of_o our_o power_n and_o then_o if_o you_o come_v not_o oft_o you_o shall_v perish_v in_o your_o sin_n &_o negligence_n but_o we_o shall_v deliver_v our_o own_o soul_n but_o if_o we_o be_v negligent_a in_o this_o and_o do_v not_o call_v upon_o you_o oft_o you_o shall_v perish_v in_o your_o sin_n and_o your_o blood_n shall_v be_v require_v at_o our_o hand_n and_o therefore_o it_o stand_v we_o upon_o mere_o through_o the_o minister_n negligence_n in_o this_o duty_n many_o soul_n there_o be_v that_o perish_v because_o of_o this_o negligence_n in_o minister_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v our_o duty_n to_o be_v stir_v up_o and_o to_o labour_v to_o reform_v ourselves_o the_o apostle_n give_v we_o the_o rule_n when_o he_o say_v thou_o that_o teach_v another_o teach_v not_o thou_o thyself_o but_o in_o the_o second_o place_n the_o negligence_n of_o the_o people_n be_v more_o convenient_a for_o this_o place_n to_o be_v reprove_v thereby_o when_o the_o table_n be_v spread_v when_o god_n say_v to_o unto_o we_o and_o that_o we_o be_v call_v and_o warn_v and_o invite_v to_o communicate_v if_o we_o refuse_v now_o to_o come_v or_o if_o we_o come_v spare_o what_o be_v this_o but_o to_o despise_v the_o bountiful_a and_o rich_a mercy_n of_o god_n towards_o we_o that_o the_o lord_n offer_v we_o so_o many_o heavenly_a excellency_n and_o comfort_n with_o one_o hand_n for_o in_o this_o one_o by_o faith_n and_o then_o they_o shall_v be_v apprehend_v by_o sight_n and_o appearance_n we_o believe_v now_o only_o we_o then_o shall_v see_v that_o which_o now_o we_o do_v believe_v last_o there_o service_n on_o the_o lord_n day_n all_o of_o we_o profess_v religion_n yet_o this_o be_v our_o irreligious_a practice_n some_o of_o you_o happy_o make_v some_o conscience_n of_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o first_o table_n hear_v pray_v and_o some_o other_o part_n of_o god_n worship_n but_o be_v not_o so_o conscionable_a of_o the_o second_o table_n either_o you_o neglect_v your_o ordinary_a call_n or_o be_v unjust_a in_o your_o deal_n a_o exception_n too_o common_a and_o too_o just_a against_o many_o great_a professor_n on_o the_o other_o side_n some_o be_v careful_a of_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o second_o table_n they_o be_v just_a in_o their_o deal_n and_o will_v wrong_v no_o man_n witting_o and_o so_o think_v that_o be_v religion_n enough_o to_o be_v save_v by_o oh_o my_o brethren_n you_o be_v deceive_v on_o both_o side_n it_o be_v true_a that_o both_o these_o kind_n of_o duty_n be_v good_a but_o so_o as_o they_o be_v both_o practise_v together_o 1_o john_n 3.23_o this_o be_v god_n commandment_n that_o we_o believe_v in_o his_o son_n and_o love_v one_o another_o where_o all_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o first_o table_n be_v command_v under_o the_o name_n of_o faith_n and_o speak_v of_o excommunication_n and_o such_o like_a therefore_o where_o these_o be_v the_o word_n true_o preach_v sacrament_n right_o administer_v prayer_n to_o god_n and_o love_n to_o the_o brethren_n religious_o and_o conscionable_o practise_v there_o be_v a_o true_a visible_a church_n and_o this_o may_v further_o be_v enlarge_v in_o every_o one_o of_o these_o particular_n here_o mention_v where_o the_o word_n be_v true_o preach_v there_o be_v a_o promise_n of_o christ_n presence_n and_o blessing_n and_o so_o where_o the_o sacrament_n be_v right_o administer_v as_o we_o may_v see_v in_o matt._n 28.18_o 19_o go_v teach_v all_o nation_n baptise_v they_o etc._n etc._n and_o lo_o i_o be_o with_o you_o always_o until_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n and_o so_o for_o prayer_n the_o lord_n have_v promise_v his_o save_a presence_n and_o blessing_n to_o those_o that_o be_v conversant_a in_o religious_a prayer_n matth._n 18.19_o if_o two_o of_o you_o agree_v in_o earth_n upon_o any_o thing_n whatsoever_o they_o shall_v desire_v it_o shall_v be_v give_v they_o of_o my_o father_n etc._n etc._n and_o so_o for_o love_n to_o the_o brethren_n god_n have_v promise_v his_o blessing_n to_o be_v there_o for_o ever_o where_o this_o love_n be_v psalm_n 133._o the_o last_o verse_n if_o god_n promise_v then_o his_o save_a presence_n and_o blessing_n to_o every_o one_o of_o these_o in_o particular_a then_o where_o all_o these_o meet_v together_o there_o be_v a_o promise_n of_o his_o save_a presence_n and_o blessing_n much_o more_o now_o christ_n save_v presence_n and_o blessing_n be_v peculiar_a to_o his_o church_n then_o where_o these_o be_v there_o be_v a_o true_a church_n second_o where_o these_o duty_n be_v true_o practise_v there_o be_v true_a save_a faith_n at_o least_o in_o outward_a profession_n now_o what_o be_v a_o true_a visible_a church_n but_o a_o company_n of_o those_o that_o open_o and_o joint_o profess_v the_o true_a save_a faith_n therefore_o where_o these_o be_v there_o be_v a_o true_a visible_a church_n let_v man_n profess_v what_o other_o faith_n or_o religion_n they_o will_v though_o never_o so_o plausible_a a_o religion_n and_o never_o so_o zealous_o profess_v yet_o only_o the_o profession_n of_o this_o faith_n and_o religion_n make_v a_o true_a visible_a church_n yea_o where_o these_o duty_n be_v practise_v there_o be_v true_a save_a faith_n indeed_o at_o least_o in_o some_o though_o not_o in_o all_o for_o they_o be_v the_o mean_n to_o beget_v and_o confirm_v faith_n that_o be_v the_o word_n and_o sacrament_n and_o god_n blessing_n always_o attend_v on_o the_o ordinary_a use_n of_o these_o mean_n to_o make_v they_o effectual_a to_o some_o for_o salvation_n and_o there_o also_o be_v the_o special_a exercise_n of_o save_a faith_n prayer_n to_o god_n and_o love_n to_o the_o saint_n and_o it_o can_v be_v at_o least_o charity_n forbid_v we_o to_o think_v otherwise_o but_o that_o though_o many_o among_o they_o yea_o most_o of_o they_o shall_v be_v hypocrite_n yet_o some_o perform_v those_o exercise_n in_o the_o truth_n and_o singleness_n of_o their_o heart_n and_o so_o there_o be_v a_o true_a church_n if_o it_o shall_v so_o fall_v out_o that_o all_o shall_v be_v hypocrite_n yet_o profess_v and_o outward_o practise_v these_o duty_n they_o be_v a_o true_a visible_a church_n in_o regard_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o visibility_n of_o it_o but_o because_o always_o in_o such_o congregation_n there_o be_v by_o the_o blessing_n of_o god_n some_o true_a believer_n therefore_o they_o be_v true_a church_n visible_a in_o regard_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o a_o church_n among_o they_o and_o i_o take_v it_o this_o be_v the_o proper_a sense_n of_o the_o speech_n when_o we_o speak_v of_o a_o true_a visible_a church_n that_o there_o be_v some_o true_a believer_n among_o they_o that_o make_v profession_n of_o the_o save_a faith_n for_o who_o cause_n they_o and_o other_o that_o join_v with_o they_o be_v right_o call_v a_o true_a church_n visible_a and_o not_o only_o a_o true_a visible_a church_n but_o that_o they_o be_v as_o true_o a_o church_n as_o they_o be_v true_o visible_a three_o there_o be_v the_o true_a and_o right_a cause_n of_o a_o true_a visible_a church_n as_o first_o the_o efficient_a god_n in_o the_o ministry_n of_o his_o word_n james_n 1.18_o of_o his_o own_o will_n beget_v he_o we_o by_o the_o word_n of_o truth_n second_o there_o be_v the_o material_a cause_n saint_n by_o calling_n 1_o cor._n 1.2_o three_o there_o be_v the_o formal_a cause_n their_o joint_n and_o open_a practise_v those_o duty_n therefore_o there_o be_v the_o whole_a body_n of_o a_o true_a visible_a church_n the_o use_v first_o use_n be_v matter_n of_o reproof_n of_o sundry_a adversary_n first_o of_o those_o that_o oppose_v the_o first_o branch_n of_o the_o doctrine_n some_o congregation_n say_v they_o have_v these_o and_o yet_o be_v no_o true_a visible_a church_n but_o let_v they_o show_v i_o any_o such_o congregation_n where_o these_o be_v in_o any_o true_a measure_n and_o then_o let_v they_o show_v i_o any_o just_a cause_n why_o these_o shall_v not_o be_v a_o true_a church_n they_o may_v be_v heretical_a church_n and_o yet_o true_a church_n and_o they_o may_v be_v schismatical_a church_n and_o yet_o true_a church_n except_o they_o overthrow_v the_o foundation_n and_o if_o they_o overthrow_v the_o foundation_n than_o the_o word_n be_v not_o true_o teach_v and_o receive_v among_o they_o nor_o any_o other_o of_o these_o duty_n religious_o practise_v second_o it_o be_v for_o reproof_n of_o those_o that_o oppose_v the_o other_o branch_n of_o the_o doctrine_n some_o congregation_n say_v they_o be_v true_a visible_a church_n and_o yet_o they_o have_v not_o these_o thing_n yes_o they_o have_v they_o in_o some_o measure_n more_o or_o less_o or_o else_o they_o be_v no_o true_a visible_a church_n at_o least_o they_o have_v the_o word_n true_o preach_v among_o they_o which_o do_v inclusive_o comprehend_v the_o other_o duty_n the_o state_n of_o a_o true_a church_n be_v right_o to_o be_v weigh_v and_o consider_v and_o according_o these_o thing_n may_v be_v affirm_v of_o it_o there_o be_v a_o beginning_n church_n that_o have_v the_o beginning_n of_o these_o thing_n and_o there_o be_v a_o flourish_a church_n and_o that_o have_v all_o these_o thing_n in_o some_o good_a beauty_n and_o perfection_n and_o there_o be_v a_o church_n in_o persecution_n and_o that_o have_v these_o thing_n yet_o with_o many_o opposition_n and_o interruption_n there_o be_v a_o decay_a or_o a_o die_a church_n and_o that_o also_o have_v these_o thing_n though_o decay_a and_o die_v as_o we_o may_v see_v in_o the_o
i_o the_o conferrence_n of_o both_o these_o speech_n together_o minister_v this_o profitable_a observation_n namely_o that_o the_o true_a and_o right_a remembrance_n of_o our_o saviour_n jesus_n christ_n be_v our_o affectionate_a and_o religious_a remembrance_n of_o the_o death_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n remember_v i_o say_v christ_n verse_n 25._o that_o be_v say_v paul_n the_o lord_n death_n verse_n 26._o remember_v it_o so_o that_o you_o show_v it_o forth_o that_o be_v religious_o and_o affectionate_o zach._n 12.10_o i_o will_v pour_v upon_o the_o house_n of_o david_n and_o upon_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o jerusalem_n the_o spirit_n of_o grace_n etc._n etc._n there_o be_v a_o promise_n of_o the_o spirit_n to_o be_v pour_v down_o on_o the_o faithful_a under_o the_o gospel_n manner_n esay_n 53._o from_o the_o first_o to_o the_o seven_o verse_n he_o that_o of_o all_o the_o prophet_n speak_v most_o plain_o of_o he_o set_v he_o forth_o principal_o in_o regard_n of_o his_o death_n as_o he_o be_v wound_v and_o break_v and_o oppress_v and_o affict_v the_o prophet_n leave_v they_o the_o best_a memorial_n of_o christ_n and_o therefore_o he_o acquaint_v they_o with_o the_o can_v proper_o be_v say_v to_o be_v please_v with_o his_o son_n at_o any_o one_o time_n more_o than_o another_o but_o we_o speak_v it_o after_o the_o manner_n of_o man_n and_o by_o way_n of_o
