slide_v back_o by_o a_o conquer_a or_o a_o prevail_a backslide_n a_o perpetual_a backslide_n have_v conquest_n or_o triumph_n attribute_v to_o it_o upon_o a_o twofold_a consideration_n first_o in_o and_o goodness_n of_o god_n for_o his_o thought_n of_o mercy_n be_v as_o high_a above_o our_o act_n of_o sin_n as_o they_o be_v above_o our_o thought_n of_o his_o mercy_n &_o that_o be_v as_o high_a as_o the_o heaven_n be_v in_o comparison_n of_o the_o earth_n isa_n 55.9_o but_o the_o mercy_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v say_v to_o be_v overcome_v by_o perpetual_a backslide_n

at_o least_o by_o supposition_n be_v it_o not_o thus_o but_o what_o reason_n have_v he_o for_o this_o supposition_n none_o but_o this_o the_o greatness_n of_o his_o affliction_n the_o infinite_a trouble_n that_o be_v upon_o he_o god_n set_v no_o bound_n to_o job_n sorrow_n therefore_o he_o think_v job_n have_v sin_v beyond_o all_o bound_n hence_o observe_v we_o be_v ready_a to_o judge_v their_o sin_n great_a who_o be_v the_o great_a sufferer_n though_o we_o know_v nothing_o by_o they_o though_o we_o can_v charge_v nothing_o upon_o they_o yet_o this_o thought_n rise_v natural_o in_o to_o suffer_v because_o they_o be_v think_v the_o worst_a of_o sinner_n so_o doubtless_o many_o who_o see_v they_o suffer_v think_v they_o such_o though_o they_o know_v nothing_o do_v by_o they_o to_o make_v they_o such_o read_v also_o this_o spirit_n luk._n 13.2_o act._n 28.4_o this_o have_v be_v former_o observe_v from_o other_o passage_n in_o this_o book_n and_o therefore_o i_o only_o touch_v suffer_v but_o sin_n sin_n be_v so_o much_o and_o so_o often_o the_o cause_n of_o suffering_n that_o we_o do_v it_o no_o wrong_n to_o suspect_v it_o as_o the_o cause_n of_o all_o suffering_n and_o it_o be_v indeed_o one_o kind_n of_o cause_n causa_fw-la sine_fw-la qua_fw-la non_fw-la of_o all_o our_o suffering_n so_o that_o we_o can_v hardly_o wrong_v sin_n by_o this_o suspicion_n but_o we_o make_v they_o bluster_v more_o &_o more_o we_o daily_o hear_v the_o complaint_n and_o cry_n of_o soul_n thus_o toss_v come_v to_o christ_n as_o his_o disciple_n once_o do_v and_o cry_v to_o he_o master_n save_o we_o we_o perish_v we_o fear_v we_o shall_v be_v overwhelm_v and_o drown_v in_o this_o black_a sea_n of_o our_o corruption_n to_o such_o christ_n say_v o_o you_o of_o little_a faith_n wherefore_o do_v you_o thus_o fear_n can_v i_o smite_v through_o the_o proud_a the_o proud_a wave_n of_o your_o heart_n be_v unbelief_n the_o proud_a wave_n that_o you_o fear_v will_v swallow_v you_o up_o christ_n can_v give_v you_o such_o a_o increase_n of_o faith_n as_o shall_v swallow_v up_o your_o unbelief_n be_v pride_n itself_o the_o proud_a wave_n that_o be_v like_a to_o overwhelm_v you_o
