instrument_n of_o our_o good_a on_o earth_n i_o know_v not_o but_o i_o know_v that_o our_o love_n to_o they_o with_o who_o we_o have_v holy_a comfort_n on_o earth_n may_v well_o render_v heaven_n more_o familiar_a to_o we_o now_o and_o more_o suitable_a to_o our_o desire_n o_o how_o great_a a_o number_n of_o my_o godly_a friend_n be_v there_o they_o be_v so_o many_o that_o i_o can_v make_v a_o catalogue_n of_o their_o name_n but_o the_o memory_n of_o abundance_n of_o they_o do_v delight_v i_o and_o when_o we_o meet_v there_o we_o shall_v be_v far_o better_a know_v to_o each_o other_o than_o we_o be_v to_o the_o most_o intimate_a on_o earth_n o_o let_v christian_n now_o so_o converse_v together_o as_o remember_v that_o they_o must_v meet_v in_o heaven_n where_o all_o that_o be_v secret_a will_v be_v bring_v to_o light_v if_o we_o now_o put_v on_o any_o vizor_n and_o seem_v better_a than_o we_o be_v if_o we_o hide_v any_o sin_n or_o base_a corruption_n if_o we_o by_o fraud_n or_o falsehood_n deceive_v our_o friend_n all_o this_o will_v be_v open_v when_o we_o meet_v in_o heaven_n it_o be_v a_o daily_a grief_n and_o shame_n to_o my_o soul_n to_o think_v of_o the_o sin_n that_o i_o have_v commit_v against_o some_o that_o be_v now_o in_o heaven_n which_o i_o either_o excuse_v extenuate_v or_o hide_v and_o to_o think_v how_o much_o evil_n they_o will_v know_v of_o i_o there_o which_o on_o earth_n they_o know_v not_o by_o i_o but_o god_n who_o pardon_v they_o will_v cause_v his_o servant_n there_o to_o forgive_v each_o other_o but_o the_o detect_v sin_n for_o all_o that_o will_v be_v a_o odious_a shameful_a thing_n lie_v and_o hypocrisy_n be_v there_o no_o cloak_n but_o a_o aggravation_n of_o the_o shame_n if_o we_o can_v confess_v and_o take_v shame_n to_o ourselves_o by_o repentance_n upon_o earth_n how_o shall_v we_o appear_v in_o the_o open_a light_n and_o see_v the_o face_n of_o those_o who_o we_o wrong_v what_o diminution_n it_o will_v make_v of_o our_o joy_n i_o know_v not_o but_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o dishonour_n to_o have_v be_v false_a to_o god_n or_o man._n and_o especial_o when_o we_o meet_v where_o sin_n be_v perfect_o hate_v to_o think_v how_o we_o either_o sin_v together_o or_o that_o we_o tempt_v and_o ensnare_v one_o another_o in_o any_o sin_n how_o it_o will_v affect_v we_o then_o i_o do_v not_o full_o know_v but_o it_o be_v now_o to_o i_o a_o far_o great_a grief_n to_o think_v of_o any_o in_o heaven_n who_o i_o tempt_v or_o wrong_v than_o it_o be_v while_o they_o live_v with_o i_o on_o earth_n and_o i_o think_v there_o be_v somewhat_o of_o this_o nature_n common_a to_o good_a and_o bad_a even_o the_o conscience_n of_o wicked_a man_n do_v haunt_v they_o for_o notable_a injury_n to_o other_o especial_o conceal_v one_o and_o especial_o for_o persecute_v the_o servant_n of_o god_n when_o they_o be_v dead_a more_o than_o while_o they_o live_v in_o so_o much_o that_o though_o i_o doubt_v not_o of_o real_a apparition_n i_o be_o ready_a to_o think_v that_o some_o that_o say_v they_o be_v haunt_v by_o the_o sight_n and_o the_o voice_n of_o such_o as_o seem_v to_o they_o to_o be_v decease_v person_n be_v rather_o haunt_v by_o their_o own_o conscience_n which_o strong_o represent_v those_o person_n to_o their_o imagination_n but_o on_o the_o other_o side_n it_o be_v a_o great_a delight_n to_o i_o to_o think_v of_o the_o good_a which_o i_o receive_v from_o many_o that_o be_v now_o in_o heaven_n of_o the_o profitable_a sermon_n which_o i_o hear_v from_o some_o and_o the_o profitable_a conversation_n which_o i_o have_v with_o other_o how_o oft_o we_o sweet_o consult_v together_o of_o the_o thing_n which_o concern_v everlasting_a life_n how_o many_o day_n in_o public_a and_o private_a we_o spend_v in_o preparation_n and_o in_o some_o prospect_n of_o the_o blessedness_n which_o now_o they_o enjoy_v and_o it_o be_v not_o a_o small_a mercy_n to_o i_o that_o i_o can_v think_v of_o multitude_n now_o in_o heaven_n of_o who_o conversion_n and_o salvation_n god_n have_v make_v my_o weak_a endeavour_n a_o prosperous_a mean_n o_o what_o a_o mercy_n be_v it_o to_o think_v on_o that_o while_o i_o be_o yet_o compass_v with_o temptation_n and_o languish_v in_o weakness_n and_o groan_v in_o pain_n and_o worst_a of_o all_o burden_a with_o a_o dark_a and_o sinful_a soul_n so_o many_o be_v pass_v all_o this_o with_o christ_n by_o mean_n of_o any_o help_n which_o he_o send_v they_o by_o my_o labour_n it_o have_v oft_o humble_v i_o great_o to_o read_v in_o the_o life_n of_o such_o man_n as_o john_n janeway_n and_o joseph_n allen_n how_o much_o of_o their_o proficiency_n they_o ascribe_v to_o my_o write_n and_o how_o far_o they_o over-went_a i_o and_o leave_v i_o quite_o behind_o they_o in_o holy_a delight_n and_o praise_n of_o god_n but_o how_o much_o more_o be_o i_o below_o a_o multitude_n now_o in_o heaven_n who_o call_v i_o father_n here_o on_o earth_n and_o if_o here_o i_o must_v rejoice_v with_o they_o that_o rejoice_v as_o well_o as_o mourn_v with_o they_o that_o mourn_v why_o shall_v i_o not_o much_o more_o rejoice_v with_o all_o the_o bless_a society_n above_o and_o more_o familiar_o with_o my_o old_a acquaintance_n pupil_n and_o dear_a friend_n my_o love_n shall_v be_v most_o to_o the_o best_a and_o therefore_o more_o to_o they_o than_o to_o any_o other_o of_o my_o friend_n and_o therefore_o my_o union_n with_o they_o be_v close_o and_o their_o felicity_n far_o great_a i_o shall_v think_v with_o more_o joy_n of_o they_o than_o of_o any_o leave_v behind_o they_o be_v safe_a in_o the_o harbour_n past_o all_o our_o dangerous_a storm_n and_o wave_n and_o though_o they_o know_v or_o will_v know_v more_o of_o my_o sin_n than_o they_o do_v on_o earth_n and_o hate_v their_o vile_a body_n lie_v like_o common_a dust_n how_o much_o better_o do_v they_o now_o know_v the_o love_n of_o god_n the_o mystery_n of_o grace_n the_o heavenly_a glory_n the_o state_n of_o spirit_n in_o the_o city_n of_o god_n than_o i_o do_v who_o be_v wont_a to_o preach_v it_o to_o they_o god_n that_o send_v down_o moses_n and_o elias_n to_o show_v that_o saint_n in_o heaven_n and_o on_o earth_n have_v communnion_n will_v bring_v i_o and_o my_o friend_n now_o in_o heaven_n together_o again_o into_o a_o far_o sweet_a communion_n than_o ever_o we_o have_v here_o §_o 24._o it_o be_v no_o great_a wonder_n that_o peter_n shall_v be_v transport_v with_o this_o glorious_a sight_n and_o great_o delight_v with_o this_o heavenly_a communion_n and_o say_v master_n it_o be_v good_a for_o we_o to_o be_v here_o will_v not_o a_o sight_n a_o glimpse_n of_o heaven_n have_v transport_v any_o holy_a soul_n yea_o even_o those_o that_o now_o lie_v in_o tear_n and_o fear_n and_o be_v overwhelm_v with_o doubt_n and_o trouble_n when_o they_o be_v grope_v after_o god_n and_o groan_v on_o their_o knee_n because_o they_o feel_v more_o of_o his_o frown_n than_o of_o his_o love_n if_o then_o they_o have_v such_o a_o sight_n as_o this_o what_o a_o change_n will_v it_o make_v upon_o they_o perhaps_o you_o will_v say_v that_o the_o doubt_n of_o their_o own_o sincerity_n may_v still_o deprive_v they_o of_o the_o joy_n no_o this_o sight_n will_v banish_v doubt_n and_o trouble_n it_o be_v a_o communication_n of_o love_n
