the_o gospel_n of_o grace_n the_o sacrament_n and_o seal_n of_o it_o and_o sundry_a common_a gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n that_o be_v plentiful_o dispense_v in_o the_o fellowship_n of_o the_o church_n beside_o a_o liberal_a and_o bountiful_a use_n of_o the_o creature_n for_o they_o be_v all_o serviceable_a to_o the_o people_n of_o god_n and_o all_o these_o thing_n do_v flow_v from_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n which_o god_n have_v make_v with_o their_o father_n when_o as_o abraham_n have_v understand_v that_o god_n will_v establish_v the_o covenant_n with_o isaac_n and_o thereupon_o make_v a_o sad_a prayer_n unto_o god_n that_o ishmael_n may_v live_v in_o his_o sight_n gen._n 18.18_o 20._o the_o lord_n answer_v he_o as_o for_o ishmael_n i_o have_v hear_v thou_o behold_v i_o esau_n despise_v his_o birthright_n so_o this_o sort_n of_o child_n despise_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n not_o out_o of_o a_o malicious_a frame_n of_o spirit_n but_o they_o be_v choke_v with_o the_o care_n of_o this_o world_n and_o the_o best_a seed_n that_o be_v sow_o in_o they_o become_v unfruitful_a and_o this_o be_v the_o case_n of_o all_o the_o good_a husband_n of_o the_o world_n that_o despise_v the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n for_o when_o once_o a_o man_n be_v take_v up_o with_o the_o profit_n and_o pleasure_n of_o this_o life_n he_o than_o care_v not_o a_o rush_n for_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n mount_v zion_n be_v not_o now_o commodious_a for_o he_o so_o profane_o do_v they_o undervalue_v the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n in_o comparison_n of_o sensual_a lust_n and_o do_v man_n thus_o fall_v from_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n because_o it_o be_v a_o duty_n above_o the_o power_n of_o nature_n no_o no_o the_o very_a common_a gift_n they_o have_v may_v have_v restrain_v the_o one_o of_o these_o from_o mock_v and_o the_o other_o from_o sell_v his_o birthright_n for_o a_o mess_n of_o pottage_n it_o be_v evident_a that_o the_o child_n of_o christian_a parent_n when_o be_v a_o self-confident_a cleave_v unto_o those_o gift_n of_o grace_n which_o by_o the_o covenant_n they_o have_v receive_v beside_o these_o cause_n of_o their_o fall_n from_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n i_o have_v observe_v no_o more_o in_o scripture_n nor_o have_v i_o find_v any_o more_o in_o my_o own_o experience_n when_o man_n be_v invest_v with_o many_o spiritual_a blessing_n sweet_o endow_v with_o many_o sprinkling_n of_o the_o blood_n of_o the_o covenant_n whereby_o they_o come_v to_o be_v great_a in_o knowledge_n and_o sometime_o excel_v in_o a_o spirit_n of_o prayer_n and_o that_o they_o will_v not_o subject_v themselves_o unto_o the_o righteousness_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n jesus_n and_o this_o be_v the_o rejection_n of_o the_o whole_a house_n of_o israel_n rom._n 10.3_o they_o be_v ignorant_a of_o god_n righteousness_n and_o go_v about_o to_o establish_v their_o own_o righteousness_n have_v not_o submit_v themselves_o unto_o the_o righteousness_n of_o god_n and_o hence_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n be_v unto_o they_o turn_v into_o a_o covenant_n of_o work_n they_o be_v now_o become_v the_o child_n of_o the_o bondwoman_n and_o not_o the_o child_n of_o the_o freewoman_n for_o they_o that_o have_v their_o faith_n in_o themselves_o and_o not_o in_o christ_n they_o fall_v under_o a_o covenant_n of_o work_n so_o that_o mind_n you_o the_o lord_n be_v just_a and_o righteous_a in_o all_o these_o his_o dispensation_n i_o say_v before_o god_n do_v receive_v abraham_n and_o his_o seed_n into_o this_o covenant_n i_o mean_v the_o faithful_a seed_n and_o they_o be_v receive_v into_o the_o second_o sort_n of_o blessing_n of_o the_o covenant_n which_o be_v true_o save_v for_o the_o lord_n receive_v they_o into_o inward_a fellowship_n with_o his_o son_n blessing_n of_o save_a grace_n by_o the_o covenant_n do_v he_o not_o and_o why_o be_v it_o not_o because_o he_o do_v not_o offer_v it_o to_o they_o but_o because_o they_o fall_v off_o from_o it_o such_o to_o convince_v they_o of_o their_o sin_n against_o the_o law_n to_o humble_v they_o to_o the_o death_n and_o to_o drive_v they_o out_o of_o themselves_o and_o confidence_n in_o themselves_o but_o how_o do_v it_o appear_v that_o the_o covenant_n of_o the_o law_n be_v not_o give_v to_o the_o child_n of_o god_n from_o hence_o it_o be_v manifest_a 1._o because_o a_o christian_a man_n neither_o look_v for_o justification_n and_o salvation_n from_o his_o obedience_n to_o the_o law_n nor_o fear_v condemnation_n though_o he_o fail_v in_o his_o obedience_n and_o this_o be_v a_o fruit_n of_o his_o exemption_n from_o under_o the_o covevenant_n of_o the_o law_n for_o if_o a_o man_n shall_v look_v for_o life_n by_o his_o obedience_n to_o the_o law_n and_o fear_v condemnation_n by_o the_o breach_n of_o it_o this_o will_v bring_v a_o man_n under_o the_o covenant_n of_o the_o law_n for_o the_o sanctification_n of_o the_o covenant_n of_o the_o law_n be_v life_n to_o they_o that_o obey_v and_o to_o they_o that_o disobey_v death_n and_o the_o curse_n but_o a_o christian_n look_v not_o for_o life_n by_o his_o obedience_n and_o that_o be_v plain_a psal_n 143.2_o enter_v not_o into_o judgement_n with_o thy_o servant_n for_o in_o thy_o sight_n shall_v no_o flesh_n live_v be_v justify_v so_o rom._n 3.20_o by_o the_o deed_n of_o the_o law_n there_o shall_v no_o flesh_n be_v justify_v for_o by_o the_o law_n be_v the_o knowledge_n of_o sin_n therefore_o no_o hope_n of_o salvation_n from_o our_o obedience_n to_o the_o law_n but_o methinks_v you_o will_v say_v a_o christian_a may_v fear_v his_o condemnation_n because_o of_o his_o disobedience_n to_o the_o law_n true_o this_o be_v a_o great_a snare_n and_o this_o doctrine_n will_v be_v scandalous_a to_o many_o a_o poor_a soul_n but_o without_o cause_n indeed_o if_o god_n give_v a_o man_n to_o be_v under_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n and_o not_o to_o see_v it_o than_o he_o may_v fear_v but_o if_o a_o man_n know_v himself_o to_o be_v under_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n than_o he_o do_v not_o fear_v condemnation_n from_o his_o disobedience_n notable_a to_o this_o purpose_n be_v the_o confidence_n of_o david_n psal_n 49.5_o where_o the_o prophet_n call_v upon_o all_o people_n in_o the_o world_n to_o take_v notice_n of_o it_o both_o man_n of_o high_a degree_n and_o man_n of_o low_a degree_n wherefore_o shall_v i_o fear_v in_o the_o day_n so_o of_o evil_n when_o the_o iniquity_n of_o my_o heel_n shall_v compass_v i_o about_o wherefore_o true_o if_o there_o be_v any_o fear_n in_o the_o for_o that_o he_o have_v do_v as_o god_n command_v he_o but_o i_o be_o less_o than_o the_o least_o of_o thy_o mercy_n and_o yet_o he_o come_v unto_o the_o lord_n for_o the_o performance_n of_o his_o promise_n but_o not_o upon_o this_o ground_n only_o for_o the_o sake_n of_o mercy_n and_o truth_n deliver_v i_o i_o pray_v thou_o for_o thou_o say_v i_o will_v sure_o do_v thou_o good_a ver_fw-la 11_o they_o look_v for_o any_o mercy_n it_o be_v in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n but_o not_o because_o of_o their_o own_o goodness_n their_o hope_n be_v in_o the_o faithfulness_n and_o free_a grace_n of_o grace_n he_o may_v make_v good_a what_o he_o have_v promise_v use_v 1_o if_o any_o therefore_o shall_v accuse_v the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o covenant_n of_o free_a grace_n of_o antinomianism_n and_o say_v it_o teach_v man_n freedom_n from_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n and_o if_o they_o commit_v any_o sin_n they_o plead_v they_o be_v not_o bind_v unto_o the_o law_n we_o see_v how_o false_a such_o a_o aspersion_n will_v be_v for_o all_o the_o people_n of_o god_n know_v that_o the_o lord_n be_v a_o avenger_n of_o every_o such_o wickedness_n there_o be_v none_o under_o a_o covenant_n of_o grace_n that_o dare_v allow_v himself_o in_o any_o sin_n for_o if_o a_o man_n shall_v negligent_o commit_v any_o sin_n the_o lord_n will_v school_v he_o thorough_o and_o make_v he_o sad_o to_o apprehend_v how_o he_o have_v make_v bold_a with_o the_o treasure_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n shall_v we_o continue_v in_o sin_n that_o grace_n may_v abound_v god_n forbid_v none_o that_o have_v a_o portion_n in_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n dare_v therefore_o allow_v himself_o in_o sin_n but_o if_o through_o strength_n of_o temptation_n he_o be_v at_o any_o time_n carry_v aside_o it_o be_v his_o great_a do_v transgress_v against_o it_o we_o know_v it_o be_v sin_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v that_o the_o soul_n in_o such_o a_o case_n be_v sensible_a of_o the_o wrath_n and_o displeasure_n of_o god_n whether_o it_o be_v his_o own_o sin_n or_o the_o sin_n of_o his_o brethren_n therefore_o he_o run_v unto_o god_n for_o mercy_n which_o he_o will_v not_o do_v if_o he_o serve_v to_o teach_v man_n some_o kind_n of_o discernment_n of_o their_o own_o spirit_n and_o state_n if_o you_o look_v for_o justification_n no_o long_o than_o you_o be_v obedient_a and_o fear_v eternal_a condemnation_n when_o you_o be_v disobedient_a if_o you_o be_v afraid_a of_o divorce_n from_o christ_n because_o of_o your_o sin_n or_o if_o you_o look_v for_o any_o blessing_n and_o into_o dangerous_a way_n that_o may_v tend_v unto_o the_o utter_a undo_n of_o his_o soul_n but_o it_o be_v a_o sin_n of_o ignorance_n and_o the_o lord_n will_v not_o leave_v his_o servant_n but_o have_v be_v a_o heir_n of_o grace_n the_o spirit_n of_o god_n deal_v fair_o and_o sweet_o and_o comfortable_o with_o they_o whence_o it_o be_v that_o they_o be_v ofttimes_o sweet_o trim_v up_o with_o many_o good_a gift_n and_o part_n that_o you_o will_v wonder_v to_o see_v how_o forward_o and_o dexterous_a they_o be_v in_o their_o place_n and_o how_o come_v this_o be_v it_o not_o from_o the_o faithfulness_n of_o god_n covenant_n that_o we_o may_v see_v and_o say_v that_o on_o god_n part_n there_o be_v no_o want_n unto_o his_o salvation_n but_o it_o be_v his_o own_o ungracious_a gracelessnesse_n that_o cast_v off_o grace_n in_o the_o mean_n of_o it_o let_v ishmael_n perish_v and_o esau_n perish_v and_o all_o civil_a justiciaries_n perish_v and_o their_o blood_n will_v be_v upon_o their_o own_o head_n the_o lord_n and_o his_o throne_n be_v guiltless_a it_o be_v not_o for_o want_v of_o grace_n offer_v unto_o they_o for_o though_o he_o have_v not_o purpose_v to_o save_v or_o else_o you_o stand_v upon_o your_o own_o righteousness_n and_o establish_v that_o and_o then_o your_o heart_n begin_v to_o rise_v against_o your_o parent_n and_o you_o think_v yourself_o wise_a than_o seven_o man_n that_o can_v render_v a_o reason_n or_o if_o you_o break_v not_o out_o upon_o these_o term_n than_o you_o will_v begin_v to_o see_v that_o god_n have_v enlighten_v your_o mind_n and_o to_o seize_v upon_o your_o heart_n and_o than_o you_o see_v that_o you_o can_v do_v something_o you_o can_v pray_v and_o you_o can_v hear_v with_o profit_n and_o the_o like_a and_o hereupon_o you_o come_v to_o build_v a_o undoubted_a hope_n of_o salvation_n you_o believe_v upon_o this_o that_o your_o soul_n be_v wrap_v up_o in_o a_o bundle_n of_o life_n and_o peace_n and_o if_o any_o man_n come_v to_o shake_v your_o foundation_n you_o be_v like_o a_o stone-wall_n that_o beat_v back_o all_o therefore_o if_o thus_o you_o fall_v off_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o throne_n be_v guiltless_a and_o you_o be_v just_o miserable_a it_o be_v the_o blood_n of_o the_o covenant_n that_o do_v sanctify_v you_o but_o it_o will_v not_o save_v you_o because_o you_o do_v not_o look_v to_o be_v justify_v by_o it_o so_o that_o as_o you_o have_v despise_v the_o covenant_n of_o god_n you_o be_v now_o cut_v off_o from_o the_o save_a fellowship_n of_o it_o which_o else_o the_o lord_n have_v
