that_o be_v no_o hindrance_n to_o their_o spiritual_a profit_n and_o edification_n nay_o some_o be_v of_o that_o temper_n that_o they_o like_v other_o man_n contemplation_n better_a than_o their_o own_o partly_o out_o of_o a_o natural_a mistrust_n of_o their_o own_o ability_n partly_o out_o of_o respect_n to_o the_o name_n and_o person_n of_o learned_a and_o pious_a men._n but_o whatever_o meditation_n be_v make_v use_n of_o in_o this_o case_n seriousness_n must_v give_v they_o life_n and_o a_o intent_n to_o quicken_v our_o soul_n and_o inward_a man_n must_v be_v the_o impulsive_a cause_n and_o from_o hence_o the_o thoughtful_a christian_a may_v expect_v very_o bless_a effect_n and_o consequence_n yet_o iii_o when_o i_o urge_v this_o meditate_v on_o christ_n death_n and_o passion_n by_o way_n of_o preparation_n and_o draw_v out_o this_o meditation_n to_o so_o great_a prolixity_n for_o fear_v of_o be_v misunderstand_v i_o must_v add_v these_o follow_a rule_n and_o caution_n 1._o it_o be_v chief_o intend_v for_o such_o as_o have_v time_n and_o leisure_n from_o who_o god_n just_o expect_v more_o than_o of_o those_o who_o be_v force_v to_o employ_v their_o time_n early_o and_o late_o in_o hard_a labour_n for_o a_o livelihood_n not_o but_o that_o the_o way_n to_o bliss_n be_v one_o and_o both_o rich_a and_o poor_a must_v observe_v the_o same_o substantial_a duty_n upon_o which_o the_o future_a reward_n be_v promise_v and_o both_o be_v oblige_v to_o be_v just_o and_o sober_a and_o temperate_a and_o meek_a and_o humble_a and_o kind_a and_o tenderhearted_a and_o lover_n of_o god_n and_o devout_a but_o as_o the_o rich_a have_v more_o time_n and_o leisure_n so_o god_n expect_v they_o shall_v exceed_v the_o other_o in_o goodness_n and_o employ_v that_o time_n which_o the_o other_o be_v force_v to_o bestow_v in_o the_o sweat_n of_o their_o face_n upon_o contemplation_n of_o noble_a object_n whereby_o they_o may_v become_v shine_v and_o burn_a light_n and_o by_o their_o example_n supply_v the_o use_n of_o book_n to_o the_o poor_a sort_n who_o in_o their_o action_n may_v compendious_o view_v their_o own_o duty_n and_o be_v encourage_v to_o follow_v their_o good_a example_n with_o humility_n and_o godly_a fear_n 2._o this_o prolix_a meditation_n may_v lawful_o be_v forbear_v upon_o urgent_a occasion_n when_o a_o person_n either_o be_v to_o receive_v the_o holy_a communion_n on_o his_o sick_a bed_n or_o be_v on_o a_o sudden_a call_v out_o to_o communicate_v with_o a_o person_n who_o be_v sick_a in_o these_o case_n short_a reflection_n and_o ejaculation_n come_v from_o a_o heart_n set_v and_o fix_v upon_o the_o love_n and_o will_n of_o god_n be_v acceptable_a because_o upon_o such_o occasion_n christ_n rule_n hold_v i_o will_v ejaculation_n to_o his_o heavenly_a father_n the_o other_o sometime_o exercise_v themselves_o in_o devotion_n till_o
