vengeance_n it_o signify_v also_o to_o restore_v a_o man_n to_o his_o right_n or_o to_o deliver_v from_o injury_n in_o the_o which_o sense_n also_o the_o latin_n use_v the_o word_n vindicare_fw-la which_o though_o it_o proper_o signyfi_v to_o revenge_n yet_o it_o be_v often_o use_v for_o to_o deliver_v from_o oppression_n or_o wrong_n but_o if_o a_o man_n will_v stand_v upon_o the_o interpretation_n and_o will_v expound_v it_o to_o revenge_n yet_o notwithstanding_o there_o can_v nothing_o be_v gather_v out_o of_o this_o parable_n but_o that_o which_o luke_n have_v put_v down_o in_o the_o first_o verse_n which_o be_v and_o he_o put_v forth_o unto_o they_o a_o parable_n to_o this_o end_n that_o man_n ought_v always_o to_o pray_v and_o not_o to_o be_v weary_a therefore_o we_o not_o be_v defile_v with_o these_o two_o vice_n for_o the_o only_a hope_n of_o the_o godly_a so_o long_o as_o they_o be_v under_o the_o infirmity_n of_o the_o flesh_n be_v the_o only_a sanctuary_n of_o god_n mercy_n in_o the_o which_o they_o repose_v their_o whole_a salvation_n this_o pharisie_n pray_v void_a of_o care_n and_o although_o his_o confession_n seem_v to_o proceed_v from_o humillitye_n because_o he_o confess_v that_o whatsoever_o he_o have_v it_o come_v of_o god_n notwithstanding_o because_o he_o exempt_v himself_o from_o the_o number_n of_o sinner_n he_o be_v just_o reject_v with_o his_o prey_n for_o he_o which_o be_v most_o holy_a aught_o notwithstanding_o to_o acknowledge_v himself_o to_o be_v falty_n in_o many_o thing_n thus_o do_v the_o just_a man_n he_o answer_v that_o he_o deceive_v himself_o with_o a_o outward_a show_n of_o virtue_n as_o though_o the_o inward_a and_o secret_a uncleanness_n of_o the_o heart_n be_v not_o require_v wherefore_o though_o his_o heart_n be_v full_a of_o wicked_a lust_n and_o desire_n yet_o notwithstanding_o because_o he_o judge_v only_o after_o the_o outward_a show_n he_o boast_v of_o his_o innocence_n also_o countenance_n or_o credit_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o world_n yet_o notwithstanding_o he_o obtain_v true_a righteousness_n will_v not_o lift_v up_o his_o eye_n to_o heaven_n c._n the_o meaning_n of_o chryste_n here_o to_o geve_v a_o general_n rule_n as_o though_o it_o be_v needful_a to_o cast_v down_o our_o eye_n towards_o the_o earth_n so_o often_o as_o we_o pray_v but_o have_v only_o give_v we_o here_o sign_n of_o humility_n the_o which_o virtue_n he_o commend_v unto_o his_o disciple_n and_o in_o this_o humility_n consist_v if_o so_o be_v we_o forget_v not_o our_o sin_n but_o in_o condempn_v ourselves_o prevent_v the_o judgement_n of_o god_n and_o do_v also_o confess_v our_o own_o unrighteousness_n that_o we_o may_v be_v reconcile_v unto_o god_n and_o to_o this_o end_n enter_v not_o into_o that_o presence_n of_o god_n to_o excuse_v himself_o neither_o do_v he_o allege_v any_o merit_n or_o satisfaction_n but_o to_o obtain_v favour_n he_o acknowledge_v himself_o themselves_o before_o god_n which_o feel_v their_o sin_n and_o have_v a_o humble_a spirit_n and_o contryte_n heart_n for_o their_o sin_n and_o judge_v themselves_o worthy_a of_o eternal_a death_n this_o be_v not_o feign_v but_o true_a humility_n this_o be_v not_o hypocrisy_n but_o true_a confession_n thus_o the_o publican_n humble_v himself_o which_o acknowledge_v himself_o to_o be_v a_o sinner_n and_o unworthy_a to_o lift_v up_o his_o eye_n to_o heaven_n so_o david_n humble_v himself_o say_v have_v mercy_n on_o i_o o_o lord_n for_o i_o be_o weak_a heale_n i_o o_o lord_n 3._o of_o disease_n but_o only_o that_o christ_n may_v touch_v they_o that_o he_o may_v pray_v for_o they_o and_o lay_v his_o hand_n upon_o they_o may_v bless_v they_o as_o we_o have_v show_v in_o the_o 19_o chapter_n of_o matthew_n verse_n 13._o where_o you_o may_v read_v the_o exposition_n of_o the_o rest_n unto_o the_o 31._o verse_n follow_v 31._o jesus_n take_v unto_o he_o the_o twelve_o and_o and_o shall_v be_v mock_v and_o spyteful_o entreat_v and_o spit_v on_o r._n here_o he_o evident_o show_v that_o all_o the_o prophet_n .44_o rom_n 4_o â—5_n lu._n 24.25_o and_o .44_o and_o the_o whole_a scripture_n of_o the_o old_a testament_n have_v specyal_o respect_n hereunto_o and_o do_v above_o all_o other_o thing_n handle_v this_o argument_n teach_v that_o christ_n must_v be_v deliver_v for_o our_o sin_n and_o rise_v again_o for_o our_o justification_n when_o he_o say_v that_o the_o scripture_n must_v be_v fulfil_v he_o plain_o teach_v his_o disciple_n that_o all_o thing_n shall_v
