understand_v not_o only_o of_o the_o ignorant_a and_o common_a sort_n of_o people_n the_o laity_n but_o the_o learned_a among_o themselves_o they_o can_v tell_v when_o they_o have_v the_o true_a sense_n and_o meaning_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n no_o not_o of_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v fundamental_a unless_o the_o church_n consent_n with_o they_o nay_o the_o great_a rabbin_n and_o doctor_n among_o we_o can_v understand_v the_o scripture_n without_o consent_n of_o the_o church_n oh_o consider_v have_v god_n send_v unto_o we_o his_o word_n as_o a_o letter_n and_o epistle_n to_o testify_v his_o mind_n unto_o we_o and_o unto_o his_o church_n and_o have_v he_o shut_v it_o up_o in_o such_o doubtful_a term_n that_o a_o man_n can_v tell_v when_o he_o have_v the_o understanding_n of_o it_o he_o send_v it_o to_o testify_v his_o mind_n and_o will_n unto_o we_o and_o have_v he_o so_o shut_v it_o up_o that_o we_o can_v tell_v when_o we_o have_v the_o sense_n of_o it_o oh_o fearful_a blasphemy_n why_o it_o be_v better_a that_o we_o have_v no_o scripture_n write_v at_o all_o far_o better_o then_o to_o have_v it_o so_o doubtful_a but_o there_o be_v no_o jot_n of_o it_o but_o serve_v for_o the_o good_a of_o his_o people_n both_o in_o this_o life_n and_o the_o life_n to_o come_v god_n have_v so_o order_v the_o tongue_n of_o the_o holy_a writer_n and_o penman_n of_o scripture_n his_o prophet_n and_o apostle_n that_o the_o meaning_n be_v easy_a to_o be_v understand_v by_o such_o as_o come_v unto_o it_o with_o attentive_a mind_n that_o do_v read_v diligent_o mark_v attentive_o judge_v humble_o and_o pray_v hearty_o use_v 2_o but_o to_o make_v use_n of_o this_o to_o ourselves_o be_v it_o so_o that_o the_o holy_a prophet_n and_o penman_n of_o scripture_n do_v deliver_v god_n upon_o the_o body_n and_o soul_n of_o man_n that_o bring_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n though_o god_n may_v just_o condemn_v for_o one_o sin_n yet_o it_o be_v not_o that_o but_o it_o be_v long_o continue_v in_o sin_n without_o repentance_n that_o be_v the_o thing_n and_o the_o only_a thing_n that_o bring_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n when_o man_n abuse_v the_o patience_n of_o god_n and_o stand_v together_o to_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o mercy_n and_o yet_o be_v meritorious_a yea_o let_v i_o tell_v you_o we_o must_v take_v heed_n we_o do_v not_o abuse_v this_o doctrine_n of_o use_n 2_o god_n and_o savour_v it_o to_o our_o destruction_n and_o hereupon_o do_v as_o many_o do_v cast_v off_o all_o care_n of_o good_a work_n because_o they_o do_v not_o merit_v yet_o it_o be_v our_o duty_n to_o show_v unto_o god_n our_o thankfulness_n for_o his_o mercy_n unto_o we_o in_o give_v we_o right_a and_o title_n to_o heaven_n and_o to_o express_v our_o thankfulness_n unto_o he_o in_o all_o holy_a obedience_n yea_o without_o question_n we_o be_v bind_v to_o thankfulness_n for_o external_a and_o temporal_a good_a thing_n because_o we_o find_v that_o the_o use_n and_o comfort_n of_o it_o come_v from_o god_n oh_o much_o more_o be_v we_o then_o to_o be_v thankful_a unto_o god_n for_o heaven_n and_o in_o give_v we_o hope_n of_o inheritance_n in_o heaven_n and_o now_o because_o every_o one_o will_v be_v ready_a to_o soothe_v up_o himself_o and_o to_o say_v i_o hope_v i_o shall_v come_v to_o heaven_n and_o i_o be_o thankful_a for_o it_o
