shall_v always_o be_v above_o and_o prevail_v against_o the_o bitter_a taste_n of_o sin_n nay_o further_o let_v i_o tell_v you_o there_o be_v nothing_o else_o can_v sweeten_v your_o affliction_n the_o lord_n he_o be_v ready_a to_o forgive_v it_o may_v be_v at_o last_o a_o man_n may_v be_v draw_v off_o to_o forgive_v a_o man_n when_o friend_n have_v deal_v with_o he_o when_o he_o have_v be_v urge_v it_o on_o his_o own_o heart_n to_o be_v his_o duty_n when_o he_o have_v take_v pain_n with_o his_o own_o soul_n and_o bring_v the_o word_n home_o to_o his_o soul_n and_o have_v smart_v for_o second_o the_o freeness_n of_o the_o lord_n forgiveness_n appear_v thus_o in_o that_o he_o be_v not_o only_o ready_a to_o forgive_v but_o he_o forgive_v at_o the_o desire_n of_o the_o poor_a creature_n no_o soon_o do_v a_o poor_a creature_n express_v his_o desire_n but_o the_o lord_n be_v ready_a to_o express_v his_o willingness_n set_v forth_o in_o the_o parable_n of_o the_o wicked_a servant_n in_o mat._n 18._o 32._o i_o forgive_v thou_o because_o thou_o desire_v i_o not_o that_o this_o his_o desire_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o forgiveness_n but_o it_o express_v the_o readiness_n and_o god_n have_v desire_v he_o and_o christ_n have_v desire_v he_o yet_o how_o hardly_o be_v they_o bring_v off_o to_o this_o work_n 3._o again_o three_o the_o lord_n forgive_v free_o it_o appear_v thus_o he_o do_v forgive_v upon_o the_o confession_n of_o his_o people_n he_o be_v ready_a to_o manifest_v his_o pardon_v and_o forgive_a love_n 1_o joh._n 1._o 9_o if_o we_o confess_v our_o sin_n the_o work_n of_o grace_n to_o bring_v off_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n to_o forgive_v present_o true_o in_o this_o we_o come_v far_o short_a of_o god_n and_o the_o way_n and_o thought_n of_o god_n 5._o five_o nay_o further_o the_o freeness_n of_o god_n in_o forgive_a a_o poor_a sinner_n appear_v in_o this_o he_o do_v prevent_v poor_a sinful_a creature_n with_o pardon_v mercy_n even_o before_o they_o do_v desire_n he_o prevent_v their_o desire_n their_o supplication_n for_o mercy_n he_o bring_v in_o a_o pardon_n to_o a_o poor_a soul_n before_o it_o have_v make_v any_o real_a acknowledgement_n of_o its_o offence_n i_o say_v i_o will_v confess_v my_o sin_n unto_o the_o lord_n psal_n 32._o 5._o and_o thou_o forgave_v i_o the_o iniquity_n of_o my_o sin_n david_n do_v but_o say_v it_o in_o his_o heart_n he_o have_v but_o such_o a_o thought_n such_o a_o purpose_n in_o his_o soul_n well_o i_o will_v return_v unto_o the_o lord_n and_o i_o will_v confess_v and_o before_o david_n can_v do_v it_o the_o lord_n he_o prevent_v he_o he_o prevent_v he_o with_o mercy_n and_o so_o another_o instance_n you_o have_v of_o the_o prodigal_n in_o luk._n 15._o he_o say_v he_o will_v go_v to_o his_o father_n and_o make_v his_o confession_n at_o the_o 18_o verse_n i_o will_v arise_v and_o
go_v to_o my_o father_n and_o say_v father_n i_o have_v sin_v against_o heaven_n and_o before_o thou_o etc._n etc._n and_o then_o at_o the_o 20_o verse_n it_o be_v say_v he_o arise_v and_o come_v to_o his_o father_n but_o when_o he_o be_v yet_o a_o great_a way_n off_o his_o father_n see_v he_o and_o have_v compassion_n and_o run_v and_o fall_v on_o his_o neck_n and_o kiss_v he_o mark_v how_o the_o compassion_n of_o the_o father_n do_v prevent_v the_o confession_n of_o the_o son_n i_o will_v go_v to_o my_o father_n and_o say_v father_n i_o have_v sin_v so_o and_o so_o but_o before_o he_o can_v utter_v one_o word_n the_o father_n fall_v upon_o his_o neck_n and_o kiss_v he_o and_o forgive_v his_o many_o and_o great_a transgression_n and_o then_o indeed_o afterward_o he_o do_v make_v a_o rather_o warrant_v so_o to_o do_v if_o my_o brother_n confess_v and_o acknowledge_v his_o offence_n than_o it_o may_v be_v we_o think_v it_o our_o duty_n to_o forgive_v though_o hardly_o to_o bring_v off_o our_o heart_n to_o that_o but_o where_o there_o be_v no_o confession_n and_o acknowledgement_n where_o be_v the_o man_n like_o the_o prodigal_n father_n to_o run_v and_o meet_v his_o son_n and_o seal_v up_o forgiveness_n before_o confession_n or_o a_o acknowledgement_n this_o show_v that_o the_o way_n of_o the_o lord_n in_o matter_n of_o forgiveness_n be_v far_o above_o man_n the_o lord_n forgive_v enemy_n and_o the_o lord_n forgive_v free_o but_o 3._o three_o the_o lord_n way_n be_v above_o we_o it_o appear_v in_o that_o the_o lord_n forgive_v full_o he_o do_v not_o only_o forgive_v free_o those_o who_o he_o do_v forgive_v but_o the_o lord_n forgive_v poor_a sinner_n full_o i_o shall_v make_v it_o out_o in_o these_o particular_n as_o 1._o first_o the_o lord_n he_o do_v forgive_v all_o the_o debt_n when_o god_n do_v forgive_v a_o soul_n he_o do_v forgive_v all_o offence_n all_o transgression_n and_o sin_n whatsoever_o i_o forgive_v thou_o all_o the_o debt_n he_o do_v not_o forgive_v one_o sin_n to_o the_o soul_n and_o leave_v the_o other_o to_o reckon_v with_o he_o for_o and_o to_o condemn_v he_o for_o but_o where_o the_o lord_n forgive_v one_o he_o forgive_v all_o can_v find_v in_o his_o heart_n to_o forgive_v some_o wrong_n but_o to_o forgive_v all_o the_o wrong_n that_o a_o man_n have_v do_v this_o be_v a_o hard_a work_n how_o hardly_o be_v the_o heart_n of_o man_n bring_v off_o to_o this_o work_n 2._o second_o nay_o again_o the_o fullness_n of_o god_n forgive_a mercy_n it_o appear_v in_o this_o he_o do_v not_o only_o forgive_v all_o the_o offence_n where_o the_o offence_n be_v few_o but_o he_o forgive_v they_o all_o where_o they_o be_v many_o if_o the_o soul_n be_v bring_v home_o to_o christ_n the_o great_a mediator_n the_o great_a sacrifice_n the_o lord_n forgive_v for_o all_o sin_n though_o never_o so_o many_o luk._n 7._o 47._o she_o love_v much_o because_o much_o be_v forgive_v she_o though_o her_o sin_n be_v very_o many_o yet_o they_o they_o be_v great_a and_o herein_o i_o say_v be_v the_o greatness_n of_o the_o grace_n and_o of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n towards_o poor_a sinner_n that_o although_o offence_n be_v never_o so_o great_a he_o pardon_v and_o forgive_v they_o all_o though_o your_o sin_n be_v as_o scarlet_a yet_o they_o shall_v be_v make_v as_o white_a as_o snow_n isa_n 1._o 18._o this_o be_v it_o that_o aggravate_v the_o offence_n of_o his_o people_n in_o isa_n 43._o 24._o thou_o have_v make_v i_o to_o serve_v with_o thy_o sin_n thou_o have_v weary_v i_o with_o thy_o inquity_n yet_o this_o follow_v never_o be_v any_o wrong_v as_o i_o be_o by_o such_o a_o one_o and_o such_o a_o friend_n oh_o how_o hard_o a_o matter_n than_o be_v it_o to_o imitate_v god_n in_o forgive_a such_o great_a wrong_n 4._o four_o but_o again_o further_o the_o fullness_n of_o god_n forgive_a mercy_n appear_v in_o this_o he_o so_o forgive_v his_o people_n as_o he_o retain_v no_o grudge_n in_o his_o heart_n against_o his_o people_n nothing_o but_o clearness_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o god_n towards_o his_o people_n joseph_n be_v one_o that_o forgive_v his_o brethren_n so_o free_o as_o he_o never_o retain_v any_o grudge_n he_o take_v off_o their_o aggravation_n it_o be_v not_o you_o but_o god_n that_o send_v i_o hither_o therefore_o be_v not_o offend_v joseph_n herein_o be_v a_o type_n of_o christ_n he_o forgive_v there_o not_o still_o some_o old_a grudge_n at_o the_o bottom_n that_o be_v ready_a to_o break_v out_o upon_o all_o occasion_n how_o short_a do_v we_o come_v of_o god_n in_o this_o respect_n nay_o 5._o five_o further_n the_o fullness_n of_o god_n forgiveness_n do_v appear_v in_o this_o that_o he_o do_v not_o bear_v any_o grudge_n he_o will_v not_o only_o not_o upbraid_v but_o he_o do_v be_v such_o a_o unreadiness_n in_o the_o spirit_n of_o most_o man_n if_o not_o in_o all_o man_n to_o come_v up_o to_o this_o duty_n a_o gospel_n duty_n a_o hard_a duty_n and_o oh_o what_o unreadiness_n be_v there_o in_o man_n spirit_n to_o come_v up_o unto_o the_o practice_n of_o it_o oh_o how_o many_o be_v there_o in_o the_o world_n that_o do_v not_o only_o come_v short_a of_o walk_v up_o unto_o this_o rule_n but_o do_v walk_v quite_o contrary_a unto_o it_o and_o i_o shall_v show_v you_o who_o they_o be_v and_o oh_o that_o god_n will_v speak_v convince_o unto_o man_n heart_n 1._o first_o they_o walk_v contrary_a unto_o this_o rule_n of_o christ_n who_o be_v easy_o provoke_v unto_o wrath_n who_o be_v soon_o displease_v who_o be_v soon_o put_v out_o of_o the_o way_n take_v up_o every_o small_a wrong_n every_o petty_a offence_n nay_o be_v many_o time_n provoke_v unto_o wrath_n upon_o a_o conceit_a injury_n for_o a_o poor_a trivial_a business_n that_o will_v make_v a_o man_n a_o offender_n for_o a_o word_n nay_o it_o may_v be_v displease_v for_o want_n of_o a_o look_n or_o for_o want_n of_o a_o compliment_n oh_o how_o contrary_a be_v this_o unto_o the_o rule_n of_o christ_n oh_o how_o far_o be_v such_o spirit_n from_o that_o forbearance_n and_o that_o long-suffering_a that_o the_o gospel_n call_v unto_o where_o be_v the_o grace_n of_o long-suffering_a nay_o such_o spirit_n they_o be_v far_o from_o the_o exercise_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o love_n love_n believe_v all_o thing_n and_o hope_v all_o thing_n make_v the_o best_a interpretation_n of_o all_o over_o all_o and_o that_o he_o have_v teach_v they_o this_o lesson_n to_o forget_v and_o to_o forgive_v but_o let_v i_o say_v again_o of_o such_o whilst_o passion_n so_o reign_v they_o give_v entertainment_n unto_o satan_n that_o foul_a and_o unclean_a spirit_n when_o ever_o anger_n and_o wrath_n lodge_v in_o any_o man_n heart_n the_o devil_n lodge_v there_o too_o see_v it_o in_o ephes_n 4._o 26_o 27._o be_v angry_a and_o sin_n not_o let_v not_o the_o sun_n go_v down_o in_o your_o wrath_n neither_o give_v place_n to_o the_o devil_n that_o man_n that_o let_v anger_n lodge_v in_o his_o bosom_n all_o night_n give_v entertainment_n that_o night_n to_o the_o devil_n there_o be_v many_o a_o man_n and_o many_o a_o woman_n in_o the_o world_n in_o word_n will_v bid_v defiance_n to_o the_o
