give_v they_o up_o judicial_o so_o much_o do_v the_o order_n of_o this_o sentence_n import_n you_o be_v not_o my_o people_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v reason_n he_o subjoyne_v i_o will_v not_o be_v your_o god_n 7._o a_o people_n may_v seem_v to_o be_v on_o the_o recover_a hand_n for_o outward_a strength_n yea_o and_o possible_o seem_v not_o to_o be_v so_o ill_a as_o former_o when_o their_o their_o captivity_n ver._n 10._o yet_o the_o number_n of_o the_o child_n of_o israel_n shall_v be_v as_o the_o sand_n of_o the_o sea_n which_o can_v be_v measure_v nor_o number_v and_o it_o shall_v come_v to_o pass_v that_o in_o the_o place_n where_o it_o be_v say_v unto_o they_o you_o be_v not_o my_o people_n there_o it_o shall_v be_v say_v unto_o they_o you_o be_v the_o son_n of_o the_o live_a god_n unto_o these_o threaten_n be_v subjoin_v some_o gospel-promise_n for_o the_o comfort_n of_o the_o godly_a who_o shall_v taste_v of_o these_o calamity_n the_o first_o promise_n be_v that_o though_o israel_n shall_v be_v reject_v as_o a_o nation_n yet_o the_o true_a israelite_n of_o jew_n and_o gentile_n shall_v be_v increase_v under_o the_o gospel_n as_o the_o sand_n of_o the_o sea_n and_o though_o their_o be_v cast_v out_o of_o their_o land_n shall_v be_v a_o evidence_n of_o their_o rejection_n as_o well_o as_o the_o gentile_n be_v yet_o in_o all_o place_n throughout_o the_o world_n where_o they_o and_o the_o gentile_n shall_v embrace_v christ_n they_o shall_v enjoy_v the_o dignity_n and_o the_o privilege_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n this_o prediction_n be_v so_o express_o apply_v both_o to_o jew_n and_o gentile_n rom._n 9.24_o 25_o 26._o and_o to_o the_o scatter_a stranger_n 1_o pet._n 1.1_o with_o 2.10_o that_o there_o be_v no_o doubt_n to_o be_v make_v of_o it_o doct._n 1._o in_o a_o time_n of_o great_a severity_n the_o lord_n remember_v mercy_n and_o do_v not_o alter_v his_o purpose_n of_o be_v great_a and_o get_v worshipper_n in_o the_o world_n for_o man_n may_v be_v allure_v to_o it_o by_o reason_n of_o prosperity_n which_o seem_v to_o attend_v it_o yet_o it_o beget_v such_o a_o stiffe-neck_n as_o affliction_n will_v not_o drive_v from_o it_o for_o though_o she_o follow_v her_o lover_n for_o bread_n and_o water_n etc._n etc._n v._n 5._o yet_o now_o when_o her_o way_n be_v hedge_v up_o she_o will_v not_o abandon_v they_o she_o shall_v follow_v after_o her_o lover_n she_o will_v digest_v more_o affliction_n in_o a_o wrong_a way_n then_o in_o cleave_v to_o god_n affliction_n will_v easy_o make_v she_o stumble_v at_o the_o true_a religion_n but_o will_v not_o drive_v she_o from_o idolatry_n 5._o it_o be_v just_a with_o god_n the_o more_o eager_a that_o man_n be_v on_o sin_n and_o on_o advantage_n by_o it_o to_o let_v they_o meet_v with_o the_o more_o disappointment_n and_o he_o will_v do_v so_o especial_o where_o he_o have_v a_o purpose_n of_o love_n towards_o any_o for_o say_v he_o she_o shall_v follow_v after_o her_o heir_n and_o on_o the_o relation_n of_o a_o husband_n as_o stand_v still_o in_o force_n to_o encourage_v they_o therefore_o be_v she_o allow_v to_o say_v i_o will_v return_v to_o my_o first_o it_o be_v come_v to_o the_o harvest_n 4._o as_o outward_a mercy_n be_v give_v for_o the_o supply_n of_o necessity_n as_o to_o cover_v nakedness_n and_o not_o for_o foster_a of_o luxury_n so_o it_o or_o confederate_n will_v fail_v they_o and_o not_o be_v able_a to_o help_v they_o for_o i_o will_v discover_v her_o lewdness_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o her_o lover_n not_o be_v afraid_a that_o they_o will_v avenge_v her_o
misery_n it_o speak_v a_o woe_n with_o every_o affliction_n that_o be_v on_o and_o threaten_v with_o more_o till_o the_o sinnner_n find_v it_o so_o for_o yea_o woe_n also_o so_o to_o they_o when_o i_o depart_v from_o they_o verse_n 13._o ephraim_n as_o i_o see_v tyrus_n be_v plant_v in_o a_o pleasant_a place_n but_o ephraim_n shall_v bring_v forth_o his_o child_n to_o the_o murderer_n a_o twofold_a tyrus_n 2._o however_o when_o god_n be_v even_o depart_v from_o a_o people_n they_o may_v be_v in_o a_o more_o prosperous_a condition_n then_o ever_o yet_o all_o that_o will_v not_o make_v his_o threaten_n void_a for_o so_o be_v ephraim_n and_o yet_o the_o former_a sentence_n stand_v 3._o the_o idolatry_n of_o parent_n be_v a_o special_a cause_n of_o judgement_n on_o their_o posterity_n for_o such_o be_v ephraim_n who_o shall_v bring_v forth_o his_o child_n to_o the_o murderer_n or_o slayer_n for_o they_o be_v call_v murderer_n not_o so_o much_o because_o the_o assyrian_a have_v not_o a_o lawful_a authority_n as_o to_o point_v at_o the_o cruelty_n of_o their_o execution_n like_o murderer_n verse_n 14._o give_v they_o o_o lord_n what_o will_v thou_o give_v give_v they_o a_o miscarry_v man_n to_o a_o great_a stand_n and_o perplexity_n what_o to_o pray_v for_o in_o outward_a thing_n when_o they_o consider_v a_o people_n sin_n and_o the_o certainty_n of_o judgement_n that_o justice_n call_v for_o stroke_n and_o that_o yet_o these_o be_v sad_a and_o will_v undo_v they_o and_o when_o they_o consider_v that_o in_o time_n of_o calamity_n there_o be_v no_o lot_n we_o can_v pitch_v on_o but_o it_o may_v be_v make_v sad_a then_o what_o appear_v more_o formidable_a so_o much_o do_v the_o prophet_n perplexity_n in_o his_o suit_n teach_v give_v they_o o_o lord_n what_o will_v thou_o lord_n confederate_a people_n may_v so_o far_o miscarry_v as_o to_o provoke_v he_o to_o consume_v they_o so_o as_o beside_o the_o general_a cut_v off_o of_o particular_a person_n they_o shall_v not_o have_v the_o face_n of_o a_o nation_n upon_o the_o earth_n for_o of_o this_o israel_n be_v a_o sad_a instance_n i_o will_v destroy_v it_o from_o off_o the_o face_n of_o the_o earth_n 4._o even_o when_o god_n deal_v with_o his_o people_n in_o great_a extremity_n there_o be_v still_o moderation_n towards_o they_o and_o under_o sad_a dispensation_n they_o will_v meet_v with_o some_o proof_n of_o love_n for_o this_o threaten_a have_v a_o exception_n subjoin_v 5._o as_o the_o lord_n preserve_v a_o remnant_n of_o his_o people_n under_o calamity_n even_o though_o they_o be_v scatter_v and_o afflict_a and_o the_o face_n of_o their_o nation_n extinguish_v be_v a_o sufficient_a reason_n why_o they_o shall_v not_o murmur_v lam._n 3.22_o 39_o and_o be_v well_o emproven_v may_v pretend_v much_o future_a good_a to_o they_o how_o sad_a soever_o their_o cause_n may_v be_v for_o present_a so_o in_o particular_a the_o lord_n will_v never_o utter_o consume_v his_o ancient_a people_n strange_a nation_n be_v a_o sad_a and_o sharp_a trial_n wherewith_o they_o may_v be_v exercise_v who_o escape_n the_o fury_n of_o a_o enemy_n sword_n for_o such_o be_v their_o trial_n here_o i_o
