greaten_v each_o other_o grace_n and_o to_o augment_v his_o glory_n again_o he_o inflict_v a_o less_o punishment_n to_o avoid_v a_o great_a and_o by_o smart_v in_o his_o body_n state_n or_o name_n he_o be_v save_v from_o smart_v in_o his_o soul_n he_o be_v chasten_v that_o he_o may_v be_v convert_v not_o confound_v his_o worse_a part_n to_o wit_v his_o body_n state_n or_o name_n be_v impoverish_v that_o his_o better_a part_n that_o be_v his_o soul_n may_v be_v save_v in_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n but_o see_v it_o in_o some_o particular_n as_o first_o how_o it_o make_v he_o humble_a and_o thankful_a for_o he_o not_o only_o call_v to_o mind_v his_o own_o unworthiness_n of_o the_o least_o mercy_n he_o still_o enjoy_v and_o how_o he_o have_v provoke_v the_o giver_n for_o he_o be_v ever_o meditate_v of_o what_o christ_n have_v do_v and_o suffer_v for_o he_o and_o how_o he_o have_v provoke_v christ_n but_o he_o also_o compare_v what_o he_o suffer_v with_o what_o he_o may_v have_v suffer_v argue_v thus_o with_o himself_o he_o that_o have_v take_v this_o from_o i_o may_v have_v take_v more_o he_o that_o afflict_v i_o for_o a_o time_n can_v have_v hold_v i_o long_o he_o that_o have_v touch_v i_o in_o part_n can_v have_v strike_v i_o in_o whole_a he_o that_o lay_v this_o upon_o my_o body_n have_v power_n to_o lay_v a_o great_a rod_n both_o upon_o my_o body_n and_o soul_n without_o do_v i_o the_o least_o wrong_n and_o so_o go_v on_o i_o be_v bear_v a_o child_n of_o wrath_n and_o whereas_o god_n may_v have_v leave_v i_o in_o that_o perish_a condition_n to_o cast_v up_o our_o receipt_n and_o compare_v they_o with_o our_o deserve_n but_o second_o god_n correction_n be_v his_o instruction_n he_o lashâ—s_v lesson_n his_o scourge_n schoolmaster_n his_o great_a distance_n and_o to_o consider_v as_o well_o the_o bitterness_n of_o what_o will_v follow_v as_o the_o sweetness_n of_o a_o momentary_a pleasure_n and_o so_o clear_v his_o sight_n that_o he_o can_v now_o discern_v sin_n in_o all_o he_o think_v and_o speak_v and_o do_v for_o he_o be_v ever_o bewail_v his_o want_n and_o weakness_n the_o hardnesâ—e_n of_o his_o heart_n want_v of_o faith_n etc._n etc._n three_o it_o abundant_o increase_v his_o joy_n and_o comfort_n for_o admit_v satan_n and_o the_o world_n shall_v deprive_v he_o of_o all_o outward_a comfort_n at_o once_o yet_o god_n at_o the_o same_o time_n will_v supply_v the_o want_n of_o these_o with_o comfort_n far_o surpass_v and_o transcend_v they_o as_o first_o the_o assurance_n of_o the_o pardon_n of_o sin_n alone_o be_v these_o grace_n to_o be_v in_o thou_o yet_o still_o thy_o case_n may_v be_v good_a enough_o for_o a_o christian_a in_o time_n of_o spiritual_a distemper_n and_o desertion_n be_v as_o one_o in_o a_o fear_n because_o in_o such_o case_n a_o man_n be_v hold_v not_o to_o have_v power_n or_o command_v in_o some_o sort_n of_o himself_o a_o trouble_a soul_n be_v like_o trouble_a water_n we_o can_v discern_v nothing_o clear_o in_o it_o wherefore_o in_o such_o case_n a_o man_n must_v call_v to_o remembrance_n the_o time_n past_a and_o how_o it_o have_v be_v with_o he_o former_o as_o david_n do_v psal._n 77._o 2_o to_o 12._o and_o likewise_o job_n chap._n 31._o thus_o must_v thou_o do_v and_o then_o if_o ever_o thou_o have_v true_a faith_n wrought_v in_o thy_o heart_n it_o can_v never_o be_v
