life_n to_o true_a repentance_n if_o true_a at_o last_o even_o as_o to_o the_o first_o and_o early_a repentance_n the_o reward_n be_v to_o all_o of_o grace_n and_o not_o of_o debt_n it_o be_v also_o to_o be_v consider_v there_o remain_v a_o hour_n of_o work_v represent_v rather_o old_a age_n than_o a_o deathbed_n if_o the_o colour_n of_o a_o parable_n prove_v any_o thing_n and_o so_o be_v rather_o against_o this_o repentance_n than_o for_o it_o in_o the_o second_o objection_n i_o suppose_v man_n take_v sanctuary_n at_o infinite_a mercy_n and_o power_n in_o this_o manner_n although_o no_o thought_n of_o man_n can_v reach_v the_o mercy_n that_o accept_v or_o give_v repentance_n at_o the_o last_o yet_o mercy_n be_v as_o much_o above_o our_o thought_n as_o the_o heaven_n above_o the_o earth_n what_o can_v we_o define_v concern_v it_o and_o though_o there_o be_v so_o many_o circumstance_n of_o impossibility_n according_a to_o our_o measure_n of_o thing_n yet_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v impossible_a with_o man_n with_o god_n be_v possible_a for_o with_o god_n all_o thing_n be_v possible_a how_o can_v we_o then_o determine_v in_o this_o case_n can_v we_o by_o search_v find_v out_o the_o almighty_a in_o his_o mercy_n and_o power_n can_v we_o find_v he_o out_o to_o perfection_n it_o be_v high_a as_o heaven_n what_o can_v we_o do_v it_o be_v deep_a than_o hell_n what_o can_v we_o know_v the_o measure_n thereof_o be_v long_o than_o the_o earth_n and_o broad_a than_o the_o sea_n answer_n now_o because_o in_o this_o objection_n the_o sinew_n of_o all_o hope_n and_o expectation_n from_o this_o late_a repentance_n meet_v i_o will_v endeavour_v to_o give_v the_o most_o punctual_a answer_n to_o it_o and_o though_o i_o know_v after_o all_o that_o be_v or_o can_v be_v say_v man_n will_v not_o quit_v it_o yet_o i_o shall_v rest_v upon_o this_o answer_n as_o my_o last_o resolution_n of_o this_o case_n and_o by_o it_o raise_v the_o dissuasion_n from_o a_o therefore_o it_o have_v be_v note_v the_o question_n be_v not_o whether_o god_n accept_v a_o true_a repentance_n how_o late_o soever_o but_o whether_o god_n will_v give_v a_o true_a repentance_n so_o late_o and_o herein_o the_o question_n be_v not_o of_o the_o limit_n the_o absolute_a limit_n of_o infinite_a mercy_n and_o power_n but_o what_o limit_n it_o have_v set_v to_o itself_o and_o what_o season_n it_o have_v limit_v to_o we_o and_o whether_o according_a to_o these_o a_o deathbed_n repentance_n be_v not_o almost_o if_o not_o altogether_o a_o impossibility_n i_o will_v therefore_o lay_v down_o several_a degree_n of_o impossibility_n notwithstanding_o infinite_a mercy_n and_o power_n that_o must_v necessary_o abate_v the_o irregular_a confidence_n of_o such_o a_o repentance_n and_o under_o one_o of_o they_o i_o shall_v be_v bold_a to_o place_v it_o 1._o the_o high_a degree_n of_o impossibility_n be_v of_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v utter_o and_o absolute_o impossible_a with_o god_n because_o they_o be_v irreconcilable_a with_o his_o nature_n and_o such_o wherein_n if_o they_o be_v he_o must_v deny_v himself_o which_o he_o can_v do_v for_o though_o there_o be_v nothing_o above_o god_n not_o so_o much_o as_o any_o goodness_n or_o righteousness_n abstract_v from_o himself_o that_o shall_v give_v he_o law_n yet_o he_o be_v himself_o that_o supreme_a goodness_n and_o righteousness_n he_o be_v a_o law_n to_o himself_o his_o nature_n be_v his_o supreme_a and_o inviolable_a law_n and_o his_o will_n stand_v always_o even_o with_o his_o nature_n for_o his_o will_n be_v
