see_v the_o offence_n of_o man_n corruption_n for_o to_o eat_v to_o drink_v to_o watch_v to_o sleep_v to_o rest_v to_o travail_v and_o to_o be_v subject_a to_o all_o the_o other_o necessity_n of_o nature_n be_v unfeigned_o great_a misery_n and_o calamity_n to_o the_o godly_a person_n who_o covet_v to_o be_v set_v free_a and_o at_o liberty_n from_o all_o manner_n of_o sin_n for_o grievous_o be_v a_o man_n press_v down_o with_o the_o necessity_n of_o the_o body_n in_o this_o life_n and_o therefore_o do_v the_o prophet_n make_v humble_a prayer_n in_o these_o word_n to_o be_v deliver_v from_o they_o oh_o lord_n draw_v i_o out_o of_o my_o necessity_n but_o wretched_a be_v they_o that_o know_v not_o their_o own_o misery_n and_o again_o more_o wretched_a which_o do_v love_v this_o misery_n and_o mortal_a life_n which_o some_o do_v so_o far_o embrace_v whereas_o nevertheless_o through_o their_o travail_n and_o carefulness_n they_o can_v scant_v yet_o get_v themselves_o but_o necessary_a friend_n do_v not_o look_v upon_o those_o thing_n that_o do_v please_v the_o flesh_n or_o that_o do_v make_v a_o goodly_a show_n for_o this_o present_a time_n but_o with_o all_o hope_n and_o greediness_n do_v breath_n to_o everlasting_a good_a thing_n and_o with_o their_o whole_a heart_n be_v carry_v unto_o the_o high_a and_o the_o invisible_a thing_n lest_o they_o shall_v be_v draw_v our_o condition_n sure_o we_o have_v need_n to_o be_v instruct_v unto_o good_a manner_n afresh_o again_o like_o young_a beginner_n if_o happy_o there_o be_v any_o hope_n of_o amendment_n and_o great_a profit_v in_o heavenly_a thing_n of_o the_o meditation_n of_o death_n the_o xxiii_o chapter_n sing_v thy_o life_n shall_v have_v a_o end_n flower_n so_o quick_o look_v well_o about_o thou_o man_n flourish_v to_o day_n to_o morrow_n he_o be_v no_o where_o and_o be_v take_v out_o of_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o world_n be_v by_o &_o by_o also_o forget_v of_o the_o same_o oh_o blockishness_n and_o one_o day_n space_n many_o do_v reckon_v the_o year_n of_o their_o amendment_n &_o repentance_n when_o oftentimes_o the_o fruit_n thereof_o be_v but_o slender_a if_o it_o be_v a_o terrible_a thing_n to_o die_v perchance_o it_o be_v a_o more_o perilous_a thing_n to_o live_v any_o long_o happy_a be_v he_o that_o have_v evermore_o the_o hour_n of_o his_o death_n before_o his_o eye_n and_o frame_v himself_o every_o day_n to_o die_v if_o thou_o have_v ever_o see_v a_o man_n die_v think_v that_o thou_o must_v pass_v the_o same_o way_n to_o be_v in_o doubt_n in_o the_o morning_n whether_o thou_o hour_n shall_v live_v till_o the_o evening_n and_o again_o at_o night_n be_v afeard_a to_o promise_v thyself_o life_n till_o morning_n and_o always_o be_v in_o such_o a_o readiness_n and_o live_v in_o such_o sort_n that_o death_n may_v never_o find_v thou_o unprovided_a many_o die_v so_o daine_o and_o when_o they_o look_v not_o for_o it_o for_o the_o son_n of_o man_n will_v come_v when_o we_o think_v not_o of_o his_o come_n when_o as_o that_o last_o hour_n shall_v come_v thou_o shall_v begin_v to_o think_v much_o otherwise_o of_o the_o whole_a life_n pass_v than_o thou_o do_v before_o &_o shall_v be_v in_o deep_a sorrow_n and_o heaviness_n for_o that_o thou_o have_v be_v so_o negligent_a and_o so_o slack_a oh_o happy_a and_o wise_a man_n who_o endevour_v now_o to_o be_v such_o a_o one_o in_o his_o life_n as_o he_o wish_v to_o be_v find_v at_o the_o time_n of_o his_o death_n for_o the_o perfect_a contempt_n of_o the_o world_n the_o earnest_a desire_n of_o come_n forward_o in_o virtue_n the_o love_n of_o discipline_n or_o good_a form_n of_o live_v the_o labour_n of_o repentance_n the_o ready_a mind_n to_o obey_v the_o denial_n of_o himself_o and_o the_o suffering_n of_o every_o calamity_n for_o the_o love_n of_o christ_n be_v cause_n of_o great_a hope_n to_o die_v well_o and_o happy_o thou_o be_v able_a to_o do_v many_o thing_n well_o whilst_o thou_o be_v in_o health_n but_o be_v sick_a i_o know_v not_o what_o thou_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o do_v for_o few_o be_v make_v better_a through_o sickness_n &_o they_o that_o drive_v of_o the_o amendment_n of_o their_o life_n until_o that_o time_n be_v seldom_o time_n make_v god_n servant_n better_o it_o be_v to_o repent_v and_o to_o live_v so_o now_o whilst_o thou_o may_v as_o after_o thou_o may_v live_v for_o ever_o otherwise_o if_o thou_o forgo_v this_o occasion_n and_o opportunity_n thou_o shall_v afterwards_o seek_v for_o it_o to_o late_o and_o the_o time_n shall_v be_v when_o perhaps_o
hell_n fire_n then_o make_v thou_o for_o sure_o thou_o may_v not_o be_v twice_o happy_a or_o bless_a both_o to_o enjoy_v pleasure_n in_o this_o life_n and_o afterward_o to_o reign_v also_o with_o christ_n in_o heaven_n and_o now_o put_v case_n thou_o have_v hitherto_o live_v in_o continual_a honour_n and_o pleasure_n what_o good_a shall_v all_o these_o thing_n have_v do_v thou_o if_o it_o have_v chance_v thou_o to_o die_v out_o of_o hand_n do_v thou_o not_o see_v that_o all_o thing_n be_v but_o vain_a beside_o the_o love_n and_o the_o service_n of_o god_n only_o for_o he_o that_o love_v god_n with_o all_o his_o heart_n the_o same_o fear_v neither_o death_n nor_o punishment_n nor_o judgement_n nor_o hell_n because_o perfect_a love_n do_v make_v safe_a access_n to_o almighty_a god_n but_o it_o be_v no_o wonder_n if_o he_o fear_v death_n and_o judgement_n which_o yet_o take_v delight_n in_o sin_n notwithstanding_o it_o be_v expedient_a if_o love_n do_v not_o yet_o reclaim_v thou_o from_o evil_a that_o the_o fear_n of_o hell_n fire_n do_v at_o least_o wise_a bridle_n thou_o but_o he_o that_o refuse_v the_o fear_n of_o god_o the_o same_o person_n can_v not_o long_o continue_v in_o goodness_n but_o run_v quick_o into_o the_o trap_n and_o snare_n of_o the_o devil_n of_o the_o zealous_a amendment_n of_o our_o whole_a life_n the_o xxv_o chapter_n be_v watchful_a and_o diligent_a in_o the_o describe_v service_n of_o god_n and_o consider_v whereunto_o thou_o be_v ordain_v and_o for_o what_o cause_n thou_o have_v give_v over_o the_o world_n namely_o that_o thou_o may_v live_v unto_o god_n &_o become_v a_o heavenly_a person_n therefore_o be_v fervent_a to_o come_v forward_o for_o thou_o shall_v short_o receive_v the_o reward_n of_o thy_o travail_n neither_o shall_v there_o be_v any_o fear_n or_o sorrow_n afterward_o within_o thy_o bound_n or_o limit_n a_o little_a while_o shall_v thou_o now_o labour_n and_o so_o shall_v find_v great_a rest_n nay_o rather_o continual_a joy_n if_o thou_o will_v show_v thyself_o faithful_a or_o nimble_a still_o in_o do_v god_n undoubted_o will_v declare_v himself_o faithful_a &_o bountiful_a in_o reward_v nourish_v inward_o a_o good_a hope_n to_o obtain_v the_o victory_n but_o retchlessenesse_n must_v be_v avoid_v lest_o thou_o be_v blunt_a and_o dull_a or_o else_o do_v wax_v proud_a there_o be_v sometime_o a_o certain_a man_n which_o careful_o toss_v between_o fear_n and_o hope_n do_v humble_o say_v thus_o whilst_o he_o be_v in_o pray_v oh_o that_o i_o know_v certain_o that_o i_o shall_v persevere_v and_o forthwith_o he_o hear_v this_o answer_n from_o god_o within_o himself_o in_o his_o own_o soul_n and_o what_o then_o if_o thou_o do_v know_v it_o will_v thou_o willing_o do_v it_o go_v to_o then_o do_v now_o but_o as_o thou_o will_v they_o have_v do_v &_o have_v thou_o no_o doubt_n of_o perseverance_n he_o be_v forthwith_o confirm_v with_o this_o comfort_n do_v commit_v lord_n and_o do_v well_o say_v the_o prophet_n and_o thou_o shall_v inhabit_v the_o earth_n and_o shall_v be_v feed_v with_o the_o plenty_n thereof_o one_o thing_n there_o be_v that_o withdraw_v many_o man_n from_o come_v forward_o and_o from_o fervent_a correction_n of_o themselves_o the_o horribleness_n of_o the_o difficulty_n of_o it_o and_o the_o travail_n of_o the_o fight_n and_o combat_n sure_o they_o do_v most_o of_o all_o other_o come_v forward_o in_o virtue_n which_o endeavour_n with_o their_o power_n to_o conquer_v most_o grievous_a thing_n and_o such_o as_o be_v most_o of_o all_o contrary_n unto_o themselves_o for_o every_o man_n do_v come_v forward_o so_o much_o the_o better_a and_o obtain_v the_o more_o ample_a grace_n of_o god_n as_o that_o the_o more_o he_o overcome_v and_o subdue_v himself_o by_o god_n help_n but_o a_o like_a power_n be_v not_o in_o all_o man_n to_o overcome_v and_o mortify_v themselves_o howbeit_o the_o same_o that_o shall_v the_o christian_n well_o nurture_v and_o obedient_a to_o the_o discipline_n of_o christ_n and_o again_o how_o call_n sorrowful_a and_o grievous_a a_o thing_n be_v it_o to_o see_v man_n live_v inordinate_o and_o not_o exercise_v those_o thing_n where_o unto_o they_o be_v call_v how_o great_o hurtful_a be_v it_o to_o forsake_v the_o purpose_n of_o thy_o call_n and_o to_o bend_v thyself_o to_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v no_o point_n of_o thy_o charge_n be_v mindful_a of_o thy_o purpose_n or_o profession_n and_o set_v the_o remembrance_n of_o christ_n crucify_v before_o thine_o eye_n &_o when_o thou_o behold_v his_o life_n be_v ashamed_a of_o thyself_o the_o have_v not_o all_o this_o while_n show_v thyself_o more_o diligent_a in_o follow_v of_o christ_n his_o step_n whereas_o nevertheless_o thou_o have_v a_o long_a time_n profess_v a_o christian_a life_n sure_o if_o the_o godly_a person_n do_v practice_v himself_o attentive_o and_o with_o bend_a study_n upon_o that_o most_o holy_a life_n of_o jesus_n and_o the_o torment_n of_o his_o passion_n the_o same_o shall_v there_o plentiful_o find_v all_o thing_n profitable_a and_o necessary_a for_o he_o neither_o be_v it_o needful_a for_o he_o to_o seek_v for_o any_o better_a thing_n beside_o jesus_n christ._n if_o jesus_n crucify_v may_v enter_v into_o our_o heart_n how_o soon_o and_o sufficient_o shall_v we_o become_v learned_a a_o
