nor_o acknowledge_v the_o benefit_n by_o which_o they_o be_v provoke_v unto_o his_o love_n and_o beside_o all_o these_o they_o take_v away_o the_o peace_n and_o joy_n of_o the_o conscience_n they_o do_v extinguish_v the_o heat_n and_o fervor_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o do_v leave_v a_o man_n filthy_a blemish_v deform_a and_o abominable_a in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n and_o in_o the_o sight_n of_o all_o his_o saint_n from_o all_o these_o evil_n this_o benefit_n do_v deliver_v us._n for_o so_o bottomless_a be_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n that_o he_o be_v not_o content_a to_o have_v pardon_v our_o fault_n and_o to_o have_v receive_v man_n into_o favour_n unless_o also_o he_o expel_v all_o these_o evil_n which_o sin_n bring_v with_o they_o reform_v and_o renew_v our_o inward_a man_n by_o the_o servitude_n of_o the_o devil_n mitigate_v and_o aswage_v the_o fury_n and_o rage_n of_o our_o perverse_a affection_n and_o perturbation_n and_o do_v restore_v unto_o we_o the_o true_a liberty_n &_o beauty_n of_o our_o soul_n do_v give_v we_o the_o peace_n and_o joy_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n do_v revive_v our_o inward_a sense_n do_v make_v they_o prompt_v and_o fit_a to_o every_o good_a work_n and_o slow_a to_o any_o evil_n make_v they_o strong_a and_o valiannto_o resist_v the_o temptation_n of_o the_o devil_n and_o do_v enrich_v we_o with_o all_o good_a work_n to_o be_v brief_a he_o do_v so_o absolute_o renew_v and_o repair_v our_o inward_a man_n with_o all_o his_o power_n that_o the_o apostle_n call_v such_o man_n justify_v renew_a yea_o new_a creature_n this_o renew_v be_v so_o great_a that_o when_o it_o be_v make_v by_o baptism_n it_o be_v call_v regeneration_n but_o when_o by_o repentance_n it_o be_v call_v a_o resurrection_n and_o rise_v again_o not_o only_o because_o the_o soul_n be_v raise_v from_o the_o death_n of_o sin_n to_o the_o life_n of_o grace_n but_o because_o after_o a_o certain_a manner_n it_o also_o imitate_v the_o beauty_n of_o the_o future_a resurrection_n this_o be_v so_o true_a soul_n that_o no_o tongue_n of_o man_n be_v sufficient_a to_o express_v the_o beauty_n of_o a_o justify_v soul_n this_o only_a know_v that_o spirit_n that_o make_v it_o beautiful_a and_o his_o temple_n
and_o place_v his_o seat_n and_o mansion_n in_o it_o wherefore_o if_o thou_o compare_v all_o the_o riches_n and_o honour_n of_o this_o world_n and_o all_o natural_a grace_n with_o the_o beauty_n and_o riches_n of_o a_o justify_v soul_n all_o will_v seem_v most_o obscure_a and_o most_o vild_a in_o comparison_n of_o it_o for_o as_o great_a difference_n as_o there_o be_v between_o heaven_n and_o earth_n between_o a_o spirit_n and_o a_o body_n between_o eternity_n and_o momentary_a time_n so_o great_a difference_n also_o be_v there_o find_v between_o the_o life_n of_o grace_n and_o the_o life_n of_o nature_n between_o the_o beauty_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o body_n between_o the_o inward_a riches_n and_o the_o outward_a between_o the_o spiritual_a strength_n and_o the_o natural_a for_o all_o these_o be_v circumscribe_v within_o certain_a limit_n they_o be_v temporal_a and_o appear_v only_o beautiful_a to_o the_o corporal_a eye_n to_o which_o a_o general_a come_n of_o god_n be_v sufficient_a but_o to_o the_o other_o a_o special_a particular_a and_o supernatural_a come_n be_v require_v neither_o can_v they_o be_v call_v temporal_a when_o they_o bring_v we_o to_o eternity_n neither_o can_v they_o be_v call_v altogether_o finite_a because_o they_o bring_v the_o infinite_a god_n to_o we_o in_o who_o eye_n they_o be_v so_o precious_a and_o of_o such_o valour_n that_o by_o their_o beauty_n they_o provoke_v god_n to_o love_v us._n furthermore_o when_o as_o god_n can_v have_v wrought_v all_o these_o thing_n by_o his_o help_n and_o will_n he_o will_v not_o do_v it_o but_o it_o please_v he_o to_o adorn_v the_o soul_n with_o infuse_a virtue_n and_o with_o the_o gift_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n with_o which_o not_o only_o the_o very_a essence_n of_o the_o soul_n but_o also_o all_o her_o power_n be_v clothe_v and_o adorn_v with_o these_o divine_a habit_n to_o all_o these_o divine_a benefit_n the_o eternal_a and_o infinite_a goodness_n of_o god_n do_v join_v another_o us._n that_o be_v the_o presence_n and_o aid_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o so_o of_o all_o the_o most_o sacred_a trinity_n which_o do_v turn_v into_o a_o justify_v soul_n and_o do_v come_v that_o he_o may_v dwell_v in_o she_o that_o he_o may_v teach_v she_o how_o to_o use_v right_o so_o great_a riches_n similitude_n as_o a_o good_a father_n who_o not_o content_a to_o have_v give_v riches_n to_o his_o son_n but_o do_v give_v he_o also_o a_o tutor_n who_o well_o know_v how_o to_o dispose_v &_o bestow_v they_o insomuch_o that_o even_o as_o viper_n dragon_n and_o serpent_n do_v dwell_v in_o the_o soul_n of_o a_o sinner_n which_o be_v a_o multitude_n of_o ill_a &_o malignant_a spirit_n who_o choose_v their_o habitation_n and_o abide_n in_o such_o a_o soul_n as_o our_o saviour_n say_v in_o matthew_n 12._o so_o on_o the_o contrary_a part_n the_o holy_a spirit_n with_o the_o whole_a bless_a trinity_n do_v enter_v into_o a_o justify_v soul_n 11._o &_o cast_v out_o all_o monster_n and_o infernal_a beast_n do_v consecrate_v it_o for_o a_o temple_n unto_o himself_o and_o do_v place_v his_o seat_n there_o as_o the_o lord_n express_o testify_v in_o the_o gospel_n it_o also_o for_o he_o for_o if_o it_o be_v true_a that_o they_o as_o say_v the_o apostle_n who_o offend_v against_o the_o member_n of_o christ_n 9_o do_v offend_v against_o christ_n himself_o and_o if_o christ_n do_v say_v that_o he_o suffer_v persecution_n when_o his_o member_n do_v suffer_v persecution_n as_o he_o say_v to_o his_o apostle_n persecute_v his_o church_n why_o do_v thou_o marvel_v my_o brother_n if_o i_o say_v that_o when_o the_o member_n be_v honour_v that_o then_o christ_n himself_o be_v also_o honour_a which_o see_v that_o it_o be_v so_o how_o great_a confidence_n will_v a_o man_n be_v conceive_v in_o sin_n live_v in_o a_o corrupt_a flesh_n bend_v to_o all_o evil_a shall_v pass_v so_o many_o year_n among_o so_o many_o snare_n and_o danger_n without_o destruction_n and_o utter_a ruin_n of_o himself_o love_v if_o he_o be_v not_o preserve_v &_o sustain_v by_o the_o divine_a providence_n which_o be_v so_o great_a that_o it_o do_v not_o only_o preserve_v man_n from_o evil_a but_o also_o oftentimes_o it_o do_v turn_v the_o very_a evil_n into_o which_o man_n fall_v through_o carelessness_n and_o negligence_n into_o a_o matter_n of_o great_a good_a that_o be_v as_o often_o as_o by_o that_o they_o be_v make_v more_o wary_a more_o humble_a and_o more_o thankful_a unto_o he_o who_o have_v draw_v they_o back_o from_o so_o great_a danger_n and_o have_v pardon_v they_o so_o great_a a_o sin_n 8._o for_o this_o cause_n the_o apostle_n say_v unto_o they_o that_o love_n god_n all_o thing_n work_v together_o for_o the_o best_a if_o this_o favour_n and_o substance_n as_o well_o in_o his_o house_n as_o in_o his_o field_n notwithstanding_o that_o putiphar_n joseph_n master_n be_v a_o idolater_n what_o bountifulness_n what_o providence_n can_v be_v great_a than_o that_o who_o be_v so_o mad_a that_o will_v not_o serve_v a_o lord_n so_o liberal_a so_o faithful_a and_o so_o love_v towards_o all_o they_o that_o wait_v and_o attend_v upon_o he_o and_o not_o only_o towards_o themselves_o but_o also_o towards_o all_o thing_n that_o be_v they_o ¶_o of_o the_o name_n that_o be_v attribute_v unto_o the_o lord_n in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n by_o reason_n of_o this_o providence_n because_o this_o divine_a providence_n do_v extend_v itself_o to_o many_o and_o wonderful_a effect_n therefore_o god_n have_v in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n diverse_a name_n father_n he_o be_v most_o usual_o and_o solemn_o call_v a_o father_n as_o in_o like_a manner_n god_n in_o most_o place_n of_o the_o gospel_n call_v we_o his_o most_o love_a son_n and_o not_o only_o in_o the_o gospel_n but_o also_o in_o many_o place_n of_o the_o old_a testament_n for_o so_o the_o prophet_n say_v in_o his_o psalm_n 103_o as_o a_o father_n have_v compassion_n on_o his_o child_n so_o have_v the_o lord_n compassion_n on_o they_o that_o fear_v he_o for_o he_o know_v whereof_o we_o be_v make_v he_o remember_v that_o we_o be_v but_o dust_n because_o it_o seem_v but_o a_o small_a thing_n to_o another_o prophet_n that_o he_o shall_v be_v call_v a_o father_n see_v that_o his_o love_n and_o providence_n do_v exceed_v the_o love_n of_o all_o father_n he_o say_v 63._o he_o have_v take_v upon_o he_o the_o name_n of_o a_o father_n he_o will_v also_o be_v call_v a_o pastor_n or_o shepherd_n as_o we_o may_v see_v in_o the_o gospel_n that_o he_o may_v declare_v how_o far_o this_o pastoral_a love_n and_o sheepheardly_a care_n do_v extend_v itself_o he_o say_v i_o be_o the_o good_a shepherd_n and_o know_v my_o sheep_n and_o be_o know_v of_o i_o o_o lord_n how_o do_v thou_o know_v they_o with_o what_o eye_n do_v thou_o behold_v they_o as_o the_o father_n know_v i_o say_v he_o so_o know_v i_o the_o father_n which_o be_v with_o the_o same_o eye_n that_o my_o father_n behold_v i_o i_o behold_v the_o father_n and_o with_o the_o same_o i_o look_v upon_o my_o sheep_n o_o bless_a eye_n o_o happy_a aspect_n o_o supreme_a providence_n what_o great_a glory_n that_o glory_n that_o it_o be_v worthy_a to_o be_v compare_v with_o this_o yet_o what_o one_o and_o how_o great_a the_o work_n and_o benefit_n of_o this_o providence_n be_v god_n by_o his_o prophet_n ezechiell_n do_v most_o plentiful_o teach_v 34_o in_o these_o word_n behold_v i_o will_v search_v my_o sheep_n and_o seek_v they_o out_o as_o a_o shepherd_n search_v out_o his_o flock_n when_o he_o have_v be_v among_o his_o sheep_n that_o be_v scatter_v so_o will_v i_o seek_v out_o my_o sheep_n and_o will_v deliver_v they_o out_o of_o all_o place_n where_o they_o have_v be_v scatter_v in_o the_o cloudy_a and_o dark_a day_n and_o i_o will_v bring_v they_o out_o from_o the_o people_n and_o gather_v they_o from_o the_o country_n and_o will_v bring_v they_o to_o their_o own_o land_n and_o feed_v they_o upon_o the_o mountain_n of_o israel_n by_o the_o river_n and_o in_o all_o the_o inhabit_a place_n of_o the_o country_n i_o will_v feed_v they_o in_o a_o good_a pasture_n and_o upon_o the_o high_a mountain_n of_o israel_n shall_v their_o fold_n be_v there_o shall_v they_o lie_v in_o a_o good_a fold_n and_o in_o fat_a pasture_n shall_v they_o feed_v upon_o the_o mountain_n of_o israel_n
