aurhor_n raise_v a_o stupendous_a structure_n upon_o this_o narrow_a and_o rot_a foundation_n there_o be_v some_o ambiguity_n in_o some_o place_n that_o may_v sometime_o arise_v concern_v the_o true_a meaning_n of_o some_o few_o text_n of_o scripture_n therefore_o we_o can_v never_o be_v certain_a of_o the_o true_a meaning_n of_o any_o one_o text_n therein_o those_o only_o except_v which_o contain_v moral_a precept_n for_o of_o those_o we_o be_v certain_a before_o hand_n but_o we_o can_v never_o understand_v from_o thence_o that_o there_o be_v such_o a_o people_n as_o the_o jew_n or_o such_o a_o man_n as_o moses_n or_o such_o a_o person_n as_o our_o saviour_n who_o do_v wonderful_a thing_n in_o judea_n nor_o any_o apostle_n send_v out_o by_o he_o for_o these_o be_v all_o speculative_a matter_n which_o though_o the_o new_a testament_n be_v write_v in_o greek_a yet_o be_v altogether_o obscure_v by_o the_o ambiguity_n of_o the_o hebrew_n language_n can_v you_o think_v plain_a narration_n of_o such_o matter_n of_o fact_n as_o be_v as_o easy_o intelligible_a in_o one_o language_n as_o another_o and_o will_v not_o history_n as_o well_o bear_v a_o translation_n as_o the_o problem_n of_o euclid_n do_v not_o he_o pretend_v to_o expound_v scripture_n by_o some_o hebrew_n history_n if_o he_o can_v get_v one_o for_o his_o purpose_n and_o yet_o be_v all_o history_n so_o obscure_a that_o it_o be_v impossible_a to_o be_v expound_v s._n you_o can_v deny_v but_o that_o a_o history_n of_o the_o life_n of_o the_o prophet_n will_v much_o conduce_v towards_o the_o better_a understanding_n of_o prophetical_a write_n l._n it_o may_v give_v light_a to_o some_o few_o place_n but_o be_v far_o from_o be_v absolute_o necessary_a to_o expound_v all_o why_o may_v we_o not_o as_o well_o understand_v the_o scripture_n without_o such_o a_o history_n as_o the_o work_n of_o plato_n or_o cicero_n or_o levy_v beside_o in_o what_o language_n must_v this_o expound_v history_n be_v write_v not_o in_o hebrew_n for_o than_o it_o must_v be_v subject_a to_o the_o same_o ambiguity_n as_o the_o bible_n itself_o nor_o in_o any_o of_o the_o eastern_a tongue_n for_o then_o the_o matter_n will_v not_o be_v much_o mend_v nor_o in_o any_o foreign_a dialect_n for_o than_o it_o will_v not_o pass_v for_o authentic_a as_o write_v by_o one_o not_o skilled_a in_o the_o jewish_a affair_n then_o by_o who_o must_v this_o history_n be_v write_v by_o a_o author_n that_o pretend_v to_o be_v inspire_v than_o spinosa_n will_v have_v the_o same_o prejudice_n against_o he_o as_o against_o the_o other_o prophet_n and_o penman_n of_o the_o holy_a scripture_n who_o he_o expose_v as_o madman_n and_o will_v not_o allow_v they_o to_o say_v one_o thing_n unless_o in_o moral_n that_o
