the_o throne_n all_o that_o be_v call_v to_o this_o work_n may_v well_o be_v zealous_a in_o it_o and_o free_o adventure_v their_o life_n for_o it_o know_v they_o shall_v have_v a_o great_a reward_n for_o it_o and_o whatever_o their_o life_n or_o sin_n be_v they_o shall_v at_o least_o go_v to_o heaven_n if_o they_o die_v in_o the_o quarrel_n the_o service_n be_v enough_o to_o answer_v for_o all_o particular_o and_o close_o to_o consider_v first_o whether_o this_o
that_o can_v live_v in_o death_n love_n and_o bless_v enemy_n they_o be_v fit_a to_o reign_v for_o when_o such_o come_v to_o the_o kingdom_n they_o will_v enrich_v save_v bless_v and_o do_v good_a to_o all_o and_o hurt_v none_o but_o they_o that_o can_v bear_v the_o worst_a of_o evil_n among_o man_n will_v themselves_o be_v a_o burden_n to_o man_n if_o they_o get_v to_o the_o throne_n the_o good_a god_n who_o love_v man_n prove_v and_o try_v his_o own_o son_n before_o he_o give_v he_o the_o kingdom_n and_o will_v not_o commit_v the_o government_n to_o he_o till_o he_o have_v find_v that_o he_o can_v be_v happy_a without_o it_o till_o he_o can_v glory_v on_o the_o cross_n till_o he_o can_v die_v for_o other_o and_o be_v more_o happy_a in_o lay_v down_o his_o life_n and_o honour_n for_o they_o then_o in_o receive_v honour_n from_o they_o this_o lamb_n do_v overcome_v for_o he_o be_v king_n of_o king_n he_o have_v the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n in_o he_o and_o therefore_o all_o kingdom_n in_o his_o nature_n and_o needs_o not_o take_v from_o other_o but_o give_v to_o other_o and_o they_o that_o be_v with_o he_o be_v as_o he_o be_v call_v faithful_a and_o choose_v they_o do_v miserable_o deceive_v by_o the_o prince_n of_o darkness_n and_o delude_v by_o he_o he_o will_v persuade_v you_o that_o you_o be_v for_o christ_n and_o his_o kingdom_n when_o indeed_o it_o be_v for_o yourselves_o and_o your_o own_o advancement_n you_o be_v persuade_v that_o you_o will_v exalt_v he_o and_o set_v he_o upon_o the_o throne_n whereas_o he_o be_v already_o upon_o the_o throne_n judge_v you_o and_o that_o carnal_a mind_n you_o can_v give_v h_z m_z no_o kingdom_n you_o may_v acknowledge_v the_o kingdom_n he_o have_v indeed_o if_o any_o will_v give_v he_o a_o kingdom_n they_o must_v give_v of_o their_o own_o if_o then_o you_o have_v a_o glory_n and_o a_o kingdom_n and_o can_v lay_v it_o down_o for_o he_o and_o to_o he_o you_o may_v then_o be_v say_v to_o exalt_v christ_n and_o so_o far_o as_o you_o can_v bear_v this_o rejection_n that_o you_o be_v under_o and_o public_o justify_v he_o and_o condemn_v yourselves_o and_o the_o state_n and_o spirit_n in_o which_o you_o stand_v and_o act_v as_o unworthy_a to_o stand_v up_o in_o his_o name_n and_o presence_n so_o far_o you_o will_v give_v he_o glory_n and_o make_v he_o to_o be_v honour_v and_o fear_v in_o the_o world_n can_v you_o and_o i_o come_v forth_o and_o open_o declare_v that_o god_n may_v use_v we_o and_o all_o man_n and_o all_o our_o zeal_n and_o religion_n in_o what_o service_n he_o please_v but_o that_o he_o will_v not_o suffer_v either_o we_o or_o any_o other_o to_o reign_v with_o he_o so_o long_o as_o any_o thing_n of_o a_o private_a self-seeking_a proud_a or_o cruel_a spirit_n remain_v in_o we_o this_o lively_a and_o experimental_a testimony_n will_v make_v he_o to_o be_v honour_v and_o fear_v and_o shall_v i_o and_o you_o say_v and_o confess_v that_o the_o bless_a god_n have_v such_o love_n to_o mankind_n that_o he_o will_v suffer_v neither_o i_o nor_o you_o to_o have_v place_n in_o his_o church_n till_o we_o can_v love_v and_o forgive_v all_o and_o bear_v the_o sin_n and_o curse_n of_o all_o man_n we_o shall_v thereby_o render_v he_o love_v and_o honour_v for_o this_o indeed_o be_v and_o always_o be_v his_o mind_n he_o will_v not_o give_v the_o kingdom_n to_o jesus_n till_o he_o by_o the_o sword_n to_o reign_v and_o rule_v by_o force_n they_o be_v sure_o most_o contrary_a and_o therefore_o christ_n know_v he_o be_v to_o suffer_v command_v peter_n to_o put_v up_o his_o sword_n and_o give_v this_o rule_n for_o ever_o he_o that_o take_v up_o the_o sword_n to_o defend_v himself_o from_o suffer_v or_o to_o fight_v for_o christ_n shall_v perish_v by_o the_o sword_n note_v 1._o we_o take_v up_o the_o sword_n at_o first_o to_o avoid_v suffer_v and_o to_o deliver_v ourselves_o and_o party_n 2._o we_o now_o perish_v by_o that_o sword_n 3._o if_o we_o now_o begin_v to_o learn_v overthrow_v all_o your_o active_a dispensation_n and_o if_o you_o be_v true_a to_o it_o it_o will_v lead_v you_o to_o a_o open_a declaration_n of_o the_o change_n of_o your_o mind_n and_o to_o a_o faithful_a resolution_n whole_o to_o commit_v your_o cause_n to_o god_n and_o never_o more_o take_v up_o arm_n to_o deliver_v yourselves_o and_o destroy_v other_o if_o you_o can_v do_v this_o pluck_v up_o this_o root_n of_o bitterness_n and_o cut_v out_o this_o core_n it_o will_v be_v a_o great_a ease_n both_o to_o yourselves_o and_o the_o nation_n if_o you_o be_v able_a to_o pull_v it_o up_o and_o remove_v it_o from_o you_o by_o a_o full_a honest_a and_o clear_a demonstration_n of_o your_o heart_n and_o mind_n that_o may_v be_v sufficient_a to_o satisfy_v the_o magistrate_n it_o will_v effect_v one_o of_o these_o two_o thing_n either_o it_o will_v overcome_v your_o enemy_n with_o love_n and_o so_o heal_v all_o the_o distraction_n of_o the_o nation_n or_o if_o they_o continue_v to_o persecute_v after_o such_o a_o declaration_n of_o your_o mind_n they_o will_v soon_o break_v themselves_o for_o by_o love_n and_o patience_n christ_n have_v and_o do_v overcome_v all_o enmity_n and_o sense_n they_o be_v the_o suffering_n of_o christ_n as_o the_o suffering_n of_o all_o man_n be_v he_o so_o far_o as_o they_o be_v humane_a though_o weak_a in_o all_o their_o affliction_n he_o be_v afflict_v the_o sin_n and_o suffering_n of_o all_o be_v lay_v upon_o he_o we_o all_o like_a sheep_n have_v go_v astray_o and_o the_o lord_n have_v lay_v upon_o he_o the_o iniquity_n of_o we_o all_o and_o as_o our_o sin_n so_o our_o sorrow_n sure_o he_o have_v bear_v our_o grief_n and_o carry_v our_o sorrow_n even_o of_o all_o party_n and_o of_o the_o worst_a of_o all_o not_o the_o godly_a only_o but_o the_o wicked_a not_o the_o obedient_a only_o but_o the_o rebel_n he_o make_v his_o grave_n with_o the_o wicked_a even_o for_o the_o rebellious_a that_o the_o lord_n god_n may_v dwell_v among_o they_o therefore_o we_o do_v see_v that_o all_o party_n be_v enable_v to_o suffer_v for_o that_o cause_n they_o engage_v in_o and_o do_v find_v mercy_n to_o pardon_v their_o sin_n and_o strength_n to_o suffer_v death_n the_o common_a resolution_n of_o a_o man_n strengthen_v with_o the_o common_a grace_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o with_o any_o measure_n of_o common_a honesty_n or_o a_o opinion_n of_o the_o justice_n and_o truth_n of_o their_o cause_n do_v carry_v man_n off_o the_o stage_n of_o the_o world_n into_o death_n handsome_o and_o steady_o that_o some_o of_o you_o that_o have_v suffer_v have_v meet_v with_o more_o peace_n and_o more_o innocency_n in_o suffer_v then_o in_o act_v and_o more_o love_n and_o comfort_n in_o a_o prison_n and_o death_n then_o in_o a_o corrupt_a toilsome_a and_o sinful_a life_n in_o war_n and_o contest_v i_o do_v not_o wonder_v and_o yet_o can_v magnify_v it_o as_o martyrdom_n this_o i_o be_o bold_a to_o affirm_v that_o christ_n have_v not_o yet_o in_o these_o time_n so_o clear_o or_o visible_o set_v up_o his_o standard_n and_o gather_v a_o people_n to_o it_o into_o distinction_n from_o other_o man_n as_o to_o commit_v his_o name_n truth_n and_o cross_v whole_o and_o only_o to_o they_o nor_o have_v he_o form_v a_o body_n by_o any_o law_n rule_n spirit_n or_o ministry_n into_o a_o outward_a profession_n under_o any_o visible_a character_n as_o he_o do_v in_o the_o primitive_a time_n and_o therefore_o there_o be_v none_o who_o suffering_n can_v challenge_v this_o peculiar_a honour_n of_o fight_v under_o this_o standard_n the_o cross_n of_o christ_n therefore_o i_o do_v much_o fear_n that_o this_o profession_n and_o glory_v in_o the_o cross_n will_v cost_v you_o dear_a and_o involve_v you_o in_o deep_a suffering_n than_o you_o be_v aware_a of_o you_o will_v soon_o come_v to_o a_o true_a feel_n of_o yourselves_o and_o a_o sober_a sense_n of_o your_o condition_n if_o you_o will_v sink_v down_o into_o your_o confession_n and_o acknowledgement_n of_o the_o righteous_a hand_n of_o god_n upon_o you_o for_o your_o sin_n and_o alas_o not_o so_o much_o for_o your_o personal_a sin_n as_o for_o the_o evil_a state_n and_o spirit_n in_o which_o you_o have_v act_v against_o it_o have_v god_n very_o great_a indignation_n i_o feel_v in_o my_o soul_n god_n have_v great_a pity_n to_o your_o person_n as_o man_n and_o as_o his_o creature_n and_o servant_n and_o because_o as_o weak_a man_n you_o have_v be_v deceive_v and_o mislead_v but_o that_o corrupt_a state_n and_o that_o spirit_n that_o mislead_v you_o be_v judge_v for_o ever_o and_o never_o can_v nor_o shall_v recover_v it_o be_v not_o the_o lowness_n of_o a_o condition_n that_o keep_v a_o people_n down_o but_o the_o unsoundness_n of_o it_o be_v we_o once_o true_a and_o single_a we_o shall_v find_v rest_n and_o peace_n in_o the_o worst_a thing_n and_o deliverance_n out_o of_o they_o the_o upright_o may_v and_o shall_v rejoice_v in_o the_o hot_a fire_n and_o soon_o come_v forth_o but_o a_o false_a and_o unsound_a state_n must_v fall_v from_o heaven_n though_o it_o be_v exalt_v thither_o to_o fall_v under_o sin_n and_o shame_n to_o be_v humble_v under_o the_o foot_n of_o the_o vile_a creature_n in_o the_o world_n to_o bear_v first_o our_o own_o sin_n and_o then_o the_o wrath_n scorn_n and_o revenge_n of_o all_o the_o world_n be_v near_o to_o christ_n show_v more_o of_o innocency_n than_o tâ—_n 〈◊〉_d ourselves_o for_o the_o first_o part_n of_o 〈◊〉_d christian_n righteousness_n be_v to_o bear_v sin_n to_o judge_v and_o condemn_v ourselves_o and_o to_o intercede_v for_o other_o to_o justify_v ourselves_o and_o condemn_v other_o be_v very_o contrary_a to_o the_o cross_n of_o christ_n this_o may_v seem_v and_o be_v strange_a much_o mixture_n in_o they_o engagement_n and_o necessity_n make_v man_n stout_a in_o their_o way_n naturally_n what_o man_n can_v make_v good_a by_o wisdom_n and_o power_n they_o will_v maintain_v by_o resolution_n in_o suffer_v it_o be_v easy_a far_o for_o man_n to_o do_v so_o and_o die_v then_o to_o repent_v a_o false_a spirit_n and_o zeal_n will_v carry_v man_n out_o in_o suffering_n even_o to_o death_n itself_o as_o well_o as_o a_o true_a yea_o the_o anguish_n and_o pain_n of_o so_o great_a a_o disappointment_n will_v make_v man_n choose_v rather_o to_o die_v then_o to_o live_v in_o the_o shame_n and_o disgrace_n of_o it_o shame_n be_v the_o great_a affliction_n to_o some_o temper_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v easy_a to_o die_v then_o to_o yield_v confess_v and_o give_v glory_n if_o there_o shall_v be_v none_o of_o all_o this_o in_o your_o present_a suffering_n yet_o so_o long_o as_o there_o be_v bitter_a envy_v and_o strife_n in_o your_o heart_n glory_v not_o and_o lie_v not_o
for_o every_o one_o that_o go_v out_o of_o the_o world_n glory_v in_o his_o righteousness_n make_v a_o breath_n both_o in_o death_n and_o in_o the_o authority_n that_o inflict_v it_o and_o when_o it_o come_v to_o be_v easy_a and_o familiar_a as_o it_o will_v by_o a_o little_a practice_n authority_n and_o magistracy_n itself_o will_v be_v by_o such_o despise_a i_o shall_v commend_v to_o the_o
