be_v repay_v gnaw_v and_o bit_v some_o part_n of_o the_o poor_a man_n substance_n from_o he_o and_o so_o increase_v his_o want_n and_o by_o little_a and_o little_o eat_v he_o up_o money_o lend_v upon_o usury_n to_o a_o poor_a man_n to_o supply_v his_o need_n may_v not_o unsit_o be_v compare_v to_o a_o piece_n of_o new_a cloth_n sow_v upon_o a_o old_a garment_n for_o that_o although_o it_o cover_v the_o rent_n for_o a_o time_n and_o seem_v to_o have_v mend_v the_o garment_n yet_o after_o a_o while_n the_o new_a cloth_n fret_v the_o old_a and_o bring_v away_o part_n of_o it_o and_o so_o make_v the_o rent_n much_o worse_o this_o therefore_o be_v but_o a_o cruel_a relieve_n of_o the_o poor_a and_o needy_a for_o the_o like_a may_v be_v say_v of_o a_o victualler_n who_o sell_v a_o penny_n loaf_n for_o six_o penny_n to_o a_o man_n ready_a to_o die_v for_o hunger_n do_v relieve_v he_o in_o his_o want_n and_o preserve_v he_o from_o death_n but_o yet_o he_o and_o the_o usurer_n mercy_n be_v cruel_a 10._o as_o solomon_n say_v of_o all_o the_o wicked_a three_o if_o the_o lord_n straight_o command_v free_a loan_n towards_o they_o that_o be_v in_o need_n then_o questionless_a all_o usury_n be_v it_o never_o so_o small_a be_v forbid_v towards_o the_o poor_a but_o the_o former_a be_v certain_a as_o we_o shall_v show_v out_o of_o deut._n 15._o 8._o etc._n etc._n luk._n 6._o 35._o and_o therefore_o the_o least_o usury_n that_o may_v be_v be_v forbid_v towards_o the_o poor_a and_o that_o under_o the_o name_n of_o neshek_n and_o tarbith_n that_o we_o shall_v no_o long_o dream_n that_o no_o usury_n be_v neshek_n unless_o it_o be_v great_a nor_o tarbith_n unless_o it_o be_v excessive_a their_o five_o and_o last_o objection_n be_v that_o the_o law_n which_o forbid_v our_o hand_n to_o lend_v not_o only_o to_o those_o who_o will_v repay_v but_o also_o to_o such_o as_o of_o who_o we_o can_v hope_v to_o receive_v that_o which_o we_o lend_v so_o that_o our_o saviour_n christ_n require_v both_o as_o in_o a_o copulative_a sentence_n the_o note_n whereof_o be_v not_o only_o but_o also_o but_o commend_v the_o latter_a especial_o unto_o us._n for_o whereas_o lend_v proceed_v from_o one_o of_o these_o three_o fountain_n as_o zanchius_n also_o have_v observe_v namely_o either_o from_o covetousness_n when_o man_n by_o lend_v seek_v their_o own_o gain_n as_o usurer_n do_v use_v to_o lend_v or_o from_o natural_a courtesy_n and_o civility_n when_o man_n lend_v free_o to_o gratify_v their_o friend_n intend_v to_o require_v their_o own_o again_o as_o civil_a honest_a man_n who_o notwithstanding_o our_o saviour_n christ_n call_v sinner_n be_v wont_a to_o lend_v or_o from_o christian_a charity_n for_o the_o lord_n sake_n as_o true_a christian_n be_v so_o much_o care_n for_o our_o principal_n as_o to_o help_v our_o christian_a brother_n because_o the_o former_a seem_v to_o stand_v rather_o with_o their_o profit_n our_o saviour_n christ_n therefore_o even_o in_o this_o respect_n also_o prefer_v the_o latter_a for_o if_o man_n will_v lend_v only_o upon_o security_n to_o receive_v their_o principal_n 46._o what_o thanks_n have_v they_o say_v our_o saviour_n or_o as_o matthew_n report_v what_o reward_n have_v they_o for_o sinner_n will_v so_o lend_v to_o receive_v recompense_n from_o man_n by_o the_o repayment_n of_o the_o to_o receive_v so_o much_o as_o they_o lend_v unless_o they_o may_v receive_v more_o and_o last_o if_o our_o saviour_n christ_n allow_v of_o usury_n he_o will_v acknowledge_v that_o the_o lender_n shall_v do_v a_o act_n worthy_a of_o great_a thanks_o if_o he_o will_v lend_v free_o though_o upon_o covenant_n to_o receive_v his_o own_o again_o for_o he_o that_o shall_v lend_v a_o hundred_o receive_v a_o great_a reward_n at_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n and_o thus_o have_v we_o hear_v out_o of_o the_o write_a word_n of_o god_n what_o be_v his_o both_o reveal_v will_n and_o also_o judgement_n concern_v usury_n his_o will_n both_o in_o that_o he_o straight_o command_v free_a loan_n and_o also_o severe_o forbid_v lend_v for_o gain_n his_o judgement_n not_o only_o in_o that_o he_o censure_v usury_n as_o a_o fearful_a sin_n and_o call_v it_o a_o abomination_n but_o also_o in_o that_o according_o he_o threaten_v his_o fearful_a judgement_n both_o temporal_a against_o the_o usurer_n himself_o and_o that_o which_o be_v more_o against_o the_o country_n wherein_o it_o be_v commit_v 22._o and_o also_o spiritual_a ask_v with_o indignation_n whether_o a_o usurer_n shall_v live_v &_o
