shall_v from_o time_n to_o time_n be_v appoint_v by_o the_o say_a justice_n master_n warden_n and_o assistant_n or_o any_o thirtéen_n of_o they_o upon_o eight_o day_n notice_n or_o warning_n to_o be_v give_v of_o such_o meeting_n and_o court_n to_o be_v hold_v and_o in_o case_n that_o the_o master_n warden_n and_o assistant_n or_o the_o major_a part_n of_o they_o shall_v refuse_v or_o neglect_v for_o not_o conform_v as_o aforesaid_a excee_v not_o the_o sum_n of_o twenty_o shilling_n for_o one_o offence_n the_o full_a moiety_n or_o one_o half_a of_o the_o say_a fine_n and_o penalty_n to_o go_v to_o the_o use_n of_o the_o say_a corporation_n and_o the_o other_o half_a or_o moiety_n to_o the_o use_n of_o the_o poor_a of_o the_o parish_n where_o such_o person_n so_o offend_v may_v be_v dwell_v and_o inhabit_v and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o say_a justice_n master_n cloth_n power_n to_o appoint_v searcher_n of_o cloth_n warden_n and_o assistant_n or_o any_o thirtéen_n of_o they_o shall_v have_v power_n to_o nominate_v and_o choose_v searcher_n of_o cloth_n in_o the_o several_a place_n of_o the_o say_v west-riding_a who_o shall_v be_v swear_v before_o they_o or_o any_o thirtéen_n of_o they_o in_o manner_n aforesaid_a for_o the_o true_a search_n of_o cloth_n that_o it_o be_v of_o a_o due_a weight_n length_n and_o breadth_n therefore_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o length_n weight_n and_o breadth_n of_o the_o say_v new_a drapery_n of_o broad_a woollen_a cloth_n make_v within_o the_o say_v west-riding_a be_v and_o shall_v be_v as_o be_v hereby_o limit_v and_o appoint_v viz_o that_o every_o cloth_n call_v by_o the_o name_n of_o a_o end_n or_o half_a cloth_n shall_v be_v betwixt_o fifteen_o yard_n and_o eighteen_o yard_n in_o length_n in_o the_o water_n and_o not_o to_o excee_v and_o one_o yard_n and_o a_o half_a in_o breadth_n at_o the_o least_o within_o the_o list_n and_o every_o cloth_n common_o call_v a_o short_a cloth_n between_o twenty_o four_o yard_n and_o twenty_o eight_o yard_n in_o length_n in_o the_o water_n and_o not_o to_o excee_v and_o one_o yard_n and_o not_o to_o excee_v &_o a_o yard_n and_o a_o half_a in_o breadth_n at_o the_o least_o within_o the_o list_n and_o that_o every_o yard_n of_o such_o cloth_n shall_v weigh_v respective_o two_o pound_n voyage_n towards_o the_o repair_n of_o dover-harbour_n the_o sum_n of_o three_o penny_n for_o every_o tun_n of_o the_o burden_n of_o every_o such_o ship_n vessel_n or_o crayer_n except_o vessel_n load_v with_o sea-coal_n or_o grind-stone_n or_o purbeck_n or_o portland-stone_n and_o for_o every_o chauldron_n of_o sea-coal_n or_o tun_n of_o grind-stone_n penny_n halfpenny_n the_o same_o to_o be_v pay_v to_o the_o customer_n or_o collector_n of_o custom_n or_o subsidy_n or_o their_o deputy_n within_o this_o realm_n in_o such_o port_n from_o whence_o such_o ship_n vessel_n or_o crayer_n shall_v set_v forth_o or_o where_o such_o ship_n vessel_n or_o crayer_n shall_v arrive_v before_o they_o load_n or_o unload_v the_o good_n therein_o the_o account_n of_o the_o number_n of_o the_o say_a number_n of_o the_o say_a tun_n to_o be_v make_v according_a to_o the_o entry_n of_o good_n in_o every_o ship_n vessel_n or_o crayer_n in_o the_o custom-house_n and_o no_o entry_n thereof_o to_o be_v allow_v in_o any_o office_n of_o custom_n or_o subsidy_n without_o true_a information_n before_o make_v by_o oath_n of_o the_o master_n owner_n or_o shipper_n of_o such_o ship_n vessel_n or_o every_o customer_n or_o comptroller_n or_o their_o deputy_n that_o shall_v make_v any_o entry_n of_o custom_n or_o subsidy_n of_o any_o good_n in_o the_o say_a ship_n vessel_n or_o crayer_n before_o such_o information_n as_o aforesaid_a concern_v the_o burden_n thereof_o shall_v be_v make_v or_o before_o payment_n make_v of_o the_o sum_n before_o limit_a to_o be_v pay_v by_o this_o act_n or_o shall_v make_v any_o wilful_a default_n in_o not_o collect_v the_o say_a sum_n or_o any_o of_o they_o or_o not_o pay_v the_o same_o over_o from_o time_n to_o time_n to_o the_o treasurer_n of_o the_o say_a harbour_n for_o the_o time_n be_v or_o such_o person_n or_o person_n as_o he_o shall_v assign_v to_o receive_v the_o same_o as_o aforesaid_a shall_v forfeit_v to_o the_o use_n of_o the_o reparation_n of_o the_o say_a harbour_n ten_o pound_n for_o every_o such_o default_n to_o be_v recover_v by_o action_n of_o debt_n in_o any_o court_n of_o record_n by_o the_o warden_n and_o assistant_n of_o the_o say_a harbour_n for_o the_o time_n be_v in_o which_o suit_n no_o essoign_n protection_n or_o wager_n of_o law_n shall_v be_v allow_v repair_v who_o shall_v inspect_v and_o oversee_v the_o repair_v provide_v always_o and_o be_v it_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o it_o shall_v and_o may_v be_v lawful_a to_o and_o for_o the_o master_n and_o warden_n of_o the_o trinity-house_n of_o london_n for_o the_o time_n be_v to_o appoint_v such_o person_n or_o person_n as_o they_o shall_v think_v fit_a to_o inspect_v and_o oversée_v the_o repair_n and_o work_n to_o be_v make_v for_o the_o security_n of_o the_o say_a harbour_n and_o that_o they_o may_v once_o every_o year_n during_o the_o term_n of_o seven_o year_n aforesaid_a require_v a_o account_n of_o the_o respective_a collector_n of_o the_o duty_n aforesaid_a and_o the_o treasurer_n for_o the_o say_a harbour_n for_o the_o time_n be_v of_o the_o money_n by_o they_o respective_o receive_v by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n and_o of_o the_o disbursment_n thereof_o and_o if_o the_o say_a collector_n and_o treasurer_n shall_v not_o within_o six_o week_n next_o after_o demand_n of_o such_o account_n give_v in_o the_o same_o according_o or_o if_o thereupon_o it_o shall_v appear_v that_o the_o say_a money_n shall_v not_o be_v due_o disburse_v in_o and_o about_o the_o say_a repair_n and_o the_o work_n for_o the_o secure_n and_o maintenance_n of_o the_o say_a harbour_n according_a to_o the_o intent_n of_o this_o act_n or_o if_o the_o say_a harbour_n shall_v within_o the_o time_n aforesaid_a be_v sufficient_o repair_v and_o secure_v that_o then_o the_o say_a master_n and_o warden_n shall_v inform_v the_o lord_n of_o his_o majesty_n privy_a council_n thereof_o who_o shall_v and_o may_v thereupon_o and_o to_o that_o purpose_n be_v hereby_o empower_v to_o suspend_v or_o cause_v all_o and_o every_o further_a payment_n by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n to_o cease_v and_o determine_v if_o they_o shall_v see_v cause_n regis_fw-la proviso_n for_o ship_n belong_v to_o weymouth_n melcomb-regis_a lime_n regis_fw-la provide_v always_o and_o be_v it_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o all_o ship_n and_o vessel_n belong_v to_o the_o port_n of_o weymouth_n and_o melcombe-regis_a and_o lime-regis_a in_o the_o county_n of_o dorset_n have_v a_o peire_n and_o cob_n of_o their_o own_o which_o by_o reason_n of_o their_o poverty_n at_o present_a they_o be_v not_o able_a to_o maintain_v shall_v be_v exempt_a from_o contribute_v or_o pay_v any_o thing_n to_o the_o harbour_n of_o dover_n mention_v in_o this_o act_n any_o thing_n herein_o contain_v to_o the_o contrary_a notwithstanding_o so_o as_o they_o shall_v bring_v certificate_n make_v upon_o oath_n before_o the_o mayor_n and_o under_o the_o common_a seal_n of_o the_o say_v respective_a corporation_n that_o the_o say_a ship_n and_o vessel_n do_v proper_o belong_v thereunto_o and_o that_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o say_v respective_a corporation_n be_v owner_n of_o the_o major_a part_n of_o the_o say_a vessel_n provide_v always_o and_o be_v it_o hereby_o enact_v that_o this_o act_n or_o any_o thing_n herein_o contain_v shall_v not_o extend_v to_o authorize_v the_o collection_n of_o more_o than_o the_o sum_n of_o twenty_o two_o thousand_o pound_n in_o the_o whole_a and_o then_o the_o say_a collection_n to_o cease_v cap._n xxviii_o pilchard_n fish_v in_o the_o county_n of_o devon_n and_o cornwall_n regulate_v nation_n fishery_n of_o great_a concernment_n to_o this_o nation_n whereas_o the_o public_a honour_n wealth_n and_o safety_n of_o this_o realm_n as_o well_o in_o the_o the_o maintenance_n of_o trade_n and_o support_v of_o navigation_n as_o in_o many_o other_o the_o five_o and_o twenty_o day_n of_o may_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o and_o two_o no_o person_n or_o person_n shall_v in_o any_o year_n from_o the_o first_o day_n of_o june_n till_o the_o last_o of_o november_n presume_v to_o take_v fish_n in_o the_o high_a sea_n or_o in_o any_o bay_n port_n créek_v or_o coast_n of_o or_o belong_v to_o cornwall_n or_o devon_n with_o any_o or_o other_o person_n instruct_v house_n schoolmaster_n in_o private_a house_n or_o teach_v youth_n in_o any_o private_a house_n or_o family_n as_o a_o tutor_n or_o schoolmaster_n shall_v instruct_v and_o for_o the_o respective_a master_n and_o warden_n of_o the_o cordweyner_n sadler_n girdler_n and_o currier_n of_o the_o city_n of_o london_n and_o their_o deputy_n and_o all_o customer_n comptroller_n farmer_n of_o custom_n supervisor_n searcher_n and_o other_o officer_n belong_v to_o the_o custom_n and_o to_o and_o for_o all_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n mayor_n and_o chief_a officer_n of_o corporation_n within_o this_o realm_n dominion_n of_o wales_n or_o town_n of_o berwick_n upon_o tweed_n from_o time_n to_o time_n as_o well_o by_o land_n as_o water_n to_o search_v for_o and_o seize_v any_o leather_n or_o raw_a hide_v wrought_v or_o unwrought_a cut_v or_o uncut_v pack_v up_o or_o unpacked_a intend_a or_o purpose_v to_o be_v transport_v by_o any_o person_n or_o person_n into_o any_o part_n beyond_o the_o sea_n or_o into_o scotland_n other_o than_o calves-skin_n and_o shéep-skin_n as_o aforesaid_a tanner_n shave_v of_o leather_n by_o tanner_n and_o whereas_o divers_a tanner_n do_v shave_v cut_v and_o rake_v their_o upper-leather_n hide_v all_o over_o and_o the_o neck_n of_o their_o back_n and_o butt_n to_o the_o great_a impair_n thereof_o and_o the_o extreme_a prejudice_n of_o the_o kingdom_n be_v it_o therefore_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o every_o tanner_n who_o after_o the_o nine_o and_o twenty_o day_n of_o september_n in_o the_o year_n of_o our_o lord_n one_o thousand_o six_o hundred_o sixty_o and_o two_o penalty_n the_o penalty_n shall_v commit_v any_o such_o offence_n as_o aforesaid_a shall_v forfeit_v all_o the_o say_a leather_n back_n butt_n or_o calve-skin_n so_o shave_v cut_v or_o rake_v or_o the_o value_n thereof_o and_o it_o shall_v be_v lawful_a for_o the_o searcher_n and_o sealer_n of_o leather_n to_o seize_v the_o same_o london_n leaden-hall_n london_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v that_o the_o market_n for_o leather_n in_o leaden-hall_n in_o london_n shall_v be_v keep_v on_o the_o tuesday_n as_o now_o it_o be_v any_o law_n usage_n or_o custom_n to_o the_o contrary_a in_o any_o wise_n notwithstanding_o recover_v how_o the_o penalty_n shall_v be_v recover_v and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o all_o the_o penalty_n and_o forfeiture_n and_o every_o sum_n and_o sum_n of_o money_n for_o any_o offence_n or_o offence_n herein_o before_o mention_v shall_v be_v recover_v by_o action_n of_o debt_n bill_n plaint_n information_n to_o be_v bring_v for_o the_o same_o in_o any_o court_n or_o court_n at_o westminster_n or_o in_o any_o court_n or_o court_n of_o record_n in_o the_o city_n town_n county_z or_o place_n where_o the_o say_a offence_n shall_v be_v commit_v wherein_o no_o wager_n of_o law_n protection_n or_o essoign_n shall_v be_v admit_v neither_o shall_v the_o same_o be_v remove_v out_o of_o the_o say_a county_n city_n or_o town-corporate_a the_o one_o half_a of_o the_o say_a forfeiture_n to_o be_v to_o the_o use_n of_o the_o king_n majesty_n his_o heir_n and_o successor_n and_o the_o other_o half_o thereof_o to_o the_o use_n of_o the_o informer_n or_o informer_n that_o shall_v sue_v for_o the_o same_o thereof_o transportation_n of_o leather_n declare_v a_o common_a nuisance_n leather_n for_o necessary_a use_n of_o ship_n in_o voyages_n artificer_n deal_v in_o cut_v of_o leather_n in_o london_n or_o within_o three_o mile_n thereof_o provide_v also_o and_o be_v it_o enact_v that_o all_o such_o exportation_n or_o transportation_n of_o any_o hide_v or_o leather_n contrary_a to_o this_o act_n be_v hereby_o adjudge_v and_o declare_v to_o be_v a_o common_a and_o public_a nuisance_n provide_v nevertheless_o that_o this_o act_n shall_v not_o extend_v or_o be_v construe_v to_o prohibit_v the_o carry_n or_o convey_v of_o any_o such_o hide_n or_o leather_n which_o shall_v be_v use_v or_o employ_v for_o the_o necessary_a use_n or_o provision_n of_o any_o ship_n or_o vessel_n in_o any_o voyage_n beyond_o the_o sea_n and_o which_o shall_v not_o be_v sell_v in_o any_o foreign_a part_n so_o as_o the_o number_n do_v not_o excee_v six_o raw_a hide_n and_o three_o tan_a hide_n provide_v always_o nevertheless_o and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o all_o and_o every_o artificer_n deal_v in_o cut_v of_o leather_n or_o other_o person_n or_o person_n whatsoever_o which_o shall_v hereafter_o buy_v any_o red_a tan_a leather_n within_o the_o city_n of_o london_n or_o three_o mile_n thereof_o shall_v before_o the_o next_o market-day_n within_o the_o say_a place_n for_o sale_n of_o leather_n give_v notice_n thereof_o to_o one_o or_o more_o of_o the_o company_n of_o curryers_n then_o exercise_v and_o use_v the_o art_n and_o mystery_n of_o a_o currier_n within_o the_o say_a city_n of_o london_n and_o three_o mile_n thereof_o and_o within_o three_o week_n after_o such_o notice_n shall_v deliver_v or_o cause_n to_o be_v deliver_v the_o say_a leather_n so_o buy_v except_o such_o part_n thereof_o as_o shall_v be_v use_v for_o sol_n without_o be_v curry_v tallow_v or_o dress_v unto_o the_o say_a currier_n or_o curryers_n to_o who_o such_o notice_n be_v give_v to_o the_o intent_n that_o the_o same_o may_v be_v curry_v tallow_v or_o otherwise_o dress_v as_o be_v direct_v and_o appoint_v by_o one_o act_n make_v in_o the_o first_o year_n of_o king_n james_n 22._o 1_o jac._n cap._n 22._o chapter_n twenty_o second_o touch_v the_o duty_n of_o tanner_n curryers_n shoemaker_n and_o other_o upon_o penalty_n of_o the_o forfeiture_n of_o there_o the_o penalty_n by_o the_o say_a act_n make_v in_o the_o first_o year_n of_o king_n james_n that_o no_o person_n or_o person_n shall_v by_o any_o mean_n occupy_v or_o put_v in_o any_o made-ware_n within_o the_o city_n of_o london_n or_o three_o mile_n of_o the_o same_o city_n any_o curried_a leather_n before_o the_o same_o shall_v be_v search_v and_o allow_v by_o the_o warden_n of_o the_o curryers_n of_o london_n for_o the_o time_n be_v or_o such_o person_n as_o they_o shall_v thereto_o assign_v and_o be_v seal_v with_o a_o seal_n therefore_o to_o be_v prepare_v upon_o pain_n that_o every_o shoemaker_n and_o other_o artificer_n cutter_n of_o leather_n offend_v against_o that_o article_n shall_v forfeit_v for_o every_o hide_n or_o skin_n otherwise_o curry_v or_o employ_v as_o be_v aforesaid_a six_o shilling_n eight_o penny_n and_o the_o value_n of_o every_o such_o hide_n or_o skin_n be_v it_o therefore_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o master_n and_o warden_n of_o the_o company_n of_o curryers_n for_o the_o time_n be_v or_o such_o person_n as_o they_o shall_v thereto_o assign_v shall_v from_o time_n to_o time_n and_o at_o all_o seasonable_a time_n in_o the_o day_n time_n enter_v into_o any_o warehouse_n shop_n cellar_n or_o other_o place_n within_o the_o say_a city_n of_o london_n or_o three_o mile_n of_o the_o same_o city_n belong_v unto_o any_o of_o the_o say_a cordwainer_n saddler_n girdler_n or_o other_o person_n or_o person_n be_v artificer_n deal_v in_o cut_v leather_n and_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o any_o two_o or_o more_o of_o they_o to_o search_v for_o and_o seize_v all_o such_o leather_n intend_v to_o be_v prohibit_v to_o be_v use_v by_o the_o say_a clause_n branch_n or_o article_n as_o aforesaid_a as_o also_o for_o all_o ware_n make_v of_o such_o leather_n and_o if_o any_o such_o person_n or_o person_n artificer_n or_o dealer_n as_o aforesaid_a shall_v oppose_v search_n penalty_n king_n most_o excellent_a majesty_n of_o his_o due_n custom_n and_o subsidy_n as_o well_o by_o secret_a and_o deceitful_a design_n as_o by_o open_a force_n and_o violence_n use_v against_o the_o king_n majesty_n officer_n employ_v in_o the_o affair_n of_o the_o custom_n for_o the_o better_a prevent_v of_o which_o fraud_n and_o violence_n in_o time_n to_o come_v it_o be_v enact_v and_o ordain_v by_o the_o king_n most_o excellent_a majesty_n by_o and_o with_o the_o advice_n and_o consent_n of_o the_o lord_n spiritual_a and_o temporal_a and_o commons_o in_o parliament_n assemble_v and_o be_v it_o enact_v and_o ordain_v by_o the_o authority_n thereof_o that_o no_o ship_n or_o vessel_n arrive_v from_o the_o part_n beyond_o the_o sea_n grave-end_n ship_n and_o vessel_n arrive_v from_o beyond_o the_o sea_n at_o grave-end_n shall_v be_v above_o three_o day_n come_v from_o gravesend_n to_o the_o place_n of_o her_o discharge_n within_o the_o river_n of_o thames_n without_o touch_v or_o stay_v at_o any_o wharf_n key_n or_o place_n adjoin_v to_o either_o shoar_n between_o gravesend_n and_o chesters-key_n unless_o apparent_o hinder_v by_o contrary_a wind_n draught_n of_o particular_a mark_n number_n quality_n and_o content_n of_o every_o parcel_n of_o good_n therein_o lade_v to_o the_o best_a of_o his_o knowledge_n also_o where_o and_o in_o what_o port_n she_o take_v in_o her_o lade_n of_o what_o country_n build_v how_o man_v who_o be_v master_n during_o the_o voyage_n and_o who_o be_v owner_n thereof_o and_o in_o all_o out-port_n or_o member_n to_o come_v direct_o up_o to_o the_o place_n of_o unlade_v penalty_n the_o penalty_n as_o the_o condition_n of_o the_o port_n require_v and_o will_v admit_v and_o make_v entry_n as_o aforesaid_a upon_o the_o vessel_n bind_v for_o part_n beyond_o the_o sea_n or_o into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o scotland_n whether_o the_o same_o ship_n or_o vessel_n shall_v have_v commission_n from_o or_o belong_v unto_o the_o king_n majesty_n that_o now_o be_v his_o heir_n or_o successor_n or_o shall_v belong_v to_o or_o have_v commission_n from_o any_o foreign_a prince_n or_o state_n or_o otherwise_o shall_v take_v in_o and_o declare_v in_o write_v under_o he_o or_o their_o hand_n unto_o the_o person_n or_o person_n which_o be_v or_o shall_v be_v appoint_v by_o his_o majesty_n for_o manage_v the_o custom_n the_o agree_v on_o the_o say_a rate_n than_o the_o rate_n to_o be_v settle_v by_o the_o brotherhood_n of_o trinity-house_n of_o deptford-strand_n and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a refuse_v penalty_n upon_o such_o as_o neglect_v or_o refuse_v that_o in_o case_n any_o of_o his_o majesty_n subject_n of_o this_o realm_n shall_v refuse_v or_o wilful_o neglect_v after_o reasonable_a notice_n to_o make_v their_o appearance_n with_o such_o sufficient_a carriage_n by_o land_n or_o to_o fit_v provide_v and_o furnish_v their_o ship_n hoy_n lighter_n boat_n or_o other_o vessel_n for_o the_o service_n of_o his_o majesty_n navy_n or_o ordnance_n as_o be_v before_o express_v or_o shall_v after_o they_o have_v undertake_v such_o service_n neglect_n or_o delay_v the_o same_o that_o then_o upon_o due_a proof_n and_o conviction_n of_o such_o refusal_n or_o neglect_n by_o the_o oath_n of_o the_o constable_n or_o other_o officer_n or_o two_o other_o credible_a witness_n before_o the_o say_a justice_n of_o peace_n of_o the_o county_n or_o mayor_n or_o other_o chief_a officer_n of_o the_o city_n or_o corporation_n where_o he_o or_o they_o inhabit_v which_o oath_n they_o shall_v have_v power_n to_o administer_v for_o the_o land-carriage_n and_o for_o the_o water-carriage_n by_o the_o oath_n of_o such_o person_n as_o shall_v be_v appoint_v by_o the_o and_o recover_v he_o and_o their_o treble_n cost_v against_o the_o person_n offend_v and_o forfeit_v as_o aforesaid_a any_o law_n statute_n custom_n or_o usage_n to_o the_o contrary_a in_o any_o wise_n notwithstanding_o and_o for_o the_o better_a avoid_v and_o prevent_v of_o all_o excessive_a and_o immoderate_a play_v and_o game_n for_o the_o time_n to_o come_v be_v it_o further_o ordain_v
