when_o we_o be_v most_o empty_v of_o creature-enjoyment_n and_o the_o emptiness_n of_o they_o do_v most_o appear_v for_o upon_o these_o two_o do_v our_o converse_v with_o god_n much_o depend_v i_o need_v not_o tell_v you_o how_o apt_a we_o be_v to_o live_v beside_o god_n when_o we_o have_v our_o fill_n of_o creature-delight_n whilst_o we_o can_v entertain_v our_o heart_n with_o a_o create_a sweetness_n we_o soolish_o forget_v and_o neglect_v the_o supreme_a good_a and_o so_o fond_a and_o unreasonable_a be_v this_o affection_n that_o no_o warning_n no_o precept_n will_v serve_v the_o be_v exegetical_a to_o the_o former_a q._n d._n it_o be_v better_a to_o be_v with_o the_o lord_n than_o in_o this_o mortal_a body_n but_o we_o can_v be_v with_o the_o lord_n whilst_o we_o be_v in_o this_o body_n it_o keep_v we_o from_o he_o therefore_o we_o have_v the_o confidence_n to_o part_v with_o it_o it_o be_v the_o reason_n of_o the_o apostle_n confidence_n and_o willingness_n to_o part_v with_o the_o body_n that_o i_o be_o to_o speak_v of_o and_o the_o reason_n be_v because_o this_o body_n keep_v he_o from_o his_o lord_n whilst_o we_o be_v at_o home_n in_o the_o body_n we_o be_v absent_a from_o the_o lord_n the_o word_n be_v a_o metaphor_n and_o be_v to_o be_v translate_v thus_o we_o indwell_v in_o the_o body_n do_v dwell_v out_o from_o the_o lord_n which_o our_o translation_n render_v well_o take_v little_a notice_n of_o the_o metaphor_n whilst_o we_o be_v at_o home_n in_o the_o body_n we_o be_v absent_a from_o the_o lord_n though_o indeed_o if_o they_o have_v leave_v out_o that_o word_n at_o home_n it_o will_v have_v be_v as_o well_o and_o so_o have_v neglect_v the_o metaphor_n altogether_o as_o we_o may_v haply_o hint_n hereafter_o the_o word_n be_v a_o reason_n of_o the_o apostle_n willingness_n to_o be_v dissolve_v and_o do_v contain_v a_o kind_n of_o a_o accusat_fw-la on_o of_o the_o body_n and_o so_o seem_v to_o lay_v a_o blame_n upon_o it_o and_o upon_o this_o animal_n life_n which_o must_v be_v remember_v now_o for_o the_o former_a phrase_n of_o be_v at_o home_n in_o the_o body_n it_o be_v easy_o understand_v and_o general_o i_o think_v agree_v upon_o to_o be_v no_o more_o than_o whilst_o we_o carry_v about_o with_o we_o this_o corruptible_a flesh_n whilst_o we_o live_v this_o natural_a animal_n life_n it_o only_o signify_v man_n in_o his_o compound_a animal_n state_n 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d and_o do_v not_o at_o all_o allude_v to_o his_o sinful_a unregenerate_a or_o carnal_a state_n but_o the_o latter_a phrase_n absent_n from_o the_o lord_n be_v capable_a of_o a_o double_a sense_n both_o good_a and_o true_a and_o i_o think_v both_o fit_a enough_o to_o the_o context_n and_o drift_n of_o the_o apostle_n i_o shall_v speak_v to_o both_o but_o insist_v most_o upon_o the_o latter_a 1._o whilst_o we_o be_v in_o the_o body_n we_o be_v absent_a from_o the_o lord_n i._n e._n from_o the_o bodily_a presence_n of_o the_o lord_n in_o heaven_n absent_a from_o christ_n jesus_n and_o his_o glory_n and_o so_o the_o word_n be_v the_o same_o in_o sense_n with_o 1_o cor._n 15._o 50._o flesh_n and_o blood_n can_v inherit_v the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n for_o by_o flesh_n and_o blood_n there_o must_v needs_o be_v mean_v man_n in_o this_o animal_n corruptible_a state_n and_o so_o the_o apostle_n accuse_v this_o kind_n of_o life_n in_o the_o body_n and_z as_o it_o be_v blame_v it_o for_o stand_v between_o he_o and_o his_o glorify_a lord_n and_o so_o consequent_o between_o he_o and_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o to_o be_v submit_v to_o or_o rest_v in_o but_o to_o be_v choose_v and_o love_v above_o all_o create_a thing_n yea_o even_o above_o life_n itself_o the_o best_a of_o creature_n so_o then_o if_o it_o be_v the_o will_n of_o god_n to_o call_v for_o our_o life_n we_o ought_v ready_o to_o give_v they_o up_o because_o we_o ought_v to_o love_v the_o will_n of_o god_n much_o more_o than_o our_o life_n
