of_o god_n principal_o consist_v now_o god_n delight_v in_o his_o worship_n and_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n consist_v not_o only_o in_o the_o bow_n of_o the_o knee_n but_o it_o main_o consist_v in_o the_o inward_a persuasion_n of_o the_o heart_n when_o a_o man_n be_v persuade_v that_o god_n be_v a_o most_o holy_a a_o most_o wise_a just_a and_o merciful_a god_n and_o out_o of_o this_o he_o worship_v and_o obey_v he_o and_o this_o be_v a_o act_n of_o faith_n remember_v therefore_o that_o faith_n be_v that_o which_o god_n do_v principal_o câ—ll_a for_o and_o therefore_o faith_n go_v far_o before_o work_n in_o as_o much_o as_o without_o faith_n it_o be_v impossible_a to_o please_v god_n let_v we_o therefore_o be_v exhort_v to_o labour_v to_o believe_v see_v it_o be_v a_o thinâ—s_n so_o acceptable_a to_o god_n and_o that_o this_o exhortation_n be_v not_o in_o vain_a it_o be_v needful_a for_o man_n to_o know_v whether_o they_o believe_v or_o no_o to_o this_o end_n therefore_o i_o will_v give_v you_o two_o or_o three_o sign_n of_o faith_n first_o if_o you_o will_v know_v whether_o you_o true_o believe_v whether_o you_o be_v within_o the_o number_n of_o those_o that_o be_v within_o the_o compass_n of_o regeneration_n consider_v whether_o you_o be_v sound_o humble_v for_o that_o be_v a_o preparation_n that_o go_v before_o faith_n and_o without_o which_o no_o man_n be_v make_v ever_o partaker_n of_o christ_n for_o the_o direction_n of_o christ_n be_v make_v to_o those_o that_o mourn_v in_o zion_n not_o that_o it_o be_v simple_o necessary_a to_o salvation_n but_o because_o without_o this_o no_o man_n come_v to_o christ_n i_o deny_v not_o but_o god_n be_v able_a to_o send_v lightning_n without_o thunder_n he_o may_v have_v preach_v the_o gospel_n to_o adam_n without_o the_o law_n but_o his_o will_n be_v not_o so_o he_o first_o convince_v adam_n
