not_o for_o want_n of_o light_n either_o the_o assurance_n of_o the_o thing_n or_o assurance_n by_o they_o but_o be_v in_o this_o sense_n 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d not_o reprobate_n as_o we_o read_v it_o but_o without_o proof_n as_o the_o apostle_n speak_v to_o the_o corinthian_a babe_n 2_o cor._n 13.5_o they_o seek_v a_o proof_n of_o paul_n apostleship_n and_o he_o require_v a_o proof_n many_o time_n it_o be_v cloud_v too_o that_o the_o star_n do_v not_o appear_v and_o though_o grace_n live_v in_o their_o heart_n yet_o the_o light_n and_o comfort_n of_o it_o may_v be_v want_v for_o though_o every_o man_n have_v the_o power_n of_o reflect_v upon_o his_o own_o action_n can_v discern_v what_o thought_n be_v in_o he_o and_o what_o affection_n and_o can_v tell_v what_o he_o love_v what_o he_o fear_v and_o grieve_v for_o and_o the_o like_a yet_o he_o may_v still_o be_v question_v and_o doubt_v whether_o this_o his_o love_n fear_v grief_n etc._n etc._n be_v gracious_a spiritual_a and_o true_o holy_a act_n or_o not_o whereof_o the_o reason_n be_v this_o because_o though_o the_o spirit_n which_o be_v in_o a_o man_n know_v the_o thing_n of_o a_o man_n 1_o cor._n 2.11_o yet_o what_o be_v the_o true_a worth_n of_o these_o thing_n which_o be_v in_o he_o and_o whether_o give_v he_o of_o god_n and_o wrought_v in_o he_o by_o god_n unto_o salvation_n this_o we_o can_v know_v but_o by_o a_o superven_a light_n of_o the_o spirit_n who_o be_v not_o only_o the_o worker_n of_o grace_n in_o we_o but_o be_v give_v we_o to_o discover_v and_o enlighten_v it_o to_o we_o verse_n how_o therefore_o shall_v we_o discern_v whether_o the_o testimony_n which_o we_o think_v we_o have_v be_v sound_a and_o good_a or_o but_o feign_v and_o counterfeit_a i_o confess_v it_o be_v good_a to_o watch_v and_o be_v circumspect_a because_o of_o our_o adversary_n the_o devil_n who_o be_v seldom_o more_o our_o adversary_n than_o when_o he_o pretend_v to_o be_v our_o friend_n as_o he_o do_v to_o eve_n and_o to_o christ_n himself_o but_o yet_o they_o that_o have_v the_o testimony_n of_o god_n spirit_n be_v secure_a and_o safe_a though_o they_o that_o have_v it_o not_o can_v be_v so_o what_o ever_o presume_v confidence_n they_o may_v entertain_v themselves_o with_o i_o shall_v therefore_o endeavour_v to_o clear_v this_o thing_n that_o none_o may_v be_v harden_v through_o the_o
