receive_v and_o a_o feel_a affection_n of_o heart_n can_v not_o contain_v themselves_o from_o weep_v but_o with_o the_o desire_n both_o of_o soul_n and_o body_n they_o earnest_o long_v after_o thou_o o_o god_n the_o lively_a fountain_n be_v not_o otherwise_o able_a to_o temper_n nor_o satisfy_v their_o hunger_n but_o by_o receive_v thy_o body_n with_o all_o joy_n and_o spiritual_a greediness_n 2_o o_o most_o ardent_a faith_n of_o those_o person_n a_o probable_a argument_n of_o thy_o sacred_a presence_n for_o these_o true_o know_v their_o lord_n in_o the_o break_n of_o bread_n who_o heart_n burn_v so_o within_o they_o while_o thou_o o_o bless_a jesu_n walk_v with_o they_o luk._n 24._o such_o desire_n and_o devotion_n so_o vehement_a love_n and_o fervency_n be_v oftentimes_o far_o off_o from_o i_o be_v merciful_a unto_o i_o good_a jesu_n sweet_a and_o benign_a lord_n and_o grant_v i_o thy_o poor_a needy_a creature_n to_o feel_v sometime_o at_o least_o in_o this_o holy_a sacrament_n a_o little_a cordial_a desire_n of_o thy_o love_n that_o my_o faith_n may_v be_v more_o strengthen_v my_o hope_n in_o thy_o goodness_n increase_v and_o that_o my_o charity_n once_o perfect_o inflame_v after_o the_o taste_n of_o heavenly_a manna_n may_v never_o decay_v 3_o thy_o mercy_n o_o lord_n be_v able_a to_o give_v i_o the_o grace_n i_o desire_v and_o to_o visit_v i_o in_o thy_o bounteous_a clemency_n with_o the_o spirit_n of_o fervour_n when_o it_o shall_v please_v thou_o for_o although_o i_o burn_v not_o with_o so_o great_a desire_n as_o those_o that_o be_v so_o especial_o devote_a unto_o thou_o yet_o notwithstanding_o by_o thy_o grace_n i_o desire_v to_o have_v this_o great_a inflame_a desire_n pray_v and_o crave_v that_o i_o may_v participate_v with_o all_o such_o thy_o fervent_a lover_n and_o be_v number_v among_o they_o in_o their_o holy_a company_n chap._n xv._n that_o the_o grace_n of_o devotion_n be_v obtain_v by_o humility_n and_o denial_n of_o ourselves_o joyful_o to_o keep_v it_o humble_o to_o work_v with_o it_o diligent_o and_o to_o commit_v the_o time_n and_o manner_n of_o this_o heavenly_a visitation_n to_o god_n until_o it_o shall_v be_v his_o pleasure_n to_o come_v thou_o ought_v chief_o to_o humble_v thyself_o when_o thou_o feel_v inward_o little_a or_o no_o devotion_n and_o yet_o not_o to_o be_v too_o much_o deject_a nor_o to_o grieve_v inordinate_o for_o it_o god_n often_o give_v in_o a_o short_a moment_n that_o which_o he_o have_v long_a time_n deny_v he_o give_v sometime_o in_o the_o end_n that_o which_o in_o the_o begin_n of_o prayer_n he_o differ_v to_o grant_v 2_o if_o grace_n shall_v be_v always_o present_o give_v and_o at_o hand_n ever_o with_o a_o wish_n it_o can_v not_o be_v well_o endure_v by_o a_o weak_a man_n therefore_o devotion_n be_v to_o be_v expect_v with_o good_a hope_n and_o humble_a patience_n yet_o impute_v it_o to_o thyself_o and_o thy_o sin_n when_o it_o be_v not_o give_v thou_o or_o when_o it_o be_v secret_o take_v from_o thou_o it_o be_v sometime_o a_o small_a matter_n that_o hinder_v &_o hide_v grace_n from_o we_o if_o it_o be_v to_o be_v call_v small_a and_o not_o rather_o a_o great_a matter_n that_o hinder_v so_o great_a a_o good_a and_o if_o thou_o remove_v this_o be_v it_o great_a or_o small_a and_o perfect_o overcome_v it_o thou_o shall_v have_v thy_o desire_n 3_o for_o present_o as_o soon_o as_o thou_o give_v thyself_o to_o god_n and_o seek_v not_o this_o nor_o that_o for_o thy_o own_o pleasure_n or_o will_n but_o settle_v thyself_o whole_o in_o i_o thou_o shall_v find_v thyself_o unite_v unto_o he_o and_o quiet_a for_o nothing_o will_v taste_v so_o well_o and_o please_v thou_o so_o much_o as_o the_o will_n and_o pleasure_n of_o god_n whosoever_o therefore_o with_o a_o sincere_a heart_n direct_v his_o intention_n to_o god_n &_o purge_v himself_o from_o all_o in_o ordinate_a love_n or_o dislike_v of_o any_o creature_n shall_v be_v most_o fit_a to_o receive_v grace_n and_o worthy_a of_o the_o gift_n of_o devotion_n for_o our_o lord_n bestow_v his_o blessing_n there_o where_o he_o find_v his_o vessel_n empty_a and_o how_o much_o the_o more_o perfect_o one_o forsake_v these_o base_a thing_n and_o die_v to_o himself_o by_o contempt_n of_o himself_o so_o much_o the_o more_o speedy_o grace_n come_v and_o enter_v in_o more_o plentiful_o and_o lift_v up_o the_o heart_n that_o be_v free_a to_o a_o high_a state_n of_o grace_n 4_o then_o shall_v he_o see_v and_o abound_v and_o wonder_v and_o his_o heart_n shall_v be_v enlarge_v because_o the_o hand_n of_o our_o lord_n be_v with_o he_o and_o he_o have_v put_v himself_o whole_o into_o his_o hand_n for_o ever_o esa_n 60._o behold_v so_o shall_v the_o man_n be_v bless_v that_o seek_v almighty_a god_n with_o his_o whole_a heart_n and_o take_v not_o his_o soul_n in_o vain_a this_o man_n deserve_v great_a grace_n of_o divine_a union_n in_o receive_v the_o holy_a eucharist_n for_o that_o he_o
